Change top menu bar out action bat to have vertical battery out just look like cm9 - Motorola Photon 4G

How can you make or change your top menu bar action bar whatever it is? More bars on signal meter? Vertical battery, preferably black with blue evrything. Blue battery until charging, then green, orange when low.... On stock rom, locked bootloader

As far as i know, it's rom specific. Only problem is the result of your efforts is a flashable zip compatible with CWM. So you'll need to be unlocked and rooted. But you'll still be able to stay on stock rom and make these changes so it won't affect the way your phone works in any way except of course, lack of 4gees. But honestly if youre gonna go that far might as well just install custom roms. So ya know, it's a decision youll have to make.

your best method is use the UOT Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/ you make the mods you want for your phone and upload the files it tells you. It does the work for you then you reinstall them.
Its not simple but then its not real complicated either just make backups of whatever you do

Nah, cause you are replacing vital files. Normally you would, say, delete systemui.apk and replace it with the modified version with a file manager. Deleting systemui will crash the phone. That's why it must be changed either by throwing the modified files into the rom zip before flashing. Or by flashing the theme zip after rom installation.

If you just want to change the battery, wifi, signal, etc., icons, along with the color of the status bar and you are rooted but not necessarily unlocked, you can use jrummy's rom toolbox pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolboxpro&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkubGliZXJ0eS50b29sYm94cHJvIl0.
It's also has a lot of other features handy for rooted users.

If your talking about modifing any of the framework files (as your going to need to to change battery icons and such) then it needs to be done on a pc. Then pushed back to the phone.

Ninjamorph will let you extract the framework-res and SystemUI right on your phone. Problem is putting back the SystemUI via Ninjamorph will cause a bootloop. There may be a workaround for this but I never spent any time trying to figure it out. The app used to work great on the ogEVO but that was a lot easier to theme than the Photon in my opinion.

Not sure if this is going to help but that 'verizon wireless' isn't just a banner like old phones, its telling you what network you are on. It changes on its own when you leave your main service area (changes to extended network) and will say 'no signal' under obvious circumstances. I would imagine changing it wouldn't really hurt anything, but id definitely recommend a nandroid backup first

I tried it and had to to do a battery pull and reboot... Don't remeber if I had to restore or not... But, yeah, it doesn't work...
I changed mine as well. Now it shows my full name, which helps me because there are 3 Droid X2's in my house. LOL
I was able to change it when I was on rooted froyo, but since I updated to the pre rooted 2.3.3 gb I tried to change it and the phone kept force closing on me so I had to sbf...just be sure to have a backup
Changed mine and as soon as I did something forced closed I think it was android market(its been a week or so since i used it) then asked to reboot and everything is working like normal

[REQ]Battery % and notification bar toggles for stock rom

So ive been checking the theme/app section just about everyday hoping that someone would make a flashable zip for these mods and there looks like there hasn't been progress or advances in trying to. Now i know there are other threads asking the same for these mods but there hasnt been much activity in them.most threads where answered with apps so basically what im asking is, is there a dev that is willing to work up mods for a accurate battery percentage in notification bar as well as setting toggles in pull down. Thanks

I really appreciate the help here. Just to start, I went through UOT to grab a file that I could zip. I was thinking of decompiling the framework apk's and modding the stats_sys_battery.xml file, recompiling, and rezipping it up and then flashing that. I wasn't sure if that was going to work, but I'm a noob, so it was my first crack at it.
Best,
K

2.3.5 for Electrify/Photon, De-odexed included, Radio(Electrify only)

I am not responsible for the things you do to your phone.
I no longer have this phone. With that being said, I will still keep these links up. If for some reason they don't work, I WILL NOT be updating them. If you need them or wish to redistribute them, go for it and grab them while they are still here.
It was a nice phone while it lasted, but after 6 replacements I moved on to something better.
This DOES NOT unlock your bootloader, but will update to 2.3.5 on the already unlocked phones. Sorry to the folks that are locked with the 2.3.5 update. Hopefully something soon happens for you.
This is stock 2.3.5 WITH the updated kernel. Updated baseband as well, in a separate .zip of course.

Flashing this will revert your recovery to the stock recovery BUT will keep you unlocked
Re-install your custom recovery according to this guide-http://www.teamuscellular.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=1221

I think if motorola would make it optional as well as add at least more than 2 points of multitouch this would help gaming. There are several games that can use more than 2 touch points.

Remove Bloatware from your Stock {locked} Photon 4G.

Hi , this is my first article and I hope its a good start for me as an Android Enthusiast   . In this post, I am trying to help those user who don't need bloatwares from Sprint or USC etc and want to stick with their stock roms or not interested in such stuffs. I own a Photon 4G Sprint Version that I imported from US and using in India. While doing experiments on that phone I did made him die but with due help from XDA members like Lokifish, mof9336, Acvice, and peetr_, I got my MoPho back. Thanks once again.
So I would request the users thinking of upgrading stock to Custom... think
1. Do you really need that.. ?
2. If yes and then unwanted softwares are the reason. That you dont want to see.
3. or The phone performance is bad or some hardware are not functioning properly {then do try Upgrading with ROMS either official or Unofficial}:cyclops:
Yes Iknow, upgrading to custom rom is good, but it generally comes with warning like Do On your own risk,, If bricked we are not responsible like wranings. But generally these things happens rarely to those who dont follow the steps properly {of course including me }. So to keep your phone as it was and use without any issues,i would recommend you to Root your phone and remove all unwanted softwares.
So lets begin the chapter.
1. The first and Foremost thing is to root your phone. As per my experience if you are on 2.5.4_13 Sprint {locked} .. photon torpedo rooting works perfectly using terminal emulator. You can find tons of tutorials on Photon Torpedo
2. From the Playstore download and install XDA Assistant. Its a all in one utility for rooted phone.
But Still I warn, Uninstallation too has side effects. So if you un-installed any required component... be careful.
----------------------------------- If (this_post==helpful){ thanks++ ;} printf{"You feedback is welcome!!! Come AGain"}----------------------------
Please give more details about which applications are safe to remove

Checking the list I see that SystemUI is listed for the photon. What does that actually do?
