[Q] Attaching a lanyard to this thing - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I read a post earlier this morning about how America doesn't make use of lanyards with phones too often. I really hadn't thought of this, but I think it would be really functional to have my EVO on a lanyard. Is there any way to securely attach a lanyard to the EVO? Perhaps with a thin case with a spot for a lanyard?
I really like this idea, personally.
The phone is so light, it would be awesome.
Modifying the glossy backing with two tiny holes centered above the camera lens may be an option, but a mod like that is something I am not comfortable doing myself. And, how secure would an attachment there be?

that's a good idea. I would try it on the phone case if you bought one

or perhaps, a good question is, who would have replacement glossy backings that I could purchase? Sprint? HTC? I would like to have an extra one to play and put holes in it so I don't ruin the original...

I would highly recommend not doing it through the removable cover! It's not designed to bear any weight or force without popping off the phone. Perhaps it would be better to get a TPU case, cut two holes somewhere on an edge and thread the lanyard through that?

Hermes Carrying Pouch

Hi,
Anyone has any idea where I can get a carrying pouch for hermes without the belt holster? Currently I'm using Krussell's leather case, which is bulky even after i remove the belt clip. There is still the clip adapter that sticks out to make the already "thick" phone even thicker.
What I am looking for is just a pouch that doesnt add to the thickness so much, and that of I can carry around. All of ebay's pouches has a belt clip to it.
Thanks

My wife got fed up with there not being any out there she liked, and made herself one. If you are interested, I might be able to talk her into making one for you...

Hmm,
This is nice and relatively cheaper. Are you using one of these? Mind to share your experience with me? Cause I had a phone with a silicone skin before. It looks great with the skin, only problem was it makes it more difficult for me to get the phone out of my pocket, if you know what I mean.
Thanks

Sorry, I didn't get an email stating there was a response to the thread. I will try to take a picture of it when I get off of work tonight. She basically crocheted a cover that also has a strap so she can hang it around her neck. There is also a little cover flap that can be used for the screen. It's version 1.0, she plans on making a new one. I personally don't like stuff hanging from my neck, but that thing is pretty darn innovative. I will see about posting that image tonight.

Ok, not sure how well this is going to work, but attached are pictures of the pouch my wife made for her phone. If you need any ideas or help with making one, she should be able to help. Also, she used cotton for version 1, she is switching up to acrylic yarn for ver 2, (helps with it not getting so dirty). Hope that helps with some ideas for making your own
Don't use silicone skins, don't like them. I think they usually make a phone look ugly.
Way to go Rif_Luna, your wife is inventive. I somewhat think it looks a bit to retro so.
I would have cut a piece of leather to size, folded it inside out and stitched the sides together. Reverse the leather again so that the nice side is on the outside and you have a crude but snugg fitting leather pouch.
Either make the pouch a bit shorter then the phone or cut U shaped indentations at the top to make it easier to pull the phone out of the pouch.
How does that sound?¿

Hey! That was what I thought too! That's why I've been missing for the past few days. Went around looking to buy a piece of leather at a bargain. I have also thought of modifying my old/current pouches such as removing the belt clip by force, cutting them into parts to be combined and so on, but i figured that the resulting pouch might be ugly.
Haha.

[Review] Zenus Masstige Color Edge Diary Series Royal Navy

Link
Alright, The case the box came is in is kind of girly, anyways the quality of the case is amazing! It doesn't feel like it was cheaply made at all. It doesn't add too much bulk and I can still fit it in my skinnys(Levi's 511 Skinny 29 x 30) front pocket. The buttons are easily accessible even the the volume button being covered by the front flap it is still easy to press / locate since the case has a steep cut out for the volume buttons. Aswell as the S-Pen being so easily accessible. An added perk i liked about this case is that the speaker hole is actually covered by its own mesh. It also has an accessory hole so you could attach an accessory / lanyard to it. The Magnetized kick stand does not interfere with signal(atleast none i can tell).

Zenus cases are the best I've seen so far for the Galaxy Note. I was thinking of getting this one as well but the color combinations just don't do it for me. Also, there's not cutout for the front speaker so it would be a little awkward to have to hold the front leather part back every time. I like that the case clips onto the metal part on the side and doesn't rest on the top of the phone so that a screen guard will thankfully be left untouched. I also love that it has a stand (The only reason I'm not getting the Zenus Masstige Stripe Case). I was wondering though, when the stand is set up, does the little latch (idk what it's called lol, the little thing used to clip on to the front cover to close the case) hide a little part of the screen since presumably, it'll be hanging down a little bit?
EDIT: Ordered it lol. It may have its flaws but it's the best I could find at its price range.
I have one of these (different colors, but this color looks great).
They are extremely high quality. As good or better than Vaja, for instance.
I've posted this before, that make sure you pay more and get the leather ones, as they have a few lines and some of the lines aren't as good quality.
This particular case is just great. The flap is a tad annoying but well worth it overall.
Note: one thing worth mentioning is that they are very light also.
would it be okay to use this case with a FULL skin applied? Ie. sides and back??
i'm sure the front would be okay, but just wanted to see if the sides of the phone with skin be okay.....
i've been looking at cases that have the flip cover, but they all look like it would peel off the side skins..... this one looks like it like it might be okay.

Hmmm...that's a tricky one. Obviously, it clips in tightly and securely so it might damage the skin during insertion and removal but once it's sitting in there, as long as you don't constantly remove it, it should be fine. I would recommend going to a store and testing out either this case or similar leather cases, but then again, if you harm the skin in the process, then this whole discussion is useless lol. On another note, why use a skin? The note is such a beautiful sleek beast. I wouldn't want to hide away any of the sides or take away from the beautiful protruding glass. That's why I hate my current Capdase Jacket XPose and am going for this case. Just increases the beauty XD. Anyways, yes, back on topic, I wouldn't recommend using a skin with this cover but hopefully someone who's actually tried it will reply.
Side-note: I ordered the Wine-Red / Dark Brown version

These Zenus cases look great and seem very usable. But the downside is that they have a magnet at the back that interferes with S-pen functions (not with the signal). Check in the screen area in front of the magnet by trying to draw several long thin lines with the SPen that cross this area. That case was a money waste for me...

I got these symptoms after a couple of days usage. I contacted the dealer and got a substitute with Capsule Stand Slide Series - White / Lime
When I got my Note off CL came with the Eel leather case. It's slick but I wish it was the capsule.

Slippery - Need some way to add grip without a big case?

The 920 feels really slippery to be. I'm sure I'll drop it at some point when using it one-handed.
I don't want a big protective case, but just something to add texture to the back of the phone.
Is there some kind of texturized skin I could stick on? (Ideally with no residue if I remove it)
Or some other rubber that would stick on the back?
Or even a really thin silicon case?
I can't be the only one with this problem, has anyone else noticed this and found a good solution?

I agree that the phone is slippery ... and I started by using a gel case ... which worked, and it had knobby grips on the edges of the case -- and that worked very well to stop dropping the phone (I did that several times before I put the case on it).
Then I tried a phone with the Nokia CC-1043 case ... but that also was too slippery for me. I tried some egrip (they are non sticky things that will "stick" to most any surface ... and if you want something on the back of the phone -- there are pads that are 1" by 2" (about) that would work. However, for me, I wanted something on the edges -- so that I could get it out on the vertical holster that I use. The egrips on the edges did not stay formed along the curve of the case ... so I modified the CC-1043 with some grooves on the edges -- which really works great!
I was going to post some pictures, but I don't have access to a web site for the insertion ... If you send me a private message, I can send you the pictures ...
The grooves were made using a bandsaw with a block of wood taking the place of the phone to provide stability to the case as it was cut ... and there was a block of wood to stop how far into the blade that the case would go, and resulted in a cut that is about 1/2 mm deep ... it provides enough grip to grab the phone out of the case and while holding it -- most of what my hand / fingers are touching are the edges of the phone ...
It depends on which color you have. The blue and red are not as slippery. But I have Ghost armor on mine and it gives it a slightly tacky feel in addition to protecting it from scratches. Mine is red.
I have the black one (matte finish).
Is this the egrips you mentioned? http://www.egrips.com/
It sounds like that might be too much grip. I don't want to have trouble getting the phone into/out of my pocket. I just want more grip so that I don't constantly feel like it's going to fly out of my hand.
I looked at the case you mentioned here and it sounds good: http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-02733P4-CC-1043-Cover-Lumia/dp/B009T8YXCA but having some texture built-in would be nice (as opposed to your DIY grooves).
So I looked at related products and found the following:
http://www.amazon.com/Worldshopping-Black-Matte-Quicksand-Accessories/dp/B00A1Z3U3S/ref=pd_sim_cps_7
http://www.amazon.com/JKase-Premium-Quality-Nokia-Streamline/dp/B00A1UPHYS/ref=pd_sim_cps_17 (the sides of this seem ideal)
http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-Series-Protective-Nokia-Lumia/dp/B009YLCFZY/ref=pd_sim_cps_3 (don't like the color)
http://www.amazon.com/NOKIA-LUMIA-HYBRID-RUBBERISED-COVER/dp/B009YB0P5G/ref=sr_1_1 (mentioned by a reviewer above)
Can anyone speak for those cases? Probably going to make a decision between those 5 in a day or so.
I had a case like the JKase ... and it is OK, but it adds some noticeable weight to the phone ... it is the one with knobby sides ... it has a very thin strip along the front-bottom of the case that is along the micro USB connector and the speakers ... it never was straight, but it also didn't seem to provide much function ... read other posts that said that they cut it off ...
Don't know about the other cases ...
The egrips link that you have are the ones that I tried ... I always use a case and never just in the pocket -- so I don't know if it would cause a problem ...
Like I said, I like the Nokia case after the modification ... before it, it was still at risk of being dropped ...

The cc-1043 cases is matte see my ebay sale!
Electrical tape to a thin plastic case.
Simple, thin, and adds a lot of grip. However, it can cause issues if you work in a very hot environment as the tape will goop and slip. Otherwise, I do this with almost all of my devices.
Add texture to slippery cell phone
To make your phone less slippery, you can add textured stickers to it. The kind that you would put on the bottom of the bathtub to prevent slips.
I bought some good ones at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. You can cut them into any shape you want. They were actually shaped like fish. I cut them into strips and put a few on the back of the phone and on the sides.
You can find them in many colors.
Amazon has a good selection.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Ghost Armor. It's perfect for what you want.
I bought their MatteArmor for the back of my Samsung Galaxy tablet and to provide a matte finish instead of it's slippery plastic.
Increased holdability (made up word lol) and maintains the look of the device because it's transparent and thin.
It's that good I paid to have it shipped from the USA to UK. Lifetime warranty, 30 day money-back guarantee
Here's a link to the Lumia range but they do literally any device.
Just bought silicone case from dx.com. Transparent, back side is matted. Not bad for this price, but flash working incorrect - fills all the frame because case scatters light
I'm a a sailing captain and watch people dropping their phones all the time, breaking glass and going overboard. I looked for a solution and couldn't find on that fit the bill as being easy to use, no installation, fits most phones and cases, so I invented one for me. People wanted one, so I patented it and just started production. Just search CellGrasp in google. You'll find me. Drop me a note and you can check it out at the site. Dropping cell phones is a real and growing problem. CellGrasp is a device that is a solution to the problem. Simple, easy, secure, better pics and vids instantly. Just for your information...

Idea for a premium case

So some people like the idea of the HTC Dot View case and hate it for one reason or the other, however, I had a idea on how to improve on it.
Why not give a metallic back to the case similar to the phones material, but on the inside of the case where the phone is inserted, it has a thin rubber coat to make sure the metals don't scrape against each other or some breathable material so if the device heats up, the case can dispell the heat safely then just rubber absorbing it. Have the same and more color options that the M8 came with.
Keep the front the same as the HTC Dot View case.
Issue is, I cant find a site that could do my idea, and I lack the skills to make such a case. I know it would add slightly more bulk, but I would personally prefer metal over plastic. Anyone know where I could do it?
I have the spigen slim case and It is really good case it feels nice and it is actually a soled case. i think it will be what you are looking for.

[Q] Extra Thin Case with a Lip or Wallet Phone Case?

I am looking for an either or, relatively thin case with credit card slot or just a thin case.

I've been using the Smays case since October. So far, it's done a good job of protecting the phone. It's been dropped numerous times. It was also in my pocket when when I tripped while running and fell. I don't know if it's ever landed on a corner, though.

Do you think if it feel on a corner of the phone that it would be protected? Thank you for the reply.

I have this case. I think it looks nice and doesn't make a big phone even bigger, but needless to say: function > form. Once I dropped my phone face-first onto the sidewalk. I picked my phone up and when I flipped it over to examine the screen, I found a few chips around the corners of the case and one small one on the plastic rim on the front that surrounds the screen.
I think that Smays one is your best bet, unless you'd like the Cyclops one.

I'm not going to try to predict that, but I think it's safe to say that the corners and ends are the least protected parts of the phone when using this case. The plastic cradle that holds the phone extends partially around the corners, so they are not entirely without protection. I can think of some scenarios in which the case might not prevent damage to the phone if it were dropped from a distance of, say, four feet (about 1.2 meters) onto a hard surface, but the phone would have to fall in a very specfic way: face down, with one of the corners making first impact.
I think in most situations, this case should provide adequate protection, but it is not perfect.
