I Need a BIG help to root my device - Sony Tablet S

So I tried EVERYTHING to root my Sony Tablet and nothing!
When I type "adb devices" in ADB Command Prompt it just says
List of Devices Attached and nothing more! It doesn't show my tablet.
The Windows is not recognizing the Sony_Tablet (debug mode) but just the MTP
I tried to install de .inf file (Android Composite ADB Interface) to make it work but the Windows simply didn't let me!
It says "The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file"
Please help me I'm going nuts here!!!

same here -- hash file not present/tampered
What version of Android and what version of Windows are you running?
I am running Win8 RP. I just loaded the Android ADK (4.1).
Trying to connect to a kindle fire:
For "Android Composite ADB Interface"
I get and error: "the hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering."
I am running X64

Dont use windows 8. Use Win XP only! Use the driver found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488822. (credits to BlueChipJ). Open the file android_winusb.inf. Look for the two sections called ";SONY Sony Tablet S" and remove "    " from "%CompositeAdbInterface%". It should now look like this:
;SONY Sony Tablet S
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_054C&PID_05B4&MI_01
Save the file. Use the driver installer provided. Connect the device and try the adb which is provided with the driver. It's best to try this on a fresh computer which doesnt have the adb drivers.
If i have helped you, click the thanks button!

FXP125 CM9 for XPERIA X10 Download Structure

Good evening!
I have been trying to give FreeXperia another chance after over a year, but I can't figure out where in the package is the ROM itself.
I downloaded the file FXP125-cm-9-20120616-UNOFFICIAL-es209ra-KERNEL.7z per the instructions on the development forum. This archive contains the following files:
Code:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 152 juin 16 07:49 config.properties
drwx------ 9 jp jp 4096 juin 16 07:47 custom
drwx------ 22 jp jp 4096 juin 16 07:47 devices
drwx------ 2 jp jp 4096 juin 16 07:47 drivers
drwx------ 3 jp jp 4096 juin 16 07:48 firmwares
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 729 juin 2 14:36 FlashTool
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 144384 juin 2 14:36 FlashTool64.exe
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 3190 juin 2 14:36 FlashToolConsole
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 212992 juin 2 14:36 FlashTool.exe
drwx------ 2 jp jp 4096 juin 16 07:47 loaders
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 2183 juin 13 15:02 stderr.log
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 74905 juin 5 08:03 uninstall.exe
-rw-rw-r-- 1 jp jp 806494 juin 3 14:17 x10flasher.jar
drwx------ 8 jp jp 4096 juin 16 07:48 x10flasher_lib
Based on my previous ROM experience, there should be a .zip file in there to install from CWM or xRecovery. Looking for anything zip related in the archive yields the following result:
Code:
zip.exe
gzip.exe
ffjcext.zip
zipfs.jar
libzip.so
libzip.so
ffjcext.zip
zipfs.jar
zip.dll
ffjcext.zip
zipfs.jar
zip.dll
ffjcext.zip
zipfs.jar
I did find the kernel and was able to flash it and back to my Oodie 7.2 v3 kernel. That part is well covered. I also tried copying the whole archive to the phone and flash it from there, but it is not recognized.
Is there a different way to install this ROM?
Thanks!
Download the zip file

The file is located in es209ra. Put that on your sd card
Follow install guide:

Doh! It makes so much sense. Thanks!
I did it successfully this time. However, the colors are crap, WiFi does not work and the mobile data does not work either. I guess I will have to wait for another couple of weeks before trying again...
here's the fiix for data bug:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22464715&postcount=561
for colour fix:
flash this in cwm : http://icxperia.com/championswimmer/x10-semc-es209ra/aokp/displayfix_FXP121_CM9_es209ra_CWM.zip
Thanks THElogiC! The colors are now OK. However, using the app to correct the APN issue is more difficult. I did find the .apk file on the developer website and copied it to my SD card. However, how can I install it? FXP125 does not come with a pre-installed file manager...
I am facing the same problem if I try to install a new file manager, and since I don't have data connectivity, I cannot install it from Google Play.
Is there any other way to install this .apk?
Thanks again!
---
UPDATE: I found this clever way of doing it...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27511309&postcount=2
But it does not work either.
Code:
20/030/2012 21:30:30 - INFO - Installing ./custom/apps/HiAPN.apk
20/030/2012 21:30:30 - INFO - Installing ./custom/apps/Ghost Commander 1.41.1b5.apk
20/030/2012 21:30:30 - INFO - APK Installation finished
20/030/2012 21:30:41 - INFO - Device disconnected
And the apps still do not show in the drawer...
This is what I will be trying next:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22600260&postcount=247
There's a way you can install apps without using file manger but using browser.
I will post link soon
Right now on mobile

update fails after restoring stock recovery. Weird.
Also the directories still seems to be encrypted after flashing this TWRP. Any trick i'm missing?

I tried to use MTK_Extractor_V2.6.3 to unpack and repack system.img. Then I use SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1804_Win to flash it back. However, I got stuck at fast boot.
It appears that Oreo and earlier has dm-verify. So I tried:
Remove verified tag in the vendor.img at etc\fstab.mt6797 and remove the verity_key file in initrd of boot.img. This go into fastboot.
Just remove verified tag in the vendor.img at etc\fstab.mt6797. This go into a boot loop.
But I still see the same problem. Is there any suggestion on how to proceed? Thanks.
Do you have Oreo on your MTK6797 ? I just purchased a generic tablet said to have v8 on it, when it arrived it was 4.4 spoofed to show 8.0 now I need to upgrade at least to 5 to get my apps to run on it. I'm not familiar with the limitations can the MTK6797 run v8? is this rom specific to the MTK6797 or to the tablet hardware?

Disabling all network features by hacking stock firmware?

Hello
I intend to use an old android phone for 2fa & as a crypto wallet so i want to completely disable networking.
I have a stock firmware zip file, can i corrupt the modem files & install it via android recovery mode?
Does anyone have any decent ideas on how to completely disable mobile data/calling, wifi & bluetooth on a firmware level?

I think editing Android's init.rc file(s) is the right way, will say simply don't start the services in question from within there.
Here is a summary of what Android's init process looks like:
Run init
Parse init.rc files
Parse imported rc files recursively
Triggers a bunch of actions
Starts a bunch of services

Thanks for the advice, I've downloaded Android.Image.Kitchen.v3.7, Can you link to any more information on how to actually do this?
My understanding so far is i need to unpack boot.img from my firmware and then edit the init.rc file before repacking?
I created a BOOTIMG folder then used unpackbootimg -i boot.img -o "BOOTIMG"
But i didn't get an init.rc file just the following files:
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 11 boot.img-base
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 1 boot.img-board
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 41 boot.img-cmdline
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 104,448 boot.img-dt
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 5 boot.img-hashtype
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 11 boot.img-kernel_offset
31/08/2020 12:15 PM 5 boot.img-pagesize

I've come to the understanding that i need to boot into linux as windows will not support the file structure of android firmware.
Does anyone know what services i need to specifically disable to knock out networking or can they link to a good write up on what android firmware services do what?
Found some more information if anyones interested a guide can be found here on unpacking boot/ramdisk files.

Info on init.rc
github com/aosp-mirror/platform_system_core/blob/master/init/README.md
I would also be interested in adding some apks & a custom bootlogo to be installed with the new custom firmware if possible and would appreciate links to any info on achieving these goals.
