Default Internet - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I go into apps and clear the defaults for the stock internet but it always stays checked as default when I back out of the app. I want to be able to pick which internet app I use but I cant figure out why it wont let me. It always goes straight to the HTC Interent, when I wanna use Dolphin. Is there any way to make the clear defaults stick?

In settings go to the app association option and set it there. The apple patent caused the popup menu to go away

Have you tried going to Settings - App association - Web URLs and set the default app to the one you wanted?

How to RESET only program data

I know there is a way to do this but for some reason when I search all i get is how to factory reset the entire phone.
I simply want to restore the app data on my phone so that I can chose what application will do what when pushed.
FOR EXAMPLE:
When you first install Launcher Pro, the phone asks which Launcher would you like to use. After that, there is writing on how to remove that default. I cannot find how to do that.
Any help? I currently have vplayer on my phone, which I do not want to remove and reinstall but I do not want to it be my default player for certain media types.
Thanks
You need to go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Select whatever app you're looking for to clear defaults for, and hit the clear defaults button once you select that app.

do what the guy above me said, or for easier use, download app "cleardefaults"
and then scroll down click clear defaults, click home and you can choose again.

this does not work, even though i put the default as google its still using vlingo when i use it on creating a new message
I was able to switch back and forth. Which messaging program are you using? Verify the settings, restart and then try it?

Does this work only in the multitouch keyboard, or will it work with swype as well?
the messaging program im using is the one that comes with the phone which is "text messaging" i believe, and the default voice input is set to google. and still it doesnt work i rebooted my phone twice.

Setting Internet homepage

I seem to be having a bit of an issue with setting my Internet homepage.
On my other phones I have always been able to go into settings and set my default Page as Google. Co. UK.
I can see the option to do this however when I click on the Internet icon it doesn't load Google. It either just stays on a Page that says 'about blank ' or if I set in the options to use default it loads up an orange website Page. I don't know why it's doing this as I have generic firmware on it (flashed the latest this afternoon) so how orange is the default seems really odd.
Anyhow, basically I want to be able to hit the Internet icon and then the Page that opens is the Google search engine Page.
Any ideas?

-Create a google bookmark
-go to bookmarks list
-hold finger down on google bookmark
-select set as home page option
Hmm, I did as you have suggested however what happens is if for instance I have clicked on the Internet option which opens a tab the first tab that opens is the about blank one. If I then click to open a new window/tab then it opens with the Google Page as I wanted but it then means I have 2 tabs open. On my HTC and other android phones I have owned when I have set my home Page the first Page that opens when I click the Internet icon is what I set it too.
Seems daft that I am having to open it then open a second tab to get what I want.
Must be a bug

kill the browser task from memory, and relaunch it
You could just use the Google search widget as opposed to the internet icon.

Can't remove default app setting

I have a Nook NT 16gb, rooted, stock firmware 4.3 running fine. My problem is I can't seem to clear a default app setting. For example video, it is currently set to the B&N my media app which I did accidentally (it originally asked me which one). Well now I can't remove it. I go into the nthidden settings/applications/all/mymedia but it doesn't say it is set as a default. When I KNOW it is, when I click on a movie in question it fires up the mymedia instead of one the other 3 installed. I tried the clear defaults but nope no help.
Any ideas?
Oh I also tried the "default app manager lite" in the google play store, but nope that doesn't show any defaults set either.

Well looks like like I figured it out. The setting was in the file manager app, not a true "global" setting. I cleared the data for the file manager and lo and behold the selection box reappeared.
I also found that if you are in the original B&N stock file manager system (in the library app) if you log press on a file you have the option to clear the default app setting globally for that file type. It wasn't my problem in this case but could be handy if for some reason the settings>-app-all-clearappsdefaultsettingsinquestion didn't work.

Change Stock Dialer

Been trying to change the stock dialer to True Phone and keep getting sent up blind alleys and going round in cirlcles. Been into Apps - Conigure Apps - Default Apps - Phone App, changed it and the phone still dials out through stock and lists 'no defaults set' in the True Phone app, despite it being listed as the default dialer under Default Apps.
Also, while listed as 'phone' in the app drawer, there is no listing under 'phone' in the app list for the stock dialer, including system apps.
Also tried changing default at app level but settings are greyed out.
Am I missing something obvious here?
Yeah, I'm not sure if there's anything you can do. BTW, as for the phone app, they are in /system/priv-app/LGTeleService, LGTelephony Provider, LGTelecom. Chances are you can't make calls without those tho?
