[Q] Flickering everywhere, looks like 100% bricked.. - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I really need help here.
GT-P7500
Baseband: P7500XXKL4
Kernal: 2.6.36.3
Build: HTJ85B P7500XWLB1
Tried to root it, went okay. Clockworkmod made the recovery mode flicker, almost unable to read anything.
Installed a Rom. Not it wont boot, and guy told me to install a bootloader, did that. Now im unable to read ANYTHING on the screen, and it wont start.
Is there a way to get the Bootloader file again? Tried diffent PDA packages without any luck.

Screenshot attatched.

You need to try my Guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1555984, hope it helps! good luck.

Hey m8. Tried that. but its not just the rolling, its flicker ALL over it.
Welcome screen, Recovery Screen etc..

Do you have GT7500, GT7500D, GT7500M, GT7500R?

Have you gone back to stock you can get the latest stock FW from this list, http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P7500&r=-1#modelsa! I would go with the latest one in that list and see what the out come is!

Its that flickery all the way from start, untill its "ready" to use.
I can use ADB and call out like ADB Devices etc. at it will popup. So its not a hardware malfunction i think?

I know you may have already done this but I have no way of knowing if you are useing the right software or the right method so Lets start from scratch!
Go here http://forums.acsyndicate.net/showt...b-10-1-USA-Retail-WiFi-Only&p=10788#post10788 and click on the first blue download link at the top of the page! save to your desktop then extract your download "sgt10.1_root_unroot.zip" to a new folder on your desktop
Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=3&o=1&m=GT-P7500&r=-1#modelsa and Download
P7500XWLB1 3.2 2012 February P7500OXXLB1 Nordic countries to your desktop extract it to a folder on your desktop.
Put your Tab 10.1 into Download Mode If it is garbled let me know and I can walk you through to download mode!
Open Odin3_v1.85.exe.
Click the PDA button and choose P7500XWLB1_P7500OXXLB1_P7500XXKL4_HOME.tar.md5 from the file you just downloaded.
Plug the USB into your PC
Plug the other end into the Tab
In the Odin Software on your PC the box below ID:COM should be yellow with stuff in it click the start button it will take a few minutes. 1min 59sec for me. once finished the Tab will reboot and do some stuff then it will reboot again to the OS.

- Downloaded them all freshly
- Got into download mode
- Did the PDA thing with P7500XWLB1_P7500OXXLB1_P7500XXKL4_HOME.tar.md5
- It went through the whole process <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
- It restarted
And now there is still flickering.
Through the WHOLE boot process.
Could u somehow extract your bootloader so i can install it with Odin? Cause as what i read, its not hard bricked only soft bricked, due to it goes through the boot process.

If the Tab is already on just hold the power button until it shuts off then immediately move your finger to the volume down button until garble comes up...lol then hit the volume up button until more garble comes up then hit volume up again until mor garble comes up!
you are now in Download Mode!

SGS2 stuck in orange triangle

Help!! My SGS2 is stuck on a screen with an orange triangle and excmamation mark between a cellphone and computer after a ROM flash attempt!
I can go to Downloading mode and Odin can detect my smartphone but i don't know what else to do...
Flash a full (different to whatever you were trying) ROM, problem solved.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
yep, that's just a soft brick.
since you can access DL mode, just reflash with odin and normally problem solved
Haaa, thx all i fixed it! ^^
It took me 5 hours to find out what i had to do and find the stock Firmware tho...
But all fine now
Hello,
I've got the same problem but it seems I can't go into download mode. What am I doing wrong? What else can I try?
My SGS2 is not rooted and was on Android 2.3.3. Kies told me there was an update available to android 2.3.4 so I went for it.
But I'm really disappointed, now my phone is completety stuck on this screen with the phone...orange triangle with exclamation mark (warning)...PC.
EDIT : Samsung Kies proposes to do an emergency recovery, but in the end it also fails.
Fortunately, I took a screenshot before upgrading. See attachment.
Please help me.
kind regards,
Andrew

If your phone is not rooted, you still have your warranty, bring it back to the shop and ask for a new one
I bought it an amazon. But I'd prefer to have a solution right now instead of having to complain.
I continued my quest on the net... Apparently, a usb jig might take me out of this screen and back to the download mode. Can somebody confirm this?

One minus Did you follow the Kies recovery instructions .
One turn off and remove battery for a short period .
Two turn on
Three try recovery mode
Four try download mode ..
Five yes USB jig may enable you to get to download mode and from that you can flash a stock Samsung rom .
Six service centre

Thanks JJEgan. I'll try once more and let you know. Assuming that I am able to get in download mode, why should I use a stock kernel and not the normal firmware I had before? Sorry about my question, but this is all new for me.
A USB Jig should be standard equipment for anybody who flashes their Galaxy phone, IMO.

Download Odin, download stock ROM, use Windows Task Manager to kill any Kies-related processes. Then turn off the phone, turn it back on in download mode and flash using Odin. Do not tick repartition and do not use the PIT file if the stock ROM comes with one.
Hi,
Thanks to this forum I managed to bring my SGS2 alive again step by step after that Kies broke it during the android upgrade from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4... Moreover, I am in the official 2.3.4 version now without using Kies!! ;-) Here's my story:
In the end, I was able leave the screen with the "phone..orange warning triangle..computer". and I was able to go in download mode without a usb jig. You have to press the 3 keys (volume down, home, and power on) quite a few seconds without releasing them. And then the download warning menu appears, press volume up to confirm that you want go go in download mode. And I was in "download mode'. Anyway, I will buy a jig ;-)
I tried once more the emergency recovery with samsung Kies without success. Failed.
Then with Odin I had problem. It was stuck at step "setup connection". Kies was not running and was not visible in the system tray. Though in the task manager, I still had 2 Kies* processes. Kiestrayagent.exe and another one starting with Kies and 4 letters (sorry I didn't write it down). I killed both processes. One step further... Then Odin was stuck on step complete(write) operation failed. Never found why. I tried several times, battery in and out again, without success. This was on a Win7 32bit. Latest Kies version.
In the end I installed Odin on another PC Win7 64bits. I had to install Kies also on it otherwise Win7 says "no driver found" when you plug in the usb cable of the SGS2. And on this computer, flashing with Odin worked perfectly.
Thanks again to all people who helped me + also thanks to this super forum where I could find the official firmware I needed after that Kies broke down my phone.

No need to worry about it.
Uninstall the drivers associated with the phone. Are you using Windows?
For XP: Go to start > Control Panel > System > Click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. Find the driver for the phone. I remember it has a yellow icon, and the drivers name is a mix of capital letters
It's probably similar for Windows 7, but i wouldn't know.
Uninstall the driver associated with the phone, then reinstall by plugging your phone into the computer in download mode. It would help to uninstall and reinstall Odin as well, just in case.
If you get Odin to work, just work away like you would.
Thanks for your reply, i have uninstalled the drivers, but when i plugged my phone back in, the drivers are not being installed and i can not find them on the internet. Any ideas?
I know how i messed up, i completely forgot to root my phone before i started to flash, any ideas on how i can just get my phone back to its normal working everyday self?
Will i just need to get the device recognised by Odin then insert the Ops file and the I5500.tar file and flash it back to stock?
edit- managed to get drivers installed, now how do i fix my phone? Just flash the .OPS and the stock I5500.tar file?

I think it'll fail again if your phone isn't rooted. You can't get rid of the Computer-Caution-Phone image without succesfully using Odin.
You could try to flash the .tar and .ops file again. I can't see it working though unfortunately.
Any ideas then? Is there a way to root my phone via Odin or anything?

I've never heard of rooting your phone through the download mode or through Odin.
Maybe there's a file you can put on your phone through Odin which doesn't require root? I'll take a look around for you.
Thank you so much, i appreciate it, I'm 16, can't really live without a phone especially with college parties coming up in the next few days aha, I knew i shouldn't of risked around with flashing again!

Just thinking that Odin is a program which requires root so there won't be any file you can transfer when unrooted. I had a quick glance over at the Odin thread, and the first step is that you have to root your phone.
I'm sorry, but there's nothing else I can think of which might help. Maybe if somebody with a bit more knowledge/expeerience sees this thread, they might help.
Can Odin detect your phone?
Ah man, thanks anyway, yes Odin detects my phone, I'm trying to use SuperOneClick Root on my PC- Do you know any other Root software that works on PC?

I don't know of any others, but Superoneclick works fine for the Galaxy 5. Like I said, I've never heard of using it during download mode so just be careful with that.
If Odin detects your phone, have you tried just closing Odin and plugging out the USB safely?
Can't use Superoneclick as my phone isn't in USB Debugging and i obviously can't change that aha I have just tried that, no luck with the closing Odin and unplugging it, should i try installing CWM again or is that a bad idea?

It's a bad idea because it just won't work. Odin will crash again.
I don't know what to do I'm afraid.
Looks like my phone is shagged due to my own stupidity, I forgot to root it because my phone was previously rooted and it went back for repairs, then I completely forgot i didnt install Root access -.-
Do you think i can recover my phone or is it well and truly gone?
Well it's not like your phone is bricked or anything. It's just broken a connection to Odin and it won't boot until it's completed.
You could always return it for repairs again. Your warranty might be broken though.
If I happen to come across a DIY fix then I'll post it here.
Thanks for your help mate, i've decided to just send my phone back for repairs, buy a new phone (Probably a Blackberry for BBM and stuff with all my mates), and sell my phone once i get it back.I have gave up on Samsung mobiles.
Thank you.
Did you send your phone alredy? Uncompress the firmware.tar file and unselect "one package in Odin" . On the boot in odin select the boot file of the .tar and run odin. Maybe that will help

Hi, had the very same issue as you. Odin crashed just few sec after start. What I did ; uninstalled everything (Odin & files comes with it, KIES). Then restart PC, go to Samsung.com and download latest KIES, when downloaded go to Tools and check for updates. Accept/run them, when done restart PC. Now, read the steps bellow, and see the attached picture.
1. Extract Odin v4.28 and Ops File.zip I5500XXXX.rar
2. Open Odin v4.28,
- Select OPS tab: EUROPA_v1.0.ops
- Make sure Auto Reboot & Protect OPS selected in Option tab
- get this I5500XFJPQ from samfirware.com ( for some strange reason only this package worked!), download, and unzipp to folder called GT-I5500. In to this folder place Odin and ops as well.
- Make sure One Package selected in Option tab
3. Turn off phone, remove battery for 5second, put it back
4. Hold "Volume Down, Center button & Power button" in the same time to enter Download Mode (yellow triangle)
5. Connect to PC with USB cable
6. When the data line and the phone connection is successful, com port shows yellow in Odin
7. Press Start on Odin
8. Waitin & Pray!
9. PASS, its done!
*Hard reset after flashing *2767*3855#
*Check ur Phone Info *#*#1234#*#*
Note: my i5500 was rooted, so if was yours then ok. When pressing buttons you must see an yellow triangle! If you don't see it don't try connect. Remove battery for 3-5 minutes and try again...
Thanks for the replies, I've got my 'broken' phone in its box on my wardrobe, Carphone Warehouse have ordered me a brand new G5 to replace mine, I should get that sometime next week, but I'm buying a HTC Wildfire S pretty soon anyway!
Thanks for your help, I'd rather keep my broken phone well, broke aha.
Have you tried flashing twrp recovery then using cf-autoroot?

Odin and whatever you're trying to flash can wait - gotta get your phone working again, but it doesn't look good at the moment...
You cannot turn your phone on at all, right? Not download, not recovery, not normal startup?
Does anything happen when you connect the battery charger?

Root + CWM .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Read the instructions in full .
jje
Good. As jj said, follow that guide - every letter - and you should be OK.
Let us know how you get on.
Unzip the attached CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.zip.. then comes out CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.tar
?? right?
but why CF-Root-SGS2_XW_CLK_KF3-v4.0-CWM4.rar.. and when I extract comes out zImage with 8,192kb??
is it correct or i should change the name??
coz its say nothing about it???
You don't need to extract to the zimage yet, one step at a time!
Unzip the rar, load the .tar on Odin. Sounds like you've extracted the original file twice.
Edit - KF3 is old, but carry on with it, you need to practice before you flash new firmware.
CWM step stuck
before this step im okay
but, this one im not understand..
Instructions - If you already have CF-Root
- Copy the zip file to your SD card(ok)
- Stop sharing SD card with computer over USB, unplug the cable, etc(ok)
- Applications -> CWM -> Flash kernel. Select the ZIP file on your SD card.( i cant find in my applications, but there are cwm icon in menu along with superuser.. what should i do? or its the correct one??)
- Done
Sounds like you're rooted now, you get options when you press the cwm icon?
thx.. its rooted now..

i will ask u if any other problem

Are you sure you have I9100 phones, and not I9100G phones?
Check the label under your batteries.
I9100 firmwares and kernels do not work on I9100G, and vice versa.

Get into download mode and flash a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com. Make sure you have the i9100 and not I9100G model.
And make sure you know what you're doing before you do anything. It seems like you don't have a clue if you are missing up two phones.

[GUIDE] how to bring back to life dead nexus 6p , hard brick.

i hard brick my phone yesterday. trying to flash bootloader with flashfire. (the lazy way) thats what i get. anyways could not turn on n6p, tried charging it for a couple of hours, try holding power button for 30 seconds, try power + volume . tried holding all buttons. nothing work.. read some threads saying its done. look for new phone or send to get repair. then i found tenfar thread. long story short. i used some of tenfar info and rwj5279955.. so big thanks to these two users
here is what i did to get my N6p to turn back on.. brick by bootloader.. this is my first how to .. bear with me. please.
you will need the following https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By19rrbnQfVUVFZEVUZqQzY1RWs/view?usp=sharing
Qualcomm drivers
QFIL software
3 files, patch0, prog_emmc_firehose, rawprogram0 .. for this to work
1. install qualcomm drivers, Connect phone to pc, open Device Manager. if you see under com port Qualcomm USB loader or something along those lines. your good, go to step 2. if not disconnect phone hold power button for 10 seconds, wait for 5 seconds connect phone to pc. check if in com ports you see Qualcomm drives. if you can not get qualcom drivers on com port. just stop. its not going to work..
2. extract the three files. in a folder somewhere easy to remember.
3. install the QFIL software, . once install run QFIL.
4. in QFIL software
if qualcomm driver are found it will say on top of QFIL software Qualcom USB loader 9008
Select Build Type: click Meta Build
Select Build :: patch0 ... if for some reason patch0 doesnt work try rawprogram0
Select Programmer:: pro_emmc_firehose
hit download ...if the blue bar get to half way mark your golden. its going to always fail. the trick is to get the blue bar at least half ways. then you disconnect phone, hold power button, it should turn on.. then you ADB what ever you need to do.
for those that get the fail right away.. while phone connected to pc, hold power button until drivers disappear from device manager.. then disconnect phone, wait for 5 seconds, hold power button, for 10 second,.. wait for 5 seconds .. then connect phone back to pc, wait for device manager to see drivers.. then hit the download button . do this part over and over again ..until it works..
sorry for this horrible guide.. it work for me.. hope it works for you..
That's a lot to take in! Is this for windows only then not Linux? Bootloader and radio does have to be flashed via fastboot

Hello thank you so much for your guide, currently trying to unbrick my nexus 6P stuck in 9008 port, could you provide a link for your version of Qfil please? as I'm struggling to find your 2.0.0.2 version I either get 1.0.0 or 2.0.0.3 and they're not working
Update: I've found the version! However when I quick Meta build and attempt to locate XML there's nothing I can select? sorry if this is really simple just never done before thank you

place the files in a folder.
then in QFIL brows to the folder
need to select build path first.
What type of brick does this fix? Is this for the big one " boot loop of death" that's been well covered?
I ask out of curiosity. My phone's unaffected (knock wood)

I have done as stated, however when attempting to select build after clicking META BUILD, I have to change the browsing options to ALL FILES from META BUILD CONFIGURATIONS otherwise I can't find anything?
Once selected Patch0, I proceed to select programmer path, but then my download content isn't clickable please?

Can't select anything, am i using wrong version of Qfil perhaps or isn't that an issue as it's the newst?
I click load content and I can't view the files I'm supposed to be selecting

Thank you so much! I messed up my 6P when I tried to flash a bootloader image via Flashfire. I hadn't been in a brick this bas since the good old days of Gingerbread and ROM Manager! For anyone else having similar issues, I got my dead 6P to be recognized as QHSUSB_bulk eventually in Windows 7. I then edited the rawprogram0.xml file (from OP's link) in a text editor. I removed the entries for all the other partitions I didn't want to overwrite (like system and vendor and userdata), leaving only the sbl1 (secondary bootloader, the part of the firmware that actually boots into the system/recovery/bootloader when the device is first powered on) partition entry - because that's what Flashfire said it had flashed the entire bootloader image to. Doing a bit of research, I found that our bootloader image is actually just many different small partitions all grouped together into a single image file. I couldn't figure out how to unpack the bootloader image, so I downloaded a full firmware OTA zip from Google, and lo and behold, there was a "bootloader.sbl1.img" (along with other small partitions) file in the OTA zip. I changed the sbl1.img entry in the rawprogram0.xml file so that it correlated with the filename "bootloader.sbl1.img", I moved the image file into the same folder as the rawprogram0.xml, and then I was able to restore my device to it's previous functionality using the "flat build" download configuration in QFil, though the whole process did take me like 3 hours. Lesson learned - screw using Flashfire for bootloader images.
ERROR: Could not access "C:\temp\vendor.img" with access mode 'rb'
When I'm finally lucky, rebooting, replugging the phone, it looks like it might flash...
...then I see this.
I've given all permissions to all users for full control, on the file, I've run time program as administrator, I don't know what else to do. If it can't open the file, I can't flash my phone. I'm not a Windows administrator so I don't really know what to do to get this to work and I can't find any hints on the forums.
