New RAZR, black blotches on black screens - Motorola Droid RAZR

Been setting up the new phone and the black screens show blotching on two edges and throughout the screen.
Would you guys replace and would they give me a new non refurbished one?
Cool phone but damn!
The haptic feedback feels sloppy too compared to my DROID Charge.
Looking at gray screen shows the pentile matrix.
On any screen that is not black the colors show no indication that blotchy marks are underneath.

Again > These black dots on almost every S-Amoled Screen. That's glue from The Building process of the Display. Even an replacement would have them, just on an other Position
I got them, too. Just search the Forum, you're not the first one with that Question.

[Q] The gap between the screen and the bezel on galaxy s3

Hey,
I was watching the videos and the hands-on pictures of galaxy s3 and i noticed that there's an ugly gap between the screen and the bezel and its really bothering me, especially on the white version of the phone. Can anyone tell me why is it that way? I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find any so i decided to ask it here.
Thanks for the replies in advance.
I thing every phone has this black gap
not as much as s3
I too noticed the gap and it is much more visible in white sgs3 than blue. lets see what the s3 users say
It's there, but I don't even notice unless I focus on it. The screen is way to good to focus on a small black gap.

I didn't realize it was there until reading this post ;-) Non-issue IMO.
BTW I have the white SGIII.

you know i was deciding to change my mind and wait for pebble blue color bcoz i thought that gap would be an issue. Thanks for clarifying.
Literally didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I have the white and its fine. Probably less noticeable on the blue.

but its so visible lol howcome you didnt notice that 0_o
Have you held a S III in your own hands yet? Videos/photos don't show the real beauty of the phone. Don't be so quick to judge

I noticed the gaps on my first S3, i went for a replacement this morning because of very obvious spots on my display under black background. Suprisingly, the new unit does not have gaps between the bezel and screen. It fits nicely.
I hade this gap too, should i return it ? I have a smaller One side of the bigger that are under the home button
I had this gap on my White S3, its like screen was coming off and i can see small amount of glu coming out of it.
i went back to shop and exchange with new one which is fine no issues now.
I too never noticed the gap until this thread...not an issue IMO (I have a white S3)
Sorry to revive this thread but I also have this under my home button (though not nearly as bad as mani79 had). I just see a small "ridge" between the screen and plastic bezel.
The display model at my local AT&T store has it as well.
in having a look at my white s3, i dont have any issues whatso ever, not even a small amount of lifting or seperation. Must just be luck of the draw
Notice the ridge between the chrome and glass in this stock photo? That's what I'm talking about. That little ridge.
just check, mine looks ok
I have the pebble blue version and a small gap on the bottom - it isnt noticeable though but I will keep an eye on it as I wont be happy if it starts filling up with dust and becomes unsightly.
This phone has a gap similar but slightly worse than mine. Notice the gap on the right and bottom of the screen.

[Q] screen color issue

Hi. I noticed that the colors of the screen of my i9300 is not uniform. For istance, when I load a full white page, the top of the screen is lightly blueish/greenish than the bottom. Do you have the same issue? Is it normal? It is not the angle of view. Thanks
I do seem to have a very mild case of this, but only noticable on a white screen. The top of mine is very slightly yellower than the bottom.

Issues with screen?

Is anyone having issues with their screen? When I have mine on low brightness and its on a grayish background, I notice this black curvy line going up n down the right side of my screen. When i turn the brightness back up, its no longer there. When I open up SMS restore or Tweetings, I notice it. Also when I have a gray background on Tapatalk I notice it. Is my screen messed up?

A pic would most likely help us see what you're talking about.
I mean a screen shot won't help because it might be the screen itself. I tried a screen shot but it won't show up

People on other forums said it's the glue under the screen. I have a small black mark right below the Samsung logo. I also had ALOT under my razr hds screen.
Sent from my rooted galaxy note 2... U mad?
Sounds like the basic AMOLED manufacturing blotches. Every AMOLED screen I've ever owned has these. It had me very nervous to buy the Note 2, and mine aren't in yet they'll be here Thursday, but man I have quite the eye for these things and I checked my younger brother's phone his screen is flawless.
All those times I flamed hard on AMOLED screens and was in denial when people said their screen didn't have the issue, they really might not of. I fear however even today with the newest iteration of Super AMOLED HD manufacturing that to have a screen without the black spots and lines, is an exception to the rule rather than the rule itself.
Sucks but not much you can do about it. If you have no dead pixels I would strongly recommend ignoring the line at all costs. Dead pixels are far more annoying imho.
Yeah mines got lines all the way down. Gonna try and exchange it at Verizon. Don't know how that'll go...

[Q] Lightbleed Problem

Hi everyone,
Finally got my brand new phone from Walmart Wireless in the mail yesterday. Got a heck of a deal during Thanksgiving. The only problem is that this phone has some light bleed at the bottom right hand corner along with 2 small specks which I thoght was dirt but is probably dead pixels. The dead pixels can only been seen on a black screen for some reason and doesn't show up when the screen is red, blue or green. The phone isn't even activiated it and I'm debating whether I should return this or just live with it. What do you all think? To be honest, the screen is so bright on this phone, the only time I can tell that there is a defect is when it's on 100% brightness against a black screen. I'm just worried that my replacement could be worse? What is everyone else seeing?

Yes, it seems that there is screen bleed along the bottom edge of the screen. Which I can deal with, but alongside the right hand side, I find it a little annoying when watching movies in the dark. Anyways, they're sending out another one to me and I guess I'll keep the better of the two...

[Q] Visable Digitizer Grid

Having read of all the quality issues of the Z2 I am now overly concerned to make sure that mine is as it should be.
Build quality is spot on, speakers are great and screen is excellent.
The only thing I want to check is whether it is normal to be able to clearly see the digitizer grid on the screen when turning it to an angle with light shining on it.
Having been used to AMOLED screens for the last few years this type of screen is new to me so am wondering whether it is just part of the technology used for the screen.
Any piece of mind is appreciated.

I have noticed that yesterday when using it on bright sunlight. At certain angle you can see small dots. It isn't too bad, though...

I had s3 before and I only see screen matrix in both devices.

I have a Nexus 4 right now which has an IPS display and I can say that I can see my digitizer grid when in direct sunlight. I'll be receiving my Z2 in a few weeks and I would expect it to be the same.
Thanks guys for your wisdom. I did think it may have been due to the technology used rather than a defect but wanted a second opinion.
By the way it is a fantastic phone [emoji6]

I also have this and it's slightly annoying. I think I'll just let it go
Have found a solution to the grid issue...throw away the Sony supplied screen protector and put a different one on.
It seems the Sony supplied one has a matte finish which as well as making the screen look dull it also shows up the grid lines.
Have just changed it for a cheapo one and the grid lines are barely visible and the screen is a lot more vibrant

I thought they dropped the screen protector on the z2; I'm talking about the plastic film with the Sony logo printed.
Can you give me some precisions ?
You're correct, there is no plastic film with the Sony logo on the Z2 but they do give you a screen protector in the box. It seems to be an anti glare one that I found considerably dampens the quality of the screen.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Ok thanks
I didn't notice the screenprotector in my box.
Just wrote a lengthy message but tapatalk somehow messed it up.
I'll just say that I don't use a screen protector and I can see the grid in bright lighting (basically anywhere in public, schools, malls etc.), and in direct sunlight I also see the dots.
I compared the screen with a S4, S3, iPhone 5S and C and some other cheaper phones, and the grid wasn't visible in any of them. In that lighting I could however see the grid and the dots in my Z2's screen. Not pleased. Also a friend with a nexus 5 said he has no such problems.
I think I can see the grid way too easily. In bright light and brightness at 100% I can see them even when the screen is on when the phone moves and catches a ray of light.
The next few days will determine wether I can live with this issue or nor. At the moment it isn't looking so good.
