[Q] Photo While Recording - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've searched everywhere, and can't find the answer.
Does someone know how to enable taking photo's while recording?
I had it there when I first got my phone and its not longer there.
I have a feeling, someone disabled it when they were checking out my phone.

Turn off anti-shake in video settings and you'll see a little camera icon back.

Great Thanks.

Camera very slow

Hello, I am really starting to find it annoying how slow the camera is to open, I am not sure whether it is a problem with just me or whether it is a problem with the Sony software.
However, when I open the camera, it sticks on a black screen for a good 4 seconds before actually showing the camera, then when moving the camera around it is really laggy and blurry - with other phones such as any HTC the camera seems really smooth when moving it around.
Does anyone else experience this problem? And does anyone know a fix for it?
I was wondering whether downloading Vignette or something might help?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Just tried the Vignette demo and it seems it does not lag, however it does not have a video option and seems a bit over complicated for my simple needs, anyone know any other good camera programs on that market?
I found the camera to be slow as well. I did a lot of tweaking on my phone (root, uninstall timescape, bloatware, enabled JIT) and now the camera and the phone in general is faster.
yes!!! camera is very laggy .... plus my camera button shuts down the camera.apk ....now i can only get a picture using "on screen" clicking option....
[Q]Now why have a camera LED and it does nothing for the camera?...so silly I find
I have done everything rbenz suggested apart from remove TimeScape as I am worried this will conflict when using other apps.
Does anyone know of a decent 3rd party camera application please?
Surely someone has found a decent app, please let me know if you have
me too....when you move the camera while video recording it lags so much and this lag is also seen during playback of the same video, also opening takes years

little annoying spot on camera

Unfortunately, to help me you have to download the vid. I don't have an acct on youtube to upload it or set it up there (The file isn't huge anyway) any help would be appreciated!
If you watch the recording, on the top left of the video there's this little white spot.. and I believe it's a software issue. First of all taking pictures - That dot is NOT there. It's only there when I use it to record.
Second, I tried a diff camera app (this one is really weird) such as "lg camera" and if I record using that app, it's there. The WEIRD part is IF I record once, stop it, change to camera mode and then back to camcorder mode, the spot will go away.. I'm assuming it isn't dust or anything under the lense (I hope!) and if anyone knows anything about this.. I'd really appreciate the help! I won't die if it's there, I use the camera a lot more than recording, but the quality is surprisingly pretty decent for the atrix and I'd like to start using it if I can get rid of this dot!
Thanks

fix for video recording problem

Hi everybody.
I have seen threads like this but i did not find an useful answer.
So i have a lot of lag when recording videos due to continuous autofocus.
Somebody said that the camera apk from captivate does not have laggy video recording. If that is true, could somebody post it here? I am looking for possible solutions to avoid taking the phone into service. I am also wondering if there is anybody else with this problem.

[Q] record video while running other app?

I just got my new galaxy note (i717) on friday (immediately flashing it with OnlyOne beta 2 (ics)) and I would like to use it for a bit of podcasting using the front camera to record myself while I read text from some teleprompter software.
I can record video from the front camera just fine, and it actually comes out a bit higher quality than I expected even, but for the life of me, when i hit the record button and then switch away from the camera app to the prompter app, it gives me an audio notification that the camera has stopped recording.
is there prompter software that has an integrated video recorder? (that'd be pretty sweet imho) or better, some way to record video while another app (that's not particularly resource intensive) is in use? - I don't mind trimming and cutting the video together (there are actually some pretty decent editing tools for android i've found) but I can't figure out a way to record and prompt at the same time...
does anybody have any ideas?
I'm rather surprised that nobody seems to have any ideas on this... could someone at least please relay to me why this isn't possible (if it's not possible)?
I would think that this would be a reasonably popular thing to do (recording video whilst looking at a prompter or even a web page or something to do podcasting stuff...
Is this something I'm going to have to write? (I have no idea how to dev android apps).
well i'm glad to see that google does a good job at finding appropriate threads - here it is, a couple of months later, and I'm revisiting the same problem that I had before - I still can't record and prompt at the same time on my i717 (now running cm9 / cm10, not that it should matter)... I still don't get it.
i don't know what to say , u searched a program on google?i believe that is here at least 1 program for your note
Video app with built in teleprompter
There is a great teleprompter/video recording app. It's called VRT2. Unfortunately you would have to downgrade to an iPad to get it. When I saw it, I was tempted o make the switch, but I don't want to give up the advanced features of my Samsung Note 10.
I'm hoping that a great Android app developer will create something like the VRT2 soon.
When it's ready, I'm ready to buy it.
I still can't seem to find anything that does this and it would be *great* for quick video podcasting... I just want to be able to record myself on the front camera while either reading my notes or looking at a teleprompter with the outline i've created for the segment.
Video recorder teleprompter
Have you found any other software to video you with front facing camera with teleprompter on screen?
I know Ipad have one on itunes costing somewhere 24 dollars or £18 which is a professional one, not tried it but I now it does record you and at the same time has all the words you want to talk about in front of you.
Keep up to date, I don't know which tablet to buy because of this problem.

Timeshift Video?

Alright so I got my Z2 yesterday and I was eager to try Timeshift Video but I can't get the hang of it. I record a video and it saves it as 120fps in Album and then that's it. I can't seem to find the option to selectively slow down parts of the video in edit mode before saving it. Can anyone help me? I'm most probably missing something here. :/

Click to collapse
It has to show up the "slow-down interface" right after you took the video.
That's weird, I don't get that at all, it just skips to being able to record a new one..
Any idea why?
Edit: fixed it, I had disabled movie creator app and that's where it was. Working now
