[Q] Aerial/antenna for Mini Pro - CRC9 connection near speaker? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi everybody,
I'd like to boost 3g reception on my Mini Pro
I removed the little black sticker near the rear speaker:

And there was a little gold connector which looks a bit like a CRC9 connector (used by mobile broadband dongles, etc):
So what is it? I've noticed that there's some empty space between the battery and the battery cover (due to the curvature of the battery cover) so it would be nice to either fit a little aerial in there or even hook it up to an bigger, external aerial when the signal is really bad...

I found an accessory to place under the battery to boost the reception signal. http://www.cellularfactory.com/det.jsp?d=1316&c=612330
It claims to be a "passive device designed to capture stray radiation in the body of the cell phone and to re-radiate the signal to improve the phones reception"
I will buy this to try it. Any thoughts of other ways to boost the signal reception?
Thanks!!!
Those are widely known to be a scam, it's the equivilent of putting an apple sticker (incidentially my old iphone came with one) on it and saying it suddenly supports iOS.

[Q] ONEX+ Back Cover Connector (OFF-TOPIC)

I've been looking around the web at the various information avaiable for the OneX+ and in pictures of the back side of the device there are 5 dots which look like metal spots for charging maybe, or a dock or something. Can anyone confirm what those are for? The pin out for a micro USB end has 5 connections, could it be a USB connection for a dock?

Att one x has same thing.
Sent from my EVO
I think all 'one' series phones have this except ours, which is obviously a little different than the others. They are dock connectors.

[Q] Can't read sim card

My friend has a Verizon Casio Commando C811. He brought it to me after running over it with his bus. I replaced the LCD/digitizer assembly (which was a major pain as compared to other phones) it works fine except now the phone isn't reading the sim card., Before I go tearing back into this thing, does anybody know what the problem is?
Maybe it's damaged?
was working before it was taken apart. The ribbon cable that goes to the sim card wraps around one edge of the motherboard to attache on the other side. All of it looks great. I didn't need to disconnect it in order to remove the motherboard. Since then I have. and reseated it to make sure.

Just as an FYI- the unit isn't MTCB
this cable is called an idc 34pins, if they are 0.1" pins spacing, i know there is 0.075" spacing too or even less spacing ... you have to use a caliper to find the center pins spacing
you can make your own cable extender with male and female connectors, but you have to be very careful of the connectors orientation, you may damage your unit.

Question Any way to connect official keyboard with rubbed cover ?

Hi everyone, I own a Mi Pad 5 pro with the official keyboard. But... I like to use it with a more hard cover, that also has the holes for the keyboard, but of course, they don't touch in any way... Then, I was wondering, that maybe "already exist" (as the cover has the holes for the keyboard) some way to connect them, some kind of cable that connect them, or another way ?
Any ideas ?

Trim the 3 silicone holes and make it one big hole. Use a sharp boxcutter razor.
That should help a lot.
