Hybrid rom rc6.2 statusbar - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Im running DaGr8 rc6.2. I am trying to change the icons like clock, wifi, 4gLTE, etc. to blue ics icons. Could someone show me which I can safely install/flash running in 180dpi tablet mod. I found few (although not ics blue) but was scared to try because I read flashing incompatible theme(?) can result in wipe and reflash rom. I can't afford to lose my settings and start over. I have made nandroid backup but last time I tried restore (on Saurom back to earlier version of Saurom) I had trouble did notwork. Anyways if anyone can post a link that'd be great. Thanks!
First time posting with xda app.. Pretty neat I will give support premium.

I apologize if this should have been posted in Q&A. Regardless, could someone please answer?

Can't you use uot kitchen? For that? ..its very simple and you can pic from many icons available?

I spent last hour searching for uot kitchen.. I see people talking about theming with it. However I can't see the how to. What do I do? And again this is for the Hybrid ROM RC6.2? Please let me know

[Theme] Slightly Better Gingerbread 2.6 for Bionix-v 1.2.1 (Plus Goodies) *2/11/11*

Slightly Better Gingerbread for Bionix-v (1.2.1)For a more authentic Gingerbread experience (or not) in Bionix-v. Plus addons!
As seen on Androidspin (2.1 beta). Thanks Stormy!
To be honest, you can hardly call these themes. There were just a few small things about the Nero/Bionix-v series that bugged me, so I fixed them and decided to share them with you! All I did was modify the Bionix-v framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk to do the following, nothing else has been changed.
Disclaimer:
I do my best to thoroughly test and make sure my themes and updates as universal as possible. That being said, not every flash is perfect. Issues with my themes/updates in the past have been rare, and easily recoverable, but that may not always be the case. Just as with any other updates you apply to your device, you're taking a small risk; That risk can grow when negative factors are added, e.g. human error/misjudgment, bad downloads, bad flashes, etc. I make these updates in my spare time, and offer them to anyone interested, however I am not responsible for damaged software, hardware, or any lives that brutally fall apart after flashing my updates. Please make sure you fully understand what you're doing, and the steps to reverse it if necessary, before applying these updates. XDA is a valuable source of information, simple searching/reading threads will often help you find a solution.
Apply SBG:
Unless you'd like to test compatibility with another ROM, please make sure you're running Bionix-v 1.2.1.
If you've applied any other themes or Metamorphs to your ROM in the past: Download Theme Restore, and flash with ClockworkMod Recovery. (Be patient, it will take several minutes to reboot.) Otherwise you may skip this step.
Chose your preferred version of SBG below. Download and flash with ClockworkMod Recovery. (Be patient, it will take several minutes to reboot.)
Just as with all my updates, it is unnecessary to disable Voodoo before flashing.

Download Theme Restore for Bionix-v 1.2.1
Restores original Bionix-v 1.2.1 framework.

Download SBG 2.6 "H" Edition + Flying Transition Animations

Reported working on the following ROMs:
This version is currently untested on anything other than Bionix-v 1.2.1. If you know what you're doing, please report back to me. Don't forget to make a nandroid backup!
Change Log:
SBG 2.6
Ported to Bionix-v 1.2.1
That's it! I've been lazy lately.
SBG 2.5
Ported once more to Bionix-v.
Improved GPS animation.
Improved GB style tabs in some applications.
Added back TWiz text selection and toast frames.
SBG 2.4
Ported yet again to Nero v5.
Added some new GB style icons to TWiz Quick Settings.
SBG 2.3
Ported to Nero v4.1.
Adds Jocelyn's accurate battery mod.
Adds my five bar signal strength mod, themed to look exactly like GB.
Themed TWiz Quick Settings in status bar to look more like GB.
WiFi signal strength displays properly.
This list would be longer but a lot of my changes from 2.2.2 already made it into Nero v4.1.
Addons/Older Versions/More Customization:
From now on I'll be using birgertime's ACS Java application for all addons, older versions, and eventually more ways to customize your experience. I'll also include betas, requests and minor updates. I'm still in the process of getting everything I'd like on there, but it's starting to look pretty good! If there's anything you'd like to see on there, or if you have any contributions, please don't hesitate to ask/share in this thread. I feel this application has a lot of potential! Don't forget to thank birgertime, and leave him feedback!
Thanks/Credz:
sombionix and Team Whiskey for the base of all my themes (so far).
jocelynmallon of Team Whiskey for her accurate battery graphics.
birgertime for his ACS application, and for providing me a repo, plus server space!
My loyal crew for answering questions in my thread, and keeping me sane.
Anyone else who's helped me out along the way, feel free to PM me if you think I've forgotten you!
If you enjoy, appreciate, or find anything I (or anyone else for that matter) posted helpful, please don't forget to click thanks. I know I'm not developing ROMs, but it does take some effort to make these, and to share everything. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
If you really wanna make me happy you can set up a Dropbox if you don't already have one by clicking the link. You'll love it anyway, I promise.
(Not to mention you can wirelessly transfer files between your phone and computer from anywhere if you download the Android client.)

happy to see i am not the only one putting a little effort into the framework apk. i am just glad that nero v3 has my fully black notification bar. i am going to add a few of my customizations to mine soon. gonna try a few ideas. i most likely wont have the skills it takes to post anything for a week or so. thanks for the extras!

This is just to make it look a little more authentically Gingerbread, and clean it up a bit. Nothing flashy for now, but I might mike something a little more exciting based off this. I'm open for suggestions! Anyone else is more than welcome to use this as a base for their themes as well. Make sure you don't flash any themes made from older versions of Nero though, as you'll lose a lot of optimizations added in this version. Alternatively, if you already have, this will bring you back to v3.

I'll look into that, is it different from the Nexus One boot animation? Never bothered to look. I know for a fact that I can put the N1 animations on here. I'll at least do that for you tonight.

I don't see why not. I haven't looked at the TWiz version, but if there was any TWiz theming it will be replaced by GB. It shouldn't break anything, but if it does just report it; I'll help you get back to normal and make a TWiz version that will work. I wouldn't worry though, you should be fine. Please report back and let me know how it went.

I tested it briefly, worked perfectly for me. Calls seemed very clear too. And I was at my dad's place with crappy DSL when I tested it too. I pulled it from JL5 so it should be to your liking or better. It's been downloaded almost a hundred times and no one's complained yet.

[Q] Kovicon Hybrid Icon Pack Q's .. amoung other things

So, this here would be my very first post to XDA Forums! With that being said, I think it's safe to say I'm somewhat, if not very much a noob.
But let's get into it shall we?
I recently (2 days ago) flashed the Liberty 1.5 Rom onto my D2. Previous to that I rooted my phone about two months prior using the Z4 easy root app, but shortly after realized I didn't really know what I was doing (all I wanted to do was delete, what I now know is called 'bloatware' apps off of my phone) Then I found Liberty. so beautiful! .. so I figured out how to flash it easily by dl it from my pc and copy and pasting it to my sd card then loading using D2 Bootstrap Recovery.
Okay okay, now REALLY getting to what this is all about..
I saw, and fell in love with the Kovicon Hybrid icon pack. I want it!.. I just don't know how to go about getting it! I already dl'd it onto my pc from a Droid Forum site droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/48683-release-kovicon-hybrid-icon-pack.html to be exact. And now I'm not sure where to go from there. Do I use MetaMorph, do I unload the .zip file from Bootstarp Recovery?
Please help!! I'd be eternally grateful!!
Thanks for bearing with my, how you say, noob..ie..ness?
It's all good. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I glanced over the article, and it looks like you'd use Metamorph. I am, honestly, to lazy to type up a full set of instructions, so if you will forgive that short falling, I will direct you over to a set of pretyped instructions:
http://droidpirate.com/2010/08/18/installing-custom-metamorph-theme/
If ya have any further questions, encounter any problems, need some elaboration, etc feel free to ask.
Oh, I understand, I too suffer from said laziness .. Okay, I am looking into it now! This may take some time ha Thanks for responding in the first place! :-D
Omgosh!!! I did it!!! Thank you sooooooo much!!! this is awesome .. now I just need to find out how to change the launcher thing, the thing that normally has the app list button, and phone button and browser .. do you have any idea how to do that???
Congradulations. And, I prob do (or atleast can find instructions if i dont), but I am not sure what you are wanting to change? To a diffrent launcher? Change the buttons that are there? Change the look/background? Something else entirely? Give me alittle more info, and I'll do my best to find you the info you need.
hahah alright, well I tried posting a rather amazing picture that summed it up completely, but since I am so new it wouldn't let me .. Okay, it's the button(s) on your main screen. The one that is normally in the middle, if you tap it, it brings up all your apps. And then next to it usually on the left is the phone button to dial numbers. Then usually on the right is a button for a browser or sms! .. Ya know???
That's usually how it is by default? Unless you mean you wanna apply a new theme to it?
Maybe try PMing me the pic/link?
Sorry to get back like a whole day later! .. I found out it's called a dock. And yeah I was just wondering if I could custom theme that, and where to find different dock icons and such .. I know I could always use Adw Launcher, but I can never really get into that.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
I dont really think you can theme the stock launcher that much. Though custom launchers - such as ADW, Launcher Pro, etc - have a wide variety of customization options.
Gilgamesh, you are pretty wrong. You CAN theme launcher2.apk
If you look at my pink steel theme it is completely different from other launcher2s. It has 4 shortcuts at the bottom 6 items in the menu and a 3d app drawer. I could even make the dock invisible if I wanted to. You can't do as much to the stock launcher (launcher2) but you can still do a bunch of customization.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
Didn't say you couldn't do it at all, just was saying the options were more limited compared to the other launchers. Being that the other launchers have far more options, far more information, imo are easier to theme, and again imo preform allot better; it would, as always, imo, make the OPs life allot easier if he focused on the other launchers.

Notification bar change question

I just rooted and I'm running on stock. I would love to change my notification bar. Could someone explain it in detail for me. Is there a way to do it without flashing another ROM? Im planning on flashing liberty soon though. Im a noob so any descriptive help would be awesome!
Sent from my Rooted DROID2
nope, you have to flash it but its not hard...
you can use metamorph, this is what i did because i just never got around to installing a rom. I did this on my droid 2 (rooted) stock rom
This is the site i found the notification bars on, but i dont know how to change the clock, so i have a black bar and a black clock, which i dont mind to much, but it might bother you
droidpirate DOT com/category/metamorph-2/notifications-metamorph-2/
EDIT: that site also contains other morphs for things like battery skin, gps, signal... so on
remember to ALWAYS make a nandroid backup incase things dont work out as planned
Sorry wrong thread
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Could you please run me through the process of using metamorph? I tried doing some research but wasn't satisfied enough to try. Do I just place say the notification bar theme in the android themes folder open metamorph and then new project, find the bar zip and click it? I hope it's that easy! Also have you run into any problems?

[THEME] MattedBlues for CM7 (test)

I just made this for someone on DA and thought some other people might want it too. I just want to make sure it actually works, so if you guys could test it I'd really appreciate it. Backup before flashing just in case something goes horribly wrong, don't blame me if your phone explodes (highly unlikely) or if you get bootloops (somewhat likely) and don't have a backup to restore from, blah blah blah. Original thread is here for images and such, and I don't know if I'll be maintaining this. It's pretty simple between cm7 roms though so it shouldn't be too hard.
I WILL NOT PORT THIS TO ANY OTHER ROMS NOR BE MAKING IT INTO A THEME CHOOSER APK. ASK AND I WILL EAT YOU.

changelog post or something just in case
Hey Thnikk,
It's me (Weredawg from DA)
It worked perfectly (CM7 x99 kernel)
Thank you so much for the port (oh and I asked a dumb question on DA, figured it out and realized you didn't want people to ask for a theme apk...)

It's cool, from what I understand the creator didn't want it to be a theme chooser app because it left a lot of stuff unthemed. If it ever becomes one, it'll be by him so anyone interested in that can take it up with him.
I'm really happy that it worked though, thanks
thanks it works just fine
I really love this theme, but I would like to test the other themes via CM7's theme chooser. Only thing is Matted Blues (this theme) is not set up that way.
How exactly would I go about taking this zip and have it work with CM7's theme chooser? So I can easily switch themes on the fly without having to reflash this one.
I'll also ask my Android class tomorrow.
There are some really talented folks in there.
UPDATE: Checked the original thread and it looks like the creator is going to make a theme chooser port.

This theme still works with theme chooser, it just replaces the stock (named system) theme. Basically, if you were to get the stock GB theme back, you'd just have green and orange highlights everywhere instead of blue. It may just be personal preference, but I think the blue looks better than stock GB.
If you want (for JAMT, no?), I could make a new package that includes the lockscreen [here] for you. It would only take 2 seconds
I could also make a post explaining the really easy way to theme stuff if you'd like.
Oh no that's fine.
I've been using Widgetlocker for all my lockscreen needs and the last update finally got rid of the stock Sense clock
I liked unlocking the Sense way but didn't like that clock.
Only thing I want really is to get the flashable zip you made, and turn it into a theme for CM7's theme chooser. But in your original post you said you would eat us if asked :X
Oh but learning how to theme stuff would be cool to know.
Thanks.

Sorry for not replying, it's finals week and I've been busy. EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES.
Theme chooser app is in development right now and the dev says it should be available this/next week. I'd post a link but I'm on my phone and lazy.
And those directions... as easy as the process is, it's kind of hard to type out. Would you mind if I explained it in a video instead?

Awesome guide http://teambamf.net/showthread.php/718-How-to-flash-a-ROM
Easiest way is to download stuff from market such as beautiful widgets and go launcher. With those two you can download themes and widget packs that are much easier for a new comer to understand than flashing a theme that may break your Rom.
If I helped you in any way please use the thank you button
I've read that but like for cool themes it says I for CM7 or for DasBamf and like whars the difference between a rom and a theme x(

Roms are the operating systems of the phone, so to speak. Themes make them look how you want. For example, changing all button presses to blue. You need to install a rom, as someone linked a few posts up. Then from there you will have to install the theme. If its a sense based rom and theme (similar to what your phone was stock), then the theme will be flashed through recovery. If it is an AOSP rom and theme (CM7, OMGB) then there is a theme changer included in the apps to easily change themes. I suggest you read the faq's on here and on the other sites to grasp how to flash roms before you tackle themes so you don't get yourself into too much trouble! Good luck.

I find its impossible to explain what a ROM is to someone. Only way for them to understand is to see it and use it with their own eyes.

Here is a little write up on what a rom is for him if he's confused
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05/01/custom-roms-for-android-explained-and-why-you-want-them/
you have 2 options also.
1. find theme you want first then READ THE OP of that theme thread and flash the rom they say its for, then flash theme.
2. find a rom you like the best then find themes that are compatable.
either way your gonna need to get comfortable with flashing items. It may take you a few tries to get the set up that works best for you.
I had the same question... (yaay! noob searched before starting a thread!!) Thanks for the responses. And it DOES make sense to me, so original poster should have little/no difficulty doing either.
