Best way to password-protect an app? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for a way to password protect an app. Preferably a method that requires root (instead of just downloading an app that does that. Because you can just delete the app and the password's gone).
Any way? If not, then the best app.

App Lock
I use App Lock,
beside the apps I want to protect, I also locked System Setting and Play Store so no one without password can uninstall/install application.

@Buddy39914
I use Hide It Pro to protect all my applications and files.
It might not put password in every applications or files you have but I tell you, Hide It Pro does more on it. search it on Google Play Store and have a try, read some comments over there to give you an insight.
Goodluck

[Q] Spoof "Phone Identity" permission for apps?

I cant seem to find any posts about this but it has driven me nuts since I upgraded to Android from my non-smart phone. I don't want to give my number out to every app I install. Yes I understand I can not install apps that require this permission, but is there a way to "Spoof" this permission. in other words if an app requests my phone identity, it would return a fake number instead of my real number?
Yes Im rooted. I am running Cyanogen Jordon
If you enabled manage premisions in CM APP settings you can go to the app and disable that premision.

Will the application fail when it invokes this permission? Is there a way to block it before hand?
Reason being is I would assume on install the app requests this information and sends it off using the internet connection.
No most apps don't break after permission denial example i block internet access of the Facebook app it won't crash it just keep trying to get content and after a while it will say no connection.

Look for Privacy Blocker in the Play Store.

Controlling data of an app?

Is there any particular app which helps in monitoring data usage? I mean, I have loads of apps installed. But I just want Watsaap. I don't want other apps to use data. Is Thr any app which helps to enable just one app to use data? Do help me out!!!

If you go in to Settings-Data Usage and then just scroll down through all the app you have got, pick the app you want to restrict background data for, click on that app, and scroll down to the bottom and you will see a section that says ' Restrict Background Data ' just click that box and problem solved. Do this to all the other app that you have downloaded ( apart from Whatsapp ) and you the apps will then only use data when you are actually using them.
Hope this helps
Actually that's a tiresome task. For a rooted phone I found a better task. Get app called LBE. It creates a firewall. And allows us to do what I wanted very easily. That's if I want only one app to take up my internet. And also lots basically an app which helps us to control the all kinds of permission. Anyways thanks for the reply!!

Change app from PAID to free

Hi Guys,
I really need your help.
I have two apps in Google Play. I want to close PAID app, because I install in app payment. What can I do with my PAID app users? I don't want they should pay twice for my app functions.
I will upload free app instead of paid. But how can I do that they won't need to buy again for my app and have all functions?

Add to your free app also unlock by key, as is usually done in the PC application. This key can depend on the user's email. If you do not have a lot of users, you can manually send the keys, or on request.
If I remember correctly you can change a paid app into a free one, just not the other way around.

I agree, I think you need to delete and the re upload... ask google to be sure..:good:
I would second creating a way to enter a promo code that unlocks the pro version. If you have a way to confirm which users already paid, you can provide them with such a code.
