restore your original backed up rom from recovery (assuming you backed u r original rom before flasing custom rom)
Asumming u are using mik is cm7 rom for p500, that means u installed the WRONG ROM!

[Q] CheckROM Revo v4 queries....

i tried to write this post on the official RevoHD4 thread, but says i cant as i don't have 10 or more posts, so posting it here.
(1) im using Revolution v4, stock revo kernel, cmw 5027. when i restore a backup, or flash a theme etc with kitchen, cmw waits 20 secs (countdown) before doing anything.."waiting for sdcard to mount". using standard internal sdcard. is this normal? used to be instant with stock 2.3.5 firmware and CF root.
(2) flashing a dialler theme (miui, revolution) with kitchenpro causes a force close when i open the dialler app, hence can't make any calls. anyone else get this?
(3) flashed a few themes with kitchenpro, ICS, shades of dusk, miui, black lightning etc. all work fine, and disappear when i reinstall a diff theme. with the revolution super theme, it stays, flashing a diff theme over it doesn't remove it. only way i got rid of it was doing a restore.
I have the same issue as (1) here.. it says waiting for sdcard to mount. After that it says SDCARD couldn't be mounted... continue anyway.
also couldn't post in the ROM thread because of posts number.
Hi everyone,
The 20secs wait is a bug from Siyah's internal custom CWM 5.0.2.7.
I also have some requests for this ROM : could you please make Kitchen Pro make a SOFT reboot into recovery instead of a brutal one ?? Some apps don't like to be ended that brutally.
Thanks in advance !!!!
wonder is it fixed is siyah's new 2.5 GT kernel?
Not fixed in 2.5 GT sadly, but I think it's about NTFS storage, not sure.
Still not fixed in 2.5.1 ...
An other question : I have installed the new "gingerbread screen rotation animation" but it's messing up with my CRT animation on (un)lock ...any solution ??
i read elsewhere that the 20 sec countdown bug is a cmw recovery v5.0 bug. hmmmm. to be honest, its not the end of the world waiting 20 secs for it flash something, just a niggle. i'm pretty sure it wasn't there in the stock revo4 kernel tho.
I agree with you, it's not a huge problem, but we can't flash something from the external SD ...And that's a problem I think.

[Q] Problems in MIUI based roms

Guys ,
I tired the official MIUI and the Galnet MIUI roms . Did a full wipe and followed the procedure which was written on both sites . Ended up in the same problem . Battery was charging backwards and the phone was getting really really hot ! .I tried charging it with the USB port and the adapter , but both things resulted in the same issue . It said that its charging but the battery was constantly going down .
Could`nt find the solution to this . Can anyone help me out here
Use OS monitor (search market) to find out what is keeping the CPU at high speeds, also try Betterbatterystats (see my sig) to find out whats keeping your phone awake and the list of apps safe to remove (also my sig) to see whats safe to freeze or remove.
Thanks man . Will check these out and report back .
What is dhd_dpc ? got the Betterbatterystats app and its displaying dhd_dpc on the top with the usage ( redbar ) shown as full .
It does not show up in OS monitor .
Any ideas ?
Got miui up and running again ! installed OS monitor
Downloads is taking taking 50% of the CPU load !! . The process is "android.process.media "
please help me out here ? how do i disable this process ? i went to the running services tab and cant see it running
what should i do ?
Use Ti or Gemini to freeze downloads & unfreeze it when you want to use it.
Thanks mate .
After alot of reading i came to know that , i have to clear data from "media storage" . Did that and the download process got away .
But it came back when the phone was restarted
Atlast got rid of the problem
Here is what i did . Incase someone else encounters this .
* Formatted internal sd card
* Formatted external sd card
*Cleared data for media storage
*Cleared data for Downloads
OS Monitor proved to be a very handy tool for getting rid of such problems Highly recommended .
Nice work ;-) I'm pretty sure I've seen people post here from time to time with this problem, hopefully they find this thread.
Bump again !
seems like MIUI for the galaxy S2 is the WORST ROM ever ! .
Onto the next problem now .
I am unable to create a nandroid backup . Whenever i try to backup . It says "error while generating md5 sum"
I read a couple of threads , but they all stated on how to correct an existing backup . I am having this problem while creating the fresh backup
Anyone care to help now ?
It's probably kernel related. There's a patch you can flash in CWRecovery for Galnet Miui that might fix the problem. I guess it would probably work with other Miui variants. I've attached it to this post. You need to flash this in CW Recovery (not the app) first, reboot back into recovery & then do your backup.
Obviously if you do use this patch, you use it at your own risk, and if it doesn't work then your problem is clearly kernel related & you'll have to do more digging to find a fix.
Thanks mate . I did came across this fix . But it was for galnet miui and i am on original Miui .
I am afraid to try out the file :S .. any possible consequence would it brick my phone :S i dont want that ...
can i flash this kernel on miui ? its Siyah Kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838
Siyah should work with any flavour of Miui so long as it's not an ICS build. A proper ICS build that is, like CM9.
Flashed Siyah ! everything is working great ! backups are working as well .
Thanks a million buddy ! you have been of great help . One more quick question
Now if i try to switch to an ICS based rom , will i have to reflash another kernel ? ( since siyah states that it doesnot work it ICS ) ? . OR should i flash any ICS based rom without any kernel flashing ( the normal procedure , wiping stuff and flash )
1) Siyah doesn't work with any ICS builds. No kernel sources available at this time.
2) I recommend you stay away from any/all ICS roms until they're "stable". You will more than likely have problems if you use one of these, and they're definitely not recommended for novice users.

I9100 is Slow, and Keeps force closing, tried differnt roms and kernels, but no luck

Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100, which is Rooted, and is Currently Running "Pure ICS v7.2" and kernel "Siyah v3"
just after i rooted my phone about 4 months ago, i stuffed my phone up a bit, and i had to reflash a new firmware to get it to work again, but ever since then, my phone has always been really sluggish and slow, and lots of apps keep force closing. i have tried heaps of different roms including: Pure ics v7.2, Checkrom v38, stock XXLPH, and a few others. but they are all the same. i have also tried the kernels: Stock Sammy kernel, Chainfire, And siyah v3 and v2, but nothing has worked, i tried restoreing a CWM back up of my original rom (the one that was on my phone when i got it) but it did not work properly, they were all the same - Slow and sluggish, and apps force close.
i was wondering if anyone knew what i could do to get my phone working again. because when i first rooted my phone, it never force closed and frooze or anything, it just worked perfectly, it only started not working properly after i flashed a status bar mod, and the phone got in to a boot loop, but i fixed that, but it still does not work properly
i have read what other people have said about the kernels and roms i have used, and they all said that it worked great, and that they got not force closes, but i keep getting them.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
Cheers Corey

How about flashing your stock firmware and perform root again. Maybe you can get the phone working right

You will need to wipe all data again or flash the official ics .587 again from flashtool or try to delete or your paired list, will definitly fix your bug ( it worked for me and for many guys over the gsmarena community), or try to find any patch or script to fix it, sorry I can't help you with other suggestions those are the best, do you know that you can backup all your apps data by using carbon from the play store ( made by clockwork dev), it is amazing
