How do I use my resound on different carriers? - HTC Rezound

I need to know soon, cause I might trade my phone to a guy that is switching carriers from Verizon. My phone is s-off running cleanrom 4.5. What do I need to do?
ICS Rezound.

Read the threads on GSM support.

to what carrier? No hspa support for t-mobile and at&t is wonky at best.
These are not gsm based phones so trying to get them working is a headache.

None, now. But for future reference does 3G and SMS/mms work for t mobile?
ICS Rezound.

Look in the GSM threads, they will tell you.

Flash any sense 4 rom then look up the gsm patch from the GSM thread in the Q&A section, its linked on the first post.
Or you can.just flash the MIUI rom in the dev section, its gsm based and active out of the box.

Or you could check the MIUI thread in the dev section. I think MIUI works out of the box for GSM carriers, except for some data bands.

If you flash MIUI or the SMS fix on a Sense 4 rom, you can get SMS and MMS working on a GSM carrier, but none of the GSM carriers in the united states will get 3G on the Rezound. Including T-Mobile

Thats why i dont understand i have data 3g but i cant send mms

Look at the address in Settings/Mobile Data/Access Point Names/Internet under MMSC. See if it is an address that makes sense. Like the one for Verizon is: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

ROM for easiest transition to GSM/CDMA

Hey all,
I'm headed to Korea this week and I was going to reflash my ROM to allow for GSM data. So I'm looking at the Venasaur (Charmander if it gets released in time) or MIUI. I'd still like to use it on CDMA until I leave, but easily switch it to GSM while in Korea for data usage.
What's the easiest/best of the two to use?
I'm currently on Scott's ICS Dev Edition as I prefer the stock ICS feel. I could put up with a theme for a couple weeks while I'm there though.
Otherwise, I'm using my old Captivate while I'm there as I know that'll work, but the GPS is practically unusable.
Thanks!
Super
Pretty sure you can run GSM on your current rom. Settings>Tweaks>Misc>Phone Info. The antennae selection is on that screen.
You can get gsm on any rom, its sending sms and a couple of other issues that only miui or any sense 4 rom work it out using the gsm fix patch.
I'd say use miui, both cdma and gsm is working out of the box with cdma sms sendung being the only issue.

Data's the big concern. I don't plan on using voice too much, if at all on this trip. I mainly want data for Internet, GPS and translation.
Have people been able to use data without trouble on other ROMs besides those two?

Yeah data is a go but you're probably have to manually set up your APN.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but I was wondering if Korea uses the same kind of cellular networks as China? I might be going to China. Would be great to keep the rezound and swap sim cards.

[Q] How to get Rezound's WiFi Hotpost working

I used wifi tether that was included on CleanRom 1.75 GBE.
Once I started ththering then it stopped right after that.
I also tried a app called wifi sharing.
I click starting tethering and it shows a msg "start tethering" on notification bar, but never get started.
Tried [MOD] Hotspot AP mode fix for GB/ICS too, not working either.

Read for those CONSIDERING VZW NOTE ON OTHER CARRIER

Ive posted this under the tmobile note 2 forum as well as it is relevant for both sides
THIS IS A LITTLE HEADS UP AND NEEDED INFO IF U PLAN TO USE THE VZW NOTE 2 ON GSM CARRIERS LIKE ATT OR TMO
If u plan to use the vzw note 2 on tmo gsm service youll need to know its a bit of work to get it going with data .
All vzw sch1605 are unlocked out oF the box .THIS PHONE DOES GET 3G on tmo 1900 band I cant confirm on att but tmobile YES 3G H+
Vzw locks its apn settings into the phone u have to root and unlock bootloader with Casual unlock tool and flash the stock 4.1.1 deodoxed rom in order to add att or tmobile apn settings. A deodoxed rom is A MUST Then there is a mod zip that gives u a "+apn "under settings /access point names to add your carriers apn
THIS IS JUST A HEADS UP FOR THOSE OF U ALREADY STUMPED OR PLANNING TO USE VZW NOTE ON A TMOBILE ACCOUNT OR GSM CARRIERS

Just curious but why the need for the deodex rom?
In repsonse to the question "why a deodoxed rom"
A Deodoxed rom is a prerequisite of adding the "apn" mod file, from custom recovery, as mentioned in my thread .If noone knew of this issue ahead they would never have working data while trying to use an alternate gsm carrier in their note 2.
Verizon locks the apn settings into the phone for theyre use only .
The zip file mod is 1 way of doing this .Its easier than the adb method of changing and pulling files from the system

You don't need anything deodexed.
There are several ways to modify apn:
1. Via conf file.
2. Via modded secsettings.apk that unlocks apn editor.
3. Change csc via build.prop that unlocks apn editor..
Joderme, imnuts, and I have a fairly comprehensive thread about it.

So what would have made this a helpful thread is some details. Like were is this flashable zip, what apn settings do we need, and what ROM did you use I know any deodoxed should work but which one you used would be good.
Now I know these things could be found by searching, but if you're making a new thread to help people it seems like a good idea to include details like these.

That would be like all the people I've helped unbrick me just saying flash stock in Odin without showing them a guide to do it.
Anyways I'm still curious how you got 3g/HSPA unless I miss read the +APN thread and the other thread onion development I thought all that worked was edge.

You get 3g because the note is a pentaband
Phone it happens to support tmobiles 1900 3g band and 2100 band
Its a little spotty but works well and when lte rolls out the 1900 band will broaden.

can we install a sprint note 2 rom (touchwiz) on the i605?

i understand that the sprint n2 data partition is different, but if we changed that mount point within the install script could we feasibly install it and it work after we flashed the config file as well? i know this is probably a dumb question, but it was one that came to my mind after venturing off into the sprint n2 forum. thanks!

Actually, I was reading up this morning about AT&T ROMs on the Verizon Note 2 and it is not only doable, but also works pretty well. When done from what I just said (Flashing AT&T to Verizon) you are obviously locked out from Verizon and 4G LTE but if you have an AT&T or any GSM SIM for that matter it will work. The only real issue is GPS not working, for some reason our devices don't like the GPS setup from any ROM's other than Verizon's.

The only real issue is GPS not working, for some reason our devices don't like the GPS setup from any ROM's other than Verizon's.

same thing happens with t-mobile too. somehow there has to be a way to get the att/tmo roms working on the i605. the t0lte roms work on the i605, so why the hell won't the att/tmobile?
So can someone confirm or disagree that flash a T-Mobile or International Note2 CM ROM to the Verizon Note 2? Is a good idea if I want to completely shout off the Verizon Radios and only use GSM?
