[Q] MIUI music app on CM7? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have tried extracting MIUI music app from MIUI 2.3.9 rom & copying it to /system/app (rom is CM7.2 latest nightly) then - renaming stock Music.apk to Music.bak - then renaming MIUIMusic.apk to Music.apk - changing permissions to rw-r--r-- then rebooting
& upon reboot =>>> :fail: process error
anyone got the/a MIUI music app working on CM7?? & could you fill in anything I'm missing from above procedure?
T.I.A

tyvm ^^
works a treat... just wanted the exclude songs under (e.g) 2MB
have a shiz load of ringtones that clog up CM7 stock player with no way to exclude them
(please advise if there is a way to exclude folder(s)/smaller sized music files within CM7 music player)
NB, think I'm going to miss CM7 music equalizer now :boohoo:

Anyone got a miui phone.apk that would work on CM7? Default one is too stock looking...

MusicMod 1.7.5.2 for Samsung Galaxy - Froyo -Updated 01/24/2011

After a quick google search I found the source for Music Mod 1.7.5.2 FroYo only.
this is a newer version than what was available in CM6, and has been modified
to work with the Samsung notification and lockscreen media controls.
the original source can be found here:
http://github.com/eliotstocker/android_packages_apps_Music
this is froyo only!!
installing is kinda a pain because Samsung is now using the
same class path as this app.
the best way to install is to use adb to push to /system/app
changelog:
added settings to menu on every screen like CM6 app
fixed notification timeout not cleared when playback restarted

a factory reset will work renaming Music.apk to MusicPlayer.apk and pushing
to /system/app might work also.

It is a music player, modified to work with the Samsung statusbar and lockscreen.
Thanks, works pretty fine.
Btw is there any chance that you make a cm6 mms app with puzzle screen support? Only found a cm5 version.
Awesome! I was looking exactly for something like this. I had a bit of trouble in finding this thread.. should also be in the Galaxy S I9000 forum!
Thanks
Thank you VERY much for this!
It works great and extremely easy to do.
C:\Users\TJ\Desktop>adb devices
List of devices attached
T959516e01b9 device
C:\Users\TJ\Desktop>adb pull /system/app/MusicPlayer.apk
3561 KB/s (5423918 bytes in 1.487s)
C:\Users\TJ\Desktop>cd ../Downloads
The downloaded file went directly to my Downloads folder ... cd to whereever you have the file
C:\Users\TJ\Downloads>adb push MusicPlayer.apk /system/app/
1662 KB/s (1156272 bytes in 0.679s)
would this work on nero 5 w/lockscreens and all? or will it only work with stock?
Big thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've published it in i9000 section* in my thread, wonder if you can do that for others players (MiuiMusic or PowerAmp or Winamp...?)
*Tell me if you don't want it published in i9000 section...

Question about music player and roms

I tried a rom that had a certain music player (stock for its system I think) where the lists and widget appeared as a little CD case. Do you know which ROM is it? and also Do you know what's the name of this player so I can look it up in other ROMs?
Also is there a way I could just install this on my current system?

It's a hell of a music player that one, alright!
I believe someone has modded it to work with any 2.1+ ROM, don't remember where, some googling should do it!
Both these applications should suffice...2.1 only....Gingerbread theme pushed using xrecovery, honeycombe theme can be placed in system apps with permissions set and its good to go....
Thanks it worked alright, don't you have it in english though?

[Q] do you guy trying to port music player from 2.2 to 2.3 ?

if you guy noticed it's a lil different from 2.2 to 2.3
in 2.2 it's can edit EQ & Effect with soundalive option but in 2.3 it's only edit EQ.
2.2 support big bass when on speaker but 2.3 not
so have you guy can port 2.2 music app to 2.3
if yes, please explain how to do that?
thanks in advance.
Have you tried other player app? I use Power Amp on my phone and the Galaxy player. It has many tone control capabilities.
yes,I already use PowerAmp too !!!
but just wanna know is it possible to port original music player from 2.2 to 2.3
Moved to proper forum
I also want this option to
I have download the Froyo Rom of YP Gb1 for TAIWAN (mine) but don;t know how to find the music apk (

Use magiciso to open the factoryfs.rfs of the froyo rom. The music player should probably be in /system/app and you can extract it with magiciao as well.

G1ZCKD1(Chian 2.2 rom)

Hi Guy, I have found 2 file apk from Froyo of G1 China version
But it still cannot install to the Gingerbread system
Update: I rooted my phone, removed the music APK and SOUND PLAYER.APK
I use root explorer Pro to paste the two files .apk from China ROOM (FROYO) to my gingerbread sys/app. It can be pasted and changed the permission too
But after reboot, the music cannot be showed!!!! Now my G1 lost MUsic function
Try sideloading them; Go to /system/app/ find your two apks you put in there, click on them and hit install. this works for me with certain apps I put in the /system/app folder. If it still doesn'the work, you can just copy back the old apks and reinstall them.
Notice you called it a G1; the first Android phone was called the G1, do not disrespect it, lol!
I do that but it cannot install
PLease notice that I have posted in this topic with same issue

system/app to replace the 2.3 ones. It can replace however it cannot show the Music application anymore (
Now I am happy with 2.2 Froyo rooted

Remove the default one and add which ever you want to the same folder.
If the current launcher on bootup is z apk delete that apk from system app folder and include the apk of the launcher that you want
Ohh many thanks for gives an idea

[APP] BEATS™Manager

NOTE: This is just a DSPManager mod done by me, The original is done by Cyanogen.
BEATS™Manager - A Modded Beats version of DSP Manager.
You will need to at least follow the Lib Installation for the app to work fully, The beats file shared below is the new audio add on which improve everything.
=App Installation=
Download the apk below, paste BEATS™Manager.apk onto system/app using root explorer, and change permissions of file to rw-r-r.
=Lib Installation=
Download dsp_manager-ICS.zip below, flash it in recovery, using root explorer, go to system/app/dspmanager and delete it.
=Installation of BEATS™ files (not a must, test build)=
PS. sorry for not being able to make a flashable file yet, i try to get it done in a few days time.
Download BEATS™Manager-ICS files.zip below, Extract them slowly to each folder as stated in there and changing their permissions to rw-r-r.
NOTE - do not extract vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf or etc/audio_effects.conf.
Reboot.
It work's for stock and custom Rom.
V.1
First release by me. DSP ICS Lib below.
v.1.2
Improve audio, Bugs fix.
Is this mod affects the bass performance?
Edit: I mean does it have any difference compared to original DSPmanager?
This is the lastest DSP Manager, it sound better then the old one, I didn't touch what CM did so it's the same as the lastest but theme differently.
Edit: by lastest I think it's the one in CM10

Wow!!!...thanks dude...awesome works...
Will this work in stock ICS 4.0.4 or it's only for cyanogen only? Please be specific when you are postng mod so that more people can test it in their compatible device.
It work's for stock and other Rom.

Thankx a lot.It works on stock ICS 4.0.4.If anyone is interested then this mod gives u an option to choose beats manager when selecting sound enhancements. So basically will have two enhancements to choose from.one is beats and another is default walkman one.Enjoy!.
Awesome! Thanks dude!
There seems to be a bug in this app.The volume up/down keys decreases volumes drastically and it's too low.The default walkman sound also won't let open sound enhancement due to this mod.It gives error saying i have installed another app and remove it before using it.On stock ICS 4.0.4 with xperia s walkman mod.

What about the bugs:

I can't use this mod due to vloume increase/decrease bug and not able to use default sound enhancements.
Part of the Reason there's a bug in the app is, it's missing some DSP files which i forgotten that it is needed. I will upload a the original DSP flashable file in a min.
EDIT: new fix is out, if someone is free, help me make a flashable zip. thanks.
My default music player app becomes non-response

Does any one have the backup of these files (vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf, lib/soundfx/*.so, etc/audio_effects.conf ) ?
Thanks a lot ...... :crying:

That's very bad.You can try other music mods like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681255. Install it via CWM and it will be normal i think.

So sad, then I finally decided to flash the Xperia S ICS Walkman APP via CWM, and the music player (Walkman APP) works perfectly. LOL
I don't think problem is with the vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf, my music player is also xperia S walkman but with lots of tweaks, upload your's audio_effects.conf, i take a look.

Really sorry about that ....
