[Q] How's the battery life? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Long story short, I bought the HTC EVO 4G LTE (The US carrier, Sprint's variant on the HTC One X). Sprint has a 14 day return policy. For me, it ends on Saturday. I'm considering the GSIII.
But the most important thing is, how's the battery life? How well does it do when you're using 3G?
But most importantly, how badly does heavy texting (as in, new text messages every minute for about 4 hours) effect the battery?

I text all day long from 8am to 8pm (medical school ) and WhatsApp/xda app. Lasts the whole day. But I run in edgge not 3g

Mine lasts all day too. Very impressed with the sgs3

I'm in the same boat as you. I love the screen on the Evo but the battery life and multitasking issues have got me strongly considering the GS3.
I've been haunting the forums here and it seems like people are getting amazing battery life. There are many people posting screenshots of 5-6 hours screen on time. I've even seen some that exceed that. By contrast my Evo has been running 3.5-4 hours. That's less than what I was getting on my OG Evo (of course it was rooted and running a custom ROM/kernel ).
I just went and spoke with my Sprint representative about what I'd need to do to make the exchange. I'm 95% sure I'm going to pull the trigger on this switcharoo.
Best of luck in your decision!

Was quite bad at first, but something changed.. now it's awesome. 15 hours and 70% left. Moderate usage and 3G/HSPA+

Do you know what changed to your phone?? 15 hours with 70% left is amazing How often were you using the phone ?

The battery life is fantastic. Just turn off the crappy S-Voice features that wait for your voice input.

How long is the screen-on time? I seriously doubt texting requires heavy usage of the radio. So, the screen is obviously going to be the biggest drain on the battery.

Battery life is misleading straight out of the box. The starting charge is completely out of sync with the phone.
I had to run my battery dry and full charge it to calibrate the battery properly. Once I did, then battery% values balanced out and phone has been a dream ever since.

it was with moderate usage (lots of texts, a few calls, a bit of game play, but not much) and I turned on power saving when I wasn't using the phone(don't know whether this actually does anything when the phone is asleep anyway... and off when I was). Don't have s-voice running (disabled it manage applications menu), turned off motion as I never used it, turned off NFC, S-Beam and Wifi-Direct (some of which were turned on by default! and this is SUCH a battery killer)...
Basically turned off everything that I don't use.. and saved a hell of a lot of juice.

I think the longest I got was almost 30 hours, thats using whatsapp, heywire, facebook and skype here and there and tinkering around in the marketplace. I had most of the settings switched off as you did...just noticed I had nfc on...switched that off too now. I just joined the android community, switched over from my Iphone this week when I got the SG3 so im still getting used to it

I think because of the quad procesor the 2.100mah wasent enough. It is very good! All day from the morning with 100% with full brightness, wifi, download gameloft games, gps, and i had 20% the next morning!!With custom roms will improved more!!

check thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27351690#post27351690

24 hours gets me to about 20%. That's with WiFi on all the time. Pretty good yea?

Almost 24 hours with heavy usage, on my previous S II it took two charges or extra battery for same (smsing, surfing, calling, half of time on wifi etc...) always on 3g

There's a whole thread on battery life here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681873
Probably didn't need to start a new one..

I will agree with the above statements. I use the 2x battery app and I have moderate daily use which gets me at the end of the day around 10:30 from 8am to around 45-48%. That is with 3g when the screen is unlocked a bit of wifi, web browsing and tapatalk, a phone call or 2 etc. I have disabled all apps i don't use as well and run the stock kernel and no roots

I managed to get the 99% battery issue sorted!
I have used he external battery charger on my 2nd battery and today I thought of trying the new battery for the first time to get some cycles on. Guess what?
The samsung desktop charger powers the battery all the way. I have now 100% on the new one and it dropped as I'm typing now after a good 5minutes of operation, unlike it used to do which was immediatelly after unplugging the charger from the phone.
So I presume that goes with the original assumption that the phone does not overcharge the battery for lifespan purposes. Why would the desktop charger would though?

I'm now giving this method a try.
Charging up my spare battery with the Samsung desk stand/charger.
---------- Post added at 09:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 AM ----------
Interesting.
I've found the same as above with the 99% issue.
Having charged my spare battery up in the phone, I've then put it in the external charger, which after another 10-15 minutes charge, the LED turned from red to green.
Having now put that battery back into the phone, the battery is still on 100% after being unplugged for more than 30 mins.
Usually, the battery would have dropped to either 99% or 98% as soon as it was unplugged.
So, it would seem that the desktop charger does charge the battery up to the full capacity, while the phone itself, seems to stop at 97-98%. Weird.

I seriously thought my battery indicator was broke lol

So todays my 1st day at work with my evo3d. With my 4g id take it off my car charger at 6am with a full charge then by about 10am id have to stop using it to text or browse bc the battery was in yellow. So today im looked at the battery indicator at 7am....8am....9am lol and nothin changed. So i checked the battery in the settings and it actually dropped to 95%. Just to be sure i reset the phone and it was still at 95%. Wow im so amazed at how much better this battery is vs the 4g!

That's what you get when millions of customers complain
If this phone doesn't last you atleast 8. Hours you're doing it on purpose
Bussin Caps from my 3D shooter
No kidding.
I look at my remaining battery when I go to bed and think, boy, could have used this thing much more.
The only problem is that I don't know that it will make it 2 solid days without a charge session. I'll have to see if that's possible on light use/strong signal days.
Mine so far, 4 hours with moderate to heavy usage and I have over half my battery left. Pretty good so far, much better than my OG EVO.
on the days that I think, "wow this thing has incredible battery life--it's barely moved at all since I unplugged it!" typically it will just plummet to like 50% without warning... the battery indicator is pretty much a joke if you ask me.
well...as soon as seido releases their extended slim battery i think it will be perfect...i have no complaints about the battery now and I was getting about 40 hrs on my OG EVO after putting cyanogen on it

I've been off the charger now for over 6 hours, WiFi on, Bluetooth on, about an hour and a half of phone calls over BT, 30 min browsing, push email, about 20 texts and checking Facebook and Linkedin about once a half hour and my battery is at 66%. My Evo 4G would have been dead by now with that kind of usage.
This weekend I was able to get 24 hours out of the phone both days. I'm very pleased with the battery on this phone to say the least.
Is all this great battery life with or without the updates?

+1 for the extended slim, can't wait to see that
It's funny, but I'm not quite jonesing to root my 3VO quite yet. This has got a lot of new technology (3D, asynch dual cores, 4G, etc.) that I want things fully baked. I know 4G's not exactly new, but considering how many ROMs for the OG EVO had issues getting it up an running (not to mention lost WiMax keys), I still consider it an extra challenge.
I had the 2000mAh GaliliO battery for the EVO 4G, and would go morning 7am to late evening without issues, 14+hrs with moderate use.
I would say the 3vo is comparable, but on a 1730mAh battery, It's scraping up to around 10hrs of moderate use, and I have not spare to swap out yet. Out of the box, the battery beats EVO out of the box last year, but still leaves something to be desired.
I've got a couple 1850mAh's on the way, hoping they don't blow chunks.

How much charge? Many have noticed the battery cycling between 95-100% once it's fully charged. If you're losing more than that, you might want to look into it a bit further.

Funny, my Evo 4G would have been around 85% after that... unless I was in a fringe area, then all bets are off. I never ran Sense ROMs though, so it might not be a fair comparison.

I dont even have my Wifi, 3G,4G, Bluetooth On, Even Brightness i put it to low lighting and the phone doesnt last till 6pm. I charge it in the morning (11am 100% charge - 5pm 2% left. I love this phone but the battery life sucks !!

Great mine has been in 3g, WiFi,Facebook, XDA app since my las charge (6 hours ago) texting a lot too I'm it still on 65% pretty damm good

On my first day I can seriously say the battery life on the 3D exceeds that of the EVO 4G .
Battery : 24%
Been running for the past 9hrs 53 mins
This is with atleast two hours of phone calls
I just spent an hour or so soaking up 3D youtube videos
Well over 150 texts sent and received today .
I spent a good part of the day playing with settings , checking facebook .
Weather (every hour) and Google(mail contacts calender) on sync
Playing around on the market .
changing notification sounds and ringtones .
My previous EVO 4G would have died long before now . If you are expierencing bad battery life . Check for any apps that might be running or causing your phone to have issues . Remember not all apps are set up for gingerbread just yet either even though most are . Use old tricks from the EVO 4G to conserve battery life . I leave 3G and gps on all the time . But if what they say is true about batteries breaking in especially after a few charges and discharges I am gonna be content with this phone as it is . I can only imagine what will be the next leap forward when devs start making kernels and roms for this thing . Seidio's extended batteries market might collapse LOL .
I don't see how any of this is possible. The EVO 3D dies when you make a phone call, just like the 4G did.
I"m going to have to buy an extended battery so I can make 2 phone calls. This blows. How are you all doing this?

Something isnt right there if you make two phone calls and the phone dies , my advice is take it back to sprint and explain your situation . Either your phone is faulty or the battery is faulty . Also did you accept the updates ? Supposedly the updates include some fixes to correct a sleeping issue the phone was encountering .

Nope, because its not necessary to do that with Li-Ion's. Its also unhealthy to discharge a Li-Ion battery too far (although I'm going to assume this phone has a discharging characteristic that would prevent 'complete' discharge as that would completely kill the battery).
Regardless, my battery life is amazing compared to either of my 4G's (1 rooted, 1 stock gb, and even my buddy's 4G with extended battery). My absolute heaviest usage day, off the charger for about 10hrs and I still had in the upper 60's left of my battery percentage. I leave 3G, wifi, & gps on all the time. I also generally have on my BT and am connected to my headset.
I still wont forget the time a HTC Rep called me asking me my opinion of the Evo 4G . I told her I loved the phone . She asked me if there was anything that could be improved on . My response was this "Dear god put a real battery in these things , I know flip phones with bigger batteries " . She was alittle speechless at that one ROFL but apparently they listened some what LOL
Heavy usage to me is when the screen never sleeps. Like you are watching netflix nonstop or using the web nonstop, or Sprint tv nonstop. In situations like this all the battery saving tips will not make much of a difference since the screen on and 3g/4g radio will be on constantly. If any 3d can get 6+ hours of battery life out of it I'll buy one right away. Sadly most of the usage posted here is what I consider light or medium usage at best. Mucho texting and weather widgets is not what I consider heavy usage.
45% left after 21hrs. wifi on constantly, been texting, playing games, playing with 3d camera. Although it was sleeping during the night, but still pretty damn good.

I was being very sarcastic. it's not that bad, but my battery barely lasts 4 hours. I make about 300 outbound calls a day to clients, that doesn't include the incoming email, calls, txts etc.. syncing, GPS, sigh....
dont worry am on the same boat, i barely used the phone much and i get the same problem with the battery life. I completely charge it with everything off, wifi, 3g, 4g, bl/tooth, no syncing and it dies half of the day. I think some 1st batched phones in the U.S are faulty
Which charger are u guys using? I use the two in one Sprint wall charger thats also a cigarette car charger. My battery life is not great but its not horrible. I get about 6-8 hours with heavy use

[Q] HTC Radar - Battery Life

How's the battery life on the HTC Radar compared to the Lumia 710? if anyone have had hands on experience, that would be appreciated.
I am coming from a Nexus S, will I see an improvement with the Radar?
Thanks!
Best battery life of any smartphone I have ever used.
And I have used :
Toshiba TG01
HTC HD2
HTC Desire
Galaxy S
You will definitely notice the difference.
I've had quite a few Android phones as well as WM6.5 and one WP7 phone - this phone is showing the absolute best battery life out of ANY of them. I'm easily going 24 hours without charging.
Heavy use, sync on, no auto brightness, wifi sharing... Lasts at least 24 hours. Usually dies on 35 hours of use. I carry my charger everywhere, so I use it all the way.
Great, Thanks guys. It's very encouraging to know that this phone can last nearly/over 24 hours. My battery life on my Nexus S can only last 12 hours with brightness set low, background data ON, and 3G (medium-usage). Tired of charging my phone twice per day. Good to know that a single charge on this phone will last me an entire work day.

4G actually... I keep the WiFi turned on when I am at work (8 hours a day) and at home though.
1 day 15 hours since last charge.
11 hours remaining.
20% left.
Dude this phone has the best battery life I have ever seen. And the only battery saver that I have ever seen actually work too!
OMG If you turn off "As items arrive" and set it to "15 min" in the email settings it does WONDERS for battery life... lol... New discovery for me
Does turning the automatic brightness option on save battery life compared to leaving it at the medium setting?
Thanks!

Wow nice stats. Were you using the battery saving feature the entire time?
the best battery smartphone i ever used, no problem for 24h with 3G on all time, 2 email accounts, bluetooth on aprox 8 hours, 1-2 h of voice calls, 10-20 sms, 40-50 emails, twitter, facebook from time to time..... best ever for me.... and i own a lot of phones... but i always go back to the radar.
Best battery life really for a smartphone (even if it is a little bit dumb ;-). I am charging it every 4th day!!!
Wifi is ON all the time, phone is minimally used actually (it is at home all the time and I have very poor NW service at home). I just use it to take pics/videos of my kid (camera is great in daylight, relatively poor in dark) and to play some games/install apps or to just generally scroll around. Maybe screen in ON for about 2 hours during the 4 days in between charges. Also few SMS sent/received. Also one hotmail acc and one X-Box account configured and syncing. No FB on this phone yet. Brightness is set to Auto (b default not in battery saver mode). This phone was mainly bought for camera!
My primary phone is the HTC Sensation. In comparison, I need to recharge it every night. At best, if I keep wifi off then can make it to second day (best I ever managed on Sensation was almost 2 days). Have stopped bothering about battery life on Sensation now! I can afford to recharge it every night. Bought Sensation mainly for the gorgeous 4.3 inch screen (good for navigation and browsing).
Previously have also used HTC Touch Diamond. It used to give me 2 days of regular use (without any use it would go on for 3 days). I am not a heavy user actually.

what is dumb about what i said???
that battery stats or usage stats? the phone is actually used by my wife who uses it only when we go out. At home we have a landline connection which is very cheap to use compared to a mobile. She is not working so is at home most of the time. she is not a geek (is a doctor actually) and doesnt have FB page (she finds FB too technical!!!). The phone indeed gives us 4 days of minimalistic use (the use is either taking pics of our kid or me playing with it!) right now the battery stats say 39% charge remaining, time since last charge 2 days 6 hours and still can go for 1d9h! If you dont want to believe that be my guest.

Oh I get it. Well the OS is a bit dumb really. Some simple and useful features missing and the Zune dependency. But the dumbest of the lot is this feature whereby the phone automatically switches off wifi to save battery when the phone goes to standby! So if you started downloading any app and while download if phone goes to standby then the download fails and you need to restart from the beginning again! Its irksome coz this means to download you need to keep the screen on. I found it dumb really!

I'm just amazed at the battery life on this thing... I've been going for 2 days straight and haven't plugged in yet. It's low (though I can't tell how low, but the meter is pretty thin), but I'm trying to see how long before I get some sort of "plug your phone in!" warning.
One caveat, I have a strong wifi signal at home, which is where I was for the entire weekend - so that obviously helps. But still...
I have to say this is a VERY impressive phone. Battery life is spectacular compared to any single android phone I've ever used. Any android phone I've used would die around 8 hours of moderate usage, and with this Radar it can last practically the entire day.
The simplicity of the phone does leave a bit to be desired, but I'll take it when the phone can last an entire day without worrying about the battery life. More apps will come in due time.

Battery gets literally 4 hours before it's dead

I ,am on it a lot, between GPS and general usage, ,but this still seems like too fast to drain compared to what others here have said. I had this problem with my Atrix too, maybe i am just destined for bad luck with battery life

And I'm not happy with the battery life either. My phone is plugged in right now and the battery is actually going down as I use it.

This happened to me since i first got the phone it has slowed down and now the phone can last through the day ever since at&t throttled me for this month goes without saying ill take it easy next month. so most likely if your in an lte area thats the problem

Apps like that only increase standby battery life. Everything else is very minimal.
And I'm not happy with the battery life either. My phone is plugged in right now and the battery is actually going down as I use it.

If it's notbthe stock charger you areblikely not using a rapid charger.

I pull mine off the charger at 7:00 and at 3pm or so it's down to 85%, I'll put it on the charger at work until I leave around 5-6pm (mainly because I'm used to having to do this on my previous phone) and at night if I'm not using it constantly it's around 70-75% when I plug it in at bed time.
I suspect anyone getting that bad of battery life must be using it constantly, ie: Playing games, browsing, trolling facebook, etc.. Even in the "new toy" stage I'm getting great battery life.
FYI I don't have LTE, but do generally have good 4G.
You honestly can't use any phone on GPS without external power and expect that you're not going to discharge quickly. Assuming that you are running a car charger during GPS and just didn't say so, search the i-717 threads, since the topic has been well vetted on what chargers are more effective, etc. There are definite differences.

The fact that there are people out there that get really good battery life means the problem is you and not the phone. If you refresh facebook every minute of course your battery life will be crappy. apps like juicedefender are just marketing crap. as long as there are no running apps in the background that eat your battery, you do not need any juicedefender or tasker. also setting screen-off behavior to conservative on set cpu helps improve battery life.
When I first got my i717 and was using it on the stock rom I had pretty terrible battery life. I take it off the charger at 5:00am and had decent battery life (around 5 to 7 hours without GPS) but I use my phone a lot for internet/email. I think your battery life is completely normal given your usage.
Most people get about 5hrs screen on time. Total on battery ranges up to about 24hrs, but only if the screen is off at least 19 of them.

i can get about 3 or so
5 hours of screen time AND 19hours standby sounds incredible
would sure like to see screen shot as well
and def dont think 5 hours is any type of avg
I had GPS running on my phone for 4 hours today, had blue tooth on half the time without knowing it, sending text messages, making two 5 min phone calls, checking maps, checking FML and reading a book for about an hour and drained down to about 70% and I have the brightness set at auto. I would exchange it for a new battery.
On average with several texts per hour, several 5-10 min phone calls, taking a few pics and uploading them to picasa, checking facebook, updating status and checking emails I can pull off the charger at 630am and still have 50% battery (at least) by 630pm.
I do have the juicedefender (which isn't crap, it turns off signal after so long so you aren't trolling for signals when you aren't on the phone).

Just buy a second battery and throw it in at noon. No biggie.

Was thinking of doing that since they're so cheap but thanks to juice defense I don't really have that issue no more.

I had a ss of my buddies yesterday, but can't restore mms lol. There are plenty of other ss in the note section. He was at 22+ hrs with about 4:30 of screen on and some % remaining. I have to charge around 7-9 everynight at 4-4:30 hrs screen on, but my use is pretty heavy. I sync 4 gmail accounts, a separate GV, 3 calendars, and several apps.
If yours is much worse than that, you likely have a few troublesome apps or are playing games. First, after a full charge, reset cpuspy timers, lock it, and set it down for a few hours (I know, impossible). Then check to see that your CPU has been in deep sleep about 95% of the time. If not, use better battery stats to see what has been request wakelocks. Not only the most total time, but the total number. Any app that looks outrageous, freeze it or uninstall it. For system processes that look troublesome, Google. You can often find simple tricks online that will tell you what's causing them to go crazy. Beyond that, turn off syncing of anything that isn't needed or doesn't matter (like Facebook), and uninstall stuff you never use.
Another slight help is the brightness widget (don't use the actual widget, just put the app on your homescreen, it works the same) or dimmer in market as they can both set the brightness to a value of 10 (Samsung lowest stock is 20), and even if you can't tell the difference, it helps. Jkay settings in saurom can set the auto brightness profile slightly darker than stock. Umm, and the obvious, use less Widgets, longer sync intervals, processor scaling and speed profiles, and buy a couple rapid chargers, wall and auto.
A couple things to note after seeing a few of these posts...
BT can be on, but without it searching, connected, or listening it's not active.
GPS isn't active unless its in use aand you see the icon in the notification bar. That being said, fb, websites, and many other apps that request location will activate it.

YOU MUST CALIBERATE THE BATTERY!! I have no issues I use my phone heavy all day and get 15 hours and I still have 20% left. All you have to do is
1) Charge you phone until it says "charged"
2)Leave phone plugged in and power off and let it charge until the battery meter literally says "100" (screen will sleep so you can check with volume rocker to light screen)
3) power on phone and let boot and than power off and wait till you see 100% again
4) now keep doin this and you will notice it will start displaying "100%" faster and faster usually takes 6-7 times cycling like this
5) After you do this download Battery Caliberation (root required) app from market and hit the caliberate button and boom your good to go
I do this on every android phone I own when I flash a new rom or purchase a fresh one. Everyone should do this everytime you flash a new rom and I can CONFIRM significant battery longevity on all my android phones I have done this with
You only have to do it once so just get it out the way and you'll get through a whole dayand have some juice to play with.
I get 15+ hours and do not any battery juice defender apps

Just to be clear here, Tasker has nothing to do with battery life. It doesn't hurt it, nor "help" it. However, you certainly could write tasks/contexts that would decrease battery life, and there are a few scripts out there which do silly stuff like autokilling, etc... But if we're talking "battery savings", Tasker and JD do not go in the same category.
IMO JD is only useful if you're frequently in an area with no signal, like you work in a basement or deep inside of a solidly constructed building. Since you mentioned Tasker, in this context it does help me a bit on battery because my wifi turns off when I leave the house, but that's also something JD can help with. If you don't have a wifi connection it'll turn off wifi (and I believe turn it back on periodically to see if there's one available?) I don't use JD, so can't speak too much for it.

Hour? Hour and a half? I'm working during that period. I usually hit news sites and G+ when I'm first at my desk in the morning, so that's 30 minutes or so off and on looking at it, then perhaps an hour over the rest of the day, sometimes more at lunch.
I'll look closer today and post back.

Battery life is good enough

Since people only post on negative battery experience while the happy ones are silent, I will break the silence.
I have and use the One X+ (international non-LTE, in central Europe) for one week. Today, I just used it to browse web for several hours (browser was consuming 55% at time of screenshot) and read some pdf (pdf viewer was consuming 17%; I flipped about 200 pages in fast way as it was mildly boring ebook with big fonts so no zooming). There were about 10 minutes of web or youtube video too.
The screenshot shows battery graph at 38% of battery left, after 8 hours since plugged.
I guess (based on the screenshot bars and based on the actual usage) the screen-on time was about 60% (so between 4.5 and 5 hours).
Boo at HTC for removing screen-on time counter.
Google now is off.
Mobile data is off.
WiFi is on.
Power saver mode is off.
Brightness was automatic, usually around 30%.
No extra battery monitor was running (they may affect battery while measuring too).
Stock rom, one OTA update was performed.
Android version 4.1.1
Build 1.17.401.1
I have never managed to fully discharge the battery so its measurements may not be fully calibrated.
no problems here
This phone has great life for me. The only times I've had a problem getting a full day was when I first got it and basically didn't put it down. Since then I usually have 30-50% left at the end of the day. I wonder what some people do to drain the battery so much...

I disagree.
I don't game at all. I get about 10-14hrs of battery life with 1-2hrs of screen time with most of that running on LTE and with Power Saver ON. That is OK, but not great at all. I would like to get that type of battery life with 3-4 hours screen time and using Navigation. I think for people that use their phone for work and travel for work, you ideally need 16hrs battery life with 3-4 hours screen time with some GPS/Navigation. Don't think this phone will every get there.
I've finally got my IT to give me WIFI access at work to avoid 3G/LTE and today I'm testing if Juice Defender is better than Power Saver mode, but based on my current drain, I don't sure i'll make it to 16hrs.
In either case, I found the drain while running Navigation to be HUGE (40%+/h) and if Power Saving mode is OFF the phone will overheat as well (55C/130F).
Still I love this phone, but hope I can find a way to squeeze as much battery as possible. When I look over to say the Nexus 4 forum, I'm a bit envious on what those users are achieving on their batteries.

I'm debating switching from the N4 to the HOX+ but the battery is one huge concern. I traded a RAZR HD for a HOX+ and i should have it tomorrow so i can compare the two. I've been averaging between 4 and 5 hours of screen time per day, with my best being 5h 31min. The only thing that I'm thinking will help my case for the OX+ is that i will only use it on hspa+ instead of LTE.

Well, I choose the HOX+ mainly because you can't buy a N4, unless you go to the aftermarket and pay a premium. Also the 16GB is just not enough and LG lost me a customer coming from the LG G2x. Plus in Canada, there's not much benefit buying a phone off-contract. I was off-contract for the past 3yrs and my experience wasn't any better than the the providers that lock you in. That said, I'm guessing you will see better battery on your N4 compared to the HOX+...but hey, I don't either will come close to the RAZR HD for battery life.

As you see i got 37hours with 3h screen time.... so about same as you.
All connection ON all the time (wifi, 3g)
Sync on
Power saver ON.
Some gaming, web browsing, social apps, calling, texting and stuff (see app usage screenshot)
p.s. my phone is stock and unrooted and i dont use any power saver apps or anything like that. Just stock power saver option.
Oh and i played one game with power saver off, not for long tho. (was tegra3 game, that racing game, you can see it in screenshot)

Maybe I've not been using it for heavy gaming, but in the month I've had the phone, I've not run into any serious battery issues. If this were an issue, I'd probably install JuiceDefender, and configure it as per my schedule so push E-mails are not constantly keeping the radio on, as well as throttling CPU back.
I also have a charger in my car, so if I'm on the road, it gets charged.
my battery life usually gets me through the day until about 7pm with around 3hrs screen on time so i cant complain too much. i listen to music a lot and text heavily
Yeh. I dont thjnk ive seen better battery from any hox+ posted here. Ive seen 5hr screen time but the total run time is 6hrs.

I might have a bad car charger, but when I'm running Navigation, it still drains the battery at 10%/h.
I think I do have higher battery life expectations. I tested with Juice Defender yesterday, and basically it provides around the same benefit as running in Battery Saver mode. Got 2hrs screen time with 14 hrs total run time while mostly connected to WIFI (maybe 2hrs or so connected to HSPA/LTE). Again this is OK...but not great.
Today I am testing with both JD and Power Saver on and will report back. It's the last day of my 14 day return/exchange policy and I'm planning to keep the HOX+. I have a very slight inclination to change to LG Optimus G as I believe it has the potential to get the same battery life as the Nexus 4. But I'm scared as hell about the LG support and the if people think the Dev community is thin here, it's basically a ghost town there. That said, it looks like they have a good build for CM 10.1.
