Microphone DB capped? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
Can someone with a GSIII use a sound level (or decibel) program and let me know if the microphone is capped at a certain decibel level?
I have the Captivate (AT&T Galaxy I) and its capped at 82-83 db. I run sound, and it would be real helpful if the microphone didn't max out, or at least maxed out around 100 db's.

Can someone download a free db meter from the app store and just slowly turn up their stereo to tell me how many db's this is capped at (if its capped at all)?

Hey there Its capped at 89Db by the looks of things I use a handdryer hitting the mic port and putting it next to a speaker all of them capped at 89.
Heres a picture of it:

Well, that's a shame. I was really hoping this one was different, at least its a higher cap.
Maybe its a software cap that can be removed or adjusted. I will have to research.

Well I used sound meter lite im not sure what ones the best but yeah if rooted you will be able to increase it im sure.

Volume keeps lowering

Volume keeps lowering on my phone, not the actual volume setting (its maxed on all sliders)
But in winamp playing my music its gotten lower, (not as loud as my friends, almost inaudible at work)
Ringtones are LOUD as normal, but "Hearing" and "Being Heard" during a phone call, even on speaker is SO LOW compared to a couple weeks ago.
I've had:
Stock +Root (by entropy) - currently using
MIUI-1.11.9 (galnet) - starting not working, had to remove
Lite'ning Rom v6.1 (Cozmoz?) - had issues, had to remove
- I'm using Entropy DD 12/12/2011 (NON-exp)
- I'm also using "Crysis battery gauge"

Bump. Was this answered elsewhere? I seem OK on stock from now (from lite 'ning) but it varies between hearing and not able.
Sometimes speaker is loud then dims real bad making conversation suffer . Gets worse without speaker on

you got that info from wolfson chip circuit diagram right? the max output power is 2w then, hopefully the speakers can handle it. also the speaker part looks pretty similar to the one in Note.
I'm not into diagrams myself, i just read a whole lot of sources mentioning anything about S3 including all threads on XDA
So i just remember that info from somewhere

IR in Galaxy SIII?

i just found out about the IR beside the camera on my SIII.. and with a little search i got someone who's saying it's for removing red-eye effect..
but i guess i figured out what's about.. it's used for turning screen off when you're making calls.. just like in the figure in here:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
what i want to know is.. does it have to be ON all the time? or is it because of my JB rom -_-
and second.. can we use the IR to send signals to other devices? and recive as well?
-i've tried to aim a remote control toward the IR reciver during a call but the screen didn't go off, i guess it's expecting a specific signal or frequesncy..
That is the proximity sensor and no we can't use it as an IR port.
The JB firmware you are using (XXDLI1 I presume) has a bug where the proximity sensor stays on all of the time.

like nodstuff wrote.
And, even if it were possible to use this IR as we wish, there is no guarantee that it uses the 38 kHz frequency range, that is the range used by most consumer IR devices and remotes. A few Sony remotes use 37 Khz.

Banding screen Droid RAZR

Hi, all!
I have just bought my new moto, everything is cool but screen has parallel lines at low brightness and on grey and blue pictures. I heard about this issue on Super AMOLED but I think that on my screen this is too match. Please, check out photos.
The first photo is white pattern at low at brightness level about 10%. The second is grey pattern at about 80%. The last one is photo at about 60% of brightness.

Is it normal or I should to swap phone?
oh snap, that is real bad, compared to my phone thats really not normal.
Yeah not normal
you should get it replaced.
I went to service center in hope to replace for a new one but there don't want to replace, they show me another phone with similar defect and sad that this is pretty "obvious" for this model. I think they are hustler or I have a luck to talk with not competent people.
Thanks a lot for your respond, it give me confidence that truth is on my side and I will try to replace phone anyway.

Has anybody actually noticed a difference in picture quality, tw vs aosp

The other day I decided to try and see if there is a difference in picture quality on AOSP vs tw. So i snapped a random pic of my uag case.

Quite honestly, I don't see much of a difference. I don't even remember which pic was tw and which AOSP
Once HDR works flawlessly, then I don't think there is much to complain about.
I'm using eclipse 4.3, and it has an option for 12.8 size.
right looks like AOSP..more noise, higher ISO probably..TW camera is good for getting the ISO to the right level on auto usually
