MiniCM7 VS. MiniCM9 - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

So guys,how are y'all
Now I couldnt find suitable forum for this so posted here any mod can move it
Ok so I noticed lots of people changing from minicm9 to mini cm7 after 2.2.1 was out and say its more stable ,faster ,longer battery etc.
So I thought id ask you guys whats better
1-MiniCM7 2.2.1
2-MiniCM9 3.0.1
(optional) try to tell us why you chose. And thx everyone Have A Good Day!!!!

for everyday use, minicm7 is best, everything on your phone should be working fine, where minicm9 still has driver issues, especially where video is concerned.
minicm9 needs time to mature so if you want to help with testing, please run that

[Q] wat is the Best rom for x10 mini pro and how to flash it....

i downloaded cm7.1 ...edited the file to get the error7 correct...and installed it wid xrecovery...but the phone got bricked....i managed to recover....but now i want to flash it...so i want to know which is the best rom and how to Flash it properly..
thanx
Take a look at the 3/4 most used ones in the developer forum and try them all. There are plenty of guides on the forums how to install custom roms and which one you prefer is subjective. From personal experience, Slade's GinTonic and the GingerDX Rom's are both excellent.
I use the MiniCM7 Pro now at its release v17 (with v18 incoming). It works very well: it's fast and very customizable.
To install it you need the CWM.

thats your problem.. all roms are for ClockWork Mod recovery aka CWM...not für xrecovery !!!
if you ask me: MiniCM7 is the best!
are there any major bugs in miniCM7 from ur experience ....i now know how to install it properly....and wat about Slade's GinTonic and the GingerDX rom...are they better than miniCM7 ??...btw thanx for the help..
3G and MMS
I have miniCM7 - problem dont working 3G and i cant send mms.
Must bugs people are reporting are personal issues and not general problems with the ROM's. Only way to figure out which ROM you would prefer is to try a selection.
For me, GinTonic has been the one running the most smooth.
Install CWM
Install a ROM and test it
Go back into CWM and take a backup of that ROM
Clear the phone
Install another Rom
If that's better, backup that one and test another.
Then when you have figured out the best ROM for you, restore that backup on your phone.
I installed the GingerDX v17, but it seems that the wifi just stopped working for some reason.
Im thinking about installing the Flame.E, but its beta.

Yeah, my wifi doesn't work either.
I used both MiniCM7 and Sonystyle. Now I'm using GinTonic and I'm pretty satisfied with it. But I will give Eyama's roms a try, just to be sure wich one is better for me.
Like stated before, install each one and make backups, it's very easy to switch roms according to your needs.
Now I read that with the Flame.E the wifi works properly, so, ill give a try on that. crossing fingers for a beta!
GingerDX V14
The only ROM that I've tried so far is the Froyobread, it's 2.2.9 but it does the job until i find a version of 2.3.7 that suits me, the only bugs i found with it are minor like the lock screen animation isn't quite in the right place and the SYM menu in the messages sometimes bugs out, other then that the wifi works, the camera fully works, dual touch it's all there
I've installed MiniCM7 v19...i read many comments on development forum about problems with wifi, but in this 2 days of test with this rom no problem for me.
This rom is fast and very stable in my opinion.
ps.with v16 i had problem with wifi, but i solved them deleting the file wpa_supplicant.config in data/misc/wifi folder
I´ve GingerDX V17 and it works great! very smooth and no battery drain
There is a very "reduced" rom 2.1.1.Clean.0.0.the tweaked version of it is mod black v1.6 from flex96 from pfonck and if you like a lot of options try gin Tonic.SE from slade87. Juste read carefully the Faq before you flash a rom
Sent from my U20i using xda premium
MiniCM7 seems to be the best rom but i feel it has a battery drain problem compared to sonystyle V10.
>if you want smooth and fast ui with no problems then MiniCM7
>If you want long lasting battery life with a lil less performance than
MiniCM then Sonystyle V10.
Hope this helps.
MiniCM7 is all right for daily usage, it really depends of you. Try 'em!
For me, Slade's GinTonic.SE works great and very smooth.

Installing MiniCM7Pro v21 OR CyanoCream

My kernel is the stock version. Basebands and all other requirements have been met. I have rooted my x10MP with Flashtool and unlocked Bootloader. I have also installed CWM. I do not have xRecovery installed as I assume one recovery program would be sufficient.
According to MiniCM7Prov21's thread, all requirements have been met. However, when I try to "install zip from sd" in CWM's menu, it always returns a message saying "Installation failed".
This was the same for CyanoCream's ROM.
Could someone help me out please? I've tried reading through the other threads but it seems no one had such problems.
The steps I followed were from the following threads:

Greatly appreciated.
As far as I know, both use xRecovery (a 1 year old recovery). I suggest you to install nAa's kernel and install or MiniCM7 2.2.0 or CyanogenMod9 v02.

so I would need both CWM and xRecovery on my phone in order to be able to install either miniCM, CyanoCream or any of the mods that you mentioned above?
Hmms might be worth a try then.
Thank you.
Will post back here whether it works or not.

No, no need for both. xRecovery is old. No one uses it anymore.
Just flash nAa's kernel (there is a lot of guides out there), boot in CWM, flash either Mini CM7 2.2.0 (Android 2.3.7) or CyanogenMod9 v02 (Android 4.0.3) and be happy.

The first one is, with sure, the more stable. I recommend the second only if you want a really tasty Ice Cream Sandwish phone. It isn't the MOST stable, but it's more stable than a lot of other ROMs.
Good luck and give us a feedback if everything went well and if you liked.

Hi there! I've successfully installed MiniCM and it's working fine. Really like the new design. A little question though. As I need to time in Mandarin/Chinese from time to time, could you point me to any sources that can help me install a Chinese/Mandarin keyboard in addition to the default Android keyboard?
There's a little problem though. Whenever I miss a call, the phone will play a song along with the notification. However, this song isn't set as my notification tone. In fact, it is just one of the songs in my music library. Is there any way to work around this?

Heh Heh~ you've been of much help though. Thank you very much.
I've decided to search around the market for some chinese input apps. May try to pull out the stock chineseinput apk from my mum's X10 Mini when she's back ^^
As for the ringtones...I've managed to find a workaround, albeit a little troublesome but no worries.
once again thank you very much =)

[Q] Which rom should i use?

I have u20i and i wanted to know which rom will give me longest battery backup... i dont use wifi and gps at all.... use data whole day....and with frequent calls.... please help with the same.....i am really confused....
If you want tweaked stock rom then try this.. very good rom with very good battery life!!

U can try out Minicm7Pro by paul-xxx or Xperian Blaze
both have very good battery life!!

about 2 days on battery, arc mini its quite good, just can't wait for miui final version
MiniCM i think is the best.
MiniCM7
I've tried many ROMs and for me the least buggy was nAa's MiniCM7. Other ROMs may say that they are faster but they have one or the other bug. nAa's MiniCM7 is the most stable Gingerbread ROM according to me.

[Q] Jumping from MiniCM9 to MiniCM10

I have MiniCM9 already installed in my Xperia X10 mini pro,
But due to "slow performance" I decided to move to MiniCM10 or may be MiniCM7.
So, what is the procedure to do this ?
Do I need back to stock ROM first, or is not necessary?
Regards.
Thanks in advance !

Get the kernel and rom for what you want to do and just follow the instructions in their respective posts. I would recommend MiniCM7 if you want stability and performance, Minicm10 still has a lot of bugs to work out.
Minicm10 isn't better than minicm9 in terms of performance, stick with minicm7 or minicm6
Sent from my GT-I9100 running CM10
dont move to that CM10 still in beta he not so good
Look at this and this
My MiniCM9 is working fine after doing some of those tips
I moved to MiniCM10 about a month ago and with some modifications (other launcher,
overclocking and so on) I have a nice performance.
Clearly it never be as good as on new phones
due to hardware limitations, but I'm happy with it
You should definitely try MiniCm7 and MiniCM10
They both have their pro's and con's, but the bugs in JellyBean
are not really bothering

try the semc debrand 3 beta 4 the best since now.
MiniCM10 is faster and better now.. I love it so much.. Far way better than MiniCM9
Having used last MiniCM10 for about a week, I have to admit that it is really good. Way better than MiniCM9.
But, it is also true that this little x10 beast works far better with MiniCM7 than any other rom.
Unless there is a special reason, stick on MiniCM7. Best day-to-day experience...

[Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP?

My friend is asking me to root his phone, and install a custom rom, so I was wondering what do you guys recommend to install on his phone? Which rom is the most stable and best for every day use? I just need stability over speed.

For now it's gingersony v06, you just need to flash a led fix ( only bug ) but the rest is fast and stable, it just has the problem that every rom has: getting stuck in the keyboard when scrolling maximum up/down on the sym/smiles, you just need to be gentle in that part.
The most syable roms will be Zencefil and Semc Debrand when the new version is released, zencefil may have more battery time of all and semc will be the most stable with that scrolling problem fixed.
If i helped press thanks .
AW: [Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP?
I agree to Crazy Seed, Gingersony is the best for the moment, but if you don't want to go through the pain of unlocking the bootloader and flashing a new kernel, I would recommend SonyStyle by BPaul, or, infact, GingerDX pro.
PS: Here is a list of most ROMs for X10 mini pro, you can go through the lists there, too, if you want:

Well, that is a good question: I'm a 'wannabe' dev myself, so I made a rom based on slimroms, which is based on minicm10. I solved the problem of too little space on the data partition, but the performance is still not comparable to cm7 and the sound isn't very good. Everything is working, just a bit slower than on cm7. Do you maybe want to test the rom?

You know, the problem is the hardware of our phone: There´s to little internal space and to little RAM, so we can´t really use the, compared with cm7, heavyweight cm10 to its full extent, ask Crazy Seed if you don´t believe me, he tested the ROM for me .

I believe you, but damn, such a waste, you're missing out on a whole new experience. Anyway thanks for all the answers, I guess I'll install the CM7!
Yes it's true, cm7 is the best rom for the mini pro and cm10 is simply too much heavy for out phone, i honestly don't think there will ever be a 100% stable fast cm10 for this phone because the hardware can't take it. Kilroy's cm10 rom it's true that has more space, and it's still in constant testing for perfecting the rom, there's still a long way to go but in time there will be solutions. I don't know why so many people want JB roms instead of GB roms, i tested both and the only difference i saw was that the cm7 performance was way too much better, but it goes with the tastes and choices of people.
Ps: sorry kilroy but i have to disagree about the other roms you mentioned, sonystyle has many bugs and lags and gingerdx has a radio bug and effect rendering not automatic at boot, but xperia blaze 3 rom is good for stock kernel and has walkman player ( i just don't like the srs trumedia that they put in the rom, best to remove it ), or else you just have to go trough the pain of unlocking bootloader and stuff to get Gingersony v06 the best rom for now.
Ps: Kilroy about jb players, now that i mentioned walkman player, why don't you try that one? xD.
Minicm7. its fast, very stable and excellent for everyday use. battery life is good. i have not had any major problems with it. Its awesome!
as been said before in this post, and also my opinion, GingerSony is now the best rom around for x10mini pro
