[Q] Xperia Ray - Battery life sticks at %100 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Looking for some advice on a problem I have with my Xperia Ray.
I recently lost my original Xperia ray which I had no problems with but the new one I was sent by Orange seems to have a fault.
The problem is the battery life shows %100 charged after only a few minutes charging. After charging, it stays stuck at %100 until the battery runs out so I never know how much battery life i have left.
Can anyone offer any solutions?

There is no such thing as battery calibration.
Return the phone if you have warranty and stock firmware.

it's ok now....it was fixed on its own....will update my post again for more information,if that happens again...

With my xperience i recomanded make few full charge/ discharge cycle. If you dont know current status of battery just charge about 2 hours and keep mobile on to his dead.

i have the same issue the battery status is stick tp 100%.i heared this happens when you downgrad your phone.what should i do know.pls someone help.there is too many expert and pro devlopers for ray.

found the solution: you have to remove sd card then flash a new kernel and wipe battery status then insert the sd card and the problem is solved.100%worked for me and bunch of other guys that had the same problem.

Here's what you do:
1) Flash .587 fw.
2) Flash new kernel.
3) Flash ROM.
4) Reboot.
Reason for this problem is not yet confirmed, but this happens after a battery pullout.
Sent from my WT19i using xda premium

Try to flash a new kernel which is compatible with your rom

For unlocked bootloader user, flash new kernel should do the job.
For locked bootloader, flash stock firmware is the option. Else, contact Sony.

Thanks..its working 100 %

It means that when you flash a rom ideally the battery stats are also wiped and the phone needs to "relearn" battery usage stats, plus phones are notoriously bad at guessing battery percentage above 90%. If you just flashed a rom give it a week or so and it should get better.

In my experience.... sometimes. I know that's vague but I have personally seen my G2 act strangely after restoring a backup and conversely seen it go straight back to regular battery usage. Flashing roms and low level system partitions cause our devices to do some strange things, it is completely expected.

If we donate, can the 0% battery issue be solved faster?

O.O
Really annoying can't take the phone out,it has been over 14 days, and there were even not a temporary solution for NEO(ARC users are lucky~)。
Someone says it's beacause the devs are not paying enough attention to this problem,so i was thinking,if we raise this issue, can more devs participate in this fixing project?

I have the same except that my turn off near 52%. After first turn off the phone do the same at every next 5%(47%, 42%, ....).
What date you have on the battery?
I have two batteries:
1. 10W37 (withstands up to 41%)
2. 10W29 (withstands up to 52%)
I think it is obviously the battery fault. That is its use and had to buy a new one. I`m waiting now for the package. The battery with date 11W09. I will check for new one and I will know you if everything ok.
Subscribe please if someone had a similar problem with BST-41 10Wxx series.

Random shutdowns.

My x10 is about 2 1/2 years old now. I'm unlocked bootloader and running Wolf's ROM. In the past month the phone has started shutting off randomly...it gives me an 'Android System...shutting down' message...sits on the screen for 10 seconds or so and then turns off. Doesn't matter what battery % i have left. Often when recording video but yesterday it did it in the camera app and then once checking twitter. Sometimes it can go days without doing it...other days its just really annoying.
Any thoughts?

Check out the battery status/percentage when it shuts down again... the message you are getting is the common one when phone is on low battery..

Looks like a battery issue... try wiping battery stat from recovery ( that's doesn't do anything to improve battery life) and let's see how battery holds up, that doesn't work try different ROM with different kernel... try tech devils ROM with doomlords kernel as it gave me almost 2 day battery life.. nothing works then buy a new battery...

When you have a new battery try a very lite ROM... having a lite rom helps in improving battery life.

Oh, yeah I kind of forgot that . I never used Wolf's ROM but Donut HD had this issue too. Make a full backup of Your ROM and erase the data (best also reflash the ROM). I hope this is only a data problem, not any hardware mulfunction

Thanks...but i've been on Wolf's ROM fo rmonths without issue. I did try restoring an old backup of it...no good. Then i completely wiped everything and reflashed it and reinstalled all my apps...and that didn't help
I think it's likely the battery.

No one can just know what's wrong with your device. Post all battery screenshots as well as BBS screens (including wakelocks). Then, people could tell you the root of your problem.

my battery is empty and when i hook it on to the pc with the usb cable it gets the charging battery screen but when i turn it on in download mode it says low batt cant download.. so odin doesn't see my phone...
i have cleaned the usb port and plugged in the charger nothing happend for about 20 minutes and then the charging screen appeared but it doesn't "fill up" (charge)
anyone?
