Zagg Full Body Invisible Shield vs. SGP Crumena Leather Pouch - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

okay. I'm not looking at cases for now, and I would rather want my phone naked. HOWEVER, I'm still scared to have it completely naked. I have ordered screen protector from sgp, and I wonder which one I should get between Zagg's full body invisible shield and SGP Crumena leather pouch.
Zagg invisible shield can keep the same original look of the phone and prevent the scratch. http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-evo-4g-lte-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
SGP Crumena leather pouch can make me feel and look the sleekness of the phone when I use, and it.can keep my phone from scratches when it's in my purse. http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/htc/evo-4g-lte/htc-evo-4g-lte-crumena-leather-pouch-series.html
Not sure which one is better. What do you all think?

There's no reason why you can't have both. However if it does come down to one or the other, I recommend the invisibleShield. I've used them on countless devices (two blackberries, my old iPod, three previous phones, my tablets and not to mention the installations I did for family and friends) and out of all of those I've only had ONE scratch (and I had it replaced for free) but it did save the screen on my device.
The pouch is also nice because it will keep dust and other stuff off your phone and it might even protect it a bit if you (oh, please don't let this happen) drop it. However the shield is permanently on, meaning it will always protect you from scratches. You'll only have it in the pouch when you are not using it.

I stay away from anything named Zagg. Ugly rubber junk.

I only need one or the other. You think shield is also permanent? I felt like they would be peeled as I use them especially those areas I grip.

Um...because its ugly rubber junk, lol. Rubbery feel, glossy orange peek look. They were good 5 years ago when there was nothing else out there, but they're way behind in the game now. The only reason they still do well is because they're in Best Buy and Radio Shack. Side by side comparisons with all the other top brands woukd show how bad they are. I've used about 10 different brands of screen protector over the last few years and I wouldn't use Zagg if you paid me

ughh.. so I started a new thread about Crumena, but no one has answered. :/ I probably have to find another case.

I'd personally go with Zagg... its military grade and has a lifetime warranty. Its comes off clean, line it was never there. I don't know about the full body protection as I've only ever used the screen protector but I'd buy Zagg again in a heartbeat. you're not going to use the phone in the pouch... most of the time you drop it, i guarantee it won't be in the pouch.

I've actually had them leave residue in the past. That was the thing that made me try other brands that led me to realize Zagg was one of the worst products on the market, just marketed well. I just don't understand why anyone would use a product that destroys screen clarity and feel as much as Zagg does.

I am using the Skinomi full body. It took time to put on, but it was easy to do. I wanted to protect my phone from scratches when I didn't want to use a case. The HTC logo on the back took about 3 days to fill in, but it did completely. Skinomi customer service is fantastic. They sent me out a replacement for the screen protector because of a defect and did not want the defective one sent back the way zagg does. Also, the screen protector self heals where I found that zagg hd does not. I have had pouches un the past, but ended up not using them because I found them to be a pain. I bought a few cruzerlites in different colors as well as the matte black Diztronic just for extra protection when I'm at the pool, etc. These cases are fantastic, very thin, and it's fun to change around the colors. I hope this helps.

That makes sense about the zagg residue... I've just never had that happen. As for the Skinomi, that's awesome. I didn't know it healed. Definitely going to check it out now.

No case ok?

I hate cases as a rule, will the naked screen with GG2 on S3 be safe to just put in an empty pocket and not get scratched? I take the back battery covers will be able to buy off eBay etc o XE released, so no problem in scratching that?
You are seriously going to just be okay with scratching a $700 investment and then just buying a new back off eBay? O if I ever damage my baby when I get it I will cry until mold grows on it. It word be the end. I am spending $700 on a phone I will use for 2 years .... no way would I use it without at least a full body Zagg. Have u looked into those? Since u are gung ho on no case?

I've had mobiles since 1998 and the only time I use a case is when I go to the beach, the rest of the time they just go naked. Never had screen protector either and I've yet to scratch or drop a phone
Phone goes either in a jacket pocket or a separate pocket in my handbag and I just make sure there's nothing else in there that could do some damage.

The problem with the GS2 is the part that scratched was that bit at the bottom that sticks out. However the GS3 has all one cover at the back so the only part you're gonna scratch is a piece of cheap plastic that you can replace on ebay for as much as a cheap case.
Gorilla Glass doesn't need screen protectors, everyone goes on about the screen quality and then puts a protector on it and ruins the quality right there lol. I have never gotten a scratch to my screen on modern day smart phones, just don't put your phone in with your keys....
This is what pisses me off with iPhone users...
"Samsung phones are made from cheap plastic"
Just feel like yeah but at least we can see our phones and it's cheap to replace parts on it. When you buy an iPhone if you drop it the metal dents or the glass shatters at the back because it's made from cheaper glass than the front. So you have to buy a cheap looking ugly case to cover the phone, making it bulkier and you never even get to see your phone until you sell it.
Now you get these people saying...
"GS3 has a Pentile screen it sucks"
Oh look they have a screen protector on it which makes their screen look like ****.....
Just don't put anything on the phone.
I'm thinking of going the naked route, been using my SGS1 without a case for the last year, and other than some scuffs on the back from putting it on hard surfaces and drunkenly sliding the phone when I pick it up, I have not noticed any significant scratch problems.

Yeah, my daughter still has my old N1 which has never had a screen protector on it and the screen is still just fine after some 3 years or whatever it has been. SGS2 same thing, got it when they came out, no screen protector, no scratches.
I do run cases though just to get the grippier surfaces. My own wish list for a phone would include it coming with a hard rubberized exterior that I didn't need to get a case for. Something soft enough to be grippy but hard enough that it didn't catch while going into or being pulled out of a pocket. A material like what is used on the seidio innocases.
I can see there's a for and against!
I hate cases in. general as others have said the phones are made 8.6mm etc then a case goes on and boom its a monster again!
I have tried Zagg and others but it does make the screen worse, better protected I agree though.
My iPhone 4 had a full zagg body shield on, with my XE I have a spare battery back cover so no need and a slip pouch for when its in my pocket, best of both worlds I think?
My S1 is coming up for 2 years old now and the only protection I have ever had on it is a screen cover and a pouch that I slip it in to and its still mint. I have already received my new leather pouch for the S3 and it will also come with a new screen protector from CPW
Screen protectors are overrated...depending on phone. I've had my gnex for 5 months with no protection, in pocket, dropped on floor and not a single scratch. The S3 comes with even better glass via gorilla glass 2.

I always go nekid, any and all cases make the phone look retarded IMHO .
I'm naked.
It's a gamble, naturally. You do not want to be naked if you're somewhere with a lot of sand. If you plan on reselling the device, it might also be prudent to take precautions. But if it's just going to be for you, you can do whatever the hell you want.

I can recommend one:
Samsung Galaxy S: Normal usage, naked. For in my pocket.
I hate it when my girlfriends cleans my screen because it's dirty because of fingerprints, it reveals all little cuts in the screen. But it still looks nice though.

The rear of the GS3 is all one removable cover unlike the GS2 where the part prone to scratches was part of the main structure of the phone on that part sticking out at the bottom.
So if the GS3 gets scratched it'll be on that cheap bit of plastic you can replace for a tenner.
I hate covers & cases, too!
If you have dirt in your case or cover this scratch the phone too. Look at the bumper for iPhone 4(s)...
On my latest phones xperia play and EVO 3d I only use an screen protector and when the backcover a scratched I buy a new.
I want to use my smartphone in 1 Sec. in hands. No opening a cover or cases.
Yesterday I preordered my s3 and now I look @amazon for a screenprotector.

I never use cases or screen protectors and I've never had an issue. I usually do buy some kind of pouch for the phone though, especially for when I'm at the beach, which is pretty often.
Have to agree with a couple of the above posts. I don't mind a nice sleek case with minimal protection though. I tend to take very good care of my electronics so its a rare occasion for me to drop my phone. I like the size and shape of phones nowadays and some of these cases are overkill. Especially the otter box ones.. lol, they make your phone just as big as a gameboy .
As for screen protector.. no way. Will never get one. I've tried a bunch and they ALL take away from the smooth glide of the naked screen IMO.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
I'll probably get a screen protector for it at some point. I was thinking I'd go naked in the beginning... when the phone is still new I tend to really baby it and obsess over it, but later on at some point I always, without fail, either drop it on the ground or accidentally put it in a pocket together with some keys or something.
The best screen protector I've tried is Copter Screenprotector+++, I don't know if those are very widely available in a lot of different countries. I think it's a Swedish brand and I don't think they're very well known.
I've tried InvisibleShields, and I find them to be way too grippy and rubbery. The Copters are OK, sure they do add some grippiness to the screen so it does mess with the feeling of the touchscreen but it's the least grippy one I've tried.
I don't much like cases... and if the battery cover gets scratched, I bet that later on you can get those off eBay for 5 bucks a pop... On that note, I would really like a see-through battery cover! Mmmmmm.... *daydreams*

What is the best screen protector?

I'm thinking about ordering a screen protector and need to know which one(s) is/are the best. The one that's on my Otterbox Defender has an oily look to it that I hate so I'm most like just gonna take it off and replace it
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
In fact, i would like to know that as well...
I've always used the zagg invisible shield. The screen doesn't get oily as easy, and zagg has a lifetime warranty. If you damage your screen protector and want a new one, go to zagg's website, follow the procedures, and they'll send you a brand new one in retail packaging, then you send your old one back. You do have to pay them $4 shipping though.
Any clear one would work fine.
Don't use the anti-glare protectors UNLESS you want all the color on the screen washed out.
The best screen protector is keeping it by itself in your pocket. Haven't used one in years.

I've used Invishield and found that they felt sticky/odd. They also tended to discolor and peel over time. I now use Phantom Skinz on all of my devices, and have been very happy. No peeling or discoloring. And they self-heal if scratched/nicked. Also, when you order online, you get 2 screen protectors for less than the cost of one Zagg protector. They're website is phantomskinz.com
I have tried several brands over the years on various phones. Zagg is very popular. I think it is more because of their marketing, and the facts that every cell phone store, Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc have them in stock on the shelf. But personally, I do not like them. They seem sticky to me. They are also not as resistant to damage as others.
I much prefer SKINOMI. They are very similar to Zagg, but hold up to abuse much better IMO.
My judgement of this is based on the abuse my wife's phone endures while in her purse. She has a wallet that has been bedazzled beyond belief. She just tosses her phone in her purse with all the rest of her stuff. When her phone rubs on the wallet, it often gouges or scratches the Zagg. But the Skinomi holds up much better. Rarely ever gets any marks.
Same lifetime warranty on SKINOMI. To top it off, Skinomi are usually about half the cost of Zagg. And you can almost always find a promotional code for Skinomi to get 25% off and free shipping.
Wow I looked up Phantom Skinz and their prices are great! Plus they have me a 30% off code and I believe shipping is free. I think I'm going go with that. Hopefully it won't disappoint.

Honestly, I find that when I have a case on I don't drop it, when I don't I do...so I have the htcpedia one that came out before the phone, nice fit by the way.
As for the screen its the same deal, I had an epic and went naked for almost a year and ended up with those tiny hair scratches that seem to come from nowhere and drive me batty! So sgp ultra crystal on the way to save my sanity.
Bottom line, used to go naked but not anymore, although I reserve the right to change my mind as I know I will lol

I've got get naked right now but I'll probably buy a case for it because it is slick, I don't do screen protectors anymore though, my old Evo didn't get scratches and with gorilla glad this one shouldn't either. The main reason I got a case for my old Evo was to keep the camera from laying against things and getting scratched but this new camera, even though it protrudes a Lil the lens is recessed so it should be fine. I may keep it naked.

I decided to go naked on this one. Used to buy cases but the bulk is just too annoying sometimes. Try the Spigen screen protectors, no rubbery feeling at all.
The ghost armor screen protectors are pretty nice, no rubbery feeling, no grainy look from the anti glare screen protectors... I'd recommend that
i like to go raw too, but not with the lte.
Always naked as far as a case goes. I do have an XO Skin on the screen and glossy back, though. I learned my lesson with my E3D, when I dropped it on the pavement screen down and it slid maybe 3 inches or so.
I only dropped and damaged my OG EVO once. I put a nice little ding on the edge, but other than that, it looks practically brand new. I always had a screen protector on my old EVO and never bought a case for it. The screen protector saved me a few times.
I'll eventually get a case for my LTE, but I'm just waiting for something I deem worth buying. Perhaps a nice silicon, something with a thin rubber padding, I'd like a case that provides a little bounce incase I drop it. The glass is so close to the edge on the LTE, I can just imagine the aluminium siding sending shock waves through the phone and exploding the screen into a million tiny pieces.
On that note, this is my first phone with Gorilla Glass, so I honestly don't even know if I "need" a screen protector. But I'll probably buy one eventually. After the whole ZAGG proximity sensor problem I'm just waiting for a legit protector without any quirks. I'm know they are out there (In abundance) and my lazy butt just needs to "look."

Clear no-liquid screen protector recommendation

When I got my phone, I was going to get the $15 pack of Sprint screen protectors: the dry ones I've always used. Except... they were anti-glare and they don't have clear and I don't like the sparkles and reduced resolution of anti-glare or matte screen protectors. So the store talked me into the Zagg. I'm not a fan of the wet-apply screen protectors but thought I'd give it a shot for once. To each their own: some may love them, but I hate this Zagg screen protector and find it almost unusable! Orange peel out the wazoo (I can live with that since it doesn't reduce resolution) but the worst thing is that it's "sticky" like soft rubber. I can't even slide my finger (well) on this thing! Tried cleaning it and no amount of cleaning, washing hands, pressing lighter, etc. fixes it. Sliding my finger feels like I have dried sticky soda on my fingers.
So... being early in the game, has any one found a dry-apply clear screen protector they'd recommend, either from local stores (Best Buy, etc.) or online?
Edit: Maybe I should have posted this in accessories, but thought maybe someone had a solution to the sticky Zagg so I put it here.
Thanks,
Mike
Well i always used the cheapo SP, and i ordered four for $2 from Ebay the other day. Took like 2 days to get to my house. Only thing is, is that it dosen have the cut-out for the proximity sensor, but it functions just fine. Turns off when i make phone calls and everything. Some may not have luck with others that dont have the cutout, but this one works just fine. heres the link. If you want, i can send you one to try out. I have always used clarivue screen protectors. Top notch and super easy to put on with NO bubbles. Little expensive ($15) but it comes with 2. I put them on every device I have. I love them.

Thanks,
Mike

I just got these . Man its the best protector IMO. It doesn't scratch and you can't even tell its on the phone . Fits the phone perfect . Not rubbery like the zag .

Zaggs loose their stickiness over time, but Steinhel seems to be the best.

I've personally always liked and used Zagg. And it will slick up over a few days. If not, take it back, they are great on warranty. That being said, I got the Zagg HD for my lte. Can't tell it's on there at all.

the problem I have with zagg is that ridiculous price of $25...no way in hell a piece of plastic should cost that much.

I always buy the full body clear protectors from www.BodyGuardz.com, it always helps my phone resale value too. This time I went and bought the Black Carbon Fiber skin with the screen protector. Makes the Phone look and feel much better too. They also have Red and White.

I purchased from a luckeyminky on eBay. It is the type with two step application. First step exposes the sticky side. Smooth out the bubbles. Then remove step two layer. I reccomend cutting the top right cornner . It will get caught and eventually pull the protector off. Also if you get a piece of lint use one piece of scotch tape to life the screen protector another to grab the piece of dust. Did that last night with awesome results.

Who else goes naked?

Over the years have realized that I can't stand using a case. Especially with the beautiful note 3.
Anyone else just keep it in their pocket like me and hope for the best?

Haha yeah! same here
I just can't stand cases, nor can I stand screen protectors.
Although if the phone falls, I have no one to blame but myself

i will use a spigen neo or slim armour whichever i like more if they ever come in ugh and as far as screen protectors i havent had on a device in years. got a spigen in already and going to try it but it may come off the same day i put it on lol
I just swap out the battery door for a metal one.
I tried a plastic bumper on my note 2 and it just trapped dirt and made it scuff up the edge faster

Oh man I feel the same way. I love how the phone looks on its own without a case.
However if I did drop it and break it ill never forgive myself lol:laugh:
maybe ill just get a bumper
I can't stand cases. If it's a polycarbonate/plastic phone cases no makes now sense.
If it's a metal phone like iPhone/HTC one, then you sacrifice the sweet touch of aluminium on Ur phone.
Hate screen cases even more cos it adds so many steps in reaching upto the screen.
It's a phone for God's sake. You don't buy a BMW Z4 and cover it with plastic while driving.
I love to feel the aluminium and glass and hence no case no screen protector. That's the reason I guess we pay extra for Gorilla Glass.

Me too, can't understand why everyone is buying expensive cases, phone get's thicker etc.
In case you drop your phone a case is helpful, I agree to that. But, no risk, no fun.
Also with Gorilla Glass 3 there is no need for any screen protectors.

Its the same principle as using a condom...It might be more enjoyable without one but do you really want to take that chance of something bad happening?

No case, but have squaretrade warranty.
No case here as well as no screen protector.
My wellsfargo credit card comes with free accidental insurance when I pay my phone bill with the card. It allows up to 2 claims per year and only have to pay $25 per claim. That's cheaper than paying for a good case and screen protector.
Currently naked (love the feel), but got a bumper off eBay coming soon.
Same here, no case but mandatory clear screen protector

Naked Here ..
I paid a LOT of money for this phone and I guess part of that is for the design.. It doesn't make sense to hid this beauty with some plastic .. saving the phone for the next buyer..
Well, when I do go naked it tends to get noticed more, and the police don't look upon it too kindly either
Seriously though, the first phone that "I went naked" with, was my Note 2. It got battered, so considering I've spent £100 more on this bad boy, I've given it a TPU condom
But just waiting for Spigen to make the slim armour case (or whatever it's called) then will give it some all round yet, svelte protection.

Don't you think Gorilla Glass 3 is already sufficient? Adding extra stuff on the screen degrades the image quality.

This.. And I dont use cases. Just look at the phone with one on makes it look so much think, ugly and down right crap. (Reminds me of bumber iphone cases) and it gets grit, dust and all sorts of crap in it the case. Just relax, use the phone as intended and don't keep it brand new looking in a case for the next owner. Enjoy it yourself.
You dont by a new car then keep the seat plastics and door transport plastics on it...No you use it as intended .
This phone cost 5500kr (990 USD) In Denmark (thanks Danish tax etc.) so I'm going for a thin bumper and a clear screen protector
No screen protector but I have to use a case or I get nervous, I'm very careful but I've had it slide in the car a couple of times and between seats where it would have been marred had no case been on it. I do take the case off when I'm relaxing at home to admire it tho lol. I use a clear case btw so I can see the back and it is hard gel providing more grip.
I won't think about going naked until full body protectors come out. Even though it doesn't protect from drops, at least it'll protect it from scratches.
