Hi all,
Hope your well.
Im having the same issue too when trying to install apps. Exactly the same message. just over 6GB available in storage.
Im trying to install friendcaster no luck.
Tried to install you tube too, no luck. I have checked data/apps and I have no Odex files in there. Also, I have not installed friendcaster before on this phone therefore there will not likely to be any odex files for that app.
I am on Omega Rom, which is deodexed.
Btw, where is internal storage gone? only see SD storage and ExSd storage.
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks guys

Having odex files is the issue that comes to mind but if you have checked it and there isn't any related to friendcaster then u should try wiping cache n dalvik to see if that works.

Salaam bro.
Thanks for your response.
This may sound silly but I was trying to think back a few days ago if I had made any system like changes to my phone. I then remembered that in one of the settings menu in Rom Toolbox, there is an option to choose where to install apps. Auto, internal or SD card. I changed it from Auto to SD,thinking (logically) it would save internal storage. It turns out (so far)that this was the issue. I changed it back to auto and then I was able to install the app. Wierd I know. Im confused. I hant tried to install anymore apps yet so not sure if this is sorted for good but will keep an eye out.
Once again thank you for taking time out to respond.
Btw, all the best for Ramadhan!! (next month!!)

U shouldn't need to install apps to external as u have a lot of memory this time around n u can also use a lot of software to move game data to external sd and run them from there by Binding the directories. Anyways best of luck to you to buddy for Ramadan. Do remember me in your prayers. Tc. Fe Aman Allah

If you use that naughty luckypatcher program it can cause the out of space message as well when you try to install some programs.

Request for some apps file

Hi guys,
I have recently make a wrong decision with my Gs2. I tried to use Titanium backup to change All Sharing and Social Hub as a User Application. And that result in these apps disappear from my phone. I tired to put the dlna.apk and social-hub.apk back to the "system/app" while nth new come back after a reboot. I think that's because i miss the odex file related to the apps. As I am using Offical Hong Kong Rom KG2, would somebody like to help me by uploading those files [dlna, social hub apk&odex]
Thanks

I got those APKs from the list you have posted.
And install them by using root explorer
My way to install is to move from sdcard to "/system/app"
I even changed the permission of the apks but still they don come back

You just push them to the /system/app/ folder and reboot - that's all a recovery zip would do.
Thx Guys!!!!
My finally method was reflash the official rom..... that nearlly kill me as i have to reorder the application icon which take me an hour to finish that....
I don know how to use the recovery method but hope this post would help others who face the same problems.
Btw is there any apps to backup the order of icon in Application page? Rearranging them again is damn horrible if u got tons of apps......

Use root explorer and go to root, data, apps and delete poweramp from there. That should solve your problem.

"Android is upgrading" on every reboot?!

I m using an X.Mini on Mesa Kernel 1.4 and stock rooted ICS.
I uninstalled Sony s crap,I restored my apps with Titanium Root,
rebooted, wiped dalvik cache but now I m getting the message that Android is upgrading and starting applications on every boot.
Plus it takes more than usual to complete each restart.
So,what should I do?
Maybe wipe cache partition?
There must be a solution!

Me too, I don't quite understand what happened. It looks like your dalvik cache gets wiped every time you restart. However I don't think Titanium Backup has that behavior. Maybe you created a bug when you deleted some system apps? It's difficult to remove system apps since the install is odexed by default AFAIK.

If you use Systemapp Remover (paid app) it will handle that for you.
@OP and anyone else, yes, if TB is messed up it can cause the wipe of dalvik cache on every reboot. No it is not a setting, but if you messed with an app with out deleting the odex then yes it can screw up things on you cache. But thats not because you deleted the app with out odex, it would mainly be the way TB handles that leftover odex. Most likely it just leaves it there.
Best thing to do is reinstall TB, if it happens again, boot to cwm, wipe cache and dalvik, then fix permissions. After first reboot, wait for system to settle then reboot once more just to check its not doing it. Then go into TB, just run it. Don't delete any apps, then reboot again, with TB running in the background and see if it happens again.
If it does then it is a problem with either that TB version, or with your .apk. so either download it again or try a different version. Or wait for an update.
Another possibility is the way your rom is handling TB removing apps. In which case you rom is messed or again its the TB version not working correctly for your fw.
Cheer, hope I helped,
Evil.
I don't understand the technical aspect of this but in practice it did work!

Dats ICS Feature.....
for me the best way possible to solved this problem is to disable TB from auto-backup your apps....also it will be more practical to fix permisson (using Rom Manager & etc) after you have restore a backup from TB....
while i do have TB on my phone, i prefer to use SystemApp Remover (paid apps) cause it is a simple apps for remove/backup your apps....

[Q] Having read/write errors, any advice? [Solved]

Hi,
I am experiencing a problem, please if anyone can help.
When I tried to open QuickPic, there is a popup saying that "Not an Error. Unable to Read/Write in Database" something like that.
When i try to open Gallery, I can't even open the app. It says memory full, delete some application, etc.
When i take a screenshot via power + home, it says Unable to save screenshot, try delete some space etc.
When i try to send a image over whatsapp it says cannot preview image.
I have plenty of space in my internal and external sd card, i have cleaned the caches, wipe app data etc, fixed permissions in recovery but no luck.
Any other solutions?
I am on Neat rom 4.8 lite. Thanks
Solved
Okay i found the problem, basically i connected my s2 to a tv via usb to play movies, the tv installed a corrupted read only folder on my internal storage, not sd card, which was the culprit, after deleting that folder with the unlocker application on pc sorted the problem out. Thanks everyone for helping.
Backup entire sd card (internal + external) to pc then in cwm format sd card internal+external and restore files back

Before you do anything could you post a screenshot of your settings->storage->Device Memory, I just need to confirm whether it's a bug or something.
Edit:After looking at that we could probably fix the problem.

Use a nuke script perform a complete wipe data/cache/dalvik, restore rom.
Edit : The precautions are the usual things which you did when you flashed neatrom. You will have to backup everything in a computer though . After the wipe just mount the sd card via recovery and copy your backup back.

It could possibly be the problem, if the device drivers got corrupted due to that usually a reflash could solve the problem, try flashing with several different roms and kernels if this ain't anything at hardware level it should get fixed.

Did you just come from a 4.1.2 rom? If so use grab a file manager from the market and look under /data/media/.
If you switched to a 4.2 and up rom, you will see /data/media/0(this is your NEW home directory and all your data is hiding in /data/media/.
Simply move everything to /0 and your space will be correct again.
I did a full wipe into 4.3. Will your solution rectify the issue still?
Edit: I deleted the folder because i had no need for anything there. Do i have to Do this everytime i install a 4.2+ rom?

Only if you go back to a 4.1 rom, its a google thing I am not versed enough in, but hopefully it helped you out. You can do some reading up if you so choose. Because 4.2 introduced users, they had to make a change to file structure to support it if I am not mistaken.
Did it fix the issue?
Edit: Which folder did you delete?
Yeah I've noticed it messed where I had to point rom toolbox for backups.
I deleted media folder in data. Rebooted. Reloaded some apps that were affected by it. It seemed to get rid of the files in my 0/Legacy/SD and one more folder, finally freeing up my phone. Thanks for the help!

Hello Sir I'm in the same situation. So all I need to do to get straight is go to data media and delete the media file. Then reboot and I'll be straight.
I'm aware all my pictures and stuff will be gone but that's OK. Will I still have my recovery. If so it would probably be wise to make a nandroid now. Correct. Thank you for any help.
