[Q] [REQ] Default build.prop for SI 1249-4832 - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I'd like to try stock ICS for my SK17i SI (1249-4832) but since I'm on FXP 7.2 now my build.prop says my SI is something else. I tried to edit build.prop for correct SI but it shows no updates.

Could someone please post a default build.prop or help me edit the current one?

You need to have fully stock ROM first in order to receive the update.
Also, stock kernel and relock bootloader.

I can always flash some GB ftf and upgrade from there or flash straight up to ICS but it's not what I want. Wrong SI gives me wrong hardware keyboard layout and also problems with wifi.
I.e. I'm trying to find a way to go to full stock with correct SI for my phone.
I was desperate enough to invest 1,99 € for Wotanserver but the f*cker crashed on me twice and then I gave up.

You could flash a .ftf and then edit your build.prop with the wanted CDA, in order to get your region's update

I tried that. I flashed some generic ftf and edited following lines in build.prop:
Code:
ro.semc.version.cust=1249-4832
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/SK17i_1249-4832/SK17i:2.3.4/4.0.2.A.0.42/j_b_3w:user/release-keys
ro.product.name=SK17i_1249-4832
After first reboot SEUS and PCC said no updates. After second reboot a boot loop occurred.
So there must be something else in build.prop that I must change.

Uhm... bootloop after the SECOND reboot? That sounds strange.

Boot loop comes after SUS tries to update (but cannot find the updated firmware)
Still looking for the build.prop...
Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro using XDA

Editing si number only in build.prop and cust.prop will not fool SUS or SEUS.

How about PCC then?

In your build.prop dont put your si number there,look the CDA list for your phone and choose your region and in build.prop you have to put your region CDA there,DONT put your si anywhere,just CDA is that you have to edit

the CDA or SI is also seen at the back of the phone, right?

This is the full FRF91 ROM customised for Vodafone Europe... probably has some +/- with respect to generic North American FRF91

You, J, and myself, have a SERIOUS flashing addiction, lol. I think we've tried just about every ROM release out there amongst the three of us. The Kangs, Rods, eViLs, Innovations, Enoms, Cyans, Modaccos, etc .. lol. Every last one.
I'll be talking to jlevy on gtalk, and next thing I know I'll get a message "New build" .. and immediately I drop what I'm doing, pending importance level, and get to downloading and flashing .. even middle of the night. *sigh* ..

Well, I'm quite a ROM addict and I've flashed this (except the hboot... it's got the new 17 hboot as opposed the the 12 hboot in the ATT/TMo ROM) and other than some VF specifics like APNs, i've not noticed any difference...

[GUIDE] How to change default theme on CM7.2!
Warning if you follow this guide wrong your ROM will boot into a STAGE OF FAULTY.
which means your ROM will boot but...when its booted,the phone will be blank white, since it cant read what to display.
Also when you reboot into recovery when phone is on, you cant tell where the buttons are so best if this happens is to pull out the battery, wait 15 seconds and hold your recovery combinations.
OK here is how you do it.
First you MUST have a CM7 Rom, nightly will work too.
Now you need to have a theme you want to make default for me ill choose, ICS Transparent, what you have to do is find out the signature name of the theme, mine is something like this, com.android.ACHEP.Ics.
now go into your build.prop
under android.sdk type this
*Theme~
ro.id.default=your themes name goes here, so mine is Ice Cream Sandwich
ro.com.default+ID.Theme=your signature of theme goes here, mine is com.android.ACHEP.Ics
ro.edit=your android sdk number so mine is 10
ro.start?=then right here when will the theme apply, write "On Boot"
so it should look something like this
*Theme~
ro.id.default=Ice Cream Sandwich
ro.com.default+ID.Theme=com.android.ACHEP.Ics
ro.Edit=10
ro.start?=On Boot

[Q] Problems connecting to Wifi

Hi All,
I've been having a few issues on my S3 with connecting to any wifi network for a while now. I've tried 3 different ROM's (Samsung JB, CM10, Codename Android) and countless modems (currently back on BULG2 all with no change in behaviour). I've also been messing with the build.prop but have restored to stock again (see below).
The issue is when I go to connect to any wifi, I see it on the list, press it then it instantly loses all but one bar of wifi signal and sits there saying "Connecting..." then flickers back to the "Secured with WPA/WPA2 (WPS available)" screen and retrys... This goes on in a loop.
Any ideas how I can fix this? I've exhausted my ideas and Google...
Many Thanks - Trev

Flash back to stock ICS via Odin and then reflash CM10 etc I had this problem and it worked for me
The stock ICS out of the box is LG8
And for future reference, never edit build.prop, That only makes more problems
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Thanks - I was dreading that answer but I reverted to stock and re-upgraded to Codename, all working rather nicely now. I'll leave the build.prop alone now, I was just having a play to see how much trouble I could get in )

[Q] Tablet S won't upgrade

I bought a Tablet S refurbished almost two months now and since I got it I haven't been able to do the OTA upgrade to 4.0.3, every time I try to update it I either get a failure to download error or it downloads the update and it stops a quarter of the way during the install after reboot and then it starts and gives me an error code 5. I'm pretty much frustrated and I'm this close to selling it, Is this a common occurrence? Is there a simple way I can root the tablet and download and install the update?
PS. Would the fact that I bought the tablet in the US and I'm now in the Caribbean have any bearing on this?

So I emailed Sony and they say it is a RAM problem and the device has to be serviced...needless to say its outside of warranty. Has anybody ever experienced this?

You will need to use 4.0.3 or higher, you can not install 3.2.1 if you are allready on it. Can you please upload your /system/build.prop and tell me the exact model code from the back near charger plug. I will have a lookskey and point you to the right file

Oh you are on 3.2. Also you are US region?? Then look here http://www.4shared.com/folder/LwQh2332/SONY.html the file you want aka 3.2.1R2 is 0042.001.zip. NB: If you install ICS R1a or higher (i think) you can not go back to HC. If you like it then stay. also note that this 3.2.1R2 IS ROOTABLE
EDIT: If that does not work then please try 0035 then 0042

Search for "CREATE OWN ROM FOR ANY ANDROID DEVICE" in this forum, I cannot provide the link as I am a new user
Maybe you can make a ROM out of your working tablet to flash on the bricked one...
Good luck
