official 4.0.4 rom ?

just a quick question, will there ever be a official 4.0.4 rom pushed to kies or do you think we have stopped at official 4.0.3
ive had a search around and found nothing so dont hate me if this has been said before
cheeers guys
I don’t have a clue!
Obviously we will have the update, weather it be 4.04 or anything newer is anybodies guess
WHY STOP AT 4.0.3 when its far from perfect ok reword it ... it still has bugs so any time soon we'll see newer builds as and when they happen..
I think sammobile announced that samsung is working on 4.0.4 for sgs2.. Maybe they got it from their informant inside samsung

No buddy, it is a more stable version ics. Phonearena said that jellybean (if that is what it'll be called) maybe 4.1 or something like that since it may not be much of a change from ics.

30 March 2012 .ICS
The latest Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) firmware update has been made available for owners of certain Android devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone and Motorola Xoom tablet. Owners of these devices in the UK and US can now download Android 4.0.4 over the air. Google has promised to extend the update to owners of other Android devices in the coming weeks.
Google claims the latest build will deliver “stability improvements, better camera performance, smoother screen rotation, improved phone number recognition and more.”
Tomorrow.
hope its rolled out very soon and some real improvement done to the ICS battery drain..

Well there is no real mystery. AOKP etc has been on 4.0.4 for ages so you can easily read about it.
Major battery drain on Sammy firmware in my experience is in the bloatware and exchange.
If Samsung move to 4.0.4 and slap the bloatware on top what do you think the outcome will be?

This might just be a minor fix. Wi-Fi issues, radio fix, cleaning up of bugs, optimisation. memory fixes....but, i wouldn't stop dreaming.
pray for jelly bean
Let's pray that it will be jelly bean.
Dude, seriously?
Jelly bean?
Oh god...

Hold your horses!
Even if it's jb, it will take a few months to land in the phones. It's probably a few fixes and some optimization as already said which also may never be released.

Jelly bean a few weeks after ICS drops?
Not a chance.
Why would Sony have put all the effort into ICS if they were just going to release Jelly Bean shortly after that?
as version numbers are pretty must same.. (6.1).. my guess is just some fixes..

Yes i've installed it , some improvements like :
Album now show photos instantly
More sensitive touch
Less ram used
But it is same build 6.1.A.0.452
So 6.1.A.1.58 is really new update
Since the new version is 6.1.A.1 instead of 6.1.A.0 I would expect something more major than WiFi fixes.
Increase the 452 for minor fixes is more.logical.

Anyone could make a .ftf file ?
Am I the only one here that hopes about a better theming update?
I really miss the artwork Sony made for the GB firmware.

Well there's no need in certification for a test build (as no need to officially release it).
It may be the same difference as between initial firmware and first upgrade, there we had x.x.x.X.x change too.
Sony is showing us that they know how to use numbers lol

If it was jelly bean they would announce it...
It is likely not JellyBean, it's a big bugfix update.
would surprise me anyways if this was jb as P and U didnt even get their ics build.

I think this brings more of bugfixes, as i find few bugs (the ones that i do mind) even on latest .58 build!

yes, i also tested 58.
Fastcapture & Bravia Bugs are still there. i am getting suspicious why they put camera on lock screen in first place!
i am not great fan of jelly been and my suggestion is dont be too excited about jelly been! why? Adobe Flash does not support jelly been
proof?

It's definitely not JB, come on its Slowny we're talking about. If it was JB then it would probably have been something like 6.2.A.2.34 or something.

Yes, exactly! And the interesting thing is that quicklaunch/fastcapture works without fail (i.e perfectly) if you are charging/phone is awake/listening to music/screen is unlocked. It only fails randomly if screen is locked/phone is asleep, and i've mentioned it before, that most bugs (quicklaunch/proximity sensor etc) on ics imo are related to locked screen/display off!

Off topic: Are you nitish shah...if yes, then weren't you active on the galaxy 3 section as well?
there must be something
to this ICS, i just hope it arrives sooner than October, although I am satisfied with my GB 2.3.7, I won;t be able to take advantage of ICS, still, it's best to have the latest update... is ICS even the latest or it is just us having Late-software update?

This isn't a Samsung phone, or a GS3, so of course it's different.
You should buy a product how it is, not what it could be.

Will begin working on CM10 (Jelly Bean) when I get it.
ICS For U is coming around end of this month.
Just like Xperia P got ICS.
Even Sony has released this on ther facebook and twitter

I can not promise how long time it will take and how much will work... but I will get it to work as fast as I can, with the resources I have.
So what is the real reason why it take ages for Sony to bring us ICS ?

Sony wants it to be as stable (in this case as few bugs as possible) as possible, before releasing it .
