How to sync music with iTunes? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Coming from the Iphone for many years, is there a way to use iTunes to sync music onto the Galaxy S3? I have all my music organized there so I hope I don't have to switch.

isyncr has been working well for me.

I used a program called Itunes agent...it should work as long as you can get the phone connected in USB hard drive mode. It creates a playlist in your itunes library with the device name and you drag the music you want into that playlist.

How does Isyncr work? The thing is that I don't want the complete itunes library on my phone, are you able to select?

Transferring music to my galaxy

I'm a converted iPhone/iTunes user. This is my first android phone. What's the easiest way to get my music out of iTunes onto my Galaxy?
Thanks.

If you just use google music and download the music manager, from there choose the file folder for your iTunes library and google music will upload it all. You can just use google music to stream only, or you can make it available offline and download the music

Or you can just copy and paste your music folder onto the phone.
Then there are also other sync options like DoubleTwist which is very similar to iTunes (don't use it myself but it's known to be like an iTunes for Android if you're into that sorta thing)
search for iSyncr in the Market

I just transfered my library like this, but the tags are all messed up. The tags are fine on my iDevices, just the Galaxy. Specifically the Albums are split up. They show up as different albums even though they have the same name.
Mine show up fine. Although I am pretty meticulous on editing my tags in iTunes. Could be that there are different entries for the Artist and Album Artist.
I just copied and pasted. The only thing lost from iTunes to the phone was album artwork. Which is slightly annoying but, something I can live with. I tried using kies to do it that was a mistake though.

I just switched over to CM7, and the same music folder is showing up fine. Maybe it was just the stock rom.

Yeah. I'd rather just use Windows explorer.
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Yeah windows explorer is the best way to go. When I tired kies it was.to see if I would keep the artwork. None of the tags stayed at all. So I had to delete and use windows explorer again.

I made a playlist for my galaxy in iTunes then synced the playlist to Doubletwist. It copied the playlist over minus some artwork. I've got the artwork now. All is well.

I use iSyncr, the best app you can get to sync all of your iTunes playlist (every single one off them). I also came from an iPhone and at the beginning had difficulty finding an app that would provide all the functions itunes had from the music aspect.
Try it.

[Q] How To Transfer iTunes Music List To Galaxy S3?

Is there a way to transfer all my music from my itunes to the galaxy s3? iSyncr seems nice but gotta pay for it. If there isn't any other free way than I'll try iSyncr but for now looking for a free hassle way of transferring.

I'm pretty sure you can use Kies to transfer the files from your iTunes library
Kies worked fine for me..

I've used both doubletwist airsync (since galaxy s3 can't get into mass storage mode) and tunesync but failed to load my songs as both of them literally took nearly half an hour just to transfer 4 or 5 songs...
I've tried kies as well which worked fine but lost all id-tags (titles, artist, composer, and album art) and wasn't worth spending hours manually changing the tags out of the 10,000+ songs i have..
Any other methods exist lol?
Thanks for the help and feedback guys
Use an external SD card?

Kies wouldn't let me connect same with double twist so I had an external micro sd card to just and used a usb adapter transfer my music and was all good works for anything to transfer to your phone and would recommend buying one as there is an extra slot not being used.

I used double twist and just put the SD card in my computer, not in the phone and it copied it over pretty quick, Id say 20-30min tops for about 9gig.(not sure I just started it and walked away) Then just put the SD in the phone, all good

I recommend DoubleTwist too, this is the app I tell iPhone users that I am able to convice to try Android based phones and none of them have had any problems using it... The kicker is, I've never used it myself! HAHA

App to sync iTunes with Android.

Is there an app to sync iTunes with my Android that converts the files from apple lossless to 256kbps while syncing ?
iSyncr (with cable), or iSyncr wifi. If you use the developers music player (rocket player), the play count is also synced

Thanks, but It does not convert them as it syncs. Apple Lossless is not supported by the android stock player, which is why I am asking.

maybe the app: DoubleTwist might help you? I know the developer of that app previously was very into "hacking" itunes/apple

long time ago I used a app called iSyncr it sync iTunes playlist from iTunes to android phone
the iSyncr has a pc as well as a android app

If its just on the ipod and not in itunes then you are going to need to get the music onto you pc first before you get it onto the android. Something like "SharePod" i think it was called will let you do that. There are others that will let you pull the music out of an ipod backup also, I had mixed success with that. One the music is out, put it in itunes and then use either DoubleTwist or iSyncr to get it onto the android.

iTunes to M8 Music Syncing and Podcasts

What's the best app/software for syncing your iTunes playlists and music. Also podcasts as well. I'll buy it if I have to.

Honestly I uploaded all my iTunes stuff to Google music, totally Free and will hold 20k songs. Just downloaded Google music for the pc and pointed it to my music folder containing all my iTunes stuff. Took forever but it's basically free iTunes match

I used to use isyncr on my s4,worked great.
On my M8 I tried the HTC sync software, and it worked. All 30gbs of my desired music playlists transferred onto mounted external SD card.
For podcasts I use beyondpod since coming to Android.
**Edit. I just realized HTC sync copied my desired music, but not the playlists themselves. Hmmmm

Upload all your music to google music. Thats the best way to go. For Podcasts, get Pocket Casts from the Play Store. Very good.
