Not all games. Games that are not optimised for ICS only have issues.. Others run fine. Infact even better

ugghh that sucks... currently using bboof's hybrom v17.. but he QUIT. lol. I rmb stock .52 played temple run WITHOUT lag. Even hyrbom lags and ive not tried any rom that doesnt lag when playing temple run..

I'm thinking he is talking about gaming experience in gingerbread. Cos this game does not support ICS and yet gameloft didn't released an ICS update for it. Btw ICS update for Asphalt 6 works smooth( not 100% smooth) when I overclock to 1.4ghz while it worked good at stock clocks in gingerbread :/

i have read it somewhere else that games lag on LwW after ICS upgrade. but to avoid that, we just need to install again after the upgrade, and they run smoothly. right?
i upgrade to ics using pcc therefore i did not do a factory reset. so all my apps from gb are still on ics.
i tried temple run, to be honest it works slighly better and smooth and smooth then while i was on gb.
maybe its just me

the laggyness is jus coz of some applications running in the back ground jus clear it n try again it sud rum smoothly..
try going to "settings>developer options>background process limit" then change it to "no background processes" though i feel faster gameplay but maybe its just a placebo effect.
Did you open many apps before playing? Or you can try to clean the RAM.

[Q] Xperia Neo V Gaming Perfomance

Hello guys, this is my first post here in XDA
i'd like to have some tweaks to increase my Xperia Neo V gaming perfomance, i'm using original gingerbreak, and i'd like to know the best ROMS and kernels, my xperia neo v is freezing while playing ''easy'' games like temple run and fruit ninja, heavy games like GTA 3, Kinectanimals crashes and reboot my cellphone, or just close.
Thanks
To me Stock ROM is the best and try "Night-elf Kernel"
one thing don't use any task killer/RAM optimizer cuz its slow down your system.
Try codename 8 by emanxperia.

Agree
Stock 2.3.4 + Kernel Night Elf 9.6 full + delete some unnecessary apps from /system/app/ and you have got the fastest rom that you can have.
Dont use supercharger, nitro busters, adrenaline busters, task killers etc. It's all one big crap... that slow down phone
So, i just need to change the kernel? The original android suports it? i need to unlock the bootloader to do this? Thanks a lot for the replies
I'm using 4.0.1.A.0.283, is this possible to use the kernel you said?

That for ICS. He's on GB. IMO night elf's is the best kernel for GB. Also unlock your boatloader before flashing a kernel.

It is an ICS incompatibility. You'll have to wait for your games to be updated. Or do as I did. Reinstall them. I lost all my data. But it has lesser bugs. But that didn't fix all the bugs though. So if you want to do serious gaming, go back to GB.

not now, but when devloper update the game,
and i think unity engine is fixed as temple run works with newer updates, so we can expect other games will work soon...

Try "GingerBread" instead of "gingerbreak " that might work....lolz:laugh:
well saw that there someting called gingerbreak too...for rooting....:laugh:
For better Experience I just Downgrade ICS to GB. My neo is Running Stock .62 and Night-elf Kernel 9.6 lite. I tested more than 50+ games in ICS but only Few of them worked and they still had some bug or gilth.
So, my Suggestion is to stay GB and flash a good kernel for better gaming performance ^_^
Never upgrade to ICS if you really wanna play game in Neo
BTW, here is my thread which I made to let others know which games are working in ICS 4.0.4

[Q] Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V - Touch issues with app games

guys,
I'm facing some problems to get my games running on ICS4.0.3 on Xperia Neo V.
They just stop tp working when I'm playing stucking the touch and with no response. Do you know if there's a known issue running game on this android version? if you have tips to solve this kind of problem (I'm using the official retail version) or a better ICS version (even it's customized) I'd appreciate. thanks in advance.

I am using ICS and I didn't get any issue while playing HD games. It would be case of free phone memory. Whatever apps, games that you installed move it in to SD Card. I used do that. So you will get more space while play a HD game. Try that !!!
Does games like Max Payne work better on gingerbread as well? Ive had some touch issues on games like that.

ICS VS GINGERBREAD (gaming on p500)

Today we have stable ICS .
its smoother than gingerbread in User interface.but I felt that it is not good for gaming .
Some games started lagging after installing ics which games had never lagged in gingerbread ...

I use genetICS as a daily driver with chainfire 3d and caf kernel and gaming for me is pretty relaxed..than again I'm not really into gaming. I'll occasionally play a game so when I do, I have a good kernel with chainfire and a high OC setting of 768/480 noop performance

GB continues being the right option to play games.
At least on my side, GB uses less ram than ICS. I also think the kernels also make a difference. There's a lot of "gaming" kernels for GB (my choice would either be PP 1.7 or franco's) while you only have two kernels for ICS, both of which do not seem to be tailored for gaming.

Well, I couldn't really tell because I'm not a phone gamer (I play Switch, Angry Birds and other things to kill time), but it's not that bad. Switch is veeery smooth, Angry Birds doesn't lag at all, so... I would say it's bad for gaming. Maybe only for games that need a lot of RAM.
PD: In GB y had OC and used CF3D, and still some games were kind of slow compared to ICS. So, that's it: if we had some more RAM, maybe... who knows?
