With the svdo you can talk and use 3G at the same time. I have my GSIII and tested it.
Yes you can talk and surf on 3g. Received my sprint gs3 yesterday here in NYC and that was one of the first things I tried out.
it works on 3g network in Chicago area.

It could be done on any gsm phone but on CDMA it has to be SVDO for it to work newer phone and tower upgrades

Yep. I was able to keep a solid LTE connection this morning in Boston from South Station to Faneuil Hall.

Its abt time... I had my og evo since the day it came out and was only on wimax twice once in boston n once in providence... Atleast now im not as mad paying the extra 10 for something i couldnt use

In lol besides that is a test on 4g on network it says LTE unless he photoshoped it but if he did he would of removed the WiFi icon and I would of put like 40 or 50 or something

OK I was using wifi tether from play store I used it for maybe 30 min my data speeds dropped a lot because of this I use to get around 2 mbps now I'm getting maybe 0.70 mbps I looked in the build.prop some of my network stuff was missing like I forget what they were called like the default hsupa was set at 28 there was some others set at like 7 and 4 well they are gone do I just reflash the rom?

I've had the same issue for awhile now there is no fix so you will have to buy a new phone it really doesn't bother me just I wished the HTC amaze had better hardware but I can't complain lol I get same speeds as metropcs not there 4g but maybe 3g so I'm good lol

Well from what class said I dont have a choice cuz my data speeds dropped a lot and the cause of it was from tethering I have almost a full bar of 4g but I'm only getting 0.60 mbps when I should be getting around 2 mbps he said there is no fix for it
