what is the max heapsize for the s3? i have a transformer prime and the max heapsize for it is set to 256 and it has a quad core but only 1gb ram. the s3 has dual core but has 2gb of ram. any one know what the max is?

I am currently trying to decide which phone to buy, please those who are knowledgeable please help.
I have two options, both are china clones.
1)
MTK6577 Dualcore 1.2ghz, GPU SGX531.
2GB ram
5.5inch 1280x720.
2)
MTK6589 Quadcore 1.2, GPU SGX544
1GB ram
4.7inch QHD 960X540.
Personally I think at the end it's a dualcore/quadcore and ram tradeoff. which is more important? quadcore or 2gb ram?

Hey guys on gsmarena are mega 6.3 is based on dual core krait 400 which is good than galaxy s4 krait 300 if the battle for single core or dual core only. Do you think if there is a kernel development here we can overclock it to 2.3ghz just like anandtech says.

I think it is snapdragon 400 with krait 200, not krait 400 because krait 400 is belong to snapdragon 800....
I think the most correct is Snapdragon 400 using Krait 300 similar in specs (and performance) with Galaxy S4 mini. You can find the exact chip model in the internet. Krait 200 for Mega is a typo error as according to Qualcomm website Snapdragon 400 with Krait 200 runs only at 1.2 ghz max whereas Krait 300 runs at 1.7 Ghz (Mega 6.3 and S4 mini). Krait 200 is slower vs Krait 300 even when run on same freq and is used by entry level phones (not Mega 6.3). You will also find Snapdragon 400 in quad-cortex A7 flavor for entry level phones (slower than Krait 200).

225 is way better, 305 is just old 205 on steroids ?

Adreno 305 is more like a cut down Adreno 320, it has the same feature set just less power.
Adreno 305 is equal or to much bettter than Adreno 225 depending on the graphics benchmark used. The only drawback it that it's usually paired with a slower processor and ram which holds it back.
For example in Nokia Windows Phones the high end devices its Adreno 225 is paired with 1.5 ghz core's with dual channel memory and 1gb of ram. While the mid to low end devices with Adreno £305 only have 512mb of single channel ram and use lower clocked cores.

I am thinking of buying zenfone 5 with intel atom Z2560 1.6ghz dual core cpu n PowerVR SGX544MP2 gpu with 2gb ram
But I there is also xperia sp but with jst 1gb ram
So which will be future proof amongst the two

Lenovo A850+ with octa core Cpu @ 1.4ghz and only 1gb ram and Mali-450MP4 gpu?
or
HTC Desire 526 with Quad core cpu 1.1ghz and 1.5gb ram and adreno 304 gpu?
I dont really know how the Adreno 304 and Mali 450 compare , but the adreno is just 1 step below min requiment. And would the superior CPU make up for the lack of ram?
