The current CWM is not capable of mounting the sdcard. Team Epic will fix this in a future build.

Is CWM supposed to appear in the app list? I know it does on the Epic but it does not appear on my s3. I can boot into it though.

Bump

I've never seen it in the app drawer. But you can download quickboot from the play store and use that to reboot into recovery

yea, niether is mine, I was wondering if it had anything to do with the size, its a 32g? I had been planing on posting a question here soon to ask about it? I always have to use my phone as the only choice when looking in CWM?
I am having the same problem. My ext sd is not showing in cwm. My version is 5.5.0.4. The same thing when doing backups. Only internal.

Same thing here. Ext sd was working then I flashed the newest version through rom manager and now my external doesn't show up. The card it fine and worked prior. It also works in android

I saw this too. I had an external in and had to place it in both DCIM folders and it appeared in one or the other

I flashed 5.8.4.5 via ROM manager and everything is right as rain. Both internal and external show up now.

Help installing CM10

I'm having issues upgrading from CM9 to CM10...
I downloaded the zip file of the most recent CM10 experimental and when I try to install the zip in CWM recovery it says that no files were found. I can't seem to pull up any of my files on the internal sdcard.
I had no issues installing CM9 or any of the nightlies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any other idea?
have you tried in the option to mount the internal sd card?

Is there anything I can do to check into this? I have never had any problems access my internal sd other than this issue...
Maybe you switched the mountpoints in CM9? Can you access your external SD card (if you have one) from the recovery?

I don't have an external SD. I have no problem accessing my internal SD when the phone is on but just not when I'm in recovery.

When I go into "choose zip from internal sdcard" I get the option to install emmcupdate.zip . What is this all about?
Any ideas?

Just do it the hard way. I can't think of anything else. Flash a Samsung stock ROM, then check whether the same problem exists there.

[Q] Grey/dead apps

Hey guys this is my first time postin on xda and i seem to have a problem with my rooted samsung galaxy s2. I have recently lost a lot of apps from the drawer and in the app manager they appear as grey icons. is there anything i can do to restore them back? i have tried rebooting, fixing permission and wiping my caches but nothin seems to work.
thanks,
Zubeyr sahid
You just moved your apps to SD Card.. move them back to internal and they should work fine after reboot there are some apps that requires to be placed in the internal sd card.
I hope this helps cheers!

I can't sorry. whenever i click on those grey app icons and try to move them to internal memory it saysit couldn't move app and app does not exist. help?
First take backup of apps from titanium backup and then do a full factory reset from cwm recovery..because I think this is the last option left.

it looks like those apps are installed on your SD card.
Unmount and remount your SD card, then reboot your phone

i must of got on the wrong board, i have the nook color, is there a similar thread for nook color
thanks
Probably but I'd suggest getting your fundamental understandings down first. Cwm is a custom recovery; the recovery is a completely separate partition on any device and that's why you can't just install an app. You could possibly find an app like ROM manager that you could install and from there flash CWM to the recovery partition.

installing custom roms

I have been having a weird problem installing roms to my rooted galaxy s3 I9300
i have the phone rooted, i have it backed up with nandroid, and i have clockwork mod recovery on the phone.
when i boot it into recovery mode the phone doesnt see the roms i have on the SD card. from all videos of "how to install" they were left in the zip folder therefore i decided to leave them there.
any ideas anybody?
Are you selecting sdcard then ext sdcard?
Otherwise its looking in phone not external
