[Q] Stock Firmware with HTD region code. - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm new to all this. Having looked at the different threads about upgrading firmware and the excellent video in the stock firmwares thread, I wonder if there's any firmware I can use that will allow me to set my region to HTD afterwards?
Thank you in advance,
Peter.

Does noone know this?

You can only use the HTD (3 branded crap). But change the CSC to NEE and use the updates Samsung wants you to get.
Det er derfor man ikke køber telefoner der er branded.

Ok, thanks, which firmware should I get to be able to change it to NEE?

From SamFirmware:
I9300XXALF5 4.0.4 2012 June I9300NEEALE4 Nordic countries
Is the newest Nordic release.
And the link: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/160853925/6030920/I9300XXALF5_I9300NEEALE4_NEE.zip.html

Hello. Thank you for the link. :good: Are there md5 checksums anywhere to control that the download is intact?

When you unzip there will be a CRC check and when you flash the file will be checked before flashing.
Swyped on my Galaxy S III

I've flashed the ROM you linked to, and it worked fine, but when I go to change the CSC from HTD to NEE I still only see HTD as an option. Do you know why that is? Thanks for all your help!

Only way I know will require a complete wipe.

If you are on Stock ROM then Kies should allow you to install the latest official KF3 firmware. Anyway, you can flash it via Odin too, here is the firmware link,
http://www.multiupload.com/4QE1L97ZGF
And change your Language to English UK from English US under Settings- Language and Keyboard.

KF4 is after KE7 as in K is 2011 E is a month 7 is build
No change logs published by Samsung .
and how do i know what is the language of the ROM?
By reading the instructions on the first page of that link .
CSC is the consumer software customisation and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service provider.

Region codes.
This helps me a lot.
I ran a google search but i didn't find which is better and what is the diffrent
ZS = Hong Kong
XW = ?
There is something i would prefer?
Can I install any ROM i want? if i have XW version this is possible to install ZS?
You can install any ROM's any time over any ROM. ZS is dedicated for Hong Kong, ZN is China, why should you install them if you are not located in those countries? XW is open region I guess, it's mainly for Europe and some other Asian countries like India and else.
Regards.
My Region is israel what rom should i pick?
XWKF3 is earlier from ZSKF4

Regards.
I have found that XXKG6 ROM have the support i need but nothing mentions about JH. This ROM Runs android 2.3.4 i have 2.33 , If I will install the ROM
it will change to 2.3.4?
If you install a 2.3.4 ROM then you will definitely have 2.3.4.
Regards.
After i flashed the ROM, can I just install CSC with odin?
And if i will flash another kernel CSC will be removed right?
Kernel doesn't have anything to do with CSC. I don't the first part of your query though.
1. When flashing while i'm in install mode i always get an error:
cannot access system/csc/dbt/system
this is normal?
2. I have Frankenstein XXKG6 it seen to be great but there is an RTL fix to this build?
if not what is the recommended firmware that support RTL?
Hi All,
My firmware version for the S2 is
PDA: I9100XWKF3
Phone: I9100XXK27

[Q] [.TAR] Flashing with official Arabic ROM by Samsung

Hi All,
I want to flash my Galaxy S II with Samsung's official Arabic ROM using Odin 1.83, I only have the (http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9100.htm), here's the ROM info:
Arabic Firmware CSC .PIT Android Country Date
I9100JPKG2 CSC = OJP EXT4.PIT 2.3.3 Egypt 2011 July
*) Will the ROM work on my attached SGSII version?
1) I only have the firmware .TAR file, do I need the CSC, Phone, PIT files?
2) From Options, shall I select the Re-partition option, or only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options?
Thanks all
1- Only select PDA, that's it.
2- NO. Keep the default check boxes.
Regards.
Thanks man, please see the attachment, will it work on my European device?
Any firmware will work over any firmware pal. That's why we have great Odin there
Regards.
I'll do it tonight
Thanks again
U r Welcome.
Best of luck.

[Q] Need unbranded Australian firmware

Howdy.
Hoping some one can direct me to a working unbranded firmware for SG2.
I have obtained one listed at Sammobile:
I9100XWLP8_I9100XSALP4_XSA
4.0.3 2012 April I9100XSALP4 Australia
But it is not in english (I think it's polish or something) and just crashes the phone so another working one would be more useful I think.
If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Also, assuming a working firmware exists, is it likely that the phone will stop crashing on start up or is something else likely to be causing this problem. Thanks.

1. Wrong forum
2. Flash this firmware, it's the newest unbranded one and contains all the languages.
Thanks for that. I can't find a link on the web page to down load the firmware.
You can get I9100XWLP8/I9100XSALP4/I9100XXLPS/I9100XWLP8 which is unbranded AU stock ICS from Checkfus. Search for the PC version on here/Google. Then choose Android/I9100/Australia GT-I9100LKJXSA in the pulldown boxes. On the left hand side it will populate the product code/PDA/CSC/phone fields, then click 'check firmware'. This will give you the the details I mentioned in the first line.
From there, click 'download' & it will download/decrypt an Odin flashable firmware package you can flash following the usual instructions for flashing firmware with Odin (put the package you download in the PDA section of Odin).
Thanks for that,
Does anyone have a straight link to a download please. I'm not in a position to install software just to obtain a download.
Also can anyone advise why the device boots in to a non english language when loading Australian firmwares.
I have tried about 5 different "Unbranded australian firmwares" and they all boot in some language I can't work out. It's eastern european or something.
The phone must be in out of box state when these firmwares are loaded because it doesn't just boot up like when I first got it. There are a series of what appear to be questions I have to answer before the phone will start up. Then it crashes.
Also does anyone know why it would just crash on a new firmware that apparently eveyone else can use without problems. Is there something else I need to install apart from the firmware?
Do I need a kernel or something else with these firmwares?
Any useful help appreciated. Thanks
Does everyone have to read in those characters in the box before they have to post. I find it very difficult to read whats in the boxes. It takes 5 or 6 attempts before this forum accepts my codes.
I found a web site where you can lookup if there are firmwares available.
I'm not allowed to post it
its the home page for that checkfus program
Unfortunately there are none for Australia. Can anyone suggest a working set of droid OS downloads I can use to get this phone working again please?
Full wipe, flash stock ROM, it will be in English.
There are many stock roms for Australia at Sammobile.
You can also use check fus down loader
I am still trying to get a download for unbranded Aust stock ROM GTI9100. Sammobile does not recognise a search for this phone so maybe they no longer support it. I agree trying to get a simple download without having to join another site or get hit with malware is well nigh impossible it seems.
Hi @trebleguy , install this first .
The ROM contains all languages.

you ain't having a nandroid from your original ROM?
If not, choose the most up-to-date one for your carrier, phone and region and flash it, that's it I guess.
Remember though, to reset counter (if it is not still 0), if you want to send it back to service.

If you got a nandroid and you want to go back to stock, why not flash this one?
As your link shows, ELLA is newer than ELL4
