[Q] Sensor Readings with screen off - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

I use DJRun when i run which is supposed to change the song you're listening to based on the accelerometer reading to try and match the beat of the song with your running pace but when I tried on this phone it comes up that the display has to be on for the accelerometer to be read. Is there any way to fix this or something I'm just going to have to deal with?

[Q] Headphone controls

I recently changed my ROM to Cloudy, everythings going great apart from one issue, not sure if it's ROM related or not.
Pressing buttons on the standard headset brings up WMP, even if I'm already listening to music on Sense music player, makes a bit of a mokry having to take my phone out to skip tracks.
I've searched just about every term I can think of to see if anyone else as had this problem and finally gave up to ask the experts.
Anyone able to throw any light on how to make it work again?

Sound randomly turning off?

Anyone else experience this? I have had it on FM radio, Music player and Google Listen, they just randomly stop for no reason. I had a similar issue on a Desire S so might be a 2.3 issue
Yeah if you have motion turned on, the FM radio and other music functions will turn off when you turn the phone over. Simply go into Settings, choose Motion and make sure the option called Turn Over is unchecked if you don't like the feature. I personally don't like it myself as my phone moves around a lot while listening. If that function is not checked, then you may have a problem with your phone. My guess is that its turned on though. I turn off all motion as I find it may chew the battery a little more plus I never use any of the tilt or panning features

Stop screen wake on bluetooth action..

I use bluetooth streaming in my car and whenever I change track or pause/resume music, my phone screen wakes. This is really annoying as it is a waste of battery (my main power sucker) - the whole point is that I don't have to touch/look at my phone while driving. I cannot understand why this would be done and surely people who use bluetooth headphones know what I mean.
Anyone have any idea on a fix, I cannot find a useful reply anywhere!
In case anyone cares, I have found a way that is better than nothing using the app 'tasker'. If my phone is connected to my head unit and the screen wakes up without sensing anything on the proximity sensor - the phone immediately re-locks. This means it will only flash on and I don't have to manually lock it again (or wait for my long timeout). If I want to use my phone I just put a finger over the sensor when waking the screen and it allows me to unlock like normal.
BT wakes display
On my Z3 Compact, after phone connects to car bluetooth /BMW professional/ it everytine turn on screen. My previous phone Z1Compact did not. After connected to car, the screen remained off. Is there any fix for this waking screen caused by connection between phone and car BT? Thank You for any answer

Music volume fluctuates when GPS speaks

So, I just recently got a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I installed the same music application to my phone that I had before (HTC Desire). I never had a problem like this before. My problem is that, while playing music, the GPS interrupts the currently playing song (which is fine), but then there is an EXTRA interruption after this which also causes the song to play at a slight low volume, THEN return to normal volume shortly after. I remember that there was an option to enable/disable volume loudness protection or whatever and I THINK this is the culprit. BUT I CAN'T FIND THIS SETTING ANYMORE!! Does anyone know a solution to this problem? This has been bugging me for FOREVER. I use my GPS often because I often drive to locations I've never been for or barely go to, so this is a REAL pain in the buttocks. -- I also will be using it for the next few days!! :crying: So I would like to fix this, but if there's no fix, I guess I can bare through it for the next few days...
Running Serenity ROM v1.2 with Ktoonsez kernel.
EDIT: Forgot to also mention that this SOMETIMES happens with notifications and such, so I do not think it is the GPS's fault either.
EDIT2: Clarification: Want to get rid of that annoying second interruption that I mentioned earlier!! --I looked in developer options, sound, and EVERYTHING....still couldn't find it...
EDIT3: I searched online and nothing popped up useful (I think I wasn't searching with the right keywords. Kept getting results referring to headset not having any sound at all which is not right.)

General Proximity sensor activation in direct sunlight (like in my old "1 II").

This happened to me even with the 1 II (in use until a week ago): in direct sunlight the proximity sensor activates by himself.
The problem occurs expecially when on the holder in the car during a sunny day, and as I use an app (WaveUp) to activate and lock the screen with the proximity sensor I have the phone always switching on (or closing a song on Youtube while playing)...
Now I received Android 13 but I didn't had yet the chance to test if the bug's still there.
Anyone with this problem?
