[Q] Getting rid of stock widgets?

Is there a way to get rid of stock widgets like MyZine and the
weather widgets? I really dont like either one and they just clutter
up the desktop.
Do I need to "root" the device to do this?
I'm a first time android user so be gentle
Thanks,
Mike
You do not need root to change location of any of the widgets or icons on the screens...
Simply do a long press (press and hold) on the widget or icon in question...If you have the haptic feedback (vibrator) on, you'll feel it pulse after about a second. Then, in the upper right corner of the screen, it will change from the APPS and + to saying "REMOVE". Just drag the icon/widget up to remove and it will be removed from the screen.
The widgets will still be on the tablet, should you ever wish to reinstall them.

Don't delete stock apps, believe me, it's a nightmare when you try to ota update. If you're rooted and have titanium backup pro you can freeze them but do not delete, I learned the hard way.

[Q] Screen and background question.

Hi, is there a way to move the screens around without having to move all the icons one by one? It seems when you add the screen it puts it at the end and it is a pain in the neck to insert it somewhere in the middle. My phone is not rooted and I don't want to use a different launcher.
Also, is there a way to set the background to pan as you go from screen to screen?
Thanks...

[Q] Home screen icons can't be moved, all of a sudden.

Hey guys, I can only move icons out of my lower tray (where the apps button is) onto my screens. I can't move the icons back or even from one screen to the next. If I hold down an icon, it never becomes available to move unless it is in the lower tray (I've been messing around with it and now I only have the apps button and one other button left, all others have been moved out but I can't move any back).
I was listening to earplugs while mowing the lawn. When I got done, my gmail icon (which normally resides in the lower tray next to the apps button) was moved up onto my home screen. When I tried to move it back, nothing happened. I tried to move one of the other icons in the lower tray, address book, and was able to move it to another location in the lower tray and to the home screen. But, I can't move it back to the lower tray either. Nor can I move any icons on any of my screens to a new location. Holding the icon down does nothing.
Does anybody have any ideas?
I'm rooted with S-Off running Viper One ROM.
Thanks!!!
This may or may not be the case but does your launcher have a "lock screen setup" option to wear you can't move the icons?

Android update 6.0.1 issues

For me, after the update there are several issues:
Home screen apps were removed.
I can't remove icons from home screen. Dragging works, but can't reach the trashcan on top of the screen... It works only when automatic screen rotation is on and the phone is used in "landscape". In other situations the top of the screen works fine, just can't remove icons from home screen.
Where's the option to arrange icons by Name? Is it been removed? Could'nt find it anywhere.
I refuse to believe that these are all my own problems

After the update?? The phone came with marshmallow already, you mean the incremental firmware? All the things you say are there. Try to re-flash the firmware. You don't need to wipe user data, Only if you want a clean installation.

Using a default launcher in pointless, when there are a lot good alternatives available, so select some and just use it.

Need some advise

I need some advise, i have a few questions about the phone which i have been trying to sort out without success.
1) Is there anyway to move the google search bar at the bottom of the home screen ? I cant get rid of it or move it at the moment
2) I cant get rid of the date and time at the top of the home screen. Usually you press and hold and drag up to delete
3) I tried to work around the top 2 questions by selecting a different home screen but i cant seem to do it. Is it possible ? I press and hold an empty part of the screen to select Home screen setting but that's as far as i get. Also tried pitch and anything else that came to mind. I can not delete a home screen either.
4) Icons don't fit and leave a white boarder around the edges.
I also tried a launcher which seemed to help the first three points but the icons still didn't fit
Will it still have badge counters next to the icons or missed calls on screen? What are the pros and cons of using a launcher?
Thanks in advance
JP
