[Q] Email count on LockScreen - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
Having just got my lovely blue S3, I have been going though setting things up.
I have noticed that when the phone is locked and I get a text message when I go to unlock I see a lovely icon saying SMS and the number of messages in it.
Is there a way of getting the same type of notification with emails? Is there a setting I need to turn on?
Thanks. eon

Notifications in home screen

hey guys,
i have noticed that if you receive more than 1 message or email the home screen shows the correct number but when you go into message or email folder and you open only one message the home screen will show that there are no messages left. Aany idea how to fix this?
Im having the same problem, I know this is an old thread but its the only one I could find. Im using Kavanas 6.1 with sliding pannels. I also get 15 min reminders that I have an unread message but can never find one but it only does that part of the time.
I just noticed that this is not the same phone. I have htc-s620

[Q] New Message (Unread) Notifier?

I have seen this issue on other phone forums via search, but I seem to be the only one with this happening on a Vibrant. Every time I get message the yellow icon comes up on the notification bar but then the old school white message icon comes up too and the drop down just says I have unread messages.
I tried turning off the notifications in the messaging options but that removes both the yellow envelope icon (I want that) but not the unread messages (white postcard). Even after "read" the messages it stays there until I hit clear notifications then pops back up when I get a new reply.
Anybody have any ideas on how I can fix this? I am rooted running the stock ROM with the recent OTA update.
I also checked the SIM for any stored or saved messages and at one point deleted every text I had.
It sound slike you have another msging app installed - like HandCent or something.

[Q] CyanogenMod7-Notifications

Running CM7 (SGSII ATT)
I cannot seem to find how to make my phone vibrate when I recieve a text message, or have the message notification display on top of apps when I'm in a other app. (e.g. the only way for me to see if I have a message is to go back to the desktop)
Any help here would be appreciated.
Has anybody figured out how to get the notifications to beep while on call?

[Q] Remove Email Notification

Heres a strange one, yesterday I received an email and I now have a green email notification bubble with a 1 in it on my lock screen and main screen.
The problem is don'tt have any email accounts setup on my phone so I cant open it to remove the notification.
Does anybody know how I can get rid off the notification?
Thanks

Standard mail app - notification sound

Hi Everyone,
I keep having the following problem with my Galaxy S2.
In the standard mail app, I've selected the option to make a notification in the status bar when I've got a new mail, I've selected the silent ring tone, and vibrate is on always.
The phone itself is also in silent mode.
I keep ketting a sound when I've got a new mail, and its annoyingly loud. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Only when the option to make a notification is not checked, I do not get a sound. But then there is no notification, and no orange bubble with the number of new unread mails.
Can anyone help me?
- some extra info: standard samsung rom, not rooted.

Update: I still have not found where I can turn off the sound. A new SMS makes the same noice. It is annoying as hell and I'm close to hitting the miserable piece of **** with a hammer.
