I've been thinking about it and when you look at it the price may be a decent. Yeah an Apple TV is only $99 compaired to the $299 that the Nexus Q is. While on the other side of the coin The Nexus 7 is $199 to the $499 that a new iPad is. If you want a whole Apple vs Google ecosystem in your house the Google system is actually slightly cheeper when you look at it like this.
(Of course you still have the older iPads that are $399 but that's for an old device and we all know how Apple people feel about having the 'new' thing)
I'm not even going to go into the cost differences between iPhones and Android phones. But just for a Google or Apple brand tablet and tv device It's about equal to probably being in Androids favor just looking at it quickly.
The Nexus Q also has features that you don't get in an Apple TV but instead you'd have to purchase a Sonos device. Those can be more pricey Than the Q.
I don't know the specs on them exactly or even all their options but I do know they are expensive enough that I would never consider them as they kinda just do the one thing.
The amp feature in the device was deffinatly strange to me at first. Especially with it only being a 2.0 system. $300 for just a stereo is to much.
So I really need my own sound system for suround sound to my home theater. That's cool it has an easy connection but then the amp is worthless. But if I wanted to buy a second and play music around my whole house or put put it with my secondary tv the smaller one that I don't care about surround sound with then the amp thing is acutaly pretty nice.
I'm not trying to push anyone and I doubt I'll buy one (at least right away) as I have a Roku, and a couple HTPCs doing different things. I gave my boxee to my parents. There are lots of options out there.
If I ever wanted to wire up my whole house for audio as well as connecting my tvs a couple Nexus Q's costing about $600 doesn't sound like to bad of an option.
The problem is not the price in general but the features which cause this price.
Me and many other people don't need an integrated amp... If they would sell a version without the amp i'm quite sure it could be better priced ( i'm certainly interested in paying more to support the fact that it's build in the usa although i'm not from the us myself).
I'm actually having the opposite concern than most people apparently. I don't have a stereo or surround system, so i would absolutely use the amp. Only trouble is, i also want an audio passthrough so i can pipe my xbox audio through there too. i wish the optical out was an optical in.
I have one and have been playing with it. As far as the amp, I hooked it up to a pair of pretty good Cambridge Soundworks bookshelf speakers and it sounds quite good -- but like most people I already have a 5.1 surround system for my main stereo, so this would need to be for another room if the amp was going to be useful.
I don't think most people have a pair of regular-wire speakers laying around, so I'd really like to see it have a 3.5mm jack for the more common small, powered speakers. As others have said, it also needs to play local & other network content (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, ...) before I could see it taking off.
Definitely a cool design though!
My question would be if you hook up it's own speaker system, AND an optical system, could you get it so that you get the same room choice option when you choose music to play? (AKA use each of the speaker systems in a different room).
I love the Google ecosystem and I love the design of the Q, but the price is too high. period. No logic of iEco vs. NexEco is a sound justification (no pun intended). Google missed the mark here big time. If they would have hit the $99 price point that it should be at, I would buy 3: media room, bedroom, and bathroom. At this price point, I buy 0. When it comes down to $99 in 12/mo I may buy it.
Google needs to add the Q functionality to these new low cost google tv boxes like the Co-star. This will speed up adoption and new use cases.
The capabilities of the Q could be the best thing ever, but if you never see anyone use one, you will never buy one. By having Google Music /Movie Party something that anyone can realistically use with commodity hardware, more people will buy into the PLAY ecosystem.
The Q should be the audiophile product, and make a cheaper Q to use like a Sonos Bridge so people like me will buy one for every room in their house that hook up to 3.5mm speakers.
If nothing else, I hope the Dev community figures out how to use Q style functionality on just tablets and phones, that way I can take me box of old android phones, hook up computer speakers, connect them to my wifi, and have multiroom , multi zone audio.

Yeah I agree on the price being a little bit high. Yes it does come with a bunch of features, but in my opinion, who needs a built in amp? I want to pump this bad boy into my surround sound unit. I mean Apple TV is only $99 and it has some killer features, minus the built in amp. I guess I'll have to see one in action to see if it is actually worth it.
To me it's just that you don't get enough for the price. I'm not opposed to spending $300 for a device that can handle multimedia in a great way but the Q, as it stands, does nothing respective of a $300 device. Sure, the AppleTV is fairly limited considering it's $100 price tag...but there are plenty of other options out there. Boxee, WDLive, Roku, etc... all cost *significantly* less than the Q and offer far more functionality.
In the future, this device could be worth the cost...but at the present moment that's just not true. If we had the ability to "Airplay" it might be different...but as it stands very few people could even make use of the *existing* features of the device. When people come over and want to stream stuff to the device I can't expect them to only stream from Google servers...very few people actually *HAVE* anything on the Google servers.

Not actually true. There have been recent reports where with shipping and rising laboe costs in China where it is getting to be cheaper and more practical to make it back here in the USA. So the making it here is not the reason for the increased price. I do beleive that they are trying to push a Google dominated thing based on Apple. But I believe that will back fire on them as that is the kind of thing we dilike about Apple. It looks to me like they want you to buy both the Q and the Nexus and be tied to the Google lay store this is why they aren't offering other choices like Hulu and Netflix however they do seem to be allowing the other Dev's out there to supliment that on thier own so they won't block someone figuring out how to stream Netflix or Hulu but they aren't going to help either.
I have all 3 devices. I think the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus are priced very reasonable and cheap in my opinion. The Nexus Q though is way over prices. I have an apple TV (only apply product) and it's much better when jailbroken of course. The Q I get google movies, youtube, and the option to listen to music. Not worth 300 dollars but if it had the full android interface with a remote then yes for sure it would be a great device to surf the web and play games on and watch all kinds of movies.

amp is gay to me. anybody buying speakers today should be active speakers. Unless they are huge home theather then you buy a discrete amp and use pre-outs on your AVR. You could buy active large home theater speakers but they are rare and more expensive
"bookshelf" speakers need to have their own amp. the speakers were engineered to work with the amp and not some random amp in a nexus Q. amp would only be nice for head phones
any speaker that could be powered by 25 amps is going to have it's own amp in it most likely unless they are some ****ty computer speakers

Just curious if anyone has any of these and how well they work. Best Buy, for instance, has the Sony MEXBT2500 for about $185 which doesn't seem like a bad price for it. Actually it seems like a really good price for a head unit with BT built in instead of requiring an additional adapter (that is nearly $200 by itself). I mean, BB kind of sucks but there are plenty of places who will price match and offer somewhat better service.
I've been using the MEXBT5000 (the 2500's predecessor) since January. It's the best BT unit of any kind I've ever used - its phone performance is better than any headset I've used, and the A2DP performance is equally good. I'd expect the 2500 to perform just as well, if not better.
Note that the 2500 doesn't have preouts, which may be a factor if your car has a premium sound system.

Then you will need an adapter to convert the speaker level output of the radio to something the amps on the speakers can handle. Generally speaking, though, when you install an aftermarket stereo into a system with a premium factory radio like that, you have to bypass the factory amps and run off the radio's speaker level outputs.
You could always wait a little bit, and buy a new car. Ford is coming out with the "SYNC" system that does a whole lot more than let you stream...

No offense but I've had it with American cars. When they build something reliable then maybe I will buy one but for the time being my '93 Infiniti J30 with 170K miles on it is far more reliable and will probbably outlive any US made car out there.

Haha. I think I'd rather pass on that. It would be much cheaper to buy an aftermarket stereo and pretty much guaranteed to be better quality too. OEM stereo system = teh suck. The premium ones are okay, but even they get their butts handed to them by a decent quality aftermarket setup.
I have tried to use the A2DP feature with the Sony MEXBT2500 with some luck, but with some problems.. There was an awful high pitch tone that comes thru the speakers when you stream audio via bluetooth to the head unit. I managed figure out that it depends on the Rom version of WM6 that I was using.. The best sound quality I got was from Nstefanelli's WM6 version...
I'm not that impressed with the sound quality on the flyer and was looking into getting some over, or on, the ear headphones. Any of you guys have suggestions for some nice quality ones?

There are literally hundreds of great over the ear headphones out there, but because I travel on airplanes a lot, I use a set of the Sony Active noise cancelling phones and they are magnificent. I don't remember the model number but I will look it up. I paid about $70 on sale for them. They fold nicely into a case.

My opinion of Beats by Dr. Dre is pretty much the same as most Monster products. Stylish and high quality but over priced and over speced without providing additional technical listening benefits for the overages. Plenty of equal or better products at half the price unless you are into fashion plates.

Well overpriced I agree with but they do work well. I have tried one of my friends, and I can't hear anything but the movie I was watching. They do work.

What I don't like about V Moda is their low durability. I've owned a few V-Modas and I practically babied them, but still, they lose their volume.
What's your price range admiral? Do you need noise cancelling and what type of music do you listen to?

using a pair of wireless bt jabra halo not bad sound nice and have a few functions that are useful....also fold nicely! price was decent also able to use them with my phone and other things quite easily
I ended up getting a cheap pair of Sennheiser isolation headphones. Paid about $40. It'll do for now. Eventually I'll be getting some noise-canceling for when I start traveling.

I bought some Beats Solo HD's for my son for Xmas and was actually very surprised by the sound quality. I honestly think they sound better than my Sennheiser's (which I paid $220 for).
On top of it, I only paid $130 for his (on sale).
I am not normally an advocate for overpriced stuff, but when looking for headphones I didn't rule out anything.
I went to a few electronics places that sell headphones and had them available for listening. I have actually compared Sennheiser, Skullcandy, Bose and Beats. I have also used Vmoda (which fell apart) as well as many other types for Bluetooth and wired in-ear from Sony, Panasonic and so on.
All that said, the Beats Pro had the best sound in my opinion, however @400 dollars they are cost prohibitive. Then come the Bose, which sound well enough, but by comparison seem kind of flimsily constructed. The Sennheiser are a little better built, but the sound leaves a little to be desired (when comparing the different headphones head-to-head). The Skullcandy are good disposable headphones. The Panasonic "Marshmallows" if you can find them are a solid in-ear with marshmallow squishy ear pieces like most of the isolating disposable earplugs, which isolate sound very well.
I hate to give the Beats the credit, but the really do sound better, so I went out on my local Craigslist and found a lightly used pair for $200. This is definitely worth the money. If your not sure which to pick, then head to a local Best Buy, FYE, or other music store that sells headphones, you can actually try out some of the more popular models. What sounds good to one person, may not sound as nice to another person because the music type plays a huge role in selection.
I strongly suggest Panasonic "Marshmallows" for a great headphone under $20. I found out my local Big Lots was selling them for $10. I bought a pair for my siblings, and backup for me over the holidays.
The buds have plenty of bass, and because they effectively suppress the outside noise you don't need to turn up volume as loud. They are great workout phones. They don't come out easily, and they really block out all the annoyances that come with every gym.
Just wanted to say that I bought this external bluetooth speaker, in search of a good one. I've tried several and this one is damn good for the price. For just less then $80 you can't go wrong. It really makes you wonder why the Jambox is over $150. It is a joke really.

I have a Logitech Mini Boombox, which costs about the same, but is much better looking.
Can't really compare the sound quality of course, as I don't have the Monster, but the Logitech is very good.

I have 2 monster ClarityHD bluetooth speakers. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a bluetooth speaker. I've owned a jambox too I returned it cause it was too quite. The monster is louder than the jambox after a firmware update to the jambox, you can disable the feature of the new update but you sacrafice quality for loudness.
Amazon has the ClarityHD for $49.99 right now. Very tempted to get one.

I use a cy-fi. The company went under a while ago due to retail price i would expect but it is tough, loud, clear, and works well with all of my bluetooth capable devices.

I use the iHome iDM12 bluetooth portable. It just fits in my pocket while I'm at work. (I have loose pockets, wouldn't work in jeans). Its got exceptional sound for such a small package. Sure they pander to Apple but it works fine on Android and its only $69. I've never had the battery go dead on me yet so I don't know how long it lasts. I play about 5 hours steady and charge it nightly most of the time. Even the couple of times I forgot to charge it, it lasted through the next shift just fine.

I don't know where the audio lags comes from or what causes it. Some times I'll get audio lag too, then other times it will be just perfect. I wish I knew what causes it. If anything I would suggest it is the Prime tablet not being able to process efficiently or something. Hard to tell.

I have the Satechi pocket version ($30 2 watts with 3.5 mm audio jack). I like it a lot but am looking for more power and richer sound. This BT version looks like it could fill the bill. How many watts?
Also the Kinivo BTX110 Wireless Bluetooth Mini Portable Speaker likes like a knock-off of the Satechi BT. Has anybody trtied this one and how does it compare?
I understand that the Asus TFP has the Wolfson Class W headphone amplifier but some kernals do not yet support it. The Samsung Fascinate also has Wolson Class W and I have the Voodoo Sound Plus app on both my rooted Samsing and my rooted Asus TFP. My rooted Samsung has a kernel with the required driver supporting the extended sound controls but my Asus TFP does not. Voodoo Sound Plus makes a big difference in sound quality between my Fascinate and Asus TFP. It's all about the kernal having the required drivers.

I completely agree with you on the Bose sound link. I picked one up over spring break at the beach and I love it. Yes it is expensive but you can't beat Bose at sound quality. The best part is i can pair my transformer and my phone and my laptop all very quickly.
The thing that surprised me the most about it was the base response. I am astonished as to the deep rich sound that it produces from such a small package.
Another point of interest is the folding cover / stand. It acts like the smart cover on the iPad. When you close it the speaker automatically turns off.
There is also a line in jack for any device you have that may not be Bluetooth capable as well.
I've found the battery life to be somewhere around 12 hours for standard use. This tapers off the louder you like your music of course.
Best of all I managed to get a refurbished one that was a wopping $75 cheaper.
What I use for a bluetooth speaker is a Sony HWS-BTA2W bluetooth receiver/transmitter, with standard powered speakers plugged into it. The Sony can be used as either a transmitter or a receiver, depending on what devices you have. I usually use it as a receiver, paired to my Prime, or phone, or even my laptop with a Jabra bluetooth transmitter connected to the headphone jack, and just plug standard powered speakers into it. I get good stereo, good sound, and the Sony isn't expensive. If you shop around, you can get one for ~$50, and you probably have some powered speakers on hand anyway.
There is always a delay with bluetooth. I had the bright idea to use bluetooth as a connection between my guitar and my amp, so I could connect wirelessly, and not have the cord to mess with. It's unusable, since there is a pronounced delay between the time you pluck the string and the sound coming out of the amp. The delay is almost a second, and it makes playing too much of a problem to deal with. I see the delay sometimes when I'm connected to the Sony with my phone or my Prime. They play a short sound when an email arrives, and it comes both through the internal speaker and through the bluetooth connection. The sound from the internal speaker is heard almost a second before the same sound comes from the speakers connected to the bluetooth connection.
Since there have been reports of issues with wi-fi in combination with bluetooth I'm wondering if you guys are experiencing problems using the bluethooth speaker while using wi-fi??

Why not just use a 3.5 mm aux wire for music and leave the usb for charging in the car? Problem solved. Although, you would have to change tracks on the phone instead of the car's head unit. There are requests to google since a year ago, we might see it in Jellybean.

Besides a DIY project, may try the MHL-microHDMI link to and audio input. Most manufacturers don't seem interested in making anything but apple's 30pin audio components. My Pioneer Dual Din Bluetooth Car Stereo has a USB out the works with Note. Have to use the phone to control it though.

I love my Note, but I keep an old ipod permanently connected in my car just for music. And I have my old iphone 3G, which is only worth $50 at best, is attached to my hi-fi system at home.
Who says you have to do everything with one device? If the Note doesn't do what you want, keep your note and buy something else to do the other job. Just my $0.02.

I love audio way more than anyone I know and I stream blue tooth audio from my phone.. Is it the best sound? No but it gets the job done. If you want high end you need to right equipment. Sadly the Galaxy note doesn't currently have the ability to do this.

Not really correct. Using the original BT compression algorithm, SBC, you get the equivalent of a high-bitrate MP3 - a maximum of 768kbit/s shared between channels and overhead so probably closer to a 256 MP3. There is a newer compression algorithm apt-X which provides lower latency and even higher quality at 384kbit/s. Overhead isn't included in that bitrate so that is the actual throughput on the audio channels. Not lossless (if that is your definition of "HiFi"), but you would have to do a side-by-side comparison to nitpick out the very minor differences.
The 3.5 mm is not an option because it cannot be a line out.

Incorrect. The voltage levels between the mini plug and line out are compatible. Keep the volume down a bit to keep the voltage down and you are fine.

I will confirm this works for my Pioneer and Jensen HU's in my vehicles, as well as my XBOX360. Only downfall is you have to use your audio device to choose your tracks. It gets the job done.
Sounds like OP needs a custom Bose system for his car, and a Galaxy iNote.

It may have been a bit of an understatement, but considering that windows is something like 62 million lines of code, a simple driver for enabling usb audio when we already have USB host 2.0 wouldn't be very much in comparison, when it should have been implemented in the first place..
Honestly, if anyone gets full linux to ever work on the note, I'm going to use that and never look back if USB audio works with it, and has s-pen support to control the mouse. I'm pretty sure that would happen LONG before android ever gets universal usb audio.

I actually thought that bluetooth audio had less bitrate, but I want the capability for lossless audio streaming from my home network using FLAC files, and the ability to watch blu ray stored on my pc over LTE would be badass as well, without audio comprimise.
Integrating TOSLINK hidden inside our headphone jack isn't has hard as you think. Many RCA and 3.5mm connectors have toslink hidden inside them from laptops and other devices, my sound card has it in the RCA SPDIF out. All they would need to do is make a proprietary android plastic mold adapter which being slightly different shaped than a headphone jack, would activate the TOSLINK switch inside the headphone jack and allow it to be on only by plugging the proprietary adapter inside, saving battery. TOSLINK can't be affected by EMF interuption. If this started happening, many things in the mobile market would change. Apple would lose hundreds of thousands of customers from the audio quality standpoint alone, more audiophiles would emerge from everywhere. Speaker development would increase exponentially. Hifi iPod docks would include TOSLINK. High end headphones would start coming with portable amps with Line Out, TOSLINK, and other options. It would be the easiest way to connect to a home theater system for high end audio. more people would be making their desktops a home server with all the audio stored on it able to stream over LTE. More people would be interested in FLAC and better bitrates. OTher companies would be profiting, driving BOSE into the ground. Companies like JMLAB, Legacy, Theil, Velodyne, Celestian, PSB, Focal, and many other high end companies who deserve more market.
I think it's a little stupid that on a device with a screen as nice as ours, we have little to no audio options available, when audio should have been the first concern in order to manipulate the market. Almost nobody who owns our phone even realizes just how good the display actually is. The black levels on our screen surpass almost any TV ever made, even if the colors aren't perfect. For example, I have a 55 inch 720p Sony Rear projection triple LCD panel tv with less pixels then my phone screen. The black levels on the phone DESTROY my tv, even if the colors aren't near as good on the phone, for cinema, it looks way better a foot from my face than optimal viewing distance with the HDTV. and, the colors on the HDTV surpass that of ANY "LED" tv you will see scamming the market today. They are LED backlit garbage twisted nematic LCD panels with terrible color accuracy.The sony has almost as good colors as my $700 Gateway FPD2485W professional S-IPS photo editing monitor actually, but still not quite. despite this, the phone still looks way better because of the black levels and sharpness, brightness and overall quality of the screen. I think Samsung solved the color problems with SuperAMOLED Plus with a different sub pixel layout amongst other improvemnts

Do not ever plague my posts saying insinuating that I'm a BOSE or Apple fanboy. I am a fanboy of nothing, besides maybe the Dodge Viper. My car sound system might've only cost me $350, from amazing creigslist deals, but it'd run me over $1200 everything brand new with a shop install. I might only have cheap polk 5.25" paper cone door speakers with only 45 watts RMS but they have 93db efficiency which is outstanding for the size, and swivel mount silk domes for clarity. my Alpine 6x9 in the back also have silk domes, and my Alpine 12" kevlar reinforced pulp cone subs might only be 400 watts RMS,but they sound damn clean for the price I stole them for off creigslist, and the custom box they're in is well enough built that even being a vented dual 12" box, if you physically tap on one woofer, the other moves like a well built passive radiator. The component speakers are driven from an MB Quart RA4200 100x4 RMS 0.5% THD amp, which is when rockford fosgate owned MB Quart, and had some quality stuff.
Then again, my home system is better, and while I only have a surround sound system comprised of my HTPC using analogue out from my Auzentech X-FI Home Theater HD, which is one of the best cards ever made for it's purpose, a few 5" Kevlar woofer, Class AB active 1" Silk dome M-Audio BX5a studio monitors, they definitely have clarity. but, my Velodyne ULD 18 is what brings my theater together. You may not understand this, or understand why, but an 18 inch woofer producing [email protected] 20Hz with 0.5% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) with under a QUARTER INCH of excursion, using a standard tar reinforced pulp cone woofer, with a servo attached to it to achieve this, is no easy feat considering the sub was made before I was born, in 1989. It was the first subwoofer ever to get a class A stereophile review. not only that, but it's flat down to 14Hz and will still push over 120db @ 20Hz with well under 3% THD. This is impressive for using only a 400 watt Class B servo amplifier. The bass quality of my theater makes my car sub which people seem to think is amazing hearing it sound like complete garbage. it makes my sudio monitors look like garbage, and anything bose has ever made sound like garbage, and it's the only piece of audio equipment I will claim to be true quality, everything else, I consider mediocre, because I can't afford a $4,000 pair of ATC bookshelves, or a $30,000 pair of JMLAB Utoptias..
But for the price I paid, I got decent enough quality, and my headphones I use (Sennheiser CX6 for fidelity, Vmoda Crossfade LP for soundstage and bass/electronic music), you can't ever tell me BOSE is quality. Maybe the BOSE 301's are good, I don't know for sure, haven't head them, but everything BOSE Iv'e ever heard was garbage for the money, and I had the tri port headphones, I had the quiet comfort 3's both as a gift. I'd never pay for anything bose has ever currently made, but who knows, Ford finally made something awesome with the new mustangs, I could change my mind eventually.
Point is, I mostly know what I'm doing with audio. As an Audiophile, I can say for a fact, Apple has a lot of loyal customers because of the audio options, Iv'e had 3 Iphones, the original as a hand me down which was broken (I'm extremely grateful for that because of the grandfather clause), the Iphone 4 as a gift before I ever cared about having a nice phone, and the 4S I traded my atrix for and couldn't stand using it once I knew what I was missing, despite the ease it was connecting to my head unit. The lack of navigation really pissed me off, the interface and texting pissed me off, the tiny screen pissed me off. I ended up deciding to sell the iphone and ipad to get this Galaxy note, which was worth it in every aspect except the terrible audio options available and the fact Samsung ripped us off on ICS release.

Just got a set of them, granted the price $159 was a little steep. I just didn't want wires, and working out with the Note 3 its a little tough. I was looking on amazon and best buy, but needed to go to target for some house stuff and walked by and saw them for 159 instead of 199 everywhere else. I guess its a 3 day sale according to the clerk that rang me up. The website says 199, but they are on sale in the store. Ill take a pic of the receipt later today...

Beats Audio - for those more concerned with image than quality.
Bad choice. Sorry to sound harsh but, basically, you have paid a 40% premium for a brand name, and not a particularly good one at that. You could have gotten a far better wireless solution for less money, and they would have had a frequency response that didn't involve the mid and upper ranges being overpowered and ruined by ludicrous levels of bass like all Beats Audio headphones and buds. Just one example are JBL J46BTs which you could have gotten for near half the price. There are others.
Yeah they are over priced but so are many things we buy. How do you like them? I bought some wireless Jaybirds Bluebuds X locally for $55 and i love them but i like the design of the Beats better.

Yea, I like them they sound great. Granted the price is higher than most they are the only ones that fit my ears correctly and comfortably. I hate having earphones fall out when i am running or zipping while mountain biking. Sure Beats is expensive, they sound good, feel great.
I tried theses - JBL Synchros Reflect BT In-Ear Bluetooth Headphones with Mic - Black (JBLREFLECTBTBLK) they are $100 dollars, they would pull out because they don't wrap around the ears. I also tried I tried Bose's SIE2i headphones, but the volume was far too low. They are great headphones but wanted something wireless.
Comfort - I wore these for 4 hours straight doing yardwork today. My ears didn't ache or felt uncomfortable.
Bluetooth - connects instantly, long range is great approx 30-45 feet outside, and have not experienced any skips or connection interruptions yet.
Mic - Great for calls can hear the other party on the line, and they can hear me great.
Price - $159, But in my opinion, they're worth it.
Its like anything, as a Mechanic I buy SNAP-ON, why because they are top tier when it comes to tools. Smooth and allow the ratchets to move in a few degrees to get what you need done. We all buy Brands that we like. Whether its clothing or what not. 200 dollars is steep, but 159 I needed to try them to make sure they fit and got the Job Done.
take care of them they brake way too fast agree with the other guys you could got a better deal you could bought some lg tone which last you 10h+ straight for a cheaper price also
Comparing Snap-On tools to Beats is disingenuous. Snap-On are worth the premium you're expected to pay, Beats are not.
Looking online here in the UK at least, the Beats retail for around £160 and the JBLs for around £70. You also have the Jabra Rox which can be picked up for around £90. Both of which have better sound quality than the Beats offering.

Not sure how the beats sound but I just got a pair of jaybird freedoms for $30. They sound great. I've tried a few bluetooth headsets and they are the best I've used. The only issue I have is I have to put a tie in the cord that connects the earpieces otherwise it hangs on my neck and sticks while I jog. Other then that they are great especially at $30.

I got these for $14 on Amazon lightning, but they are worth $25. The first pair went back under warranty repair.
Overall, they are great. Battery life is awesome, and they are, in fact, waterproof! ( The second pair I got I inadvertently left outside in the rain for 24 hours once and they still work fine)

jbl with note 3
Hi guys,i i have my new bluetooth speaker jbl 3 and i have a problem when i connect it with my note 3.when i play music from my library,everything is ok.if i turn on the wi fi (to play music by live radios or you tube)it disconnect!after 1-2 minutes connects again for a while and after that disconnect again.has anybody problem like this with his note?
Just got me a pair of the PowerBeats 2 wireless at Best Buy for $99. Not sure how long the sale is going to be. I don't understand why people give it so much flak. The market is there to give choices to the customer. Animosity towards those that purchase Beats is like someone being upset someone bought Nike Jordans or UA Currys for basketball shoes over another more affordable brand.
I have the Bluebuds X that I purchased last year and Bluebuds X2 that I purchased when they came out. For what they are marketed for, they are by far the best. The market isn't for audiophiles. It's for people that need them for an active lifestyle. I can't speak for everyone else but they work great for the upbeat music I listen to when I work out.
The fit when compared to my Bluebuds X & X2 is much better. I can wear them without them falling out during a sweaty cardio session and they don't irritate my ears like the wings on the Bluebuds do.
Sound quality wise I think everything in the $100 - 200 price range for the most part sound the same in regards to bluetooth headsets (please read https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/bluetooth-basics to understand the limitations of bluetooth headphone technologies). The differences are subtle enough that if you aren't actively trying to critique them, it sounds the same. Also keep in mind the source file quality. Let's just be honest, many people utilize one or another type of streaming service. The free ones are typically music compressed down to anywhere between 64-128 kbps for free streaming, and caps out at 320 kbps for paid services. I highly doubt anyone has a lossless 1411 kbps audio collection on their phone/ipod/etc. Unless you have a lossless audio collection, the differences in sound quality for BT headphones in this price range are for the most part negligible. What's noticeable are the preconfigured EQ settings of the headset. (I.E beats products tend to be a "U" with a focus on bass and treble, Bluebuds for the most part are flat with slightly more emphasis on mids).
For specific comparison, the Bluebuds when comparing to the Powerbeats 2, the Beats have much clearer bass response, mids and highs are comparable. Overall, I prefer the listening experience with the Powerbeats because with my Bluebuds there are times when the music sounds artificially filtered.
Bluebuds have a much better sound isolation, whereas the Powerbeats are designed to allow some ambient noise so that if you have them in while running/gym/exercising you'll still be aware of your environment.
