please answer my stupid question quickly - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I get my battery icon to look like this? (I am on an i9300).
Believe it or not, if you're fairly new to Android, it's hard to google this one.

A number of ways with customs roms or simple bar icons changing apps that's called circle mod icon u need root to be able to do these things

So you believe the phone in the picture (taken from Mobilesyrup's review) was rooted?
Anyways, thanks for answering my question.

I have "battery solo widget" it's in the market and u don't have to be rooted....it shows up jus like the one in the top right of your image BUT it actually shows up as like a app icon that u can put anywhere jus not at top right of notification bar...I have mine on my home page...click n it and it will also tell u the temp of your phone ...maybe not exactly what ya want but better than nothing

Thanks. I have seen apps just like this. Although I was really looking status bar icon without rooting.
Anyways, I just rooted now and will find the circle icon app/widget etc..

I have this widget, and it is FREE...No need to root to use it. =) Its called Battery Circle Widget, and as I mentioned it is FREE in the Play Store...enjoy!

Exactly. I don't want to wade through my sea of icons to find my battery life. I also don't want to have a graphical battery icon and a percentage taking up two spots....
Pictures like that of the mobilesyrup review seem to show a newly released device that's [most likely] not rooted. Does the LTE SGS3 have some different ROM on it with that battery icon included?

You need to be rooted. I take pride in saying that my phone is rooted.
You don't own a gs3 if you are not rooted.

Yes, you do.
Battery percentage and custom battery icon are not the same thing.

I find this interesting too actually because the three times ive shown my phone to other (regular non modder) gs3 users since i got it the first thing they said was "how did you get that battery icon?"

if u are rooted, flash omega 7.0 rom. The battery is there by default. And its a amazing rom also.

This thread has turned into something of a battle hahaha...
I rooted with cf-root in the sticky in the dev forum and I installed "XXALF2-ODEX-BatMod-v2.zip" from here.

Battery percentage mod

Without having to flash a whole theme.. anyway to just get battery percentage mod on CM7?
I use "battery notifier" its only 55kb in size and requires no permissions, it gives u a little battery icon in notifications and u have the option to place the percent on that little icon I dont think you will be able to mod the actual icon or do much to to the status bar without a flash

Second theme down
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945548
I already removed the 'theme manager' and all that business. There really isn't any flashable zip like the bar battery floating around? I have it set to always show on my lock screen, but locking and unlocking to see my battery percentage is getting old.... :-/
I figured it would be included in cmparts, but it wasn't. Was there a reason for that?

Really? That's very interesting...it's such a simple improvement. Who wouldn't want to know their battery percentage over just a shaded battery icon? It's practically useless. I can't tell the difference between 50 percent and 30 percent...it looks the same! lol

I'm with you there. I'm not much of a 'theme' guy. If I want something changed, I'll change it..but I'm not one to change everything just so I can have the battery percentage. I had it on the stock mysense rom, so I'll just wait for it to show up in cm7. ....sigh.....one can only hope....

[Q] [REQUEST]Can Someone Port the Smooth Sense Battery % Icon?

Can someone port the Smooth Sense Battery % Icon with the white battery text to the Tbolt??
Gotta get root first. Then a working clockwork recovery will come next before you'll see any mods. Its coming though. Thankfully this phone has a huge developers base.
Sent from my Droid using XDA Premium App
I was looking for the same. Since we are waiting on root/recovery, I used BatteryTime lite. Puts a little battery percentage in the status bar.
Got Root now let's see the Smooth Sense Icons!
anyone? bueller?
can you link me to the battery you're talking about?
I'm looking at the framework for the basic debloaded ROM and it doesn't have the 137ish images for the battery icon, it's back to only having 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%, so I don't know how the smooth battery mods would work.
the circle battery works just fine, it definitely has all the required pictures...

I know that this battery is in "The Perfect Storm" rom. I'd ask the dev if he can export just those files as a .zip

[Q] Circle Battery

Does anyone know if its possible to get the circle battery mod (circle with percentage in the notification bar) on our GSIIs? Already missing that from my Captivate.
I'm not sure on the mod, I was hoping for the same kind of thing coming from my rooted captivate. However, if you download an app on the marketplace called "Battery Solo Widget," it allows you to have a widget on your desktop showing what you are looking for. That's what I'm using for now.

It's possible. You just need root and you can change it yourself (by modifying the framework-res apk and replacing the existing one with root explorer, or the like) if you have the icons (or with UOT - you'll need CWM for this method obviously).

1% battery mod

I did some Googling and searched the thread but i didn't find anything.
Is there a mod for 1% battery increments for the stock rooted 2.3.4 x2?
I've found them for other phones and built into rom's but what about stock rooted?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
1) wrong section
2) check out UOT Kitchen. You can customize your own battery symbol how ever you want. And its flushable, just have to upload systemui and framework-res.
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
i have rom toolbox so yes i already can change the battery icon....thats not what i am looking for...i want it to read in 1% increments...stock doesn't....i cant update the icon that is capable of doing that but it'll still just update in the stock increments
This post prolly get moved to Q&A...but anyways the 1%mod is a series of edits somewhere in the framework I believe.
I thought I had seen a flashable version a long while ago but can't find it. It gonna take some digging around to find....good luck
Use UOT Kitchen to make a mod, its easy and customizable.
I could make you one if you want.

That's a good idea the only thing is u need to be on home screen to see the 1% increments.
Other than that...good idea
Ya thanks for the idea I just want it built into the status bar like all the rom's. I can't believe there isn't something available already to flash to get this...oh well I'm a dev will eventually do it

True but I'd rather have that not running in the background and don't need additional icon in the bar.....thanks though....I want the current battery icon to just read 1% increments and then I can update the icon with rom toolbox.

I PM'd you a solution.
ok, I'm still an android noob, but I believe the functionality is already there, its not like my prior TP2 that required special drivers.
Hence I think you really could just use UOT to change the existing icon on the bar to the needle gauge type with numbers?
somebody correct me if I'm wrong?

You can use UOT Kitchen to mod everything but status bar and boot animation.
You just have ROM use the right systemui and framework-res apks, otherwise you'll get fcs operantly.

From this thread I got an idea: It would be great to have a stylish widget that shows your down/up traffic. There are dozens of clock/weather/news widgets but if there is one for bandwidth just let me know.
or you could try this app http://goo.gl/3Pbzq
Network Speed you need to scroll down the notifications though

I have tried all, Network meter proves to be the most relevant to what i was looking for .. yet, it's missing basic stuff like multiple options for traffic measure units (Mbits/Kbits/ .. etc) and then the floating bar to be available in the status bar.
Network Monitor Mini.
Light, accurate and free. Keeps the upload and download status on your screen, not the notification bar, so it works in full screen games and apps.

If you have root access to your device then you can use Xposed Mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
this will give your device various mods lie network meter in statusbar, transparent statusbar and navigation bar and many more..
Old thread but ...
I have been using network monitor mini pro for a long time
but if you want an app that really stick to status bar network speed indicator xposed module is much better.
