My Story Play Store Update - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I usually check the market when I wake up to see if there is a new app. Sure enough, the My Story app had an official update. The version I was running before was the one that froze if you tried to get the update from within the app. I haven't played with the update yet, so I don't know the specifics. Enjoy.

Okay it works, and no more update notification nagging! I am on UCLE2 if it matters.

could you post the v2.0 update? its showing my phone is not compatible for some reason...

New Android Market APK?

So i have been googling like a mad man and apparently can't find the apk to the new market with the Music tab and new features.
Is it still too new to have been uploaded yet?
Does anyone know where its available?

What's the build number

I would appreciate an upload of the newest apk as well. Don't know the build number but I'm pretty sure the OP is looking for the apk with the new music section built in (as am I)! Google should be pushing it out to all phones automatically starting from a bit ago up until possibly a few days from now so some of us are antsy and don't like the wait
edit:
Sorry for the repeat I just noticed that the first poster already stated he wants the version with the music tab, my bad!
I don't think google pushed the market apk yet

Haha maybe, I saw some reports online from people but maybe they're just being jerks
You could be right. Someone did mention that on another thread

Here's a better question, what happened to the App "old market"?
I don't need it now (freezing the market updater with TiBu), but I will need it down the road whenever ICS comes out for this or other phones...

Well im running the new market. Updated itself. Im running a stock rom for now though. So could be that. Was 3.0.8 before and i reckon it is 3.11.1 (without looking)

i came here looking too. mine has not updated. on aura
i had it on stock, flashed to a number of custom roms, (cm7, alien and homebase) none of them had the newer one.
there isn't much of a difference despite the app font being smaller. few speed tweaks maybe?!?!
I have it, I will upload it to this thread in a couple of hours

So a few moments ago I just got the new market update. In order to get the new market I had to do a few other steps. I don't know if it will work for you, but it seemed "timely".
I noticed that Google Music had an update so I tried to install it but I got some kind of error. I was running the last leaked version (4.0.1).
1. I opened Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Music and cleared out data and uninstalled it.
2. I then opened up the Market and installed the newest Google Music (4.0.9) and set that up.
3. I then re-opened the Market and noticed that some of my applications had broken market links. Some were reported as not being installed, yet they were.
4. I then re-opened Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market and cleared out data then uninstalled updates.
5. I waited a few minutes then reopened the Market and accepted the TOS and there it was, the new Market (3.3.11) with the new Music tile and all.
Maybe this will work for others. Can't hurt to try.
I downloaded and installed 3.3.11 from a thread here in the "themes and apps" section a couple of weeks ago. Hardly new ... link

This worked for me. Thanks!
mine updated automatically overnight.
I've been on 3.3.11 since the day it was leaked. Last night it updated automatically to include the music tab after doing a search and purchasing an album.

Safe to Update Netflix App?

This was discussed a while back but I don't think it was ever resolved: is it okay to update the netflix app on the nook tablet? The google play store keeps trying to give me an update, but I know that the netflix app on the NT is not the same as the standard netflix app available on the google store. I'm worried that I'll be trading the specialized NT for the stock one, which I don't wanna do.
Anyone updated? Have any thoughts to share?

I just installed CM7 and downloaded the most recent netflix app- works great.
Oh nvm I see what you're saying. I dont know if installing the google play version will replace your stock app, sorry.
The stock NT Netflix app is not the same one that is in the Goolge Play Store. It is optimzed for the NT hardware and has higher quality performance.
Yes, I know. Which is why I'm asking if I should update it. Because google play seems to think it needs to be updated, but I know that the Netflix app on the NT is not the same one you get in the play store. It's somewhat confusing and I'm hoping someone out there has some idea of how to proceed.
I am running Team-B CM7 and also running the Play store Netflix update 1.7.1
Everything running great here. If in doubt, backup the app with TiBu then go for it! I have had zero problems though.
When I had my tablet stock rooted with google play store it kept trying to update netflix, but never suceeded for long. I found the non Barnes and Noble Version looked worse then the B&N version. Not that it didn't run fine, it just didn't seem as smooth most of the time.

Ditto (both that I think the B&N version was better and that it CONSTANTLY thinks it needs to update). I update from the Google store and would like to go back to the B&N stock version. Anyone know where the stock version can be found?
---------- Post added at 03:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:49 PM ----------
Update: I just did a reboot and it seems like I am not back to the stock version. I say that because 1) the updated version allowed for volume to be changed via a slider bat in the upper right had corner while the stock version's volumne is changed with the buttons on the side and 2) I'd swear the video looks better (but it might just be this particular movie?) now that I seem to be running from the stock version.
I believe that applications that reside in /system/app cannot be updated and I think that's where Netflix resides. So possibly what happens when you try to update is that it is temporary and on next reboot it reverts back to the stock version since it is in /system/app?
Google Play, B&N App Store, and Amazon.com Android App Store will ping pong back and forth when they check installed apps and find one that they think you've gotten from them. Apparently they only check to see if the version number differs, not whether their posted version is more current. I've gotten to ensuring that I only download a given app from one source, and let that source keep it "current."
is there a download link for the b&n version anywhere? diddnt know there was a difference

Google Store update

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1648185
For those that didn't know it was out yet that haven't checked the apps threads...
However, the reason I'm posting is... For all of you, anyone have any clue why my device will not automatically update the store? I've always been forced to install it manually on my evo 3d CDMA. Even just upgraded to ICS and had to update since it was MANY MANY versions behind.
It usually takes a few days for your phone to automatically update the play store after an installable version has been made available, at least in my experience. The only time that this was different for me was when it went from the Android Market to the Play Store, that happened the day of. Probably because they wanted to get that out there ASAP.
the point is.... it doesn't automatically update it at all. I have to manually install it every time.
Well how long are you waiting for it to automatically update? I'd give it a week before I would consider anything wrong.

[Q]Play Store update notifications (dev console)

When I'm updating my published apps through the Play Store developer console, it doesn't send a notification to current users that there is an update available. Perhaps my procedure is not correct?
I'm uploading the new apk with version codes incremented. Then I activate the new apk and deactivate the previous apk. Then I unpublish and republish and it usually takes Play Store about an our to reflect the change. But I never receive an update notification, even though I have the app installed.
Advise please, thanks.
Sent from my JellyBlueX
Your question is missing some details so to me sounds vague. I use the Galaxy Nexus and notifications are not pushed out as soon as an update is available. I have not looked into the correct timeframe the play store on the phone will update, then push out those notifications, but there are plenty of times that I won't get a notification, then get them when I open the play store. So my question to you is, when you open the market, while your app is installed, does it say that its installed and an update is available?

Google Play Notifications Not Working?

Since flashing to UK Jelly Bean, I have not received any app updates in my notification.
When I go to Google Play they are just sitting there, waiting to be updated.
I can clear data and cache in the Application Manager, then go back into Google Play and the notification will work. But this is only a temporary fix.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this ?

had a similar problem and also include the audio when booting, there was none, what I did basically was to reinstall the fw over odin, and voila it worked
Different version of the S3, but I am having the same issue.. and I do not understand why. I am rooted, Stock rom (with a few tweaks of my own, mostly themed) I've never restored system apps/settings... I don't get it.
Installed the latest version from the Nexus 4 threads.. Guess I'll wait and see.
Having the same issue...I believe that Google play background process is being killed for some reason.

I checked if there were any updates via the web site and found a foursquare update.. No notification.
I only received a notification when I rebooted my device...
Side note: I only get xda forum app notifications after a reboot even though it's set to check every 30 minutes.
It is working.... but there is a long delay.
If I go into Google Play at night, and there is/are updates, the notification will not show until the next morning.
If I check in the morning, it will come up in the evening.
Google servers must be busy since Jelly Bean rollouts.
