(AT&T) Possible to make pages readjust?? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On my inspire when on any web page when I zoomed on the page to be able to read it would readjust to fit the screen. Making it so I didnt have to scroll left to right. Do u guys follow me?? Is there a setting in the gs3 to make it do this or am I stuck with pages that I have to constantly navigate?? Thanks for any help.

Tried Chrome??

No, haven't tried chrome. I like the stock browser....but I'll give chrome a try and see how smooth it is compared to stock.

Yes, give it a try its uber smooth.

I'm not sure if this is what you meant by readjust, but a cool feature that HTC had was as you zoomed in, the page was fitted again in the zoomed in screen and you didn't have to scroll left right up down to read the page. I have just installed chrome and once you zoom in, it doesn't readjust!

On the browser, menu > settings > advanced > auto-fit pages. Is that what you're referring to?

Let me try it. Possibly
Edit. That feature is ticked. When you load the page, the page is fit to screen, but when you zoom in, htc browser realigns the text so that it fits the screen again. On the s3 you have to go left to right in order to read a text

I would also like this. Is HTC browser bound by framework??

Tried chrome it doesn't refit screen either. Thanks for th e responses tho....maybe someone will figure it out soon it's annoying.

I get what you mean. On my Galaxy S1, the text would reflow when I double tapped the screen after zooming, and this was a really useful function. But it doesn't seem to be present on the S3. As far as I know, this is controlled by the rom and not the app itself, so we might not get it on the stock rom.

How to do text reflow in browser?

I can't seem to make this work, unless I rotate the screen from portrait to landscape and back again.
Can anyone tell me how to make it work after pinch zooming?
Thanks,
James
Doesnt seem to do it does it.... Very annoying. I like stock browser but looks like im moving to opera

dolphin browser hd
What about it?
double tap to the screen.
That zooms out, and reflows, but doesn't reflow to the size you make the text with pinch zoom.

Haven't had mine come through yet so I've not been able to test this but in the Techradar review they say:
"One gripe we do have is the text reflow, as it doesn't do it automatically – you have to double tap the screen slowly to activate it when pinching to zoom in."
Hope that helps

This was the arrogant comment. Of course I've tried first, why else would I be starting a thread on the issue?

did you checked autofit pages box under the the browser settings before trying to do that?
What did you mean then?
I've tried the auto fit pages button, but it didn't seem to have any effect

Confirmed, this does NOT work. Some oversight.
Like others have said, this does not reflow, it just zooms out to fit the text onto the screen...
this is a huge deal.
what about if you just load a regular page, zoomed out completely. then double tap somewhere, it should zoom in. does it reflow after a double tap in that fashion?
99% of my usage is just double tap on a place, and browser reflows teh text. i dont care about pinch to zoom reflow necessarily. any luck with double tap method?
Double tao appears to reflow correctly, but unfortunately that's not much good for many scenarios where I would like larger text
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Yep, as above. The Nexus S had this issue too but got round it with the + and - in the lower right corner. Text would be off the edge after pinch to zoom but tapping either the + or the - reflow it while maintaining the text size previously set. No such luck here though.
Guys my SGS1 had been lost for almost a month, but as far as I remember the stock browser would not reflow on "pinch to zoom", would only reflow on "double-tap to zoom", and only on certain pages that had clear resizeable DIV/TABLEs (html language)?

Have you tried to turn off the motion activation?
My old Palm Pre used to do the same thing if I didn't let it load the whole page...
Is it every page or just one?
Sir i dont see any particular browser setting labeled motion activation what setting is that and where please

If my cursor is still blinking in a text box ie. Search bar or login i cannot scroll without jumping back to the text input but if i click outside the box first i can scroll no problem
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
I used to see that with the original (2.3.4) stock ROM, but I haven't seen it yet since I switched to Unnamed. I'll give your fix a try if I see it again, it's very annoying!
It only ever happened to me on google search results.

Double tap to zoom in to read text on webpages

Hi,
On my old Xperia Arc, whenever I double tap, it zooms in closer and I can read everything perfectly without touching the scroll bars. I find that on the s3, when I double tap, it just zooms in closer but then i will need to use the scroll bars from side to side to see everything. I have tried going into advanced settings and ticked the option to make everything fit but it doesn't do the job. Any suggestions?
I am having this same annoying issue. Is there a fix for it or something as it seriously is starting to piss me off >.<

Google chrome

Hi guys
Anyone else having trouble with chrome? I noticed it came with the phone so gave it a go but it seems to be missing bits.
Evertime I startvit comes up with takeca tour as I cant seem to set a home page. Browsing works and I can set bookmarks ect but when I read the help section it says to use the menu button on the search tab....there isnt one lol only the new tab button and search. The pics in the help section and app page on the market show the top as blue too yet mine is gray. Am I missing something here????
can you take a screen grab?
Works like charm and the effects are awesome when switching between windows

Nope works like a charm.....however I did notice this issue at first but with a quick reboot it works all fine

Mine works fine, only thing I'm missing is the smoothness of samsungs browser.
When I scroll and zoom in/out in chrome it is responsive but seems to be skipping frames, while samsungs browser is really smooth.
One reason that I've stopped using it looks like it doesn't support Full Screen mode, is that so or just that I'm unable to find it in the settings? .

Browser zoom

Might be a stupid question...I come from a long line of moto droids. On all of them, if I double tap in the browser, not only would it zoom, but it would also realign the now larger text to fit the screen. Is there a way to do that on the Samsungs? I hate coming in a news article then have to swipe side to side to read all the words

These are not the Droids you are looking for
Is that a moto only thing? Or browser can't do that?

Are you running stock browser on 4.3 or a custom rom? There's dozens of browsers to try though, I'm sure one will meet your needs.
In running beans 22 rom. Stock browser. Over the years I've fiddled with nearly every browser it there and I've always found the stock the most comfortable. Maybe that's because the zoom always worked the way I wanted it to.

It's under settings>advanced in the stock browser. Check the box for auto fit pages
I last used the stock browser when I first bought the phone. Been using Dolphin browser ever since. When I double tap, it zooms in enough to fit the block of text that you double tapped on. It is useful in that it depends on where you tap it
