Trying to get back on the OTA path from XT912 - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi guys, I put the XT912 leak on my phone last week as I saw people saying it was the ota and turns out they were wrong. I have been searching for a few hours and can't find a way to get back on the OTA path. All the tools seem to be for a different version or something. Is there a way to get to the ota path? I want a bite of that tasty 4.0.4.

. 211 is the official leak. If you aren't on it then you can use unstickICS

So if I'm on .211 then everything is kosher in terms of updates and all that. Its the same leak and official ota? I'm just a little confused and would like to know for sure

The files are taken down everywhere I look. Is there a place to get them now?

Is this the official soak test? If not it's just old news.

The way the article reads makes it seem like it's the official soak test.

.211 is a relatively new build I thought. Hopefully this is the soak test.

I'm on it as well and didn't get a notice either. I believe it's random and just because you signed up doesn't guarantee you anything.

Of course though...
The first rule of SoakTest is you dont talk about SoakTest.

How in the world did you get that the soak test has started by reading that article? SMH!

Droid-Life changed the article from people getting it via the soak test, to it being a Cheesecake leak possibly going out to testers.

Question:
What has been stopping me from jumping on these leaks is the fact that I cannot, repeat cannot roll back to Gingerbread 2.3.6. Now, with all of this discussed, will I be able to roll back to GB off the OTA? I just dont like the feeling of jumping to an unofficial OTA and then being stuck there god forbid I ever wanted to jump to the actual thing.

I would say theres a damn good chance that the OTA will not allow a rollback since these devices were meant for ICS anyway.

Once you go ICS you never go back....

The first leak, .75, can be rolled back to gb, i have been using that since April and love it. I won't go to another leak until the official ota comes out.

Ok, first things first. ICS is coming down the pipe in a few days maybe a week or 2, depending on how the soak test goes. Why do you want to flash a GB OS mod when ICS will be here soon? If you flash to that I don't believe you'll get the OTA update.
Second, you'll want to have RSDLite installed on your machine with a safe, working copy of your stock rom. This can be found in about 50 places on these forums. The only catch is that when ICS rolls out, more than likely, you won't be able to go back to GB due to the boot loader being signed with a new version (all the posts you see about getting "unstuck" are speaking of that very problem).
I'll be more than happy to walk you through the process, but it just doesn't seem to be the wisest course of action with ICS so close.
Lemme know!

Isn't that rom ics? Its the .211 leak base correct me if I'm wrong.

It might be. I'm not terribly familiar with it. I would just wait. May take you off the update path or cause other problems. Just my opinion.

Well there's a method posted on that site that keeps full ota upgradeability. You use safe strap. I was gonna try that tonight.

OTA Update from Leaked ICS build...

So I'm on the leaked .84 build of ICS. If/when the OTA update comes next week, what will I have to do? Will it prompt me to update? Will I have to roll back to stock Gingerbread to get it (and if so, how do I do that)?
Sent from my DROID RAZR Maxx using XDA Premium
You'd have to return to completely stock. Fastboot back to .181.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA
You are off the upgrade path so you'll need to use one of the unstuck methods to move to the ota version. Or wait for fast boot files. You cannot just flash back to gb. That will soft brick your device.

Follow the instructions in that thread.

I don't know why you are still on 84 but once the ota drops you are going to have to use the same method we used to get off of 84 to get you flashed forward to the ota. Might as well flash 211 today to get familiar w it. You can't do anything else w 84 anyway,

Cruel ICS torture!

So I'm at work and the Droid RAZR on my demo phone bar pops up the notification for the ICS update.
I run the update and play for a few then get giddy thinking my Maxx should be good to go...
Run the update check and NOTHING. :-(
So now my stinking demo gets ICS but I can't. :-x
Lol that's messed up.
But you can get it
There's a copy of my guide in the RAZR development forums on how to manually update the OTA.
Lol demo phone be trollin
So I been getting the update notice on my Razr Maxx (see screenshot) Is this ICS? I am not a developer, I just cruise on the forum and mess with my phone. My maxx is rooted stock .173 No Bloat I haven't taken the update cause I am the no bloat setup might screw things up.

.181 is the newest GB version. So in short, no, it's not ICS.

Unroot, install update then you'll be ready ICS. If you want to just fast forward to ICS today you can use my guide posted in the development forums, posted by user streetmedic.
That is the update, remember moto names their updates as the old version of the OS so 181 is actually the 211 upgrade to ICS, if im somehow wrong then I really need clarification on the moto update stuff

[Q] XT912 OTA download needed

Every since I flashed the latest OTA update, my GPS will no longer lock on. It was suggested that I re-flash the OTA, but I want to re-download it, to make sure I have a good version. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the 4.1.2 OTA?
I believe i still have the leak version its blur version 6.something.zip. Is that what you're looking for?

I'm looking for the OTA that came out in May....I believe.
I just received a replacement Razr from Asurion because my gps would not work. As to stock, get matt's utility jb version to flash back to stock. It's available in the development folder on xda for the Razr. Hope this helps...
