[Q] 8773 update broken on 059N2L6 (Lumia 710 v803) - Nokia Lumia 800

Each time i install the 8773 update via NCS or via forcing Zune (using the disconnect trick) it bricks my phone and freezes on the Nokia boot up screen. I can recover by reverting back to 7740 via NCS.
Is the current 8773 update broken? Anybody else with an 803 (product code 059N2L6) having this problem?

Did you force both updates in Zune? The first one (8107) completed fine but when i forced again to move up to 8773 it completes but then hangs on the Nokia screen during Reboot.
I then went into NCS and recovered to 7740. Once back up and running I downloaded 8773 via NCS and flashed it and exactly the same thing happens.
Does anybody have any ideas what i'm doing wrong or do you think I have a bizarre fault with the hardware?

both yes, didnt have any issues.

Thanks, it must be my phone. Just tried on my laptop and same thing, freezing on Nokia screen.

[Q] Unable to update

Hey
I've got a problem updating my HTC Mozart.
It's a device from T Mobile Germany, which has the standard firmware.
In the Development-subforum there is a new firmware, 1.28.xxxx
My problem is that I can't update my HTC Mozart.
If I start the updater on the PC with the mobile connected, it quits after a timeout stating ERROR 260 - CONNECTION ERROR.
Is there anything I have to do or - better yet - a step-by-step instruction?
Do you have any idea, why it might fail?
//EDIT: I'm trying to flash from a Windows XP PC (32 bit) via USB.
And yes, I tried to use the bootloader, but it only displays SERIAL.
Could you please help me?

I didn't think that there were any actual updates available yet :S
Well there is a new version in the development subforum
It's an inofficial update, but that hasn't stopped me before...
In the meantime, I even managed to solve the problem:
Windows XP needs USB drivers in order to be able to use the RUU.
HTC's RUU doesn't provide any driver as it seems - and neither does Zune.
I had to install Active Sync (version 4.5 seems to be the latest) in order to get the driver - although the HTC Mozart can't be synced using Active Sync.
After that it was just going to the boot loader and starting RUU.

zune not connecting to mozart

I've windows 7 64bit and zune is not getting connected to my Mozart any more. I uninstall, reinstalled the zune and every time gets the message "cannot connect to phone, disconnect it restart it and then connect". I've restarted the phone many time.
Actually my phone is saying update available and connect your phone to Zune. Any other way to update my phone?
Ok, found a solution on the web that try connecting your phone from another profile on the computer. It worked and I've got the phone updated to 7008.
However, how to fix my own profile on that computer so I can sync my phone with my stuff?
Any suggestion to repair my computer profile so i can connect the Zune with my Mozart?

Unplug Mozart
Uninstall Zune
Unistall WinPhone 7 dev tools if u got em
Go regedit
Go to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\USB
Delete all Mozart related VID's
Run some reg cleaner to remove any other traces of zune
Reboot
Reinstall Zune
Plugin mozart
Winning.
Hi Sirstoner,
did this twice but nothing change.
However, if i logon to the same computer with different logon, it works.
Any body has any solution
Cannot sync my contents with Mozart as it does not connect via Zune.
cheers...
The same problem happened with me without any solution so installing new windows will be the solution
oops, you mean just because of Zune not connecting with Windows 7 phone, we need to reinstall the whole Windows 7 OS ?
bit confused here...
Need help !!!
have uninstalled / installed Zune 3 times, resetting phone to factory settings. When I connect my Mozart via USB cable the Zune SW starts but doesn't connect with the phone.
cheers...
Any body has any idea that if I replace my HTC Mozart then I 'll be able to connect it to Zune on my PC?
Hi All,
Seems like problem does not have any fix yet. I returned the phone to Orange UK (due to some other issues as well), got the replacement phone and it's working fine; connecting to ZUNE as well.
BUT, we should get some response from Microsoft as well that why this is still a bug?
cheers...
I have simliar problem here.
When my phone connected, my computer doesn't reganize anything
hey guys, sorry for bothering, I got my mozart yesterday, it will connect to internet automaticly, how to make it become manually?

[Q] HTC 7 Mozart T8698 not recognized by W7 device manager

May be one of the experts of XDA-developers can solve this strange problem.
I bought a HTC 7 Mozart with T-Mobile branding in Germany, used it with another SIM card. I have a Windows 7 (32 bit) computer where Zune is installed. The connection with Zune was workding fine.
Then I flashed my phone with the 'Official HTC Europe 1.30.401.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50 ROM'. The phone is working fine, but it does not get recognized by the Windows device manager & Zune. So I carried out the following steps:
- formatted & reinstalled Windows 7
- installed Zune
- carried out ALL Updates in Windows & Zune till date
- flashed Mozart again, carried out hard reset
I guess, there's nothing more that one can do to start afresh. But still my computer & zune continue to refuse to recognize my HTC 7 Mozart (see attached screenshots).
This is what is displayed on my mobile right now:
Name: HTC 7 Mozart T8698
OS version: 7.0.7389.0
Firmware version: 2250.09.13001.401
Does anyone have the slightest clue, what went wrong? Is the ROM corrupted? Is some important element missing in the ROM? Is it possible to get a seperate driver file for Mozart (Zune.inf has proved useless so far)?
Thanks in advance
P.S.: In the meantime I tried the following:
- I flashed the phone again with an older ROM (RUU_Mozart_HTC_Europe_1.26.401.03_5.51.09.06_22.3 0.50_RELEASE). But the computer still cannot recognize Mozart.
- I also tried to use the WPSupportTool both under the old & the new ROM. Mozart WAS RECOGNIZED(!) in the USB connection mode in both the cases. The driver was loaded. Even Zune recognized it and popped up. The entry 'PD67199' could be seen in the Device manager. The tool itself could not do its updating job in both cases. Even after a restart the phone remained unrecognized in both cases.
update zune?
Thanks for your reply.
Well, as I have already mentioned I have already updated Zune. Zune & Windows are up to date. I forgot to mention that I had switched off the firewall as well just in case it was blocking the connection.
Is the windows mobile device update installed in installed programs?
Sent from my CorvusVegaRom_0.5 using Tapatalk
Still no progress
As my windows mobile device (Mozart) was not recognized at all, there is obviously no update installed in installed programs as well. In case you mean the Windows Mobile Device Center it seems to be up to date (Version 6.1.6965).
As I mentioned in my post, I tried to use the Windows Phone Support Tool as well. I have now attached the screenshots. As you can see while looking for the driver the computer recognizes the device to be 'Windows Mobile' and after recognizing it is listed as 'PD67100'. The Tool itself failed to update anything. Zune kind of recognized the phone but as the phone was not in a normal mode.
I still hope that someone out there is competent enough to identify the problem based on my detailed report and all the screenshots.
Still having an issue with this?
You definetely do not need the Windows Mobile Device Center.
Can you give it a shot after you uninstalled your wifi modems drivers?
Still no progress
Thanks for all the suggestions, but my situation is so hopeless that not even Microsoft or other 'experts' could help.
- I tried everything all over again with a brand new HTC data cable
- I tried uninstalling the wifi driver
But nothing works. I wish someone could just send me the 'top secret' driver file of Mozart. 'Zune.inf' has not helped so far. Or does someone have a 'magic' Zune.inf file? ;-)
Sorry i gave up 32-bit windows back in 2004 .
Can you go back to the original carriers ROM and give it another go?
solution ALMOST found
Well, after weeks of research & trial with different ROMs I think I have narrowed down the possibilities.
The problem seems to be the Zune/Windows LIVE account. Once you have used a device with Zune, it remains listed with both Zune & Windows LIVE account (check: setting > account > computers & devices as well as in devices.live.com).
Now one can add/delete upto 5 NEW devices every 30 days to the Zune account. In my case I already had 'HTC Mozart T8698' listed in Zune. If I had renamed the device BEFORE flashing the problem probably could have been avoided. After the update/flashing it is not being recognized at all probably because the name remains the same. But according to my Zune I can use a 'NEW' telephone on 25.05.2011. (See screenshot)
Now I have clicked the REMOVE button several times, but the device is not yet removed from the list. So I am not sure whether this means it will be removed only on 23.05.2011. In case I manage to remove it I will try out the connection on that date.
Does anybody have any idea on how to remove my device now? Or any other tricks to solve the problem?

Hi,
I suppose that you flashed European ROM with cable way, no?

Europe ROM
Dear Ansar,
It's wonderful to finally hear from YOU. Now I feel a solution can be found.
Yes, I did flash the European version provided by you (OS version 7.0.7389.0, Firmware: 2250.09.13001.401). Earlier I had the T-Mobile-Germany original ROM and had no problem connecting to computer & Zune.
In the meantime I tried out many other ROMs also provided by you but the device is not getting recognized by either Windows or Zune. My Zune account (setting) is showing my device from the earlier usage (HTC 7 Mozart T8698) so I guess that might be causing some conflict - as the device name remains same even after flashing.
I hope you can come up with some tricks to solve the problem. Thanks again for personally looking into the matter.

Hi,
If it was not recognized by windows then no new ROM flash will be performed
Can you try to connect to any available usb hub in your pc and see if zune can see it?

Hi Ansar,
Thanks for the quick reply. Well, I also tried out all the USB ports (Laptop: 3, Desktop: 6). Now I just tried out an external USB hub after seeing your message. But unfortunately that did not work as well.
I didn't quite understand what you mean by ...then no new ROM flash will be performed. Should I stop trying out any other ROM?
Regards
Hans

Hi,
Your phone is recognized by windows drivers and you can flash ROMs using ROMUpdateUtility (not goldcard)
I thing you should flash again one of TMO_DE 1.23.111.01 or 1.25.111.02 or 1.28.111.03 ROMs
If so let me know the results before trying anything else
Regards, ansar
Hi Ansar,
Thanks again for your efforts. Just now I flashed TMO-DE 1.28.111.03 ROM, unistalled & reinstalled Zune (ran TuneUp utilities to clean registry in between). I logged in to Windows LIVE both in Zune & Phone.
Unfortunately the results are the same - i.e. the phone is still not recognized by the computer & Zune. Could you please send me the links to the other 2 ROM versions so that I can try out these as well?
Thanks & regards
Hans

Hi,
Since the pro is there after flashing the ROM, no other ROM can fix it
You should check with another phone of a friend of yours in your PC or check your phone in your friend PC
I think that the pro is probably in your PC operating system drivers with minor possibility to the phone hardware
Some times hard reset of the phone before flashing and then battery replacement can be of good help
Also be sure that immediately after a flash you remove usb cable, connect again and listen for the characteristic sound of connection
If this is ok then installed drivers are the problem

Issues with the "Seven-Eighter"

Today I tried to update my 800 with the tool provided by wphacker, however after 2 successful upgrades the tool fails to push the third and last update: basically the phone goes into download mode but no progress bar appears and after a minute or so it reboots, with and update error message showing up, asking me to connect to Zune, while the Seven-Eighter displays the message "complete with error code 80180048". Now when I launch Zune and look for updates it says the phone already has the latest version of the firmware installed, 7.10 (8783). I've tried to do this on 3 different PCs but no way. What do you guys think, you got any idea why this is happening? Will I still be able to get the update from Zune whenever it's released for my country variant? I'd try to update via Nokia Care Suite but that software never really seemed to work with my device, it just says "device not supported", I have no idea why. Any hints?

Hey
You probably forgotten to install the NCS Drivers. Both Winx86 & Winx64 driver installers may be found into C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Drivers.
Let's try to do it from the scratch...
1. Uninstall both Zune, Nokia Care Suite (and its components aka Connectivity Cable Driver and Winx?? Drivers), UpdateWP (i forgot the right name, but I refer to the component that's installed when you use seveneighter). Reboot your computer.
2. Install Nokia Care Suite (if you need a link just look for Nokia Care Suite at Softpedia). Install the Winx?? Drivers as well.
3. Open "Product Support Tool For Store".
4. Plug in your device (instert PIN if you have one). Your device should be at least recognized.
5. File/Open Product. Insert the RM from your Lumia.
6. Tools/Firmware Download. Insert your model # (if not set) and click Check Online.
7. Click Download to get the files.
8. Once finished downloading, click Programming/Recovery. (WARNING: it will wipe EVERYTHING from your device)
9. Unplug your device as soon as PSTFS report Finished (optional).
10. Uninstall Nokia Care Suite and its components (optional, but prevents problems between Zune and your device).
11. Install Zune.
After all (supposing it worked), check your phone. It may already be in 7.8, if its ROM was found by Nokia Care Suite. Otherwise just check for updates with Zune and you may be fine

Thanks for the tips, I'm downloading NCS right now. Not really in mood for wiping the phone right now tho, but I'll definitely go that way in a couple weeks or so I still haven't gotten anything from Zune. However I'll install this and see if it solves my connection issues with the Seven-Eighter, or at least actually detects my phone this time. Thanks again, I'll report back if it works
Edit: So I downloaded NCS and it works now. Btw I couldn't resist so I updated...everything went fine but now I gotta take myself some time to reinstall everything :S

You're welcome glad I helped ya
I did reinstall 7.5 to my Lumia yesterday just to update via seveneighter (because of reasons lol)
btw did you update using NCS itself? or you needed to pass by zune?
I updated via NCS, however I had to use the refurbish option because update didn't seem to work, it kept losing connection when going into download mode. No big deal. Since I was at it I also changed the software to the Italian CV, it was CV Spain by default because my Lumia is imported, so everything is perfect now. I really like the new layout, finally all I need is just a glance away, no need to swipe up and down anymore

Can not connect it to zune. Possible hardware problem ?

I have a Lumia 800, tried to connect on PC but failed.
Tried it in a new formatted PC, again with no luck.
I have tried all the fixes provided by Microsoft for Zune, again the phone is not recognized, nothing either as an uknown device.
I have to say that I reset the phone to test it again.
I guess that is a hardware problem on the phone.
Are there any things I can do for this? I would love to update it to 7.8
Thank you
come on. noone ?
