LWW Notification LED - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello.
I know that i got only 2 posts, but i hope that is not a problem with you guys
Anyhow,
I was interesed in the LWW notification LEDs and music LED.
Is there any way to control them?
LightFlow doesn't work on my phone, Blink on the other hand does work,
but i'm more interesed in the music LED for notifications.
I've spend hours searching google on some information about it, but i couldn't find a thing. If i'd know how to control that led i'd write an app for that, it's not a problem, but i can't figure out how to actually turn it on - besides walkman app.
I'm thinking of something like using it aditionally with the notif LED, to blink when there's a message, or to stay lit when there's a missed call etc.
I know how to write an app for controlling the notification led, but the music one gives me pain in the...
Please, if anyone has any information about our LWW LEDs, it would be much appriciated :fingers-crossed:

I have a wt19 with ICS and new walkman player, i want the lights works too.

Yes I too want a fix for LED problems!

I'm not talking about the useless use of it in walkman.
I'm talking about using the led for notifications, i.e. staying on if having a missed call, flashing when phone is finished with charging, pulsing if we have a new message etc.
I think our led is very usefull due to its location, unlike the real notification led, because it is bigger, and you can see it while sitting / relaxing while ur mobile is not in your close distance (i.e. on a table 1 meter of you, whatever)

any developer listening???

It seems not at the moment, i hope someone will check this thread before it dies :/
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app

good question or questions you want to make the music light the nothifications light, so the questions are if that it's possible and there is no way to flash a fix for the notification LED instead of wait fos Sony to make a 4.0.5?

Using Lasan's mod fixed my problem with notification LED.

notification leds are working for me, i just want to make the music led work as it is a notification led..
i messed with /sys/class/leds/music-light for a bit but couldn't do anything, the "trigger" file is just reverting back to original (selected [none]) whenever i edit it.
any help would be appreciated

as far as notification led is considered it works by lightflow on my lww..
but the music light does not light up properly (it just light up for 2 or 3 seconds and not stable light)

With already mentioned mod, you can set different notification LED color for each notification type (messages, missed calls, notifications).

yeah

For only LED Notification you can:
-Make Backup first, possible Bootloop-
Works fine on Rooted Stock Sony ICS (4.1.B.0.531).
Odex: you have in /system/framework some *.odex files you must deodex, goto 1
Deodexed: no *.odex files in /system/framework nothing to do, goto 2
1. deodex /system/framework, 2 possible Methods:
- use xUltimate from this Post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24876893&postcount=1 or
- use Deodex Patch from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26701025&postcount=1 Flash in CWM
2. install in CWM services.jar from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27696120&postcount=1 (File: DeodexedNotificationLedFix.zip)
I used Deodex Patch and DeodexedNotificationLedFix.zip for my Xperia Mini (ST15) and it works fine, only thing is the LED is blinking very fast.

My rom is the official ICS for LWW, is odexed or deodexed?

The notification LED stops working when LED bar is enabled. Could you fix that? I would love to use your app but would want the notification LED to keep performing as lots of other apps use them.

I know but when i try to search for it in the play store app, i see some results but not this one.
And when i try to download it from the play store webpage i can't download because it says this: This item is not compatible with your device
Now i know at least what the reason is why i can't find it with the Play store app.
Strange... do you have any restriction maybe for carriers?
maybe the problem is really my phone but i can wait, so i'll see maybe the next update will work

Great! Really appreciate your work :good:
Saving battery life is okay, but when I have screen on I want to see the buttons and not search in the dark...
Thanks fab !!
Bar light was set to brightest as default indeed. But only prob is that it doesnt stay on. It keeps waiting for the light to turn off before it turns it back on. Then after a while it goes off and the bar light goes back to your default accorfing to your display when you force it on again.
Hopefully the next update will fix this and let the bar light stay the brightest even if its not always on i dont mind. This app is good. Oh by the way, also doesnt work when screen is on.
Other than than, i appreciate your work illuminatic! Thank you for developing this app!

[APP] Light Manager Compatibility

I created this application for Samsung Galaxy SIII and I guess it might be useful to be used in Samsung Galaxy Note II. Some Samsung Galaxy Note II users reported that this application works properly in their device. So I guess there should be not much differences between Samsung Galaxy SIII and Note II in term of the core software. Anyway, you may report if there is any bugs. Your suggestions and comments are welcomed as well.
Description:
Configure LED color and its flashing frequency for notification as shown below:
- Miss call
- SMS
- MMS
- Gmail
- Calendar reminder
- Hangouts

- Low battery
- Battery charging
- Battery charged
- No signal
- No 3G/4G
- No Wifi
- Silent Mode On
- Mobile Data On
- Wifi On
- Wifi Hotspot On
- Bluetooth On
On Android 4.1 and 4.2, ROOT is required for those mark with asterisk *.
After grant the ROOT permission, you need to restart Light Manager for changes to take effect.
However ROOT is not required anymore from Android 4.3 onwards. You need to enable the Notification Access for Light Manager.
There are two operating modes:
1) Normal Mode - Only LED color for the first notification will be flashing
2) Alternating Mode - A few LED colors will be flashing alternately when multiple notifications are received

Yes, it is constantly running in background and cause wakelock only when you switch to "Alternating Mode".
Battery consumption is depending on your settings.
Minimum consumption would be running in "Normal Mode" without any 3rd party app notification LED enabled.
I got about 0.1% tested with Gsam Battery Monitor in SGSIII.
Looks interesting. What is the main difference between this and Light Flow?
This one does not talk back.

Thanks.
Seems to work well.
Thx a lot ! Looks very nice !
One thing I've noticed is that if I get a notification, the LED will blink as it should.
But if I then swipe away the notification instead of opening it, the LED keeps blinking once you lock the screen.
I have to go into the app that the notification was for in order to stop the LED blinking.
Is there any way to stop the LED if you swipe away the notification?
[edit] This only seems to be a problem when set to "Alternating Mode". When set to "Normal" swiping away a notification stops the LED flashing. I'll leave it set to normal and forego the multicolours [/edit]
Not working on Note 2 rooted.. installed the app, configured colors, gave root, restarted app.. nothing.
For me work well and this app fix the problem when charging and led light show red fade now it show real red thxx

The app is working well!
But is there any possibility to also show the led notifications when the screen is on? So when i play a game or something and my device vibrates i can see what notification i received by looking at the led light.
I can also confirm that it kills the swyping feature of the keyboard just like Light Flow

Swyping feature still working fine for me.
The add app doesn't seem to work. Otherwise, works well! LED app with none of the talking folders, just what I'm looking for! :good:
EDIT: Stupid me. Just read that you need "alternating mode" to add apps. What's alternating mode and how is it different from normal?
What settings are you guys using for this to work? When I try to do the test nothing happens for me.
I tried light Flow and could only get a single color working (cyan).

Well main difference is that it works flawlessly, when Light Flow once enabled it also enables Talkbalk (I think there's a solution for that posted somewhere) BUT most importantly (for me) it disables the swype-like features on Samsung Keyboard.
+1 to Light Manager
I use no special settings and it just works. Try normal mode though.

Yeah, swipe away the notification will not cancel the notification LED. I guess this is a bug which cannot be fixed. For Normal Mode, it can work because the firmware will cancel all notification LED once you have pulled down the notification bar.

I guess this function is limited by the manufacturer. Notification LED can only appear when the screen is off.

[Q] Getting Illumination Bar in CM11 on Xperia U

Hello all
ive seen that illumination bar was working(only notification) for cm based roms.So i wanted to ask that can we make illumination bar work in cm11 for xperia u. by pushing some files to sys/lib/hw
if yes whats the procedure
It indeed is possible to get illumination notifications working on CM for the xperia u however the CM11 for XU is still in early stages of its developement.
I am sure the developers of CM11 know how to add illumination bar support since they already have it working on earlier versions of CM. I however do not think it is one of their main priorities at this moment, a stable rom is more important than a gimmic like the illumination bar. Just be patient and give the developers their time to create an awsome ROM, the illumination bar will follow eventually
gimmick
i understand and agree that devs have bigger fish to fry than illumination bar (e.g. being able to disable and reenable wifi), however it certainly isn't a gimmick to be able to tell at a glance and without touching the phone if there is an unanswered message, email or call to respond to. the illumination bar on cm10 saved me many many many instances of returning to a room and having to pick up phone, open case, unlock screen, relock screen, close case, put back down, and all just to learn that there is nothing i needed to know.
i know you're trying to defend the awesome devs from excess hassle, but dismissing the op's request for a feature as a gimmick was unnecessary. (as is this post.... obviously)
Illumination receiver
You can use illumination receiver with the illumination bar notification app. For me it works.
It might even work without the illumination bar notification app with the CM settings.
But the illumination receiver is definitely is needed. Search through the forum for the apk!

thanks for the help here,
i've successfully overwritten the montblanc file in lib/hw rebooted and enabled settings>display>pulse notification light, but still no notification in lightbar. it doesn't function when i hit 'test' in the configuration page nor when an actual message/call is received.
also the top-right corner led now no longer lights when charging or when notifications are missed (pretty sure it did before changing the montblanc file)
stupidly i didnt backup the original montblanc - anyone know where i can replace it, or better yet why the fix might not be working for me?
thanks!
btw i'm using maclaw's [ROM] [UB] [Kitkat] [4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 200121207
---------- Post added at 06:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:06 PM ----------
updated to cm11 20131213 which presumably reset the montblanc file. backed it up and retried the fix. still no notification bar.
with original montblanc led in top right functions as normal -when charging, using 'test' in pulse configuration and when messages received.
with fix led does not work and also the screen does not completely turn off when put to sleep - it's not completely black.
have switched back and forward to verify that led and screen total-blackout are fixed and broken by making this change.
what gives? just me?

OnePlus3 Slider Mod
Mute - Vibrate - Loud
Hello,
this is my latest Xposed module for the OnePlus 3.
It changes the behavior of the OnePlus3 slider to
mute
vibrate
loud
instead of the normal do not disturb/priority/zen mode.
It also removes the popup and replaces the dnd icons in statusbar
In order for this to work correctly you need to go to your settings and
allow calls and messages from everyone in the priority settings.
This module has been tested on OnePlus3 with OxygenOS
Download from Xposed repo
[QRCODE]http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.chrisxe.xposed.op3slider[/QRCODE]
Thanks for this mod! I really need it!
However, it has two bugs I've found.
First one is a visual bug. When in vibrate mode, it shows two icons.
Then, when turn the slider down to normal mode, the sound is always low, even if it was loud when changing to vibrate.
Thanks. Installed and experienced the two vibration icon too. Hope next version will fix it.
Sorry for the two vibrate icons. i hid mine before with another module so i forgot about it..
should be fixed now.
@mrasquinho do you mean ringer or media volume?

Hey, thats nice thanks. I created an app with is doing the same (via Tasker).
There are many users already (at least it looks like, the Thread in the offical Oneplus Forum is growing -> alert slider: ring-vibrate-silent is the title, can't post links yet)
Anyway im at the end of what i can do with tasker now (other customization)
Would you like to work together in order to customize the alert slider even more?
If so, can you tell me what your app is doing exactly, and why xposed is needed?
Thanks!
Weathon
Just installed this module and there are still 2 vibrate icons @MythosXe,You mentioned its fixed?
Hello I've installed this mod and it is working fine ...
There are 2 parts to this
1. (feature request)
Just one question... Can the order be reversed? Top position - all ; middle position - vibrate ; bottom position - mute?
Can this be done?
2. (bug identified)
When the slider is set "NORMAL" mode the volume is decreased and we must manually increase it again can you fix this bug..?

what rom / version are you on? do you have the oneplus 3?
you can try the attached version if it works for you, just install it over your old one
(different approach to remove the second vibrate icon, if this one also fails for you, i might have another one)
about ringer volume:
i'll take a look soon, dont have much time atm, sry
@coolguynothot
yeah can be done. i might add some more settings in later versions
Any plans to support CM13?
Looks cool. Do you plan on releasing the source code? :good:
Hi, I remember you from alarmclock+ mod. Confirmed working (0.2 on OOS 3.2.2) with no bugs whatsoever. If I may ask for a request - could you reset the order of the slider in the same module? The top position being normal, mid stays vibrate, and the lowest becomes mute? That would be more logical, this is tingling my OCD.
Works well on my OP3 OxygenOS 3.2.2, icons display perfect, one for each position !
Can you please look at the bug of the low ringer?
Otherwise, it's unusable for me...

Thanks

Notification LED

hi community,
i am just wondering if the pro model has a notification led (aka pulse light) - i tried very hard finding some information about it in youtube videos and web pages but with no success. my guess is that it has one since p20 (with smaller notch) has it and mate 20 light also but i just want to be sure..
thanks!
if you are interested in my research. i have no result yet but two interesting images:

Yes any chance of uploading a picture/video of the LED, I'm curious...
I have a P10+ and the light is tiny...pretty crap really, compared to Samsung's.
Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkfZLaS4YGA at 6:16 onwards.
You're welcome./

Ah great thank you!
thanks. looks very good for me.
Can anyone answer thje question as to whether you can see white, purple, yellow, red blue (etc) colours via a 3rd party app like LIGHTFLOW and actually have it work? Or is this limited to 1-3 different LED types given you cannot root the phone.
i must say that Samsung implementation is way better ... more light and more controls...

I too have previously relied on LED to notify me of things using LightFlow, then I got used to AOD on Samsung and didn't need the LED to tell me, but with Mate 20's version of AOD I will need LED notifications..... however, seems that things have changed with Android and LightFlow, limiting its capabilities..... https://www.reactle.com/2018/10/features-removed.html
my mate 20 pro led turns green when it's not fully charged yet (93% and still charging). is this a huawei feature? i assumed most phones only shows green led when it's fully charged.
is this normal?

I was under the impression it turned green once charging hit 90%. Maybe someone will correct me.
Ya it turned green if >90%. A feature that’s not observed in other Brands I’ve used.
Probably useful for those who wants to preserve battery more by avoiding full charge cycles.

Huawei says that 80-20 is the real recommended charge/discharge rate. the first 10% drops FAST, the remaining really doesnt, the last 20% only lasts a few hours
Using my email app (Nine email) I'm able to change the LED notification between red/blue/green/purple and also the duration of flash.
I managed to get light flow to work using the legacy app but it doesn't respect do not disturb mode so not using it as I use that overnight. Just going to let the phone use it's default green light for texts and emails and changed WhatsApp to a white light in the settings.

Confirmed also for BlueMail app - works like a charm.
