How to root HC OTA 3.62.X.X , I am willing to pay even !!!! (SOLVED) - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Here is where I am confused
I had my Flyer 3G 32GB . S-OFF'd by Revolutionary when I was on GB
Then I had installed LeeDroid's HC rom and I was on HC, everything is fine till now.
Recently I wanted to go back to GB but I could not ( I got some HTC screens so I gave up) then I flashed GLOBATRON'S methods and I am on S-OFF, Rooted HC 3.55.x.x stock Rom from his thread.
Currently there is a new OTA for my 3.55.x.x ROM and I have the RUU file for the OTA.
After running the OTA RUU , now my Flyer is on HC 3.62.x.x but I can not root it. CWM method is not working on the Revolutionary site as this rom is HC , I manually flashed the CWM img thru fastboot but no go.
My question is how to root my Flyer again after flashing the RUU file of the OTA 3.62.x.x from rooted 3.55.x.x
I know that if I flash a rom like Leedroid's it will work, but instead I want to flash the Original OTA RUU and the root it somehow. There is NO instructions on how to do it for Flyer.
My question is how to flash the CWM and SU onto my new HC 3.62.x.x Rom
Can I somehow remove the ROM and RADIO of the already rooted 3.55.x.x by Globatron and replace with ROM and RADIO of 3.62.x.x ? If yes how to do it ?
Or what to do ?
Pls Help somebody

I Think you must: 1 Downgrade 2 S-Off and root
I think these two threads could help you

I believe, since it is the ota, that you need to complete the steps of the tacoroot/ misc version method of downgrading from globatron and then flash the gb ruu for your device, I don't believe it matters which hboot you have for hc. Then use globatrons honeycomb s off ruu on top of that and bingo! Hope I helped

I believe you would require someone to make you a stock Rooted ROM that can be flashed via CWM
But why do you not want to use of the custom ~ROMs that are already on the market ?

I already used some of them but I wasnt happy with the battery drainage.
I was on Leedroid and battery drain was fast somehow, currently I am on the rooted stock 3.55 and my battery is 80% since I took it off the charge this morning at 8.00am
I used it full time for 1 hours when I was going to work in my car. Normally with Leedroid I could never get 80% at this time since I do regular things with my flyer every work day , such as check my e-mails, facebook, twitter when I am on the 1 hour way to work.

Here is the LINK of the RUU of the OTA
Now I am S-OFF by Revolutionary , and rooted by Globatron's HC 3.55.X.X from this link
This is the info about it :
Instructions Part 2
The large download is a stock HoneyComb 3.55.405.1 for 3G and 3.55.1114.31 for WIFI with the following changes:
Rooted
Busybox
Secure flag turned off on the boot image
Stock recovery replaced by CWM
My Android knowledge tells me , if I replace the ROM.ZIP and RADIO.ZIP of that rom with the pnes from the latest RUU , it can work.
But if it is something else, I wouldn't know it anyway

Quick Note
I have not had any reports of battery drainage on my ROM, its listed as Senseless 4.1.0 in the threads, maybe give that a go ?

Here is a link to a stock ROM which you can flash in recovery that has been pulled from the 3.62.468.1 RUU with root permissions added. Just make sure you take the usual precautions and nandroid backup your device first. If you are fully S-OFF this should work fine.

I don't know what the differences are between the ROM I'm using so far and this one, but I'll give it a spin (HTC won't release an update if it didn't fix/add something )

As far as I know , this rom has English and Turkish as the main languages.
You might need Morelocale2 from Market to add more locations such as Netherlands and etc.

You can do absolutely nothing! :good: Just glad to help.
Here's a link to the radio.img from the 3.62.468.1 RUU if you wanted it. You can flash it to your Flyer in fastboot using;
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
If for some reason something doesn't work have globatron's RUU ready at hand.

[Q] OTA Update For 16GB Flyer with S-OFF/CWM/ROOT

Hi all,
I have rooted and S-OFFed my 16 GB Flyer using Revolutionary and I'm currently on 2.3.4.
I just noticed that there is an OTA Update available for 3.2.
Can i run this without an issue, or do I have to restore the flyer to stock to flash the OTA?
thanks,
i dont think it will run and you need to go to stock for ota update.

thanks, I thought as much.
every time I read through the threads on returning to stock I just don't understand it fully.
The main thing I am having issue with is understand what the RUU is and how I know what one to use.
I have a UK 16GB Wifi only
as you are s-off and rooted you could upgrade to a custom 3.2 rom. i did it a couple of days ago and im happy with it. I also have a 16gb uk flyer.

i followed GLOBATRON's guide to upgrade to HC which is very straight forward
I think that is what is tripping me up.
So, all I have to do is download the RUU for the 16GB,
as I'm on GB with Revolutionary S-OFF and CWM i just run the executable?
does the Flyer need to be connected to the PC? does it have to be in a certain mode?
sorry for the questions, I've come from rooting on Galaxy S2 and this seems far more complicated.

need to be connected via usb, i put debugging mode on. run the.exe. it will reboot the flyer into fastboot and flash it. if you download the full one it will be stock with root and s-off if you want, you can then reboot into recovery and flash the custom rom
excellent, thanks for your help.
for the LeeDroid Rom, all that needs to be done after going through the above is to flash the zip in recovery?

glad all worked out ok. you might what to flash the LeeDrOiD Flyer HC V2.1.0 - 2.6.35.14 KERNEL it has some fixes in there too. just drop it on SD card and install .zip in recovery
Note from Globatron on HC OTA updates for S-OFF users.
It is possible, but not the simplest of options to upgrade with S-OFF.

Once you are upgraded to HC and on leedroid 2.0.0 rom then update to 2.1.0 kernel. The only time you need to grab anything to do with wifi flyer is the ruins to upgrade to HC

Noob Question
I may be posting this in the wrong thread, but this is the closest match I could find, since I am a new member and unable to post in the development threads.
I would like to start off by thanking all the devs who have worked so hard on development issues with the Flyer, I intend on donating to them as soon as I am able, as I think everyone who has benefitted should. With that said, please forgive me if this has been covered. I have read pretty much all the threads/posts on these issues and used the search function, but I tend to get somewhat confused by the high volume of information provided and wanted some verification before I go down this road.
I have a BB Wi-Fi 16 GB Flyer (HTC_Flyer_P512_NA). I have run Revolutionary to get S-OFF, installed CWM, and rooted, but still on stock GB 2.3.4; I am now at Software Version 2.27.1540.32, HBOOT Version 6.10.1002, Kernel version 2.6.35.10. I would now like to give HC a try, but not lose root. I would like to start off with stock HC and have the ability to try out some of the custom ROMs. I would also like the ability to go back to GB, if desired.
Here is what I have gleaned so far:
1) I should be able to run Globatron’s method from post #1 of this thread ([Guide][Flyer]Honeycomb S-OFF, Easy Install, Recovery and Root. [US Wifi Added]), starting at step 2, for updating to honeycomb and retaining root.
2) After this, I should have the ability to flash custom HC ROMs.
3) From there, I should have the ability to go back to stock HC, keeping S-OFF and root.
4) Using the procedure in post #3 of this thread ([Guide][Flyer]Honeycomb S-OFF, Easy Install, Recovery and Root. [US Wifi Added]) will take me back to GB with S-OFF and CWM.
5) From GB with S-OFF and CWM, I can go completely back to stock GB with S-ON using this procedure: [Guide][Flyer+View] How to return to S-ON after running revolutionary].
If/where I am wrong about any of the above, could someone kindly point out where and how I am wrong? Assuming all of the above is correct, I have a couple of questions:
• Will I lose my data using Globatron’s method in post #1?
• Although Globatron strongly recommends method 1, I would like to use method 2 because it seems more straight-forward for a noob like me. Is this a bad idea?
Yes, I am a noob (BTW, I hate that word, but I do fall into that category), but I don’t exactly hate myself. Please don’t be hating on me either, even though I am sure that some, or all, of these questions have already been answered. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Best Way to Root EVO View

Just ordered one today and want to be prepared when it arrives. Looked through the dev section but wanted to get opinions from some people here.
It says it will be shipping with Gingerbread. What is the best way to root with Gingerbread? Would it be this link?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194709
In the end I would like to have Honeycomb running on my device rooted. Can I just run it like that and flash a honeycomb Rom? I saw a thread with people having to flash back to Gingerbread to get the official Honeycomb Rom. What would be the point or advantage to this? I am definitely not new to rooting and like to be there when the device first rolls out so I am there from the start but I am juming into this device pretty late to the party so there seems like a few different options to go with.
Appreciate any help with an overview and best direction to go. I am sure others who purchased the device today would find this useful as well.....
Thanks in advance guys...Looking forward to hanging with the view folks. Seems like a cool crowd!
That would be the best way.
If you want to go to Honeycomb and retain the root/S-OFF (google that if you dont know) then you must follow this guide to go to Honeycomb:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409306
If you want stock Honeycomb with NO ROOT you should NOT ROOT Gingerbread and just check for over the air updates.

OK follow that guide.
You can't just flash a HC ROM over Gingerbread, because the hboot versions are different. Once you have followed that guide, you can flash and Honeycomb ROM.
Also I don't thing that HTC updated the View's hboot. You can check by rebooting while holding the volume done key and you will see hboot version.

Currently S-ON about to go S-OFF!

I have gathered all the information needed to do the S-OFF switch. I have one main concern. I am on a custom rom. Clean Rom to be exact. Instructions state that I need to get on the "stock" rom first before I go about the procedure. I am kind of stumped here.
Any suggestions of how I can get back to "stock?"
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Many people have done it on custom ROMS... I had trouble initially when on CleanRom and then switched to a different computer and flashed the stock rooted GB rom, NOT the RUU and the thing ran straight through successfully. So was the ROM the problem, don't know and didnt' care, I was S-off If you have the time, flash the stock ROM before you start. If you find the rooted one, you don't have to relock then unlock the bootloader.
Make sure you use an old SD card...I had to flash a recovery and boot.img between major failures..so have those handy...hopefully you will 'sail through!!!' Good Luck. :good:

Yea it's pretty simple. On my other stock Rezound all I did was HTC dev unlock and flash amon ra and then did the s-off. Main thing to remember is "DO NOT HTC DEV UNLOCK" after you get s-off.

Unlocked S-ON and confused

Hi everyone, I feel very sorry for this question, I am a noob and not so well in Androis system and I get so confused on all the instruction that I've read on the discussion.
My question is this, I really dont know if I can flash custom ROM such as CoolFlyer or Leedroid ROM for my HTC Flyer WIFI, My HTC Flyer is
unlocked already but still S-ON, with HBOOT 1.11.0011, and it has also a Revolutionary CWM v.4.0.1.4. It is also in Stock Honeycomb ROM
Actually I paid only some Technician to root my phone and I gain S-ON Unlocked, the problem is he did'nt rollback it into Gingerbread thats why I am not sure on how will I installed custom ROM like CoolFlyer.
.3 or
Can someone to inform me how can i make it S-OFF, and if im S-ON still can I flash Custom ROM like Leedroid HC V.4.3 or Cool 3dHoney v.6?
Thanks and really appreciated your help.
Just follow the guides here in the Flyer Android Development forum
My honest opinion is that you should roll back to gb and gain s off. Anyone you paid should of done so. You can flash roms from your current state but it requiresyou to learn how to use fastboot commands

Pretty much. Though you'll need to manually flash the boot.img file from the ROM after every installation, or the system won't boot and you'll be stuck on HTC logo screen, and of course a custom recovery to be able to flash ROMs
