[Q] Continuous bootloop nor my recovery is working at all whatsoever - HTC Rezound

I have been screwing with my phone for over 4 days straight and I CANNOT figure anything out....Im so frustrated!!! I flashed a ROM and now I am in continuous bootloop mode. My clockwork mod is completely broke down, I can't backup my nand because it is on Amon recovery. but i can't figure out how to reinstall Amon through bootloader....since, when i restart my phone. i only get about 5 seconds to try and do anything before it bootloops.....PLEASE someone help me step by step. I need someone to comment back and stay posted on this thread for me....please I am on my last leg, I just want my phone to be rooted, a good recovery installed and thats all I'm asking for.....But the problem is, I have to do everything through bootloader because of the bootloop.....I want to get clockwork mod off my phone and reinstall Amon recovery.

Run the ruu of your choice and then while in fast boot do:
Fastboot flash recovery nameoffile.img

would you mind posting a link to a RUU for me please?? I am to the point where I don't care what ROM it is. I just wanna be able to get on my phone and get recovery working right. Thank you

no you run the ruu first and what you flash in fastboot is the recovery
flashing a recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery file.img
then flash a rom
i honestly can link you to a list of ruus because there not all in one place :/

also once the file is installed onto my PC, I have to extract that file to c:\android where I have fastboot located in correct???

Oh wow ok, I thought an RUU was sort of the same thing as a ROM. Ok so I download an RUU, let it run. does it have to be in the android file that I created? or just let it run and do its thing? I'm so confused lol thanks for helping me out through this. I just wanna get this taken care of. the wife is getting frustrated with me haha

If it's an exe file just plug your phone in and run it but if it's a zip file rename it to "PH98IMG.zip" and put it on your external sd card then reboot to bootloader.

Find a method how to s-off this phone and we will tell you how to easy flash radio lol
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda premium
Here is how you update your radio
It's really easy.
Make a backup of your device.
Make sure you have your ROM downloaded
Make sure you have the PH85IMG.zip downloaded from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20230294&postcount=25 but don't store it to the root of your external sdcard just yet.
Download stock recovery file here
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19769336/recovery.img and name it to STOCK_recovery.img and save it to C:\ (or whatever)
Boot your device in hboot (bootloader) mode.
When your device is in hboot mode enter this command in the command prompt.
cd c:\
fastboot flash recovery STOCK_recovery.img
Click to collapse
When it's done you should now have the stock recovery installed.
Download your update and when it reboots it will install your update with all the partitions including your radio.
After your update installs you should now have version 1.43.531.3 but no root.
Go ahead and place the PH85IMG.zip file from earlier on the root of your external sdcard now.
Boot back into hboot by removing the battery, hold the volume down button while pressing power button.
It will ask you to update the recovery. Do it.
You should now have the clockwork recovery 5.0.2.7 (with an X)
Flash the rom that you had earlier by installing the .zip file
Restore your data from recovery if necessary
Let me know if this works for you.
If you can't download the update for whatever reason then you'll have to use the RUU.
http://www.multiupload.com/MNQLVNJW1K (T-Mobile US)
You'll have to relock your bootloader for it to work.
Hopefully htcdev will allow your to unlock it again.
Remove/rename the PH85IMG.zip and skip to step 9.

-ICS-AOSP (error)
Shooter_2.08.651.2_odexed_rooted-signed (This one worked perfect but after MikRunny-3vo-v1.1 non of stock .Img works)
I take it your Hboot 1.5 since your using the Flash Gui.. I don't use that app..
Your suppose to flash the rom first then use that app to flash the kernel you want wipe the cache and davlik cache and it will flash the kernel and reboot for you.. Suppose to work that way... I think the kernel you may be tryin to use might be the issue..
Best way to flash is to...
Be in Hboot use adb:
Fastboot boot recovery.img wipe and flash the rom... You will have zero issues this route man..
Also I am on the 2.17 build and radios and what not haven't had any issues with things...
The problem your having is related to the kernel not flashin or rather the boot.img is messing up..

To root that method you have to have java jdk and SDK along with htc sync installed.

What is it doing???
You wipe then you flash the rom and reboot and it should take off...
What build are you tryin to use a 2.08 or 2.17 if your tryin a 2.17 build you may need to update your radios...
It takes it a few to go past the splash screen 1min to 2min sometimes longer depends on the rom...
Im doing it again do I have to wipe cache only? or both (user/factory)?
Yesssss thank you very much, I intall the Stock IMg, so with this process I have to install MikRunny-3vo-v1.1-CDMA-signed and its going to work???
I appreciate your value time
Another quiestion is,
System UIDS INconsistent
UIDS on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable.

Sounds like you planned doing this with some thought...
Installing AmonRa is very straight foreword.. There are a number of threads that cover it in detail.
The newest version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23781936&postcount=428
http://www.mediafire.com/?nie2w1ei0phhhup
Here is the link to the newest Amon Ra. Put it in the folder with fastboot exe, the folder you used to unlock your phone. Plug your phone into your PC. Boot your phone into hboot and select fastboot. It will say fastboot usb. Run the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" recovery.img being the file name of the recovery download. You can name the file whatever you want if it makes it easier to run in the command ling
Yeah I know...It was a really stupid move on my part. Thank you guys...There were 2 AmanRa files and I needed to use the updated one or something. I tried the original and it didn't work so that's why I panicked. I fixed it like 20 min after this thread but ty guys so much!

hboot problems

Ok to start off i unlocked, rooted, flashed cwm with hansoons tool kit everything went perfect! Was having problems flashing roms because i am s -on. I had a nandroid tho so i just restored it and everything worked fine again. Last night i flashed a rom and after flashing was sent to hboot. Now my phone is stuck either on a black screen. At first i couldnt get in recovery thru hboot but after i removed my ext sd it would let me choose to enter recovery. So i went to restore my nandroid and md5 mismatched.. Im at a loss.. I tried to get help somewhere else but havent got a reply and i need my phone for work tomorrow! If anyone can help id appreciate. Im not a noob just kinda a noob to htc and this s-on/s-off stuff.
First I would install Amon Ra recovery, then I would just flash a new ROM that does the boot.img thing by itself like Clean ROM.

What ROM did you try flashing?
If you have a computer nearby. You have CWM still installed? Make a new md5 file of the nandroid
or
reflash a rom that you do have on your phone
or
flash a kernel and hope it boots like joels
or
if all else fails. I would say download latest RUU and flash it in HBOOT. That is the last thing you would want to do.

No idea man. If this link doesn't work then I am not sure if I can find another link out there. http://shipped-roms.com/download.php?&model=Vigor&file=PH98IMG_ICS_4.03.605.2.zip&send_file=yes
If still not downloading then try another internet browser like chrome or firefox

Thanks graywolf but firefox is a no go also. I cant believe the luck im having with the links. I have an idea maybe someone could tell me if it would work. Since i am unable to download from my phone i was thinking of running to radioshack and buying one of those sd cards that a micro goes inside of, i could then put it in my laptop download clean rom put it on the sd card, then put the micro in my phone boot into recovery and flash away. I've heard this cleanrom flashes eveything together so you dont have to flash the boot.img seperately. Would this idea work?

That would work. But cleanrom is so outdated. Use Nils Sense 3.6 if your on the global firmware. But out of curiosity what ROM do you currently have installed? If it is a Sense rom. Install one of the kernels found. Maybe Bamf since his is setup for easy s-on guys.
