[ALPHA]WRATH OF THE JELLYBEAN[v1.0] - HTC EVO 3D

IT BOOOTSSSS. I call it wrath of the jellybean because it kicked everyone's [parental block for cursing] while we built this. I'll do a thorough change log later I'm waiting on the final testing and uploading now, plus what does and doesn't work. Thank u to all contributors (will be specific later) and testers, and a big round of applause for preludedrew for his boot image that made this work. Thanks for the support and dedication eve 3d community. I may have gotten the project running but I refuse to take so much as 1% of any credit that isn't mine because god knows how many people helped me with this. So, to all that stood by all of us and to those that jumped in feet first with us, pat yourself on the back, you are now a mold for what a true android community should be about. Thank you

Jellybean Evo 3D 0.1 Port
JB-E3D-0.1 Mirror (Thanks Dastin1015)
Jellybean v1 Mod Instructions for this:
1. Download this zip and Unzip it (this ISN'T flashable, like it matters)
2. Take the Meta-INF folder and replace it with the one in JB-E3D (double check the mount points in the updater-script, they should be right though)
2a. replace the build.prop also, I think I changed something in their also
NOTE: DONT DELETE THE SYSTEM DIRECTORY IN THE BASE!
3. open the system directory in this base, and drag all files in this to their same directories in JB-E3D base (yes, overwrite the other files in base)
Another note: for folders like the /system/etc/wifi/ and directories like those, delete the ENTIRE directory (I.E. delete the wifi folder in that directory as a whole) and replace it with the other wifi folder in this zip (do this for all directories within directories like this)
4. Report back to us on whether it was a success or failure
For Version 0.2
Jellybean Evo 3D 0.2 Test
As always, double check my updater script to ensure the correct mount points. I checked, but it never hurts to look for yourself
For Version 1.0 ALPHA
Wrath of the JB 1.0 ALPHA

I know there's not a rule against naming your rom like someone else's, but you might wanna re-think that name considering Mikey here at XDA has it pretty much nailed down with his ridiculously popular MeanRom. At the very least it'd avoid a bit of confusion.
That said, this is pretty cool. Not gonna check it out just yet, but I'm gonna keep an eye on it!

I can't wait to see what these awesome devs can do with this

ICL23D - Galaxy Nexus boot / recovery / system dump

Below are links to a ICL23D Ice Cream Sandwich development build for the Galaxy Nexus!
Originally posted at:

Some points to note about the files...
All 3 files are completely stock and unedited
This build is a dev build, not a release build
This build is from a test Galaxy Nexus
This build is not odexed!
I know a lot of people are hacking up ports for other devices, so hopefully the non-odexed nature of this release together with the fact it includes the boot and recovery images will help make that happen.
All I ask is that you don't mirror the files elsewhere, that you link back to this topic rather than deeplinking the files and that if you use them you credit the source. So here they are...
Galaxy Nexus ICL23D boot image - http://www.filesonic.com/file/2985317613 - MD5: 8ad48c176eb12b33e436f38a8d9711f8
Galaxy Nexus ICL23D recovery image - http://www.filesonic.se/file/2985400373 - MD5: c02fe19e8b0d162e225597aab26704cb
Galaxy Nexus ICL23D system image (tar.gz) - http://www.filesonic.se/file/2985366173 - MD5: 7a47451ace5689b0fefbec64a7b911a0
(NOTE I WILL NOT CREATE ANY MULTIUPLOAD MIRROR OF THIS FILE!)
DUE TO I WANT YOU TO SUPPORT THIS GUY!
Enjoy!
Damn, was literally coming here to post this, DAMN...
but how hard would it be to port it over to our phone?

to start is to make it to boot, using the changes in init.rc (however this is not nessesary as our boot.img already seems to have these, but needs to be edited a bit if i aint wrong,
then create boot.img
go for libs, try edit em to make it work for our armv6, boot and it should be starting
however editing libs takes good time,
i still wonder how Honeycomb were ported and not ics

[ROM] Darkforest ROM 3.0.5 UPDATE | GSM 2.3.4/.62 | CDMA 2.3.3/.145 [WIP]

Darkforest ROM 3.1.0
Turn your R800i into an Xperia S with Darkforest ROM 3.1.0 GSM
Version 3.1.0 is GSM only and if you install on an R800x you will lose all phone functionality.
Download 3.1.0: http://icxperia.com/keiran/dfr3/DFRGSM3.1.0.zip or via DFR OTA
3.1.0 Changelog:
Code:
Darkforest ROM 3.1.0 Changelog
- Using 4.0.2.A.0.64 base
- Xperia S themed by FlamEmo - framework-res.apk, SemcGenericUxpRes.apk, SemcSettings.apk
- Disabled ALS due to themed Settings app not showing disable auto brigtness option
- Added Xperia S Applications:
Alarms
Browser
Calculator
Calendar
Clock
Contacts
Email
Gallery
Games & apps (facebook)
Messaging
Music & videos (facebook)
Music Player
Phone
Settings
Setup Guide (needs resizing still)
Timescape
Track ID
Xperia S Live Wallpapers
Xperia S Themes (work like existing themes)
Xperia S Widgets
Xperia S Home
- Left all stock widgets there (eg. old timescape) incase people still like to use them.
- Added Xperia ICS Beta Boot Animation
- Left Update center for people on locked b
- Added support for New Darkforest OTA application with real updating
- Added Darkforest Tweak app for tweaking your device on the go
- Updated to latest AROMA installer, using ICS theme in installer
- Removed GSM Mods: Custom Home and Custom Theme, I don't think they are needed as you can apply them yourself easily, this saves downloading something you don't want.
Version 3.1.0 is in testing, and is using Xperia S applications, some issues are:
Code:
Setup Wizard needs either replacing or resizing
Timescape needs resizing, although I think it looks fine
There is a bug in the smart dialer, the * button, a bit of it doesn't show, this doesn't affect functionality.
If you like my work and you would like to help me save towards a university fund, please donate here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/donatetome.php?u=4344506
If you are a CDMA user, due to old framework, some of the mods I have applied to the GSM version will not work on the CDMA version. If anyone manages to get any of the Xperia S applications running on the CDMA ROM, please tell me which ones, as I don't have a device for myself.
Download for CDMA & GSM 3.0.5: http://darkforestgroup.com/forum/index.php/topic,11307.0.html
Download for 3.1.0 coming soon

The reason I do all this is because we are a small community and Sony Ericsson don't attract big developers such as LeeDrOiD and mike1986, so its easier to get to learn about people here. In the other sections I only have a few friends, here I have many
Plus, developing for the R800x is cool because there is nothing better than one upping Verizon lol

Thanks,
Going to try to push for an early beta tomorrow for CDMA.
Also going to include options on the aroma Rom installer such as applying themes
I already have it set up for GSM, and the script is set up for CDMA, I just need to merge some CDMA files
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
CDMA roms are that much different? Only difference is radio right? I don't get why they have to make it so difficult. Good luck hope you cdma guys get to join the fun. Looking forward to dfr3 thanks

I'll gladly take a 2.3.4 ROM with 4.0.2.A.0.62 (as alternate to the 2.3.3s & 2.3.7s)
Keiran, i have to say, from a lurker's point of view, you are awesome!
When i first saw the name of the thread i was like "Is he insane? Does he have the time?"
But i'm glad to know that you're not, and you're doing it for both us GSM and CDMA.
Kudos!
Just thought I would mention that the only difference between the GSM and CDMA seems to be a few libs and a few build.prop edits
WOO! Thanks meter 500! Thanks!
Okay, so maybe it isn't as simple as I thought. But I am still working on it, and should have something done by today.
Even if I can't get the 2.3.4 ported to the R800x, I can do something else, but thats only if, I probably will be able to do something.
Can someone get me an R800x /system dump?

Best possible way to to do this (on your own) is get the original ftf, extract everything from it as a zip, use sin2img to convert the system.sin file to system.img & then use unyaffs to extract the /system folder from the system.img.

cheers.
might have to ship the CDMA version with 2.3.3, because I have been reading around and it has been said that the .145 kernel and rom are the only ones compatible with both GSM and CDMA
But still, I can try and get you some stuff for it, if I have to use the .145 as a base.
Keiran
Edit:
Seems that the 2.3.3 verizon stuff isn't quite compatible with the 2.3.4 stuff, either that or I just can't get it right...
Going to try a .145 base android 2.3.3 for the CDMA model, sorry peeps, shouldn't have got your hopes up..
But still, it is another ROM Maybe I can make some themes for it too, to help drown your sorrows?
Right, so someone is VERY determined to stop me from even creating a 2.3.3 version, because, I can not find the 2.3.3 R 3.0.1.A.0.145 FTF anywhere....
I was thinking, maybe I could base my version of this ROM on sharks UK rom? Because I am about to do what he did anyway
Ideas?

Edit. nvm, got the FTF now
Edit2:
Ooh ****....
crapped up my updater-script and it backed out right in the middle of flashing /system, so I adb shelled and cd'ed into system then did rm -r / , I forgot that / stands for root and not the directory that you are currently in, luckily, I only had my sdcard and my system mounted, my SD needed a good format anyway and I was going to format my sys to install the rom.
thank god for not mounting data partitions :O

Tried to run this, but I can't even get into it. As soon as the phone boots, I get phone force-closing over and over, ad infinitum. I can do nothing else but hit OK on the FC message, and another one immediately pops up.
I'll take a look at phone fc when I get home. A logcat would help much, because it is working for gsm devices.

Update: Werp. After giving it a little while to "recover" from being a fresh install, it seems to have greatly sped itself up. Faster than 4.1, it seems to me. Could just be butt dyno, but 4.2 really does feel snappier.

Update: Werp. After giving it a little while to "recover" from being a fresh install, it seems to have greatly sped itself up. Faster than 4.1, it seems to me. Could just be butt dyno, but 4.2 really does feel snappier.

Did you enable traces, force gpu rendering or disable HW overlays in the developer options?
It seems developer options are hidden in 4.2. Where'd they go?
Seeing a few new features like daydream and zooming in on the homescreen and within apps as well. Any news of a 4.2 compatible kernel?

[WIP][UNOFFICIAL][ProtoU]ParanoidAndroid 2.99 port from One V[23/12/2012]

Ok, guys here's the link of the ParanoidAndroid ROM i have been trying to port from One V. I have the permission from 1ceb0x.
LINK: http://d-h.st/Rkj
Gapps: http://d-h.st/ul6
Thanks to 1ceb0x, for giving me permission to use his ROM, and Lloir for his CM9 base...
How to flash:
1. take a nandroid backup.
2. wipe cache and data
3. go to fastboot mode and connect your phone to pc
4. place system.img in the same directory as fastboot
5.open command line (terminal) and go to your fastboot directory
6. type fastboot flash system system.img
7. reboot
We really need stable 4.1 AOSP for me to continue working on this. Waiting.
Changelog
Code:
0.1-----Initial build
0.2-----Used Lloir's vendor and device trees, tweaked build.prop, removed hTC crap
0.3-----Rebased, now using Lloir's CM9. Also, link is now on Dev-Host.
0.4-----Fixed updater-script.
0.5-----Now ROM packed in system.img

Thanks to 1ceb0x, for giving me permission to use his ROM, and infernal77, for making a 1.18 software base...
Test this for me guys and I'm not responsible if anything happens to your device.
Good luck!

Cool! , just one problem dude you used the HTC Desire X Sense 1.18 as a base which is impossible since you need AOSP, AOKP, CM10 or any other Jellybean ROM for the Desire X as a base for this to boot , or am I wrong? but anyway testing

Ok, don't know what I did wrong, it's "adb logcat >logcat.txt" when you reboot out of recovery after flashing, right ?
edit: Ok, here's what I did second time : full wipe, flash the rom and google apps, then opened my platform-tools folder and typed "adb logcat -v long >logcat.txt" which gave me this : https://www.dropbox.com/s/gszb1ked7e8yjky/logcat.txt
Like first try, the phone hangs during boot, with HTC logo

Um, I'm not sure if I'll be able to, I've been trying to get an angle on how all this stuff works and I get the basics but when I look at github, it's like Chinese to me (or Taiwanese, since its HTC). I've looked at countless guides to port CM9, set up VMWare and Ubuntu 10 but it's a steep learning curve. Last month I maxed out our bandwidth (100 gig) trying to set up a local mirror for the source, which kind of defeated the purpose

Source of cm9 is 7gb including all proto device trees .you need an extra 15 gb just for building. I'll help you set all things up, you just have to put in some effort and time....My build from source is ready. Uploading.

OK, back to topic, I'll test stereo's new one, this is his thread
Yasir, why not make a joint thread by anyone here that wants to participate in getting a CM9 to the DX ?
"Project DX" or something, hopefully there's as many people showing up to the party as in Project X (the movie) lol
when you do logcats let it run for about 5minutes -.- also for status 7 just do a recovery log (go to report error under advanced) and put it here i'll check back later

Awesome. Take it from me folks... don't let your phone fall to the ground and crack your screen. I'm stuck with SafeStrap now and can only live vicariously through threads like these! Great work!
Awesome! GPS has never worked for me on international based ported ROMs, at least on 4.1.2. I mean I've never gotten a lock. If it can be fixed, you guys can do it. Thanks for this. Can't wait to see where this goes. Am certain Verizon will take their sweet time releasing kit kat.

This looks very tasty. I was wondering when we would get some 4.4 tw. Now if we could get Scooby and Steven to team up with you and use some of their coding skills
Thanks for your efforts.

No. I was simply saying they nailed the 4.3 Att port. Maybe with some help from a team effort we could have some of the other functions such as MMS/SMS/GPS working.

not to take away from what those 2 have done, but they took over 4.3 from LA18 and runandhide. those 2 are the ones who ported 4.3 to the verizon note 2

That should work. Just remember that you will need to flash back your stock kernel for the stock rom slot if you need to boot it back up.
