So I'm using my old Infuse car dock for the SIII. It has USB plugin along with a 3.5mm audio jack. It's not using the headphone jack. It piggybacks the 3.5mm audio out of the USB.
Anyways, I have not yet figured out how to get both bluetooth and the usb/3.5mm audio working at the same time.
Music works great coming out off the 3.5mm audio to my car stereo. But then I can't use my bluetooth microphone at the same time?
So if I want to take a call, I have to remove the phone from the dock and answer it the old fashioned way.

My Vario II justification to the misses was that we'd be able to listen to music in the car with it (our CD player is dead).

I bought a SONY MEX5000 BT stereo that uses Bluetooth streaming. It is so cool! much better quality(sound) then the radio ones. I dont carry CDs anymore just everything over BT with MP3s.

It is a bluetooth Stereo Headset which you can listen to MP3 played from Tytn.
It is also a standalone FM Radio by itself without the Tytn at all.

You are refering to Home Stereo Hi-Fi Amplifier/Receiver to speakers. Well it is something I was thinking about some years ago when I first read the white paper on Bluetooth v2.0 A2DP Profile.
But Hi-Fi industry in term of following latest trend is normally a little slower than the computer & mobile industry. So far, not that I know of that there is a build in Bluetooth Hi-Fi system including speakers. Maybe it is time to do a google on this topic, it would be good if there is such solution to get rid of the messy wire connections.
I do know that there is such thing as Bluetooth Donger, which is a bluetooth device with a headphone jack and you can plug the headphone jack into the Hi-Fi headphone jack and bingo you have wireless music with you wireless headphone, but bluetooth is quite subject to surrounding interfence, so you may have broken music in your ears.
The is also some not so good old technology using Infra-Red. The better ones are the wireless headphone sets using RF frequency which you can listen to music even you and your hi-fi are in different room.

check out the I-Tech S35 clip. A2DP receiver with a 5mm headset jack. You can cable this to your car with an adaptor cable. The I-Tech doesn't skip either!

I've not used it myself for this purpose. I've no doubt that it will work though. What I am interested in is the usable range. The applicaton I have in mind will require 4-5 meter range from the I-Tech device to my TyTN.

Ok, you are talking about car hi-fi system, the speaker looks good.
For Home hi-fi system, maybe there isn't bluetooth audiophile speaker yet.
For the car hi-fi system, there are some with the audio output (the Left - Right or White - Red cable build-in type audio output cable). Buy another cable adaptor (Left - Right/White - Red to stereo headphone cable) and the Bluetooth Donger, connect them up and you will have the audio on you bluetooth speaker. Hope this works!

Well, I answered my own question today. iPhone headset plays back audio, phone calls, but the mic does not work.
So we're still left with the question: what headset will work?
i am using HTC RC E100 as headphone adapter. It's remote controller with 3,5mm jack on it... pretty cool thinngy but with pretty ****y cable (
ditto the HTC E100. Controls plus mic. I soldered a pair of etymotics drivers onto a shorty 6" cable that allows me use with the TP2 (via the E100) or my ipod (via a headphone extension).
I purchased the official Atrix car dock about a month ago before going on vacation. The dock has worked great and was indispensable for using the navigation in our rental car.
But the audio connection on the USB power cable has never worked for providing any audio from the device. My Bluetooth was disabled, but no audio (of any kind - music, calls, etc) has ever come out of the line out/headphone connection on the car dock cable. The only way I can get audio to the car is by connecting the cable to the headphone jack on the phone itself.
I've done a lot of searches for people who have had this issue, and the one or two instances I found have not provided me a solution.
I recently remembered that the multimedia dock I purchased also has a headphone jack on it, so I tried to see if this output works the way it's supposed to. I started playing music through the internal speaker, then connected some headphones to the output jack on the dock. The music immediately stopped coming out of the internal speaker and was audible on the headphones. Disconnecting the headphones sent the audio back to the internal speaker.
So it seems that the USB audio on the phone works and can re-direct audio to the dock audio jack when it's available. But the car dock audio jack still does not function. Do I have a bad car dock? Should I send it back, or is there something else I should try?
Sounds to me, like either your dock or cable coming out of dock is no good. My car dock throws audio out of connection on usb plug with no issue.

I have the official Samsung cardock, and connected it to my car radio (the cardock has a 3.5mm jack output). Nice, now I can listen to the music on my phone over my carspeakers!
BUT:
Whenever I make or receive a call, the sound of the conversation keeps channeling through the phone's own external speaker. Disabling the phone's external speaker (either during the call or beforehand) does not fix it. It just néver get's through the 3.5mm jack output to my car stereo. Annoying, since my car is pretty loud when speeding.
[Q]How to channel the audio of a voicecall to the jack-output? Does anybody know of a fix for this? I have looked around-and-around-and-around, and have asked this before. Just can't believe I'm the only-one that is bothered by this!

I have a std aux input into my car stereo. Plugging a stereo 3.5 lead from the phone jack into the stereo aux I can listen to all sounds from the phone over all car speakers including calls... Just like when a headset is connected. Calls go over car speakers and phone mic picks up voice.
It would seem then that its the official samsung dock being treated different to a simple direct lead connection.
My only gripe is during calls the phones mic works but thinks its on a std call and is a bit weak. Wish I could force the mic into speakerphone mode or the levels associated with that mode anyway. Btw... Turning on speakerphone while lead is connected stops the output over the speakers.
I have a trrs mic / stereo splitter adapter and a seperate car 3.5 mic but again the mic levels on the phone in headset mode need boosting.

Hmm... So maybe if I use a splitter to merge the signal from both the cardock AND the phonejack...

Just note I do not 'need' the splitter to make it work. Without a splitter it works just fine using car speakers and the phones mic (as the aux lead is std audio lead only - not including the third ring position for the mic).
I just got the splitter to use a seperate external mic in the car. The splitter simply has all 3 rings to make phone think its a full headset connected like the set that comes in the box with the phone and splits audio and mic into 2 seperate connections. This way I then take the std aux lead from the audio split to the stereo for listening over the car speakers and use the mic split for plugging in any std 3.5 external mic.

I understood that, it's just that I would probably need a splitter in my specific situation, since all my music gets played through the cardock by default as soon as I plug in the phone... It's possible to disable this automatic switch of audiorouting when the phone get's plugged in though, but somehow it just doesn't feel right to NOT use the audio-out feature of the cardock
I've had the S21 for a few days and I've been using it in my aux-only car with a 3.5mm dongle. When I activate google assistant, it doesn't use the phone's microphones because it's trying to use a nonexistent auxiliary microphone.
Is there any way to force it to use the builtin mics while using an aux dongle?
I don't know of any way, but a workaround might be to use something like this gadget, I use this in our old Acura which only has an aux-in. This little device has a built-in mic.
