You can install Feralab V20 even with a locked bootloader...
But if you want it unlocked? Please follow instructions from this thread.

I already had the answer lol
There's no way to delete recovery for unlocked bootloaders as recoveries on ulbl are directly in the kernel and not on the system or anywhere on phone partition.

I have a doubt... what happen if you relock your bootloader while on an unlocked bootloader rom (like ferabab v20) ? will it still boot up?

is it also possible to disable the phone from entering flashmode on either locked or unlocked bootlaoder?
i dont want ppl to steal my phone and flash over it to use as their own ?
i mean how to disable flash using computer (eg. SEUS, flashtool) not disable recovery?
pls tell me. thx.

Root your sisters phone and unlock the bootloader then flash the kernel,Wifi and all other things required and once you installed the ROM lock the bootloader using flashtool, that would do the trick.. having CWM is a safe option as anything goes wrong its easy to fix using CWM right..

did unlocking bootloader kill my phone?

ok so i used the tool to check see if i could unlock my boot loader, which said i had the semc certificate so i could proceed,
i then unlocked my bootloader , instaled custom kernel from doomlord, now my phone only makes emergency calls someone did mention about if it wasnt unlocked properly , it would lose my radio, so it would seem this is what has happened,
now my question is, how do i sort it any advice is greatly apreciated, i have tried multiple roms, kernels,
thanks andy

ask the laser, I'm pretty sure he said the only way to fix it its to pay and use setool though
my phone was unlocked, and the bootloader test tool said it had the semc certificate,

Try flash 2.1 and maybe try unlocking bl again, my bb was unknown after I unlocked my bl and that's what I did, so back to stock 2.1, than root, install xrec unlock bl,and than go from there.... hope you get it fixed

This really isnt a thread that belongs in development. You also failed to mention the method above, will delete the devices DRM certificates for good, they will loose the abilty to use track id and sony music and video store forever.

it kinda is, you just include a link to the bootloader relock thread. that's all that's different. kudos for trying to be helpful, i just personally find this thread as a means to boost your thanks meter..
edit: and i also feel the topic is misleading. upon reading it, it sounds like you have a new method of rooting the new firmware, without unlocking the bootloader at all. which for many people with branded phones, will be horribly shot down to see that, yet again, they need to enable fastboot to do something they have probably already read else where (probably on the linked pages you provided)
if i do this and keep my boot loader locked, will trackID still work? And SE updates?

No you can't do this, hence you have to unlock your bootloader in the process to gain root with his tut and you'll loose trackID (DRM) and it won't come back even when you relock it.
You can root without unlocking bootloader on the newest FW 4.0.1.A.0.283 in another way. Check out the dev section for more info

yes , you can root on 2.3.4 by OTA update , but i think the generic UK still not released .
when you unlock your phone , you can't recieve and use SEUS anymore , but if relock your phone , you can use it during update/repair without any problem .

Careful buddy u gonna mess ur phone up. U have no reason to downgrade kernel now flashtool can do it all on 2.3.3. If u unlocked successfully then it will still be unlocked unless u relock it yourself (flashing new Rom/changing kernel etc will not relock it). Refer to various guides on bl unlock but be careful. That sounds like a recipe for disaster pal. (if u need help pm me but it sleep time for me now so it'll b tomoz)

[U] Root/Unlock Xperia U Qs

Hi!
I have an Xperia U ICS flashed using flashtool. Unrooted and Locked. I do want to root/unlock, I just had a few questions first.
- Can I root my phone WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader?.. as I heard that unlocking ones bootloader is risky and can damage the phone.
I really have no idea as to how to root a phone as I'm totally new to droid ( 1st android phone ) ! So it would be really helpful if someone at least posted a link(s) for a tutorial. (The right tutorial for a newbie! ) If possible, I want to root my phone WITHOUT unlocking the bootloader.
- What is the difference between Root with Locked bootloader & Root with Unlocked bootloader?
And regarding ROMs, I also heard that custom ROMs are really much better than the stock ones, So If anyone could help me choosing the best ROM for my Xperia U would be helpful too. Also a tutorial link as to how to install a custom ROM. User reviews would be real helpful here, People who have custom Xperia U ROMs, HELP!
Help out guys
P.S I know there are tutorials out there, I just don't know which one to follow.
Just follow the instructions here to root your phone :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
And then install cmw for your phone to install custom ROM'S

Yes you can root your phone without locking the bootloader, when you unlock the bootloader you void your warranty. A locked bootloader doesnt void your warranty, but doesnt allow you to be able to flash all custom roms, some need an unlocked bootloader to work. Cannot help you with guides because i use the Xperia P, good luck though.

Hi bro, why and how did you restore your bootloader? Seem lots of similar cases
Try to unlock again. And try to reflash Stock Rom with SEUS. You don't have to relock bootloader to flash Stock Rom, in what guide, which you follow, you read that?

Nope, donut HD can be flashed on locked/unlocked bootloader, u should know this.
The reason why i asked u how is : some users relock
their bootloader improperly, and it could brick the phone permanently.

Flash stock rom using flash tool. If you can't get flash mode in normal way try this. Take off battery, connect USB to phone, pc, hold back button, insert battery. Good luck.

I'm really glad to heared that bro .
To unlock and restore our bootloader we need to
refert to Stock Rom and Kernel ( Official stock),
This is really safe and eassiest way, btw we absolutely no need to restore our bootloader unless for warranty purpose.
