haha. Yep.

My best friend has the s3 and I have the note. I personally do more with rooting and stuff and my note has the features his does and some his doesn't so I like mine....the s3 on the other hand has a cool look but the note grabs more peoples attention....the s pen is bad ass as well...I'm bias though because of me owning the note...
Go to phonescoop.com and check out the specs...

Returned my white SR for Galaxy S2 yesterday. Its such a great device! I'm so happy I did. I have a lot of reading to on this device. I'm sure I'll learn a lot from this forum

Kind of a pointless thread as you know exactly what you need to do

[Q] Galaxy Note.. buy or not?

Done all the research and speculation seems to be there will be a hardware upgrade to the Note, maybe the Galaxy Note 2.. buying a Note still seems good. Jelly Bean is more for tablets I hear..
So would buying a Note be okay? Or will I regret it?
I know I could just get a S3 but the Notes' screen is nice. I like it, outta personal preference.
You know the s3 comes out soon right?
Imo, will make the note not worth the money.

Go for S3! There won't be S4 anytime soon, so... There won't be a better phone any time soon, so, until then S3 will be the best phone in the world!! (Just like the S2, two years in a row!)

If u have a galaxy s2 . i dont think u should upgrade to galaxy s3
because there isnt that many new feature in it that is worth the upgrade
the galaxy s2 is a great phone and it will suit your needs for another year
so stick with s2 till s4
trust me i had s2 and i went for s3 and i didnt find that many new stuff that was worth the upgrade
The main improvements over the S2 for me are much better screen, call quality (clarity and no echo), hugely improved audio (even better than S1 thanks to siyah audio tweaks) and much much better battery life. Plus an improvement in looks IMO.

Keep the s2. Best phone with minor things missing which can be ported from s3.

I've had my S3 for 2 days now having upgraded from S2 and to be honest so far I think my S2 was better. I was running wajk miui on my S2 and it was great. running stock on the S3 at the moment but i'm finding lots of little bugs. motion to put your hand over the screen to stop media doesn't work, s-voice is pretty crap and it doesn't seem anywhere near as fast as my S2.
Having said all that I'm going to persevere with it and try different roms til I find one that makes it run much better.

Personally, right now if I had the choice of SGS3 and Note 2 I'd go for the note. Faster CPU and more RAM, bigger screen, battery and S-Pen.
Wait for the Galaxy Note 2 if you can put up with the huge screen (in some cases it's the bigger the better but that screen is a little too big for my liking)

I think all this options like S-voice and smart stay and motion things are only for advertising
I never used my motion thing for my s 2

What does GT stand for in GT-i9300?

Loving my new S3. My first Samsung phone and liking it. In my analness in knowing all about my device anyone know this little tid bit? Does it date back to old models or have a Korean relation?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
Obviously gt-i means grand theft iPhone and is the most prominent clue to Samsung shamelessly ripping off Apple's products.
GT-i9300 means it's the 9.3 thousand's attempt to copy the iDevice.
</irony>
Sorry I have no clue what it means but that's the first thing that came to mind =)
Samsung has been using it for quite a while now. It probably means Galaxy [something]

GT a fairly common add on to any product brands to make it appear more faster or exclusive .
GT Grand Tourisimo as used to describe the early Touring Cars .
GTI added by marketing guys to standard cars to make them appealing to the boy racer go faster brigade .
jje
Yeah I thought it might be Grand Touring related but couldn't be sure. Turismo is a Japanese twist on the naming I think you mean there.
According to a quick search the I is capitalised officially. You're probably right, they went with the nice car sounding performance tag.
Or perhaps with conjecture it's Galaxy Tourer - Eye (because it sounds nice) 9300! (it's over 9000!)
Not really original then though. Then again the Koreans are just good copycats with good innovation over the top, like the economic rise of post war Japan.

What is this "karnel" of which you speak? Sounds rather indubitably evil, my good sir!
Samsung handset prefixes... explained.
Galaxy S III - International
GT-I9300
GT=Galaxy Telephone (In the case of Galaxy Tabs, do the math yourself.)
Galaxy S III - AT&T
SGH-I747
SGH=Samsung GSM Handset
Galaxy S III - T-Mobile
SGH-T999
SGH=Samsung GSM Handset
Galaxy S III - Sprint
SPH-L710
SPH=Samsung PCS Handset (A holdover from Sprint's PCS days. Never bothered to change it.)
Galaxy S III - Verizon
SCH-I535
SCH=Samsung CDMA Handset
I hope this has been informative.

I would prefer note 2. Note 1 has basically the same innards as s2 except the size. If buying new, buy a stronger beast..
SII is quite good enough. If I were you, I would stick with SII.
Note 2 is a much better option than the original note. If you can afford it, then Note 2 is the way. It's much better than S2 and the original Note combined together.
If u could afford the note2 i would have the s3. I wiuld have tge 4s but i dnt like how limited the software is.
