I want to know if i could swap out the sense lockscreen for the jelly bean lockscreen or would i just have to use a launcher.

Are you referring to a wallpaper for your phone? Or for your computer?

What is swipe effect?
As far as I know there only ink and ripple effects for S3 in theme section.
Besides these 2, others are ported from other phone like Xperia Z, HTC sense... etc
