ICS Official changes - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Ok folks, what Im going to do here is go through some of the major things I have noticed since installing the official ICS but before I do that, let me give my two sentence review.
Its nice. If you are wondering what the Note SHOULD have performed like on launch, this is it. MUCH improved scrolling, better performance and slightly more aggressive app handling.
Ok, I lied, three sentences.
Changes:
NOTE that I will NOT be covering changes to the launcher portion of ICS.
1. Overall performance is better. Using Go Launcher, with the app drawer set to 6x6, it scrolls MUCH more smoothly. The market scrolls much smoother, settings, the same. It isnt 'butter' but it is much more acceptable now, not stuttering to the point of overshooting apps.
2. Notifications menu now has two new toggles - Flight Mode and Power Savings. There is now also a fast Settings button that will take you straight into the Android Settings app.
3. The power menu (long pressing your screen on/power button) has had accessibility moved to the top of the menu (if you had this enabled) and now has a 'Reboot phone' option (YAY!!)
4. ALL system apps that CAN be linked to the market are now correctly linked. This means your list of installed apps will be a bit longer (when looking in the play store list) and also means that these apps will be able to be updated without manually searching for each one by one.
5. There are obvious signs of the original UI ICS all over the place, notably the spinning circle but you'll see it everywhere.
6. Improved battery life, for the amount I have used the phone, its at a much higher percentage than it normally would have been.
One quick point to interject, apps can now be disabled

I know this worked on some of the ICS roms, so I just looked and verified that even though you cannot uninstall some of the bloat (without root), you can disable it . For example, I can disable Swype and install Swype Beta now. I hate AT&T Navigator, so I disabled it. If it cannot be uninstalled, disable it.

Here are a few more that I just disabled, thanks for this tip
AT&T Navigator
Email (I use the gmail app)
Google+
Now. the rest of this is the stuff under settings. Im going to cover what I recognize to be new.
Under Settings:
First off, you'll notice that everything is now categorized into different groups now, making finding things in Settings a bit easier.
Wireless and Network
Tapping on Wifi or Bluetooth now takes you to the screens to configure the advanced settings for these features. Tapping 'On/Off' on the right side enables or disables the radios.
Data Usage
Here is where you can set up your billing cycle dates and put hard caps on your PHONE to keep your data usage under what your carrier allows. Fairly straight forward but make sure you set your billing date up correctly or this will be of NO use.
More
Here you will find NFC (YAY), Android Beam (send data between two devices using NFC), and Wifi Direct (connect two devices with a wifi antenna without the need for a router/hub).
Device
Call
Nothing new here, just a few things moved around a bit.
Sound
Again, nothing new, just shuffled a bit to make things easier to get to. Note that the menu button now no longer brings up any advanced settings here, they are all accessible by navigating the screen options.
Display
A few things moved around a bit BUT a new feature, Show battery percentage in notifications bar. NICE Also, Gyroscope Calibration is now an option.
Power Saving
Unchanged
Storage
Prettier but unchanged, a little bit more information but not much.
Battery
Unchanged
Applications
Unchanged, tho it should be noted that you can hit your menu button while in this screen to sort the list by Size
Personal
Accounts and Sync
Unchanged
Location Services
Unchanged
Security
Big one here but this is where you will find face unlock and even a voice recognition feature that can I believe be used in conjunction with another method to unlock your phone. I havent had much time to look at it yet.
Language and Input
Largely unchanged but its a bit more intuitive to change your keyboard now. And, for an interesting 'feature' that Samsung forgot to disable, Pointer speed, which has NO effect on our phone, this option is only for phones with a trackpad (Samsung forgot to disable this - made me smile).
Back up and reset
Nice, this option used to be buried under privacy and is now brought out into the main settings list. Much easier to find, it
System
Dock
Unchanged
Pen Settings
New option, Hovering pen icon (shows a pen icon over the screen where the pen is hovering)
One Handed Operation
3 completely new settings, to configure the calculator, dialer, and unlock pattern to be configured for use with one hand (clumps everything on one side of the screen so that you can say dial numbers with just your thumb rather than the usual having to hold the phone with one hand and dial with your other).
Date and Time
Unchanged
Accessibility
Two new options, Speak passwords. Havent had time to check to see if this works for unlocking the phone as well, but if it does, that would be silly. Tap and Hold delay can now be configured as well as allowing or disallowing the installation of web scripts.
Motion
New option, Double Tap to allow voice dictation easily. Sweet
Developer Options
Several new things you can make visible for the nerdy types but Im not going to cover them here since they are really only for developers .
About Phone
Unchanged
Ok, that should give you an idea of what to look for, if someone else wants to cover the touchwiz stuff (adding or removing widgets/icons/homescreens) I can add it.
Also, if there is anything I missed or got wrong...

Ok, one more new thing, the phone now charges correctly off your USB port, ie. charges faster.

Awesome write up! Do you have any idea how -- or if -- we can add app shortcuts to the lockscreen like the SGSIII?
PS: I have Widgetlocker but would prefer to use the system for this if possible.

Under Settings Developer Options you have the ability to adjust the Window Animation scale and also Transition Animation Scale.
When I set these to 0 then launchers like Go launcher behave much quicker.

My understanding is, one of the major improvements made to ICS is the ability to offload some of the processing to the processor / gpu depending on current load - ie. cpu is extremely busy at the moment so offload some processing to the gpu (or vice versa). Enabling this option I believe forces the gpu to handle everything regardless of the state of the cpu.
Reports have claimed enabling this option has mixed results. If the app supports gpu acceleration, you will see better performance. If it doesnt, the app will actually have worse performance and may actually crash the app in some rare cases. All ICS updated apps support this and chances are, if the software you have on your Note has been updated to support ICS, you have no issues.
So, the advice from the streets is to either keep is disabled and pretend you didnt see it or enable it and keep in the back of your mind that you might need to disable it occasionally for certain apps. The performance improvement is supposedly pretty minimal.

Yea, there are a couple of negatives about this however. Any native Android apps will loose some of the fancy 'little' touches (for example fading when going from one screen to another in settings). Some have reported however a small improvement in battery life doing this so its up to you. Persoinally, performance wise, I didnt notice anything differently with these set to 0. But then again, I have only one homescreen.

One other note, I just got off a 2.5 hour phone call from a full charge. Ended the call with 70% battery left. This is a HUGE improvement over GB where I likely would have been around 50% left.

not really usefull but in about phone, if you tap the android version a bunch of times you get a 8bit android in a icecream sammich.
also after the update I have no more black crush!!!

I am sorry to tell you that you are incorrect. Here is information about that toggle and other android graphics issues straight from the woman who designed the OS.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...I-C08yEO63mvHG6BQ&sig2=bamQd77PjEBd050c6s96EQ
TLDR:
Before ICS, android used the GPU to accelerate the animations of the windows, but it left the choice of how to render graphics inside the windows to the app developer. What the toggle does, is to force GPU rendering inside the windows, even if the app did not ask for it. There are two downsides to this forced rendering. The forced rendering can break compatibility. It can also increase memory usage unnecessarily.

bwwaahhhaaaa.... sorry but when I opened this thread it landed on you post.... and I read it out of context

Just received an email from Samsung saying to upgrade to ICS (did it via kies when 1st available). The email stated there is a newly introduced "Desktop View". This is for the default web browser.....
If you want to switch to "Desktop" browser mode, bring up the settings and select "Desktop view". So now its easier to switch between mobile and desktop browser modes.
Before you had to do "about:useragent"

[APP][Market link] TouchScreenTune (Solving touchscreen sensitivity issue)-UPDATED_2!

Now on Market!
direct link
Or search for "TouchScreenTune"
*Requires Root*
*Currently supports Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Asus Transformer Prime*. (Galaxy Note version also available on the Market)
TouchScreenTune application allows you to fine-tune settings of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 touchscreen.
It allows to dramatically improve responsiveness and sensitivity of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 touchscreen.
Without this application, it is almost impossible to use Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for handwriting or drawing. Application completely fixes this issue.
If you are using screen protector on your Tab, the application will allow to raise screen sensitivity, so there will be no responsiveness impact from using screen protector.
If you are using stylus, it is almost useless without tuning touchscreen with this application on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Using this application you can even turn on palm rejection future! That means that your hand can rest on screen while writing/drawing using stylus, but you will still be able to write since touch events from your palm will be ignored.
Just see youtube video, it shows how Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 works without this application, and with this application!
If you wish to use different settings in different situations - just create shortcuts with different settings from within the app, and launch them when needed!
Some common problems:
When first starting there should be popup from SuperUser application with request to get Root access. Some people say that sometimes it doesn't appear. In that case try starting the SU program first, and then this application.
Also when first granting SU rights, there may be some messages regarding inability to read settings. It's normal, after you grant SU rights application should work.
--------------------------------------------------
What's new
Version 1.17:
Compatibility with latest CyanogenMod for Tab 10.1
Fixed bug when parameters were not applied after invoking settings via shortcut on the home screen
Version 1.11:
Added ability to create shortcuts on the home screen. Shortcut is associated with currently applied settings. When clicked, shortcut will immediately apply them, without starting TouchScreenTune application. It is possible to have multiple shortcuts with different settings.
Version 1.8:
Annoying notifications from SU removed
Version 1.3:
PALM REJECTION:
added slider allowing to turn on palm rejection. That means that you hand can rest on screen while writing using stylus, but you will still be able to write since touch events from your palm will be ignored. Set palm detection slider value to 0 or maybe a bit more like 1-10 to enable this functionality.
added advanced parameter: changing movement filter OFF value. This value is sent to touchscreen controller when checkbox is set to CHECKED. After changing it, press Apply button to set new configuration.
Version 1.1:
Added compatibility with latest custom roms/kernels
Solves screen freezing issue after turning screen on when using latest custom kernels/ROMs
Version 1.0:
Added ability to change sensitivity, move filtering ant initial movement at the same time
Completely new Honeycomb interface
Reworked service part - should work without FCs
Way easier to use
New icon !!111
Application is free but it will not restore settings on screen lock/unlock. To make it fully functional you need registration key, which I can provide for a small donation, details in the app itself.
(If you already donated for previous version, send me an email, I'll send registration key for free)

Testing....works very well with the issues I was having with games.....controls better.
Btw I am using right now advanced setting TCHTHR=28 and move hyst=0 and like sensitivity of scrolling in browser very much. Please share your advanced settings - maybe you have found some good options? But remember to turn off service when experimenting wih adv settings
multi-touch tester is very cool... however i dont know what the advance setting means.. so im just applying your settings...
Awesome! Installed and testing now, just wish I had my stylus with me today at work.
Anyone have any suggestions as to which advanced settings to mess with, besides BLEN and TCHTHR?
i disable the service, change TCHTHR=28, and click apply, and enable service again. when i go to blen and return back to TCHTHR it went back to 48. why is it not 28? how to apply the setting?
ill be sure to check it out when i get home. Although my screen is very responsive using In Paris V5 and a riego kernel.

Yeah thats the limitation of the app - it keeps no more than 2 parameters - move hist and one of the advanced params you have chosen. Not really sure that somebody needs more than that.
Very much an improvement, stylus is still garbage tho. My adonit jot pro still can't be used because the screen captures far too few touch events.

Hi,
i saw people mentioning a build.prop setting named windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec, which is set to 150 by default on the 7500. I've changed that to 300, and it appears to make things snappier, especially scrolling operations. I finally got close to iPad2's responsiveness with this. But there might also be other factors involved...

ICS 4.0.3 Leak Bugs/Application Problem List

Let's keep track of bugs and "gotcha's" that we find in the ICS leak or any apps that have problems with the ICS leak.
Bugs/Problems [Updated 4/5/2012]
TwLauncher crashes almost immediately after install (Crashes seem to stop after using the phone for a bit. Possible Workarounds: factory reset; re-flash ROM again)
Some applications seem to lag worse than on GB, noticeable scroll and transition studder
Black crush issue still exists but was "addressed" (test image with 1-21 blocks, on GB it dropped to black on "1", on ICS it drops to black on "7" and it's still not gradual)
Noticeable grey-to-black banding, transition is not gradual
SetCPU appears to default to 1.2GHz as the max speed
Embedded youtube videos in the stock browser don't work
Contacts tab is no longer in Phone dialer (Contacts is now found by pressing the Menu button in the Phone dialer)
Left handed SPen does not work
Battery life is questionable
Quick view option in stock camera crashes when deleting a photo.
Hovering pen icon in Pen Options doesn't seem to do anything
Build.prop, dalvik.vm.heapsize is defined twice (64m and 256m), not sure which takes priority but GB was 128m
All browsers crash when accessing any government website when it asks if you approve of there cert
Shutdown and restart hang
SMS app stops working for some, MMS not working
Email accounts, can't use multiple with the same name before the @ symbol even with different domains
Stock camera cuts left side of pictures
Email doesn't show unread email count
Application Problems [Updated 4/4/2012]
Nova Launcher/Apex Launcher works but can't add widgets due to "Not enough space on this Home page" (The widgets are actually 6 columns wide. Workaround: Nova Settings > Behavior > Enable Resize all widgets, then go to Desktop > Desktop Grid > Set columns to 6, add widget to the home page, resize the widget to take up only 5 columns, go back to Desktop > Desktop Grid > Set columns to 5)
AT&T Visual Voicemail crashes on open (Workaround: see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24451275)
Instagram camera causes reboots after taking a picture
HMA VPN Pro does not connect

K9 Mail, swipe to delete selects the email below
Other/Nice-To-Have's [Updated 4/4/2012]
RAM available is now 624MB instead of 733MB on GB
No android or swype keyboards
Some apps are now renderring in "phone" mode (Amazon AppStore)
Adobe Flash Player not installed by default
AT&T default "Marimba" ringtone is missing
(to be updated as bugs are discovered)
Launcher stops crashing if you flash it again that's what i did.

Force GPU rendering
Enabling "Force GPU rendering" seems to make the phone unstable.
Mine is actually perfect at least no problems so far...

EASY way to instantly exit current app?

...and I don't mean 'minmize' like what pressing the home or back button does. (which merely puts it in the multitasker menu list, still open.)
I mean closing it like when you swipe it out of the menu list. (which are far as I can tell, seems to close it off enough to stop what it's doing and free up the memory it was using!)
Sometimes I want to just close an app since I know I won't be using it for a while and I want to conserve cpu/memory/battery - or merely manage the list of things in my multitask list. kinda like on Desktop. (you don't want every app on your pc open all at once, do you, do you?!) and I just want a simple way like on the desktop to close that app when I want to close it.
SO: Is there some app that can assign a custom screen gesture (like the lovely letter C for 'close') to perform 'fully exit current app' or some solution like that? I started to research, but couldn't seem to find one very quickly, so thought I'd ask here, at THE place to ask.
also I apologise for using things like Windows terms ('minimize'), i know that's not how it works in android. But you do know what I mean.
Thanks
This is a question that a lot of people ask when moving to Android and the answer simply is, forget about it.
Android handles processes and memory in a completely different way to Windows. When an app is "minimized" it obviously leaves a footprint in the memory, but it uses no CPU (unless it's a polling app or something that keeps alive for a specific purpose).
Just trust Android to handle memory management - it does a very good job of it.
If you really, really MUST do something about it then the best thing you can do is get something like Juice Defender (there's tons of similar apps) and make it kill apps periodically. Most apps that people use for this type of purpose are merely placebo, but if it makes you feel better then I guess it's serving a purpose.

Thanks for your answer. I can sense you have wisdom and experience in your words there, but I want to probe a little further.
surely there can be an almost macro-like (again, windows terminology, sorry) functionality, that can be assigned to a gesture swipe that can emulate pressing home button, then swiping the bottom item away from the multitask menu? (which is always the one you just 'minimized')? Could an app like Tasker even do it?
i agree that good memory management is a beautiful thing, but there really should be manual control of closing apps, my reasons above are stated.
i wouldn't touch automatic time-based closing, i sometimes have saved states in apps and wouldn't want them closed when i don't want them closed.
Most apps that people use for this type of purpose are merely placebo, but if it makes you feel better then I guess it's serving a purpose.

you really think it's all placebo, and that say, running 50 apps in android with finite set amount of ram on the device is all fine simply due to memory management?
is me experiencing lag in some android apps (or battery draining faster than I'd like), then closing off several running apps in the multitask list, then noticing the problem go away, all placebo????? what about google maps, say?! I'd love a one-step swipe action to CLOSE google maps when I'm done with it, not having to press home button, then multitask button, then swipe away google maps. (I know when minimized it consumes nothing like it does when open, but I think still it consumes more than if it were fully closed...)
it's not just about memory. edit: and I already stated in addition, I often want to simply manage what I have open. this is a basic function in desktop OSes, I think it's time it came to mobile. if not officially, there surely must be some hack/tool to do it. :S
download a task killer app with a widget.
press home button and press the widget and you're done
If you're using AOKP based ROM then there is hold back to kill in Settings > ROM control > general UI

that's about 2/3 the way towards the current 3-step solution though :/.
Am I to be amazed that a function to put this simple task into a single gesture hasn't been done? or isn't possible? it HAS to be possible. Otherwise I'd be flabbergasted.
I have googled further and just can't seem to find something :|.
WAIT! I think I have! here. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontroldemo&hl=en it has a "kill task" function that you can set up a custom gesture for. it's a start.
however I'm getting a "ERROR! No ROOT permissions?" error despite being rooted with supersu and successfully using other root apps etc, so I've emailed the dev and hope I can get it working :S.
But still, it seems a little clunky the offering of custom gesture types. I can't set a nice curvy gesture defined by tracing it on the screen. oh well - it's a start.....

How useful is the 2nd. screen on the LG V10? What do you use yours for?

Hi
I've been considering the LG V10 and wanted to hear from the XDA community on how useful the 2nd screen actually was. Is the second screen more than a novelty? What do you use yours for? What apps can utilize the 2nd screen? How often do you use the 2nd. screen and how does it effect battery life?Screen caps would be welcome.
It's a useful novelty, I wish they would have bumped up the front facing cameras and gave us the option to have a 5.9 inch screen. Useful for checking time w/out unlocking phone as we as being able to change songs w/out unlocking especially useful while driving
I really enjoy the lack of notification cards on the main screen. The past few phones I've had (Note 5, Nexus 6, S6 Edge) have all had the Lollipop style cards that block way too much of the screen. With this phone, the notifications just go to the secondary screen so you can keep focus on what you're doing but still be able to see it. Also, the music controls have been amazing so far and it makes it so much easier as you don't have to pull the shade or switch apps to change tracks or pause (Noticing a trend here lol?). And finally, I use it for having favorite contacts set up (similar to the only good concept of the edge IMO). Hope this helps, so far I love this phone!
I am loving the second screen and find it very useful.
For shortcuts I have tapatalk, chrome, maps, camera and settings.
I love that it also has the 5 most recent apps. I came from a note 2 and waiting for long press for the recent apps was a pain! Of course this phone has a button for that anyway but I still like having them just sitting up there.
I am also using the contact shortcuts to try to replace my direct dial and text shortcuts I had on my home screens. I'm still trying to get used to that.
I definitely like that the date and time is always showing so I can check without waking the phone.
I also recently discovered that if I swipe over to the left when the main screen is sleeping there are shortcuts for the camera, flashlight, Wi-Fi toggle and sound /vibrate toggle.
I love it.
So far I think I'm using the app shortcuts the most.

BTW guys, not exactly related to the secondary-screen alone but how is the "alt-tab" performance; toggling between recent apps?
Say you cycle between the 5 recent apps; do they pop-up just immediately without any delay and at the exact point where you have left the app? (i.e. a web page doesn't reload, Twitter doesn't refresh like you are opening the app for the first time).
So far I really like the second screen. I keep having an issue where my Hangouts keep showing up as the big banner across the screen (sms seems to show on the secondary though). I also with when the screen was off it would show the whole notification, not just the icon. It would also be nice to choose how long the notification stayed on the second screen. I feel like it pops up and goes away so fast.
I wish the quick contacts could be set as direct dial. I will never use on of those icons to text. I need quick to just dial the primary contacts I have.
Two words: Spotify controls.
Spotify's lock widget was awful, and it always frustrated me that I had to unlock the phone to restart a song. Now I don't even have to turn the lock screen on to do it. This alone made love the second screen.
I thought it might be gimmicky, but I like using it to switch between apps and the music control is nice.

Generally yes, the ram management is very good
I find it useful. Even if u don't plan in using it shouldn't be a bother.
App switching is better, faster since you don't have to flip through cards. I always preferred the old school Android where it just showed the app icons of previous apps
Google Now cards flash with basketball game scores without interrupting whatever I'm doing.
Same with calls. They show up on the second screen.

[MOD][XPOSED]X Screen Stabilizer[23/10/2017][V1.5]

X Screen Stabilizer
ROOT REQUIRED
XPOSED FRAMEWORK REQUIRED
If You don't know What is XPOSED Framework then do not try this application (it wont work)
Have you tried to read a book or an article like this while on a bus or walking down the street? I bet you tried! In this case you should notice that reading text in a such way is not a good idea since the screen constantly shakes. It seems that screen shaking is a big enough issue and eliminating it can promise a good UX. This application uses the device accelerometer sensors to compensate for and smooth out screen content shaking in the same way as DSLR camera stabilizes its sensors/lenses
It uses the concept defined in the below link
no-shake-screen-stabilization-android
but uses a different approach using Xposed Framework
Free : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vivek.xscreenstabilizer
Pro : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vivek.xscreenstabilizer.pro
Xposed repository : http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.vivek.xscreenstabilizer
Parameter Details
Velocity Friction : It is used to adjust the friction of the movement of the screen when walking. If the value is greater, the screen translation will be slower.
Position Friction : It is used to adjust the speed at which the screen tries to adjust to the normal position. If the value is greater, it takes more time to adjust to normal position
Low pass filter alpha : It is used to filter the acceleration force values from the sensor for the smooth positioning of the screen
Velocity Amplification : It is used to amplify the calculated velocity and use it to translate the screen
please try it out and provide your valuable comments
Oww Great ! Thank You Bro
after setting the velocity friction to 0 something it doesn't allow you to slide the switch, also how much would this increase battery drain?

Thanks for the support
It prevents you from copying and pasting if you are moving. the cursor keeps blinking.
Hi, nice idea for a module!
What differentiates the pro version? Ad removal / extra features, or just dev support?
Can you offer any extra information on exactly what each of the tweakable parameters do?

Thanks.
Now the pro version is just Ad Free.
The extra parameters are used to adjust the movement according to your walking speed.
I don' t know if I did something wrong, but it didn't worked for me. The device has AOSP 5.1 and I'm also using GravityBox and Android N'ify.
Very fun idea. You may want to hardcode some safe minimum and maximums on each setting and give it some sort of tendency to return to normal once movement subsides.
I lowered the velocity friction to zero and moved my phone around. The screen went off screen enough, I guess, that it couldn't return to center and the button to disable the module was not responding.
Also, maybe add a whitelist so you can pick to only have it activate while certain apps are in the foreground (browser, e-book readers). While it's neat for testing, having it constantly adjusting your screen when using your phone can be awkward.
Bravo for doing something new and creative!

I have checked the log. It is showing the sensor cannot be registered. Which is your device ?
is there any restriction in using sensors when using GravityBox or AndroidNify ?
I am using the sensor TYPE_LINEAR_ACCELERATION for this application. Is it available in your device ?
I have updated the application to version 1.1
Cannot use Copy/Paste etc bug - Fixed
Minumum value for parameters set - Fixed
Nice one! Congrats and thanks!
Simple and immediate feature request that I believe will improve your app:
1. Widget to toggle on/off
2. Activity to toggle on/off (to trigger from other automation, gesture, button... apps)
3. Persistent notification to toggle on/off
4. Notification only when on, to turn off
5. Reset default setting values
And also these:
6. Blacklist apps (for instance to exclude launcher,...)
7. Floating panel with main adjustments slides (thick! cause will be moving) for real time fine tune. Can use to show/hide it a button on the ongoing notification. Or to hide a 2 fingers tap on panel.
One bug I experimented already:
It was on. Using Nova Launcher here. I went to app drawer and them home.... Them turned off stability. Nova Launcher screens got frozen partially out of screen. Only solution was to force reload all launcher.
Thanks!
Very great idea man. Thx. Hoping for the stablest final version
Great concept and great app!
It slowed down my system quite a bit though, so I had to uninstall it. A lot of apps (the foreground app I was using) would freeze and the Android System prompt would appear saying " xxx app is not responding, would you like to: wait, force close and reopen, or send bug report". Anybody else seeing this performance problem?
Really nice. Now if the entire ui could shift, instead of only the foreground activity, that would even be better.
For example, the keyboard is not moving, neither is a second app when open in split screen.
great idea man!in 3 years apple as usual will steall this great mod to implement into IOS!

I thought about that.....if I'm de developer I'd patent the implementation worldwide. It is a simple concept, somehow already available out there for other uses, but as far as I know not for portable devices screens. And....AR, VR, glass,....
This is the typical thing Apple, Samsung, Google, LG would build a proof of concept (this app is one) and patent it. And sell rights for millions.
By the way, another fantastic module that has this potential is AllTrans. Real time translation of any app from any language to any other language....probably Google would love to have that under Google Tanslator label (and spy a bit more on you).

The keyboard movement will make it difficult to type if moving. As our fingers and actual device is at the same position, only screen movement is required I guess. Anyway I will try to provide and option to enable keyboard movement also if possible
