Wait for the approval. It's not flashable yet. It's still in test phase. We need some help, people with the device, a Rom dev or two.

If we have to wait for approval, that'll just waste our time. Can't you just make a thread here or are you doing this to get more members on your site?

Ok cool will this fix everything needed for sense 4.0 data to work

I made it so you (hasoon2000) can view the thread. Sorry if you feel I wasted your time. There's a reason why I can't post it here, among things it's not my work. Figured getting the word out would be the best start. Maybe I was wrong?

I would think all you need to do is provide that link and maybe give credit to the original person.. then copy their post into your OP. But they are right, if the site is locked up so people can't even access it, may as well post everything here.. then maybe inform the original author that there are people here who want to help test.
I for one can't really sign up for yet another forum.. just in forums alone I am signed up for prolly over 100.

Had to re-build boot.img with the provided zImage file, and adb push the modules...
data works, everything is great, but no wifi

Thread closed, reason is in OP.

Ziggy kernels

The thread in the dev section was shut down by the mods for having an external link. Ziggy does not want to maintain a thread of his own on xda since he already maintains his site. So if any of you want to find his kernels, you can google ziggy471.
I have found his kernels to be beasts both for the inc and for the bolt. And have helped him test those for both devices. If anybody wishes to ask questions, feel free to do so on his site. He is very responsive.
Finally, I'm not sure why xda cares so much about external links. Its not as though they share ad revenue with devs who actually drive business to the site with their work!
Sent from my thunderbolt
I also agree, used Ziggy kernels on previous devices and they were great.
Thanks for the info, ill be trying his kernel for the tbolt now
Its dumb that they don't allow externel links...
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Hold on a second... A lot of devs link to their external sites... This is not unusual... Is this a new rule?
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk
I assume it's because his site contains a pseudo-blog. They don't allow that.
If the external site is purely downloads-only it's typically allowed. None of the mods ever had issue with devs hosting files on my site and linking to them.
Not sure why they are enforcing that now but the storm thread was also locked down for a short while.
And you are right, many of the threads have external links. I'm curiously watching which threads they go after and which ones are holy cows.

Been running the 4-6 Kernel on the Virus ROM 3.1 and it rocks
Just to clarify, yes my thread was closed due to external links but that's not the whole story. From what I understood from the moderator all kernels posted on xda has to be complaint to the GPL. I can post links to his kernel only if ziggy provides a link to his source. Will contact ziggy later for this info if possible so I can get my thread open again.

That's my understanding too. XDA is really big on being compliant with GPL. When someone asks for a kernel source and there is no response, 99.9/100 XDA will close the thread.
But if Ziggy is well known then why would they assume he was doing something damaging with his kernels?

It has nothing to do with that. XDA adheres to the GPL, and so should he. He is breaking the license by not posting his source. By the way, check his github. He is not publishing it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755389
Anyone remember the stink we had over HTC doing the same thing?
I have never fully understood the gpl thing. Can somebody explain what it means in non legal terms? Why isn't it a problem if google does not release their honeycomb source code? I'm confused. Also, does this apply only to kernels or to roms too? And finally are there any carve outs for developer's to create unique code for themselves? Or if I decide to modify something for myself, I have to share it, github etc.
Sent from my thunderbolt
By the way, it was never a thread he started. It was posted by somebody else to start a discussion on xda about his kernels. Ziggy had never really cared to be on xda himself. He did not have a thread on the inc kernels either. And none of us cared, because all knew where to get them.
Sent from my thunderbolt
Then get them there.
Posting them here requires adherence to the GPL.
As mentioned earlier, it was not his thread. We have always gotten them from his site. Somebody else started a discussion thread for the benefit of users. I was surprised on seeing the thread because he found maintaining a thread too much work and xda also is not the correct format.
If the gpl license terms have to be applied always, can we please also ban all miui threads too? Lets not be hypocritical. Miui has never released its source code either yet their threads thrive.

Kernel=GPL.
Rom= mix of proprietary and Apache licensed source.
Apache does NOT require you to release your source.

Private trackers problem

It seems to be strange and i can't see the reason why i can't download a torrent from private trackers.
Does anybody know a way to fix that?
Ok since your a new member aka "noob" and since you obviously didn't read the forum rules I'll tell you. This kind of thread is a quick way to get banned. Xda does not tolerate warez or torrent sites nor posting asking for help with warez or torrent sites. In the future Google is your friend.
This thread should be removed.

Really. There are legally obtainable rorrents as well. Not everything is illegal warez. Sorry op I don't know the answer

Maybe Sprint started blocking IP's from the "torrent" sites. I know they (Sprint) hate when you go to torrent sites and they can cancel your contract if you use your phone to download from them.

Pm'ed a mod about this and its a fine line lol. So as of now I stand corrected. @the op my bad man found out you can post links to torrents as long as its not pirated software.
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\
Carriers may be blocking nonstandard ports or by filetypes u could use ssh tunnel app and tunnel through your home isp to access the trackers and keep your carrier from spying/blocking on your mobile directly personally I haven't had issues with sprint but havent tried on boost yet as i stick to "torrents" on a remote seedbox from afar ;P
a helpful windows ssh tunnel manager is > http://www.bitvise.com/winsshd
It's strange because i am connected to a wireless network from which using my computer i can download but not with my phone.
What happens when you try to download the torrent ??? What Rom & kernel are you on ?? Also if your on WiFi did you turn mobile data and background data off ??
Root-Hack_Mod*Always\
I find out that it is common practice between the private tracker to have a white list of torrent clients for more stability.
Thank you anyway
(i am using RomEos v1.3.1)

8. Donations.
We appreciate all donations to XDA-Developers.com as it helps to keep our forum online and well maintained. As a user, you're allowed to ask for donations in your signature as a thank you for your hard work, however donations up front are not allowed. This forum is about sharing and not about getting paid to do something... that is what your job is for.
That is exactly what that bounty was...money to get a ROM built. However there is nothing stopping everyone from simply using the developer's DONATE button.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Imagine...we have 5,340,000 members, in there are 10's of thousands of ROM developers, now imagine every forum flooded with members trying to get their favorite developer to buy the same device they just purchased with a bounty thread. Think big picture. Now if it was for a device with a locked bootloader for a developer known to be able to crack bootloaders...that is a significant development desired goal that would benefit all users of that device and break open development.
I hope this explains XDA's policy a little better and thank you for understanding.

Heyyy, man, unlock the CM11 thread!

That's just not right...

I understand that he violated the rules of XDA and which is offensive too. I and many other people are here for development and we live for it. I understand that the moderator has been true to the rules but I request if you could see from the developers point of view too.
Earning through clicks isn't fair according to the rules and if that's entertained this site will be become a portal for earning. But if the moderator could just post a final warning to the developer that would do the needful. I'm pretty sure he would post direct links and resume back the development.
I hope you understand us and our concern towards development.

And do you have personal knowledge that the mods didn't contact him via PM, as that is the method that would be used, issuing warnings prior to locking his thread? Everyone is given a chance or chances to remedy their situation before action is taken.

Well, I didn't mean that he wasn't given warnings or maybe he was given warnings.I understand the mods might have talked to him and issued warnings. I even understand that that he disrespected the mods and continued to break the "Rule no. 13" of the forum. But I,supporting the development platform would just prefer to finish the issue asap with some proper understanding between the mod and developer. I wasn't offending and assuming anything.
