Where is the RUU? - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I've seen a few references to people playing with the dinc4g RUU. Where can I download it? Googling hasn't work so far, and it hasn't shown up on HTC's software update page yet.

MikMik forums has it:

[Q] HBOOT 1.3 & will the HTC S-OFF have limits?

So I have the HBOOT v 1.3 and I am wondering if there is any early knowledge of its value over 1.4?
This also makes me begin to wonder... is there going to be any benefit to waiting and getting S-OFF through HTC? Or is there going to be greater benefit to getting S-OFF through the dev community? I.E., does anyone anticipate that even with HTC flavor of S-OFF, that perhaps they could control things just a little bit? For example, even with S-OFF today on the 4G, we cannot downrev HBOOT after a certain number....
So... we can already see that even with S-OFF, they can restrict certain things.
Are there going to be similar restrictions? Should I ignore all update prompts as I am doing now?

If HTC gives us what they promised we will merely have a bootloader that is not cryptographically signed. That's it. No root. no s=off. Nothing else.
I think you are mistaken. They promised an UNLOCKED bootloader. Unlocked means that no S-CHECK is performed... which means that we can flash recoveries, custom roms, etc.
But... even with today's S-OFF EVO 4Gs, people are not able to flash the older HBOOTs... (not sure why). But this is more to what my question was about. There is an advantage to the ENG hboot on EVO 4Gs. But even with S-OFF, those units still have restrictions of no downrevs after 2.02 i think.

Dude... I know you are mistaken. It is all the talk these days... and there are links to HTC's official announcements. When I said "I think," I was just being polite. I really meant to say "I know."
But my original question still stands... anyone have any thoughts about that?
Since the HTC method will likely require that you void your warranty, it might be advantageous to get root under the radar if possible.

If HTC is willing to play ball on our terms I think it only fair that we play ball on their terms.
...even though I think it is ridiculous.
In fact, without access to a custom recovery and ability to flash whatever I want I'm afraid of screwing up my phone in a way that I can't fix.....someone had a thread earlier about setting 'compatibility mode' off in Spare Parts causing bootloops and a factory reset didn't fix it. I've been there before but I had multiple avenues of recourse...right now I would have nothing I could do to fix that.
Granted, I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with the problem, but, the point remains.

I've been following this pretty closely for, well, about a month now...I've never heard anything spelled out specifically detailing it in this way.
However I have wondered the entire time what "unlock" means to HTC. We were only asking for the bootloader to not be crypto-signed, though that still means that we need to find an exploit...meaning we asked for open access to...well...more hacking of their software? If they are willing to take the biggest block out of the way, why not the whole kit and kaboodle? So I could see them (rightly) interpreting all of the "unlock bootloadar" demands to mean "give us unrestricted access to everything we need", though the cynic inside me also considered that they would stick to only offering the most specific thing they could--what we asked for. If they are really going to crack these phones wide open for us that really is a monumental statement...it could very well change the direction of this industry (for the better...for the consumer)...
...though that would blow my mind.
Anyone who really wants S-off and root, should definately not take the OTA updates. I've been down this road in the past with other devices. I have a lot more faith in our dev community unlocking this phone then I do in HTC. Just my thoughts.....

Bamf

I little while ago I flashed the BAMF-GingerREMIX-v2.0-Beta6 with the Darkhorse theme but it's been like a month or two since I did that and I was curious if there is an update to this ROM because I didn't see anything in the development forums on Thunderbolt and I expected to see a number of the latest BAMF updates but I see a CM7 and a bunch of others that I never seen before. Anyone point me to the right link or know anything about this? thanks!

They have their own site/forum and updates there. Don't have a link, but google for bamf forum or something like that and it should turn up.
I found the site and forums about their ROMS but nothing speaks anywhere that I could see to weather specific roms will work with the thunderbolt or not where as in these forums I know they are meant to work on the Thunderbolt. I just don't want to DL a rom from there and find out, oh CRAP this was meant for an Atrix, not a Thunderbotl and now I've bricked my phone!

If you are in the thunderbolt/roms section then they are for thunderbolt, the only other roms are for the incredible. They are working on a DX2 Rom but they don't have a section for it yet.

--Obsolete--WARNING to View Users - Read this before upgrading to HC

UPDATED:
HTC unlock supports the View.
I have S-OFF working as an upgrade path
It is possible to rollback from HC to GB, irrespective of S-OFF or not.
There is some more work required on the procedures, but it can all be done.
-----Information below this line is kept for historical reference------
The Honeycomb upgrade for the View is expected to start rolling out.
Before taking this upgrade please read the following in order to be aware of the consequences of taking the upgrade if you want any root options or custom ROMs or custom recovery.
It is expected that the upgrade will contain a new hboot (that has been strongly hinted at by reliable sources but never explicitly confirmed), that being the case you should be aware of the following consequences:
If you take this upgrade there is no HTC unlock for the View yet.
This means no root for now
This means no custom ROMs for now
This means no rollback to gingerbread for now
In other words this is a dead-end for now.
There is no S-OFF tool for the view when running on HC (revolutionary will not work)
This means no root for now
This means no custom ROMs for now
This means no rollback to gingerbread for now
In other words this is a dead-end for now.
There is currently no known working temp root exploit on HC (again this means no rollback)
So with that depressing information out of the way, here is the good news:
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
While some of you will want to stay completely stock and have no need for root or custom roms/recovery and I entirely respect that opinion and option as being valid others may be undecided. If you are undecided I strongly suggest that you either:
Wait until you have decided
Perform the S-OFF upgrade, which is reversible and will allow you to go back to stock if you want to.
Again, to re-iterate if you take the upgrade as is you will be stuck with no options but to stay completely stock.
I hate to ask this, but I want to make sure since I am newb in all areas relating to rooting, flashing etc. You are in fact referring to the View and not the Flyer?
Thanks for the heads up.
I am getting my View in the next week and will not upgrade to HC until there is a way to roll back to GB

Yes, I put an "over the top" highlight of the in the first post to clarify.
Just got the notification on mine too, thanks for the heads up even though I really want to upgrade. I will wait!
Another question from a 1 week old Android Noob. Is this update you are referring to an official one from HTC/Sprint? (my device is out of WiFi range, so I cant tell if there are updates), or is this from devs like yourself (globatron)?
Official release.
I hate HC & planned to decline it anyway, so do you have any idea if it will keep prompting me to update if I hit decline?
I don't know about that way, but you can turn off checking altogether anyway.

Another question from a newbie. Is everything you said (except for the rollout date) still applicable to the Wi-Fi HC update for the Flyer? That is to say, we should wait for further news before upgrading from stock GB to HC?

No. There is an official HTC unlock for those, and as a result it is possible to rollback to GB and S-OFF there, that said I have all the pieces needed to handle the upgrade S-OFF upgrade of the flyer from day 1.

yeah, sorry...updating previous post to avoid confusing others.
I don't want to whine and clog up the thread, but some comments are driving me nuts. Plus, this might clear up some confusion. Here's some things I've learned over the last couple weeks, when I've been waiting for the impending Honeycomb update:
1. While the hardware of the HTC Evo View and the HTC Flyer is extremely similar, they are different enough that the Honeycomb upgrade for the View won't work on the Flyer. If you have questions about the Honeycomb Flyer update, you probably should redirect any questions to that thread. Flyer users have already been able to update to Honeycomb for a couple weeks, which has been the cause of much jealousy among us View owners.
2. Globatron - who I will commend for somehow having all this inside information - has clearly marked this as a View thread. To just give you a couple examples, it's titled, "WARNING to View Users" and also contains "View" in giant red letters in the opening few sentences. This information clearly doesn't apply to the Flyer.
Three cheers to Globatron. I'll be taking his advice and waiting until he can post a rootable HC update. I'm thrilled about possibly having universal stylus support, which will make this tablet the best $250 I've ever put down on a piece of technology.
GoodandEvo.net has this warning about updating if rooted.
Update: If you rooted using Revolutionary, hold off on applying this update for now. I'm currently stuck at the white HTC start-up screen, and now have to wait for my battery to die before I can fix this in recovery since there's no way to pull the battery on this tablet.

Not been active lately, some new developments for the rezound, means some questions

Ok... I have been completely out of the Android game for at least a couple months... (unless you count the occasional check to see if anything is happening on the AOSP front)
Now we have a new leak and new ROMs. Some new devs, some old devs. Though it seems Scott has moved on, or hasn't been paying enough attention to the rezound to know there is a new leak and he needs to update his ROMs.
So, a couple questions guys.
(this info has been difficult to find in the past for the rezound as its spread out too much with no central location to find latest info, unless that has changed recently)
New leak... So we are convinced this is the final version that will hit OTA? If so, Cool...
Are the newest radios any better/worth the change? (subjective for the most part I know) No compatibility issues with the different hboots? (GB vs ICS issues excluded)
I am using the Mod'ed ICS hboot that came with the S=off exploit the day ithe exploit was released. Have we gotten any better versions of Hboot yet? (like a real engineering ICS hboot or newer Mod'ed version?) Is the Mod'ed hboot worth keeping, or should I just use the latest stock version and be done with it?
Aroma? WTF is that... its a new thing for ROM installs but what is it? I found the code page for it, but way too much info, just looking for a summery. LOL I can understand the concepts and how it works, just don't throw too much jargon at me. Coding/software isn't my field. I'll stick with avionics.

Application Security Fix by HTC

A new update has been made available by HTC - they call it APPLICATION SECURITY FIX. It is meant for non-Androi 4.0+ devices and the Jetstream is one among them besides HTC Vivid, Inspire and Status. It is a manual update and I don't think it will be provided via ota.
The link is: http://www.htc.com/us/support/app-security.html
I really don't know what the update contains but they make it clear that no personal data would be wiped by installing the fix. I am not applying it, in hope that we will be getting JB real soon. So people who want to check it out, do so at your own risk after reading all directions given by HTC about the update.

Well, seeing how JB won't be coming that soon, unless some developers get going, I installed them all. Not sure what it will accomplish, but figure it can't hurt, after all, it is just for the weather, sound and PDF reader. If you don't see me write back, then all is fine, if I do, it will have turned into a disaster. LoL
I'm sure it pained HTC to make an update for the Jetstream.
