Xperia U - Bootloader not allowed to be unlocked? How can we bypass this? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Well I remember when i had the Xperia Play for the 1st time the phone was locked and fastboot couldnt not be accessed and bootloader could not be unlocked so i had to pay someone $15.00 to do a testpoint thing online, i cant remember his name now!
but anyhow what i was wanting to know is there anyway i could do it to the Xperia U so i can get access to fastboot and the bootloader to unlock it?

Yup, I kinda assumed you didn't read stuff, but guess you did.
So, it's branded by your provider/carrier? Otherwise it should be no problem.

Also same problem...
Bought mine from Vodafone Portugal and it says unlocking not allowed...
Let's pray for an answer...

mhh, that's an interesting option (no loss of DRM etc)
Let us know if he can fix it too for the Xperia U, would be good to know as I'm close to releasing a App for the U only that requires root
and a clean unlock/root could be more attractive to people

will ask him that now

i got my Xperia Acro HD (previously network locked to Docomo, "bootloader unlock allowed = no") unlocked using ezSEMC tool.
after the unlock process (via USB cable, an old reliable Win7 laptop, and a working 2mbps internet connection), the phone is now network unlocked and "bootloader unlock allowed = yes".
payment was around 50US$ via Paypal, (unlock cost for your device should be less) the unlock process was quick and painless.
this is not an advertisement for the product(although it does sound like an endorsement BS) but just letting you know of an alternative that is proven to work and deliver.

What so difficult for you to understand.... Its possible to unlock a branded phone via S1 using testpoint. Sooo shhhhhhhh boy!

I have a Xperia U that says bootloader allowed no. Is there a way to unlock the bootloader?

I think only Sony Mobile can help us
We should never buy a phone from the carrier network again.

There is no way,end of story.

There is a way. You must contact your carrier and ask them to do it. They will tell you where to send your phone in order to unlock your boot loader. For example, here in Portugal, Datafax is able to change your boot loader status to "allowed= yes"

I have no idea (as I have not needed this), but my best guess would be that those people may not have installed the correct driver that comes with flashtool.
Seems tha mobile phone is a branded phone..... its a paid method yhu gonna use, check wotanserver client maybe yhu can get something there!

Yes, I have "Unlock allowed: NO" and ran many times S1TOOL without success because i made a very bad choice to buy a mobile from VODAFONE (the worst company, in my opinion)
So, the only way to enable boot loader as far as I know is by UNLOCK in a shop. One of my friend did this to a sk17i of YOIGO and did the trick well. He can now enjoy the miniICS which run amaizing.
Im thinking to do the same. SONY and VODAFONE deceive me. (and its not the first time)
I dont think by software like Wotan you could do. (

Bootloader unlock allowed no
what should i do???

get an unlock code from your network provider, some people have said that once they removed the simlock its let them unlock the bootloader. if that doesnt work then theres not much you can do untill someone works out another way to unlock it
no fastboot mode.
Theres only one solution I know of, and it may be a crazy one....
Use search first, and read the other 500 threads created on this topic ;-)

If you want to unlock the boot loader, use the wotanserver.com
* In addition to sim unlock you get an unlocked bootloader.
However, it seems to me that at the moment, this service does not support SXS
Try to write the administration service.

What is a "rootable bootloader"?
For the Croatian members:
I've just called customer service of Vipnet( Vodafone) and they told me that there is no problem, you can unlock boot loader for only 480 HRK (~65€).
Well, if there's no free unlocking solution in few weeks I'll have to milk some cash. It's still better then locked for life.

same here, I bought my Xperia S directly to Sony Mexico, and it is locked too, I talked with Sony like 5 times, each one with different person and all said the same, that it is locked because in Mexico, there are not unlocked devices, no matter who sold it. They said that I have to talk with telcel so maybe they can give me the unlock code, will let you know if I will success
Hi, I was thinking in getting an Xperia S but if the bootloader is locked I won't get it.
Just to clarify, you both have done this (from: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions)
1. First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
2. In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

and you got the "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"?
Yep it says "no" if you are going to Buy one it is better if you buy it on web pages, you can find it unlocked by factory

So is there another way you can get a code or does it has to be from TELCEL? i mean are there some kind of keygens or something? i bet TELCEL can't have thousands of codes for all the cellphones they have...
setool s1 servers are online so you can unlock simlock, and bootloader of any provider
Do you have the link to setool page?
Enviado desde mi LT18i usando Tapatalk 2
and what exactly is this setool s1? and how do you use it?
SeTool2 is tool to unlock, repair etc Sony Ericsson phones.
It can unlock Xperia S (LT26) with they servers (names s1 server) it online 0:00 - 12:00 gmt
You must buy software + server credits to ulock or find someone to unlock your phone in my country cost 140 PLN ~ 32 Euro ~ 41USD
Sounds great! Do you know were can find a guide to do it?
Enviado desde mi LT18i usando Tapatalk 2
it's not too easy, but apart of the setool software you have to own a box to conect to your pc in order to unlock the sim and enable the fastboot, if i'm wrong then make a tutorial and teach us how???
i dont have money to buy setool for unlock one phone. so i cant make tutorial
people that unlock Xperia S do it remote by TeamViewer ... you just download software and connect Xperia to pc by USB cable, they login to your pc, then login to s1 server with their user/password and unlock
i check this metod after get salary and write more
enable fastboot and sim unlock

[Q] unlock bootloader allowed "NO"

Hi guys,
as title above suggests, after doing the *#*#7378423#*#* trick, my SXS says bootloader unlock is not allowed.
Is anyone aware of any exploits to make this possible. Yes I know ICS is coming out soon, but as I am on Orange UK they will hold it back until they have added all their bloatware, which I want shot of
Cheers for looking, and for helping
With any luck there will be a hardware method to unlock the bootloader on these like there was on the 2011 range. But currently I don't think anyone has figured it out yet. Certainly don't envy you waiting for Orange to roll out the update with all their junk installed.
There's no rooting method for GB nor for ICS as of now.
if you want ICS, use flashtool and flash any of the available firmwares to your phone (generic one), then you don't have to wait and you'll only get Sony's bloatware, some of them can be removed without rooting. If you flash the original images, you don't have to have root or unlocked bootloader, it works just fine.
Right...
I had the exact same issue as you...
The phone is from CPW so not a phone direct from orange but the Bootloader unlockable status was set to 'No'
I then flashed from GB .67 to .73 and it had somehow changed the bootloader status to 'Yes' and I was able to unlock it...
The phone was rooted the same day and now on ICS rooted too!
Here is the (albeit vague) thread on the subject...

On Spain last may we bought lot of Xperia U from the same carrier, all of them with locked BL, somehow we managed to complain about it and the solution they gave us was first you need the phone with simlock removed, so you can use the phone with any company, after that the SAT from sony will get the phone for about a week, you have to send it, they take care of the fees and they unlock the bootloader.
Make sure your phone is simlock free, and try to contact sony about allow the BL
enable fastboot with jinx
go to phoneunlockserver.com and talk to jinx and he can sim unlock it and enable fastboot so you can unlock the bootloader with official way.
no test point need, just normal usb cable and pressing one button.
"It's Here
Ok, anyone wanting sim unlock for the newer xperia's
Xperia S etc etc it is here for a limited time and afraid to say expensive.
This also includes phones produced after 12w14"
"Cost
The cost for this is at the current moment is £35.00 GBP This will be going up soon I hear. The reason for this is it takes 10 credits for the process"
"Sim and Fastboot
This unlock is for sim unlock and fastboot enabled. Customers can then unlock the bootloader the official way.
I do not know how long this will be up for and it is up between 8am - 8pm GMT+8 time zone"
I'm just waiting for ics to come out for my Xperia U and then i think i'm gonna do it with jinx.
it is right
Anyone has already test this methode?

Yes,I send it on service repair because I corrupt bootloader.
Then Sony replaced it with clean one and much faster NAND memory.
You will lose phone for a week but hey,you will get faster and unlocked phone.

So I have a choice:
1: Sell the phone and buy the same but with the ability to unlock the bootloader
