Nova 3 - Horrible Framerate - Transformer TF300T Themes and Apps

Is anyone else getting bad frame rates in N.O.V.A 3? Its kind of disappointing having such a wonderful tablet, only to see it perform poorly on this game. My Android phone with a Adreno 220 GPU runs smoother.
Is the game not optimized for our tablets?

Asus transformer tf300 and prime, has the I/O problems. Nand write is verry slow.

Im currently running the HYDRO 3.5 rom. Didn't make the game run any smoother.

If you are rooted, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735887
Works on the 300, I am running v5 and it has made a difference.

I'm going to try this out right now. I'll post back to see if I see any results.
UPDATE: Tablet itself runs smoother and faster, but game performance hasn't changed. =/

Hmmm, I'm a bit surprised that it made Seanz's 3.5 ROM run faster...
Also would be great if others would post their experiences with this game, as I, and I'm sure others, are thinking about getting it.

Are you sure you have all the correct settings in the ATP app? Also I am running v5, not v7. Finally, I don't have Nova, but Shadow Gun and MC3 work beautifully.

I'll redo the settings then. Shadow gun and mc3 runs pretty smooth for me, but Nova avgs like 15-20 fps. Just a guesstimate.

Here are the recommended settings for ATP app v5 that I am using: On the right side select sio ioscheduler. then up top left hand corner select sio. then check the box that says startup on boot. then select the other box, on top left hand corner, that says load system tune on startup/boot. That is it.
Hope that helps.

Yep, the exact instructions are right below the downloads in that post, actually--picture instructions, too, in case anyone is feeling apprehensive about the changes.
I'm using v7, but with all the things I've changed lately, I'm not sure if there is a noticeable difference for me. Games have always run pretty smooth on my particular device, but I'll definitely keep a closer eye on it.

Yeah i followed the instructions. Nova 3 is the only game I have lag to the point where its unplayable. Modern Combat 3 is acceptable. Although I wish it would run at a solid 60fps.

I have reinstalled the game several times, and did a cold boot. If I do a factory reset with a custom rom it will be fine correct? Or will it boot up to CWM? I did a factory reset to a previous phone i had, and i had to reflash the rom again lol, thats why i am asking this.

Don't know if there's an option for factory reset on custom roms, but if you do a clean wipe through CWM you will have to reinstall the rom again.

I never had problems with any of the ATP_Tweak versions.

Okay, I really messed up my tablet now lol. I did a factory reset on my tablet. I currently had Seanz rom and now its stuck at the nexus loading screen. Is there anyway i can get usb mass storage mode to setup on the tablet through cwm? I can't seem to get it to work.

Go to the bottom, download the last attachment...I've that's a pdf, beta 9 6.3. Next go to market download script manager. open script manager, browse as root, then go to you're download location of the file and click on it. Within new menu, clock on SUn near top then click run. Follow the instruction and when all the option show up select option #9, super 1000 HP. Let it finish when the option show up again choose option 26 to reboot. Let it reboot etc. after it reboots open script manager then go to this directory: /data
Look for the 99 super charger.sh file that was created, select it. In new menu select SU and BOOT. Then click safe, then finally turn it off and let it reboot. And voila enjoy your super charged phone.... I noticed a HUGE IMPROVEMENT is sharpness and responsiveness.

Pretty much the same in AnTuTu and CF Bench for me. What is smoother is the overall UI experience. I don't do much gaming on the Note, I have a TF101 with emulators for gaming if I want to play some mobile games.
I used to run this on my Infuse but was not sure if I wanted to try on my new Note. With no CWM to do a Nandroid backup just in case.
Just installed it and it works great as usual!
Thanks for testing this out!
I'll post the pdf in a few

I used to use that on my dell streak and it worked.
I find that ROM TOOLBOX provides a more refined way to alter the OOM settings, plus you can increase SD card speeds, access build.prop, sys ctl tweaks - plus u can run them at bootup too... It's a lot easier - give it a try
i followed the instructions. Can someone explain what this actually does, in English?
This thread should be moved to Development.
Does seem to make the device more responsive. I can actually use ADW EX launcher again. Before I did this it had considerable more lag. Now it's almost like using a custom ROM on my SkyRocket.
u have to be rooted though?
i didnt really want to root until CWM and roms are out
and something to prevent triangle and flash count
Root is required to run script manager.
Works great on my Note. Helped to smooth it out and give it a litttle more speed.
When I was on the Infuse a lot of the DEV's included it in their ROM's
changes the out of memory (OOM) settings - androids native task manager - helps keep your launcher in memory too, most ppl will notice that you see ReDraws a lot less and smoother/snappier scrolling

needs to be moved to AT&T Galaxy Note I717 Android Development i agree.
I used the Super Charge Script on my Epic and Epic Touch so I am familiar with how it makes the device smoother/snappier. But I do have a question. If you have programs like Facebook, Wordfeud, weather apps, timelines, etc., set to check for updates and alerts say every hour, will this kill them to free up RAM and keep you from receiving updates? I never seemed to have any problems with my Epic, but want to know for sure how it works.

BUILD.PROP to be SuperCharged!
This can cause boot loops...

I had the same problem on my stock Note. You have to click on the little loading bar itself, and get the window to come up showing the download progress. Try that in both games.

Any tips to speed up phone.

My phone is really sluggish and slow. Ifi click the menu button for example the round spinning loading logo comes up for a few seconds.:crying:

Thats not right at all. There is something fundamentally wrong.
I would download mybackup pro trial aand take a backup of your data that you absolutely cannot lose and then do a factory reset because this should not be happening.

+1 removing not used apps and widgets makes a great difference in performance and battery life.
No matter what, the phone shouldn't act like this. Something is heavily draining ram(not using, draining) probable a rogue app.
factory reset and if the problem persist take it back to the store

*EDIT: It won't get superuser privledges, so it doesn't work. I know almost everything works with TWRP, but will this, since it was originally from a different forum?
*EDIT 2: I'm happy to confirm this works, both with TWRP and 4.2.2 ROMs (Well, at least Vanilla Rootbox)

Hey is your phone going into deep sleep when this is enabled?
After I installed this (I did the APK method, for some reason the .zip wasn't downloading.) my settings app closes on launch.
I can still go Menu Key > Lock/Home Screen Settings to get into the app, but I can't even use All Settings.
I uninstalled the app, but the problem is still there. Any ideas?

Art Fix for lag.

For that slight lag we get especially going into the app drawer I figured I try switching to Art instead of Dalvik and BAM lag was gone and feels much snapper for sure.
I do think it made my G3 snapper, but over time it just created more issues than it solved. I recently started using Nova Launcher Prime again and it's definitely faster than the stock one. That's a good enough bump in speed for me for now.
I did this about 4 days after owning the device, and since then, its been nothing but positives for me. It also seems as if it REALLY boosts battery life (almost doubled mine)
I switched about 2 weeks ago and honestly I cant tell any difference. I am using Apex Launcher
What lag ?
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
Just switched to art myself yesterday... The lag is nonexistence now which is awesome, but is there a way to make some of the app compatible? (I searched but came up with, nothing) sorry for the stupid question
The lag exist just a few secs in the app drawer when you flip through the 1st or 2nd page. To another post you don't notice lag if you use a launcher. I personally like to use the stock launcher.
Finally making the switch to ART today. So far, so good. I will edit if I encounter issues.

Tried ART on 2 separate occasions for roughly a week. Both times, I had random freezes or reboots every day or 2. None of these issues on Dalvik.
Using Nova Launcher and that minimizes apparent lag for me.
