[RECOVERY] r2 (5.8.0.2) / r3 (6.0.0.4) - Interim ClockworkMod recovery for Nexus 7 - Nexus 7 Original Development

Hey folks!
I've created a working ClockworkMod recovery for Nexus 7 for use until such time as Koush releases his. This is basically the Galaxy Nexus recovery fixed up for the Nexus 7. Needs must and all that.
The r2 version is based on 5.8.0.2 (in case you don't like the new features in the 6 series)
The r3 version is based on ClockworkMod Touch 6.0.0.4.
Note: An official series 6 ClockworkMod recovery is now available from Koush / ROM Manager!
The recommended install method is 'adb reboot bootloader && fastboot flash recovery r3-recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.0.4-nexus7-modaco.img && fastboot boot r3-recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.0.4-nexus7-modaco.img'.
r2 - DOWNLOAD - MD5: 42ebef60c54ca4709e7fafb80933a80d
r3 - DOWNLOAD - MD5: a3e2326843a18447bd03b73318bee5c0
Enjoy!

I've got a similar problem, I can't boot into it. Just the black green with the open padlock and the Google logo.

a reboot widget will put you in cwm but i would not flash a rom until there is a solution all other option in bootloader work turn off/reboot bootloader/ ect just the recovery on give a black screen and no cwm

The stock ROM overwrites the recovery on boot.
Boot into recovery and do 'adb shell mount /system && adb shell rm /system/recovery*' and you'll be set. I will add a script to the recovery to make it do it for you.

Yes. I think you have to hold both Vol buttons though. Not sure offhand since I did it myself through adb.

Yes. When Andy is on his back hit the down key twice and hit power. Recovery

When I do this, all I get is the Google logo, nothing else happens.
If I reboot into recovery using adb it works fine.

I also edited the keylayout in my CM sources for recovery so that we can use the four hardware buttons efficiently, back button = back, home button = up, menu button = down, search button = select.
I did this because on the new CWM the layout is all messed up for our device

No it's not possible to flash as the Xperia range does not have a recovery partition, which is where you usually flash the ClockMod Recovery to
Could you possibly update this to the newest CWM?
i will try to update it, as it is not that hard to do
CWM Version 5.5.0.4 by FreeXperia Team
Instructions:
Code:
- In Fastboot mode type in terminal: fastboot boot recovery2.img

The europa doesn't have a hardware key combination to get into recovery.
You can use adb to get into recovery.
If you have android sdk installed. Open the command prompt and type "adb reboot recovery" without quotes.
Or you can download any other custom recovery like cwm and flash it in Odin.

If you flash cwm recovery us using odin it automatically boots into recovery.
If your on cyanogenmod or any other cm derived rom it'll have an option to reboot into recovery in the power menu.

If you want to reboot recovery from a stock rom or any rom with no recovery reboot option just root the phone and install the terminal app. Then open the terminal and type the following:
su (then hit enter/return on keyboard to get superuser)
reboot recovery (type that and hit enter/return again and the phone will reboot into recovery)
thanks

use another method to boot into recovery
like ADB commands
Code:
adb reboot recovery
:good:
If your bootloader is locked, simply use [NUT]'s dual recovery.
If your bootloader is unlocked, install any 4.4.4 based kernel what has recovery built into it. I'm using AndroPlus as I'm running a 4.4.4 ROM as my main ROM.
Well there are severel apps which makes your device boot into recovery. None worked and I think the use the same method?

I'm assuming you are using [NUT]'s dual recovery? Did you install busybox before running the recovery installer? If not, install it, then run the recovery installer again. You will see the green LED when the device is showing the SONY logo before the waves bootlogo.

Is your device rooted? If yes, download any "Reboot app that needs Root", press the reboot to recovery and it should work. If it doesnt boot to recovery, it means the recovery was not installed properly.
Can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=phongit.quickreboot&hl=en
Alternatively, install this app and it can allow you to select which recovery to install. If you have your recovery installed, it will be detected.

The device is not rooted and it is not planed to do it in the original rom because I want to backup the original rom from recovery without any changes.
Do you know how i can check if the recovery was flashed properly?

I was under the impression that the Z2 Tab doesn't support reboot to recovery and instead you wait until the LED turns green on power-up and then you hold Vol-Down until it turns purple. The device will then boot to recovery.
At least, my rooted SGP511 won't reboot into recovery via any of the usual apps, but above works every time.

"Bricked" device after TWRP flash from Fastboot [RESOLVED]

I unlocked bootloader, went to fastboot and tried to flash TWRP - https://eu.dl.twrp.me/mido/ (I have SN version of RN4). Flash went without error, but then I pressed volume-up and power-on and phone didn't go on. Notification LED for battery doesn't light when connected and I can't turn the phone on or access the fastboot. It seems bad to me. Is there anything I can do? I spent my only money for this device and fact I might kill it makes me cry.

Did you flash twrp successfully right?
If yeah, then try enter into fastboot mode [volume down + power key] use fastboot commands to boot to TWRP -
Fastboot boot <whatever the recovery name.img> hit enter, then wait sometime it'll eventually boot to trwp, from twrp flash lazyflasher zip, reboot your phone, that's the way.
If you can't go on fastboot mode, then try this - http://en.miui.com/thread-565784-1-1.html

Well, I managed to do what you said, I was in TWRP and flashed lazyflasher. I clicked reboot but phone don't go on. If I hold power on phone long enough (7 sec or so) it just shows Xiaomi logo for a split of second and then go off. Before I did that, I held button long enough and was able to boot into system. Now I can't.

How I recovered my device -
Went to fastboot mode - volume down + power key.
Then fastboot boot <recovery.img>
Wait let it boot to TWRP, once you get into twrp, just wipe everything except internal /SD card, then choose install zip, flash los14.1. Firmware, then flash any custom rom + Gapps, hit reboot!
This fixed my issue.
